HomeTech replaced our evaporator coil in Sept 2021. Worked fine until early May 2022. They have had 5 different technicians out over the last 5 weeks. Each has diagnosed a different problem, each pointing back to the system being overcharged by 5lbs of Freon when the coil was replaced. They quoted a price for repairs that would cover the parts under warranty but not the labor.
The labor that they did. We got a second opinion from another provider who agreed that not only did the overcharge lead to the failures but also that the freon installed during the coil replacement was contaminated. Their quote to do the work HomeTech recommended was $300 less. Their quote to do the repairs that they thought were needed was roughly the same price. 5 technicians, 5 misdiagnosis in 4 weeks.
Each pointing back to the previous technicians incompetence. "he should have done this". "Not sure how he missed that". Don't bother talking to Chuck Williams, Ryan, or Tom Rode. None are willing to provide any customer support or come to a reasonable agreement. EG. when we requested Ryan provide us with our service history file it was not delivered in the time he indicated and, when I followed up, his justification was that the person responsible for fulfilling such requests was out of office, had no back up, it would take another week and, while he had the systemic access to the records, he was "not going to do it." Further, Ryan was also unwilling to price match for the work HomeTech said was needed to repair the damage that they caused. Do NOT do business with HomeTech. If I could give them zero or negative stars I would. I repeat, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOMETECH. -Stephen Brooks

Robert J, tech # 1038, came to my home to do a general electric checkup as well as a smoke detector check (there are six here). he was kind, patient and knowledgeable. all six batteries were replaced. then he checked their hard wiring behind a panel, tightened everything in that panel, fixed an outlet and made sure everything electric was in safe working order. Robert was polite and eager to make certain i was comfortable with everything he had done. Home-Tech, in general, is a responsible and reliable company. thank you, Robert!

Called about my refrigerator which failed to come back on after a 5 hour power outage. I was quoted $140 for the first 30 minutes but was actually charged $169 - Strike 1! The tech could not diagnose the refrigerator and went online to GE for diagnostics. He said one of the control boards had failed but couldn't tell which one it was so we would need both. Quoted over $900 for the repairs with no estimate as to when they would have the parts - Strike 2!
Clearly not worth putting that much money into an 8 year old refrigerator so we decided to purchase a new one that had a 4 day delivery lead time. I did some research online and found out how to reset the refrigerator (back to factory settings). Plugged the fridge back in, followed the instructions, and voila - everything came back on and ran normally.
I waited 2 days to make sure everything was working and sure enough - all good. Canceled the new fridge - loaded it back up and it's been running normally ever since. Why couldn't the service tech do that? Strike 3! Home Tech sent me a text asking about the service, so I called them back. The person on the phone was only interested in talking to me about purchasing a service agreement and wasn't listening to a word I was saying about my experience.
She was so intent on reading her script that she wasn't paying attention to any of the answers I was giving. Finally, I asked her to pay attention to what I was saying about the $169 experience I had which almost led to an unnecessary refrigerator replacement $$$$. She said she would let the manager know but here I am with no call from anyone at Home Tech. Lost count of the strikes! Won't make that mistake again.

Seth showed up on time with a heads up call about ten minutes prior. As A new customer I had requested a plumbing inspection. Seth went through everything ensure that that was in working order and then he saw no future problems. The main shut off valve was not operating properly and within 10 minutes he replaced it with a better designed and useful option. I'm glad Home tech has my back.

Last week, Jeremy#983 came to our home at Gateway Greens to perform our yearly plumbing inspection. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional & nice. Jeremy found minimal repairs which he quickly fixed. He also pointed out items that would help us save dollars on future water bills. Bottom line - Jeremy is Great.

Our homeowner's association has a service contract with Home-Tech to cover the two air conditioners in our clubhouse. One of the A/C units that was installed in 2016 has failed. They say parts are not available for the repair and refuse to honor the service contract. Instead, they want over $4000 to replace the entire unit. They are giving us some BS story on why the A/C is not covered by the service contract. I will update this review after our Association attorney gets resolution.

SCAM. My parents were home-tech customers for 20 years. Got conned into buying an air conditioner with "lifetime warranty". It had to be completely replaced multiple times. Broke again while my mom was dying of cancer. Were told that we had to pay for parts because "if you read the fine print the lifetime warranty only lasts 10 years". I paid to fix it because my mom would have been heartbroken to learn she got scammed. Never do business with HomeTech!

We have a new home warranty contract through HomeTech, and we are so glad that we have it! Our washer recently stopped working, so we called HomeTech, and Matt came out to take a look and ended up having to order a bunch of parts for the repair. The parts would only be a few days, which is good considering the current world we live in. The next day, Tim from the appliance sales division called and offered us a good sum of money towards a new washer if we wanted to forego the repair.
We decided to take them up on the offer and we got money towards a new washer and dryer, delivered and fully installed with new hardware. I would very much recommend HomeTech to anyone who is purchasing a new home for the peace of mind for their appliance and A/C.

On Dec. 2, 2021 Home-Tech performed my annual AC inspection/testing. This year Seth was my tech and he was great. After performing the gauge testing on the condensing unit. Seth told me that the freon in the system was over pressurized, which we both agreed was odd, since nothing has been doe to the system and why didn't this show up in 2020. Seth reported this to the office, the very next day a tech was to test and resolve, . I appreciated the finding and response.

From start to finish - thank you Greg (899) and Lindsay (1034) for providing outstanding and professional service on 10/28! I must say that Home-Tech has been excellent from day one, and I greatly appreciate the excellent work that was provided by Greg and Lindsay. Also, I would like to thank the manager Ryan for getting the part and service scheduled within such a short time period - thank you Ryan!

We just had Seth out to do our AC annual service. He did an excellent job! He was very thorough in checking the system and fixing a few issues at the same time. We have been with Home-Tech for years, and many times the experience is just not what it should be. But ask for Seth to be your AC Tech you wont regret it! Service: Cleaning

Garrett #1036 serviced our AC yesterday morning per our maintenance agreement with Home-Tech and did an excellent job. Called in advance of arrival with an expected ETA, arrived on time, serviced our AC, gave us a verbal and written summary, and moved on to his next assignment. Well mannered, professional and polite gentleman. Exactly what I would expect from a good professional technician. My compliments.

Bryan was my maintenance man. It was our first appointment with Home-Tech. Bryan was courteous and very professional. He explained everything he was performing and gave me tips on maintenance. He replaced my air filters with new ones. He was very polite to my wife during her questions. Great asset to Home-Tech.

Seth #1037 called to say he was on his way, He checked everything that was normally checked. Spent time working on my overflow system. When installed they only ran one outside drain. It had I think he said there was something growing in the pipe. He put something into the system followed up with many bottles of hot water and he was able to clear the problem. He was very thorough.

This company is a rip off. I had a newer microwave oven and the door started slipping so my husband called a Frigidaire appliance repair in Bonita Springs. First thing the repairman said to me was the door wasn't broken. It was supposed to drop! Dah! Last thing he said $137.00 later was get a new one. Do not use this company!

I needed the evaporator coil in my 3 year old A/C unit replaced. The part was covered under warranty but the labor was my responsibility. They did a nice job on the repair but their labor costs were totally unreasonable. They charged me $1000 for 3 hours of labor and maybe $50 worth of material. Later, after checking around, I find that that job should cost between $600 and $700.
Their prices are totally outrageous. Oh, and don't fall for their "first call's on us" advertisement. It's their way of trying to up-sell you a service contract. Beware!

Have Home-Tech on both our personal home and our rental home. Over a month ago now, had issues with A/C at both locations. Replacement was recommended and was told that we would be called for quote. No calls. We called two days ago to inquire as to why we haven't received call as we were told we would, was told that inquiry would be transmitted to manager and we would receive call. STILL NO CALL. Our personal home agreement expires today.

I scheduled a routine Grill and Filter cleaning with Home Tech. Brandon, Tech #1026, noticed some issues with the AC Units and proceeded to fix the issue. He was scheduled for 30 minutes arriving promptly at 8:00 am with a 7:30 am call. Brandon spent 4 hours at my home ensuring everything with the AC units and thermostats were fixed correctly. He way exceeded my expectations for a routine service. Brandon cares about his work, ensures everything is operating properly and has the attitude that if he discovers a problem, he is going to spend whatever amount of time it takes to correct it and correct it properly. I was very impressed with the service he provided. On top of that, his nice, easy going temperament was a true pleasure. What an awesome experience.

Purchased a washing machine from Home tech. The first problem the washer was leaking which they repaired in a week. Three months later it quit working. They sent a technician who said is was a board A week later he came back. Installed the board and left. The washer still didn't work. Sent out another technician He said need more parts. Now there saying another two weeks before they can repair it. Will be 30days without a washer. Used to be a good company.

Spent $344 with Home-Teck to repair a refrigerator capacitor and service plan. Then after 10 days stopped getting cold again they came back and told me it was the compressor and it would cost $1,100 to replace the compressor. I checked online and a compressor for that model was $155. A new similar new model refrigerator cost under $1200 at Lowes. I canceled my contract after reading all the reviews on Yelp and received nothing back. So I spent $344 on a worthless refrigerator. IMO they never repaired the refrigerator properly because since new the compressor was loud and after their repair it was quiet.

I have used Home Tech for many years, however, I recently took over my Mom's finances and she had been using Home Tech for years also. I noticed that my renewal agreement was $200.00 more than my Mom's. In trying to find out the reason as to the difference, I was told that my A/C was older than hers. My Mom did in fact get a new A/C unit last year, however, the amount of her contract the year prior was still cheaper than mine.
My Mom's condo is on the 2nd floor and her appliances practically belong in a museum! Her A/C unit prior to being replaced, was actually 20 years + old and still running. The contracts are exactly the same coverage. I am still waiting for some 'manager' to call me back to justify the difference. I have been trying for the past four weeks to do this.
I was passed onto Maggie, who took 2 weeks to call me back after she initially called me and her customer service skills, excuses and reasoning was insulting. So, it seems that Home Tech just pick $ amounts of their contracts without any rhyme or reason. My renewal was quote at $719.00 - how can they justify that when my appliances and A/C unit are only a few years old? We are never likely to spend this amount in a year!

Home tech. installed a new A/C unit and air handler. I have had issues with the AC not working from the second month after installation! It's supposed to be under warranty. Trying to get someone out to my home to honor the repairs is hideous! It's like pulling teeth! Plus my air handler is not copper piping! Apparently it's the cheapest aluminum piping could you can get! Which has caused me nothing but a headache since day one! Don't use them for any air conditioning purchases!

These people need to be investigated. Seems like the same story over an over when you read the reviews. We were lied to as well and told that we would have it fixed in two days and two days later we called to Follow up. Were told that the parts were on order. Later that afternoon someone called to say it would cost way more than what we were told and that they need a cc to order the parts. Lol. Run away from these folks. They are criminal. We live Punta Gorda and we were for sure services if that's what u call it by these ppl.

We received a home tech warranty as part of our home purchase at closing. A couple of months after the closing our air conditioner stopped working. We called Home Tech, who diagnosed the problem as old age and said the unit needed to be replaced. I asked what was wrong with it and why it could not be fixed, and was told that it was just old and past it's useful life.
At this point all the tech had done was pretty much flipped the breaker on the air conditioner and turned the thermostat on and off. My house was at 90 degrees and home tech told me the air conditioner was working properly for a unit that old. It had been cooling my house to 76 the a couple days before. I called another company to come out for a second opinion and they told me the fan motor needed replaced.
I called home tech to let them know what was actually wrong with it. Home tech finally agreed to replace the fan motor, and my air conditioner has worked fine since. Home tech then contacted the person who purchased the home warranty for us to complain about how much it had cost them to fix the air conditioner. Now that I am ready to replace the air conditioner, because yes, it is old, loud, and inefficient (yet still working properly with a replaced fan motor) I will not be calling home tech.

RIP OFF. ***$8000 AIR CONDITIONER. Five repairs in 2 years. Still not right. Only now they want to charge $159 for a service call. I guess the 100% parts and labor warranty is not really a 100% parts and labor warranty. Their home warranty is even worse.if that's even possible. STAY AWAY. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

This was a very bad experience w/ Home-Tec Bonita Springs, FL. I called for a broken switch repair on my 3 year old dyer. They did not want to repair the switch but wanted to sell me a new one! I said, no I want it repaired if for no other reason than I had a new floor and did not want it potentially damaged, not to mention the cost difference. They said the repair would be $150 for the part and would be in in 3 business days or less, this was on top of the $175.00 house call (THEY PUT THIS IN WRITING) and then they took another $100 deposit to assure that I would not cancel the parts order.
They said they would order the part right away which they did not do, late the next day a very rude woman called and said that the part would cost $200 more than they had estimated, at that point my dryer was taken apart so I said to go ahead under duress. I called day after day and Twelve days later, I still had no dryer! Beware, this firm is a perfect example of a bate and switch scheme.
I finally got my dryer repaired after lots of inconvenience to me and calls to them. I would never use them again. I should of read the better business reviews where you see how worthless their warranty program is that they PUSH HARD!

Have bought the "Gold Service" agreement for the last 2 years. We only did it because we knew our A/C unit was old and was told that this Gold plan (for $550) would get us emergency service and cover repairs or at least company discounts on replacement unit. Our A/C did go out. A service guy came the next day after we called. He said he tried to fix it but couldn't.
He left and said someone will be calling right away to set up a time to replace it. No one called, so we had to call 3 hours later to ask what was happening. They sent another guy to check if the first guy was right. He came and said the compressor was dead but they could replace it for free under the terms of our prepaid contract. The next morning, the manager called and said it will cost $5000 to replace the entire unit.
He said they do NOT repair old units.(of course, that would cost them money and justify our prepaid contract) We still have not been contacted by anyone about when they could install a new unit! Their GOLD brochure says you get concierge service when you buy the contract. Ha! I have already arranged with another company to install a new unit today.one phone call. Just our advice.save your money and DO NOT buy a service agreement from these people. Their customer service is absolutely non existant.

My dryer was not functioning and a Home Tech service technician indicated that a part needed to be ordered. I paid a service visit charge and a deposit for the part to be ordered. I was informed the following day that the part was no longer available and my deposit would be refunded. After a week, I called to find out why my deposit was not yet refunded - I was told it was in process.
After two weeks and no refund, I called and was told someone would contact me about the refund - I received no callback. After a month and no refund, I called again and was told the service manager would contact me - he never did. I finally had to call my credit card company to get my deposit refunded through a dispute. Were they ever intending to refund my deposit?

We have had a service agreement with Home-Tech for our AC, appliances, plumbing, and electrical for about 6 years now. Service is prompt and the service technicians are always knowledgeable and professional. They take all the hassle and worry out of repairs. Highly recommend their service agreements!

This operation is highly unethical. I needed a 30 gal water heater replaced. The heater is under warranty. The wanted to replace the expansion tank for $87, said I need to pay for a permit for $107, pay for warranty service for $75. Then wanted another $650 to actually do the work. My local maintenance person did the job for half the price including a $50 warranty fee and rebuilding the door do the new tank would fit. Do not hire these guys.

Visit after visit - my response is still. WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT HOME-TECH? We have an English Bulldog and air conditioning during the summer months is a NEED to have, not a nice to have for him. Our AC unit is about 10 years old, and instead of recommending we buy a new one, they are still coming out to service our unit. We do have a service agreement on all appliances in our home with them, but air is the only we've needed to call on. Three years later, we are still VERY happy Home-Tech customers. I'd recommend them to anyone out there!
