Dave Lane started in the A/C & Heating business way back in 1963. Dave soon gained the knowledge he needed to open his own business and did just that in 1976. Dave Lane himself may have retired in 2003 but his dream and legacy live on today. Ronnie & Becky Hoffart opened Hi-Tech Mechanical in 1995 with one goal, to bring comfort to Houstonians and they did that for over 20 years before deciding it's time to step down.
They have served me several times recently, for different problems. Each time they were prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. Not cheap, but reasonable, all things considered. Even the person who answered the phone tried to help me with things I could try myself before scheduling a technician. The tech did great job as usual.

After reading all the excellent reviews on line, I contacted Dave Lane. The ladies answering my questions were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I was told about their maintenance contract that would save me money versus what I was trying to do. They sent a tech the next morning! He made a very necessary repair on the spot, which I really appreciated! Then, he sent me two detailed estimates for repair and replacement of AC.
I called and spoke with the tech Tyler, and he explained everything to me in a simple manner that I could understand. No hard sell and no pressure. These guys live up to their reputation. I will never use anyone else!

Called for quote to clean interior evap coil. Told it's $100 PLUS whatever they are going to charge to clean the coil. They want $100 for no work at all and then to charge additionally on top of that. For reference another AC repair company said it was $80 to clean the coil. No hidden costs no extra fees. This company is criminal they want over $100 before they even START to work on your equipment

We had a new thermostat installed and additional insulation blown into the attic. Jesse installed and programmed the new thermostat for us while two other men worked to blow in a considerable amount of insulation to keep the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. All three workers arrived on time, worked professionally, covered some items we have stored in the attic and removed the covers before leaving, and left the house looking as clean as when they arrived. We are very pleased with the way this job was handled.

A/C not cooling so repairman was called just before 4pm and he arrived by 4:30pm. He found gloat switch clogged so replaced float switch anc cleared drain line. He did a check of blower evaporator coil etc.to be sure system working properly. He emailed invoice after payment made but invoice does not have cost itemized on it which I did not question since I thought it would be there when my I printed the invoice.
I will now have to call for the cost of work done since all I know for sure is the weekend cost of 135.00 out of the 409.00 invoice. Work was great and quick - thank you very much! Judy Potts.

Upon moving into a new house, I discovered that one of the HVAC units was not working properly. I called Dave Lane's, and Tyler came out that same day. After determining that the coil was leaking refrigerant, he found the manufacturer warranty information, and he even helped me transfer the warranty to my name from the previous owner. He ordered a new coil which Christian came out to install a few days later.
Since it was raining that day (which prevents pinpoint refrigerant charging verification), Christian made sure to come back the following week to make sure that the refrigerant charging was accurate. Unlike other companies that use bumbling answering services, Dave Lane's stays on top of customer communication with phone calls, emails, and texts, so you are never left wondering when your calls will be answered or when someone will be arriving at your house. If you are looking for a responsive, professional HVAC outfit that makes sure the job is done correctly, look no further.

Excellent Service! Came out on a Friday evening after hours. Sadly, our compressor was DEAD! Joe returned on Saturday morning w/ 2 portable A/C units to hold us thru the weekend. What a life saver! He presented us with 3 quotes for replacement and explained the differences thoroughly. Appreciated the information and no pressure! After we made a decision he returned on Tuesday morning. Received an email / an ETA & Joe and his helper/crew arrived on time!

My husband and I could have have been happier with Joe and Chris. On top of being professional, they were extremely educational. We replaced all of our ducts and everything they did they explained it in detail to my husband to make sure we understood our system. Will definitely call them for any AC/heating needs. We recently remodeled a kitchen and bathroom and all of those sub contractors were rough and aggressive and caused damage in our house and never cleaned after themselves. Joe and Chris were very considerate of our house and did a great job cleaning up any mess they made. That meant a lot to us.

I have used Dave Lane AC for 20 years; they have replaced my AC unit and furnace when needed. I always ask for Jesse, one of the techs, whenever I have a problem, as well as for my routine checks. He is prompt and courteous, knowledgeable and addresses my questions thoroughly. Most importantly, he always diagnoses the problem and fixes it. I think they are lucky to have him as an employee.
