I have a semi annual maintenance contract on my AC units with Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. The AC unit was working fine when they came for the spring maintenance check. The capacitor was removed to be checked as part of the service. On reinstallation, the Trainee Technician installed 2 wires backwards on it reversing one which was the starter power supply to the compressor.
This caused it to not provide enough amps to start the compressor although the fan was still running so it initially seemed like the system was on. They finished up about 1:30pm. About 6pm I noticed it was getting warm in the house. Later that night I could hear the compressor trying to start for 1-2 seconds then kicking back off, it would try ever 3 mins and would cause the lights in the house to go dim.
I was able to figure out two wires were installed incorrectly by comparing it to the other AC unit which was still working. I then reached out to a friend who is a Commercial HVAC Master Technician and he walked me through checking the resistance on each lead to ground and was able to confirm that Internal Thermal Overload Switch inside the compressor had failed.
This is an internal component that requires replacing the entire compressor. The overload switch failed after multiple start attempts because the capacitor was not able to provide enough amps to start it because wires were reversed. Air Conditioning & Heating Inc sent another technician out to check the system and he confirmed the two wires were indeed reversed but he concluded that the compressor scroll was locked which was a mechanical failure and it had nothing to do with the capacitor being wired incorrectly.
He said that it was purely a coincidence that it locked up on the same day. The Manager also supported this assessment. That day, the Technician told me a replacement compressor would be about $2600 and an entire new system would be $8500. The following day, I was told it would be $3300 by someone in the office. When I received the actual quote it was $3900 for replacing the compressor (almost half the price of an entire new system!).
I ended up opting for the new system so that I could get the warranty that comes with it. I understand mistakes happen and would not written this review if Air Conditioning & Heating Inc would have just made it right and replaced the compressor at no charge. My system was only 7 years old and working fine prior to this.

Scott was great, we have an 11 year old AC unit and Scott let me know of the current issues, the potential future solutions and was open and honest with his assessment. I appreciate his candor and helping us to maintain the current unit as long as possible while recognizing the need to continue to be aware of the need to replace in the future and our options.

I subscribed to ACH's maintenance membership (very competitive and compelling cost for risk transference). Immediately I began to reap the benefits. Day 1, Charles arrived and walked me through the entire suite of services and amenities we subscribed to. He then conducted a very thorough inspection of our HVAC setup and cleaned our system and even identified the things to look out for during harsh weather.
Great professional, very smart and informed of the ins and outs of HVAC. The next day, I purchased a smart thermostat, tried my bestest to install myself but ran into different wires not mentioned anywhere in the manuals or online forums. After 45 mins that night of getting nowhere and kids needing love, I called ACH the next day. Chrstine (may have wrong name) quickly found someone who could assist.
Within a hour Aaron came by, and went straight to work. Kids loved his professionalism, had the boys super curious and intrigued with his services. In the end, Aaron explained the issue and even said its understandable how those wires confuse people. But with ease he came and the cost was less and more assuring than Lowe's professionals whom would've done the install. Great company and glad the neighbors introduced me to their program.

Scott was very thorough in his inspection, identifying/solving the issue, and cleaning the system well. Customer service, management, and service technician were all very responsive and scheduled the service call quickly and professionally. When I had a problem with my mini split, Air Conditioning and Heating Inc were here the same day to troubleshoot and diagnose the problem. The unit had to be removed and taken to the shop for repair then reinstalled. The multiple technicians that were involved were on time, professional, courteous, and most of all they knew their job. Great technicians! Also Craig kept me informed on status of everything happening! These people are the best I've ever dealt with. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Troy with A/C & Heating Inc did a great job finding a solution to a problem we were having with our unit that 3 other companies and 6 technicians couldn't figure out after 6 visits over 3 years. He identified the issue with a damper right away and also made some other suggestions for air purifying that were really helpful. The issue has been resolved and I'm very pleased. I definitely recommend this company and will continue to use them.
