These guys are prompt, reasonable and informative. Called these guys when my A/C unit stopped blowing cold air. Pete arrived in under 2 hours and diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. My unit is 12 years old and its time to look at a replacement, I will be calling these guys when the time comes. I am an employee here at Cortez and started in June of 2020. I have worked for a few mechanical contractors in the area and none of them function like Cortez. The technicians go above and beyond consistently and the service managers are thorough. They have been in business for 55+ years for a reason. Trust them with your mechanical needs and they will exceed your expectations!

The five star previous review is clearly the owner. Do NOT use this company as they will not only try to charge you an arm and a leg for services, but then when you do not agree to the outrageous price, they will then call you the day of and say they are busy and its probably best to call a different company. Learn from my mistake and STAY AWAY!

I am a property manager new to Florida here in Sarasota. The new company I am working for has been using Tampa Trane for years. After dealing with them trying to repair several issues, none of them were resolved and Trane kept blaming larger cost items in hopes of replacement. I could not repair myself because of it being such large scale equipment so I decided to call Cortez.
They had sent one of their best techs out Shannon. Shannon was absolutely fantastic. He had solved the riddle that Trane could not after several years and several techs. He spent two days repairing my equipment and for the first time in years its running almost like new. The second day the service manager himself came out to check on everything and introduce himself.
Without question he was one of the smartest HVAC men I had ever met (coming from 21 years HVAC background personally) and Cortez is fortunate to have him. I am excited to a future with this company and glad my tenants and office personal will no longer be suffering through the hot florida summers. Thank you Cortez!

I called a technician named Tom, after two weeks of trying to get him to come out he says I need to call someone else. He was supposed to come out that morning. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. Said it would be $2,500 to replace drain lines etc, hires a company who cleaned the drain lines and made sure they were flowing properly. Cortez is a rip-off and waste of time.
