Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value ACME's technicians improperly installed an A/C unit at one of my rental properties. They had to come out every few months to fix the same problem. Technicians were rude to female tenants. ACME has left threatening voicemails about late invoices and also threatened to come steal my tenant's air conditioner. Services: A/C system maintenance, Install AC, A/C system repair

We have used ACME air 3 times now. The first after 3 other companies told us there was nothing we could do, we needed a new system (and that was 7 years ago!) You know, each time the air stops we hold our breath thinking this is it. We call in a panic. The office staff is great and works hard to get someone to us ASAP. The technicians we have had are always friendly, get the job done quick, and get the job done right. On top of that they are so affordable. I call ACME every time because I trust they are not going to take advantage of me or my family.

Ac would not cool. I called Acme. They came out the next day as planned. They informed me of the issue and told me they could complete repairs the following day. As I was told, they were here in the morning to complete repairs. The repair men were professional and answered my questions. I am very happy with the service. They were prompt and completed all work in a timely manner. I will use this company in the future for any further repairs or replacement.

Very bad, would be a kind description. Office "ladies" and staff who performs service are polite and great. Owner "Lauren" (male) is a user who follows direction from owner of local distributor GEMAIRE Distributors, LLC. The Gemaire owner literally told me that he tells his customers (Acme Air - Lauren) to charge as much as they can depending on, heat, availability and need of end user customer.

He told me this, after Lauren told me the same and send owner of Gemaire would call me.

Had given good service for last couple years, not cheap, but not usurious ....BUT given first opportunity to gauge for air handler blower motor, did so.

BAD BAD BAD and if you contact an AC place in SP ask if they buy from Gemaire. If so, call someone else.

I was behind this work van driving today. This guy was cutting people off, also did not once use a blinker. think of kids walking across the road before you speed like that, also bad for buisness when you drive like that. Not cool.

I called Gulf Coast for service and the response time was great. I had a leak. I knew I had a leak, that's why I called. The tech looked at the date tag and based on that, said it needed replacement. He added 1 pound of Freon and told me how it would cost hundreds of dollars alone to find the leak. You need a new unit. that's 5 grand he said. So basically I was charged $117 and told your screwed without any attempt to locate or fix the problem. Ray from Acme Air came by yesterday. "Before you spend the money on a replacement let's check it out".

He easily found the leak on top of a copper tube right on top of the riser tube easy to find and fix. Ray brazed the leak, cleaned and serviced the coils and unit, charged it up and watched to see all the pressures were steady and correct. It's cold in my house this morning. A/C cranking better than new. So unless you want to be ripped off and charged $117 to be told "You're screwed" and given an replacement estimate 20% ($1000) higher than the estimate from Acme for a replacement. I suggest waited the extra day for Acme, rather than calling someone who will be right out. When you do a great job, you're busy :) Thanks Ray!

Acme replaced a 18,000 btu through the wall a/c. I called late in the afternoon and they were there the next morning. The price was very fair and the installation was perfect. Doesn't get any better, thanks guys!

I have used Acme Air for over twenty years. They do a great job and are very responsive. When your air goes down, stress ensues and minutes feel like hours. That plus the fact it always seems to break down on the weekend.

While Acme AC may have the lowest prices it comes with service that reflects that. Our landlord had to use Acme to repair several holes in the ductwork and reattach some disconnected ducts. Not only did I have to essentially chase down the owner, Lauren, every time I called but he never showed up once on time either. The woman who answers the phone there, whose name I didn't catch, was EXTREMELY nice and very professional.

Too bad it isn't her company because she had to track down Lauren several times to get him on the phone to me and to ensure he called me back. If it weren't for her, I am certain he wouldn't have responded to our issue. That said, what company treats a potential customer that way? Don't want the business? Then turn it away, don't ignore people!

I was literally 9 + months pregnant with my second child and happened to be IN labor on 5/5 when he finally came out to inspect the duct work and issue. He didn't do anything but peek into the attic and walk through the house to feel the air blowing out of the vents. I'm not sure how he diagnosed anything or was able to give any kind of accurate quote with that little investigation but he did. Thankfully his technician who came to do the work was 1-on time, 2-called ahead as per our request & 3-EXTREMELY professional and took care of the problem.

The only reason I am giving Acme 2 stars is because of the technician. I was so put off by Lauren's treatment of us that I wanted to ask our landlord to use another company. Thankfully his staff is nothing like him.

I have had two experiences with Acme. While their tech was knowledgable and polite, their office staff (save the receptionist) is of poor quality. They do not call when they say they will (on multiple occasions). When I was informed that a matter could be handled that day, I was later informed that it may not be possible (but never given a definitive answer - that "answer" also came so late in the day that it made it impossible to seek other options for that day).

The lack of a service time call back had to serve as their final answer. When, on a previous occasion, they were informed that they were calling the wrong number they failed to correct their error and continued to call the wrong number a year later. (The male office staffer also reprimanded me for not answering my phone when they called, when they called the wrong number).

To follow up - I received a voicemail the day after I was originally told I would receive service telling me to call back if I wanted to receive service that day. I then received another call back from what appeared to be a different employee and I informed him that I sought assistance elsewhere. 1 week later and my mother, in another State, calls to tell me that someone from Acme called and left her a message thinking that they were calling my phone. The issue with them calling the wrong phone number was supposedly corrected on three prior occasions.

The repair man came out right away and gave us some options. Ultimately, we decided to put in central air in the home. We got about 4 different bids. We decided on Acme because they were cheaper (but not the cheapest of the bids) and they were the only ones who seemed to have a real plan about where and how the duct work and insulation would go.

They spent about a week total on putting in the central A/C and even put up with my nagging grandfather who had come to supervise them ; ) Great company I would definitely use them again.
