Swampscott Refrigeration was established in 1951 by Charles V. Carone while working from his self built home in Swampscott, Massachusetts. He started in this business after serving in the Navy during World War II where he repaired and serviced appliances on the ships. He first worked at the Pickering Company where he accumulated two years of experience.
Swampscott Refrigeration is pleased to provide our customers with energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment as well as other related services. In addition to our heating and cooling services, we also perform commercial refrigeration repair which our company was built on over 6 decades ago. This includes walk-in & reach-in freezers as well coolers & refrigerators, ice machines, and sandwich units for local restaurants, convenience stores and otherwise.We offer several products and services that qualify for local utility company rebates.

Weird experience with these guys. I called them to get a quote on installing central air conditioning in my home. They came over within a week and were very professional - took about 30 minutes of my time, talked me through what they would need to do, said they would follow up with a quote. and then they went silent. I had to call 4 times over a month and half period asking for the follow-up/quote before they finally told me "the job was too big for them and they didn't have the man power". What?
Not a great experience - I lost time waiting to hear from them and had to chase them down. [Edit - appreciate the followup here by the owner and agree a one star rating is not fair and I've adjusted. Great service/response to my initial inquiry and as I mentioned, very professional - I wish the follow up had been better but understand the circumstances.]

UPDATE: After 6 years with two Carrier heating and cooling systems installed by Swampscott Refrigeration, I needed to call them for a problem with one of the heating units. They have been great to work with. Not only did they fix the problem with the heating system, but they also checked out the 2nd unit to make sure that was running at peak efficiency as well. They've been very responsive and great to work with.

Swampscott Refrigeration is truly the best. They installed our central air and new gas furnace recently and I'm so grateful that they were on the job. They spotted a potential problem with our ducts in advance and fixed it before it became a problem. Customer service was fabulous and every email I sent with questions or concerns was returned quickly and with the most professional of service. We are very grateful to Jim, Brenda and the entire team.

Always professional on the phone and in person. My property isn't "easy" to deal with and they think outside the box, which I appreciate. I've had central air put into an old home, and installed two Mitsubishi splits. In each instance, the work has been clean and looks good from outside the home (doesn't distract from curb appeal). I have them service my units annually, so have encountered no issues.
