Due to my not being personally registered through Google, I am writing this review through my business e-mail account which is registered to my business associate. My name is Jeff Diamond and here's what I have to say about Royal Air: TRULY, AS GOOD AS IT GETS! Nine years ago, my wife and I employed the services of Royal Air to install an updated heating and air conditioning system in our 1930's constructed home in Brookline.
From the 'get-go' the entire company was most impressive: Extensive analysis of our household needs Multiple proposal scenarios and cost options Provision of timely installation services Attention to detail Cleanliness in interior functioning Use of shoe protectors Daily and thorough cleanups Respect of home interior furnishings The newly installed system was and is top quality.
It does everything that was promised and does it with sustained efficiency and durability. Fast forward from calendar year, 2013, to the here and now. We continue to be unduly impressed with Royal Air! Following our aforementioned installation, we entered into a service contract with Royal Air to maintain our newly installed systems. True to form, and NOT typically a quality found in most companies, Royal Air has maintained the highest levels of maintenance and responsiveness to the systems that they installed.
Their staff -.top ownership and staff - continue to be impressive and impeccable in service maintenance and responsiveness. It's a rarity in these days and times to find a Company that stands behind their products and services. Royal Air exemplifies the standard through which other companies should be measured. It's a Company that can be counted on and DELIVERS what it promises. Bravo to Royal Air from a highly satisfied customer. Couldn't be more pleased.

I have done business with Royal Air for approx. 25 yrs and they never fail to be extremely responsive in their maintenance and repairs to my systems when required. It is hard to find a company like this that actually takes pride in the services they supply to their customers. They truly understand the meaning of customer service and excel at it.

Good and prompt service! I called in on Sunday for a dying pilot flame, and after on-the-phone diagnosis, the on-call technician actually advised to wait until Monday if we can manage, since they're pretty sure what it is and they have the part, but we don't have to pay emergency charge ($250). They came over on Monday and fixed it with no issue. Really appreciated that they looked out for customers!

Have been doing business with them since they installed my central air sysytem in my home. I have an annual maintenance contract with them for both my gas heating system and my AC system. They are very responsive, very professional, show up when they say they are, and very thorough. Would highly recommend for for any and all HVAC needs. Outstanding customer service.

Could not possibly have done a better job, from initial phone call to taking care of the rebate. The work was completed professionally and quickly despite the emergency in the dead of winter, and they even dropped off space heaters for the one day I had to wait. Highly recommend. John came today to replace the pressure gauge on the boiler that was ordered for me last week and was now available. He explained everything he was doing and told me why. This is a great company. They offer responsive, thorough, and effective service. Beyond that they are super friendly and spent time to educate me on proper use and approach during very cold winters. John came today and he was awesome--smart, kind, knowledgeable. He was an all around great guy who taught me a lot. Highly recommend.

John came out to help figure out what was wrong with our upstairs heating unit. Within minutes, our system was back up and running. John provided insight on the problem and walked me through some other questions I had about our overall heating and hot water system. Overall, Royal Air was responsive to my initial call about our heating problem, sent someone out the next day and got it resolved quickly so the kids and ourselves can all sleep in heated rooms.

I had them come out to repair an a/c unit. I didn't have a cover on the a/c unit and I wanted to buy one. So I asked that they measure the unit so I would purchase the right size. I was told not to even buy one as they are not good. Which is true as I researched it, you are better off to put a board over it. Anyway, I was charged 43.00 for them to measure the unit.
First off they did not itemize the bill, so I asked them to do that, and that is when I saw the $43.00 charge to measure the unit that took a minute. After 6 months they decided to take the $43.00 off the bill. At least they did the right thing in the end but, I will not use them in the future. They did fix the a/c unit.

Recently called the "local place" to get a price on replacing a Furnace and A/C unit. We had used them in the past to get our roof A/C running, but this time where it was a replacement issue and a costly one at that we decided to get a few quotes for the work. After doing so it quickly became clear we had to go in a different direction we had quotes for 50% less and are getting the whole job done for 1/2 price of the quote they provided. Now that is worth shopping around. Saving 7000.00 dollars!

Joe and {I'm sorry I forgot your name} were very helpful and came over on the Saturday and Sunday before Christmas. One of the bedrooms in our house was really hot and would not cool down so royal air sent someone over right away. The first day joe came a fixed some valve that was free of charge. It was perfect temperature in the bedroom after an hour. The second day we noticed it was now too hot in the kitchen. Someone else came over and fixed something else free of charge. Very quick service Thanks

Our family has used this company for a number of years to replace two heating systems and water heaters in our home in Andover. They installed the systems and serviced them well over the years and have provided clear information about pricing and service options. They even filled out the paperwork and envelopes for warranties and applicable rebates on some of the products. We have appreciated their help over the years and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

My house was affected by the Columbia Gas explosions and we will not have heat or hot water for at least 2 months. I called Royal Air Systems to install an electric water heater that I bought myself so my family has hot water. They refused to. I told them I would return it and I would pay them for the electric water heater. They still refused. First, the reason had to do with what they would have to charge me.
I could care less what they charge me. I have an open claim with Columbia Gas. Then the reason was they would have to come back and reverse it and they want to touch anything related to what Columbia Gas is doing. I've been using Royal Air Systems since we converted from oil to natural gas in 2001. A loyal customer. In time of need they decided they didn't want to help my family. I don't take any pleasure in writing a review like this but i think it's necessary given the circumstances.

Today we woke up to no heat. We called Royal Air and over the phone they walked us through solving the problem. They stayed on the phone with us for about 20 minutes until the heat came back on. We have used this company for over a dozen years to service our furnace. They installed our new furnace when the one that came with the home died. Every person we have dealt with to service the furnace has been super helpful and professional. They are not out to make a buck and are so service oriented. Wish there were more companies run like this one!

Our central air did not work well upstairs with the single zone. Arthur came over and we discussed various options. With the summer we had I knew we needed to do something and we decided to bite the bullet and have a whole heating and cooling system added as a second zone. Cassandra was awesome with planning the scope of work, proposing various options, and getting the work scheduled very quickly.
Her knowledge and expertise certainly attributed to such a pain free process. The technician, Tim, was there from start to finish and was great. He and the other guys finished the work in about 4 days and we barely even knew they were there. The work was done quickly, efficiently, and so far the cooling system has been fantastic. Well worth the money spent! I can't speak highly enough about the professionalism and quality of work from Royal Air.

Had a new central unit installed by JD Heating and Air of Lexington. They completely screwed me over. So I called Royal! Best thing I ever did in my life. The tech was on time and stayed until, as he put it, "you won't HAVE to call ME back out!" Man oh man! This guy is THOROUGH and VERY knowledgeable. I followed him around asking questions and he answered every one with patience and accuracy. If you need HVAC work done, RUN - don't walk to these guys!

Just a few days before this weekend's big freeze, my recently serviced furnace acted up and wasn't kicking in. I called Royal Air Systems at 6:30pm on a Friday, got their answering service, and expected to hear back on Monday. Instead I had someone at my house at 9pm! Amazing service, and a quick and free diagnosis (it was my thermostat, not the furnace).

In fairness, this is going back a couple years, and so I hoped they've improved. We used Royal Air because a co-worker absolutely raved about them. Not me. They really had trouble making it through traffic to get to us - on several occasions. Without question, traffic sucks. But that's not news. Schedule differently, or don't take the job if you can't do it.
It seemed like a rush job. Their electrician wired one of the units incorrectly and it blew out a fuse on the unit (rather than starting a fire, phew!). Also, their charges for the "pads" or bases for the outdoor units were basically heavy-duty plastic. Non-reactive I suppose, but a rip-off for what they charged and sure as heck not a concrete pad.
The corker: the total price they charged, I've come to learn, was high compared to others. A LOT of money. So, ultimately, did the job get done? Absolutely. Would I recommend them? Sorry, no.

After dealing with 2 other contractors to diagnose a significant problem with our heating system (they offered no help) we called Royal Air on the recommendation of neighbors who had had excellent experiences. We did and could not be more pleased. They were out 3 times each time incrementally trying additional solutions so as to control cost. Allen, Jose and Jamie were all involved and exhibited a very high level of expertise.
We actually thought there might not be a solution but the Royal Air team continued to pursue, and. the problem was identified and solved. We thought the cost was extremely fair given the commitment in time, labor and parts. C.F. Lexington, MA

I always go to Yelp for reviews before I hire someone to do work for us. After calling a few companies in the area, Royal Air was by far the best choice for us for a couple of reasons. First, they had the most competitive price by far. Other companies told me that our job would be "tricky" and one even said we couldn't hide the pipes in the walls. Royal air said the job would be very straightforward and hiding the pipes inside would be easy.
And it was! They were the most professional and honest company I found on our search for an ductless air conditioning installer. The job was complete in just one day and we are very happy. Their high standards for customer service and honesty is hard to come by these days. I will definitely use them again when we put a/c on our 1st floor and I have referred them to many of my friends.

I'd initially rated their service a 1 for what I thought was a completely unfair charge of $83 for a 4 min job of reconnecting two wires (with no additional wire added) that mice had chewed up on my outside AC unit. There already was a trip charge of $89. After contacting the owner about the disproportionate charge, he agreed to follow up with the service technician and get back to me. making no promises at the time.
I didn't hear back so I decided to follow up a few days later at which time he agreed that I should have been given the opportunity to know the cost upfront and thus have the option to decide to perform the repair myself. Since I hadn't been afforded that opportunity he agreed to refund the service charge.

I called Royal Air Systems to take a look at my heating and cooling system; the system was not running properly, there were issues with the zones and I needed someone to fix it. The first time I called to set up an appointment was in early June. Appointment 1: The first technician who came out was extremely late, and had no idea what was wrong. After several hours he decided to call it quits and told me a "senior technician" would need to come look at the system (I was asked to pay the service/diagnostic fee).
Appointment 2: This senior technician came out and looked the system over and said it was the motors that needed to be replaced. Appointment 3: This was supposed to be the replacement of the motors; however, the technician did not bring the motors, instead he reiterated everything the Senior technician had said to me at Appointment 2, which was a complete waste of time.
Appointment 4: This was supposed to be the appointment where someone came out to change the motors, which was deemed to be the problem. (NOTE: Between appointment 3 and 4 were 3 full weeks to order the part). On the day of this appointment, the technician was extremely late so I called the office. The office told me that they didn't have the parts, and it would be pointless to send someone out.
How did they not have the part, when they had 3 weeks to order it?! Appointment 5: Another technician came out to change out the motors, but come to find out the motors were working. It was something else that was the problem; the entire damper system was not opening and closing, as it should. How did technician 1 and senior technician 2 not discover this on their first 3 visits? Needless to say the problem was not fixed.
I received a phone call from the, the owner, it may have been his voice, but he was rude on the phone and told me that his men could not fix the dampers, it was too complicated and I should contact the people who installed it. IF I KNEW WHO INSTALLED IT, I WOULD HAVE CONTACTED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! He said he would call me the following week to see what could be done, but never did.

Royal Air Systems installed our whole home air conditioner. We were very impressed with the cusgtomer service, professionalism and fair pricing. Arthur went through everything with us, explained what we needed and what we did not. Alex was very knowlegable and professsional at the instal. Royal Air was so good that we had them fix a ductless system in a rental unit we own. If you are looking for an honest, reliable, and locally owned firm to install or service and AC, look no further.
