I am very disappointed by the service I received. Change A/C in july 2020. Since day one Icomplain about the A/c not cooling properly. Keep calling for month with no satisfaction. 3 month ago A/C stop working. They changed fan since it was still under warranty but they charge $675.00 to replace it in a 5 minutes work. Again, the same problem after 3 month.

The part is not available, I have to wait 14 days o more. The other alternative is to send a technician to come to my house to remove the motor to take it to another retailer to buy a new one. The labor to remove the motor will cost $ 125.00 an Hour and we are looking at 3 hours to remove it, then another 3 hours to 4 hours to put it back plus the price of the motor.

I am not recommending their services anymore. They don't know what is customer service and I am surprise they get a 3.3 rating on a scale of 5. One will describe them better. Nightmare!1*

Horrible service, took forever to come to my home and did not fix my AC properly. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

ELECTRICAL THIS OLD HOUSE HOLLYWOOD HISTORIC DISTRICT : I emailed, info@ehwhitson, a photo of the defective switch, John Lipka the owner called me, said he would have to order it. Called back, set up appointment. He saved a diagnosis trip, for something he could order. Chris arrived 5 minutes early, masked up, He reviewed our entire electrical system in our 1940's Hollywood home. Was very professional and is going to quote some much needed repairs to stop our lights flickering and power outages. Described one problem is our old dimmer switches do not support the LED bulbs, and replaced switch and it worked perfectly.

Perfect fit, impressed that they worked from photo. I look forward to working with a local contractor, here in Hollywood. They are also recommended by others living here. Great instant communication, professional, COVID aware, technically proficient, and personable.

Very disappointed to say the least. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt from the start as my experience was not ideal from the beginning. First off, nobody in this company is on the same page. I have to say most of my phone calls with these people were to remind them they had a prospective customer. meanwhile there was always shouting in the background as the woman always "wrote me down" for someone to call me back.

While I have to say that they do offer fair prices, that is about the only good thing about my experience. There is a serious mismanagement and miscommunication issue here. It is embarrassing when they show up on install day not knowing what is supposed to be done and not having any of the proper equipment or measurements and being unaware what was even on the proposal/ quote given to me.

I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because Allison refunded my payment so quickly in a condescending tone with no apology for all the inconvenience for paying them to come out on a day that I could be working but instead I dealt with incompetence.

They came out on the weekend, and saved the day. Price was very reasonable, and their customer service (CINDY) was awesome, and personable! I would recommend this company!

Critical: Quality, Value Paid a fortune for a complete electric upgrade. Way more than anyone else quoted. Had to pay another company thousands more to finish their incomplete job. The quality of work is sub standard. The guys working were more interested in smoking than working.

We have used EH for many things over the years. Busted pipe under our rental, bringing natural gas into our home, installing tankless water heater and again yesterday emergency situation. Tech and out within the hour. Crawled under the home and repaired the problem. Reliable and knowledgeable service.

My split a/c unit stopped working. Called these people. A man came and told me the motherboard had to be replaced. I was charged $100 and had to wait two weeks for the part. A second man came, installed the board and burned the compressor and told me that "he thought his co-worker had checked it, so that's why he did not" They RUINED my unit.

The shop wanted to charge me $400 for the motherboard. They burnt my unit and refused to take responsibility for ruining my unit. Their solution? $3,000 for a new unit. Never again, i will consider them, not even to touch my toilets. And neither should anybody else

Terrible company. Dragged their feet every step of the way. Screwed up the permitting for the job. Cancelled appointment with no notice (was left sitting around) and overall very rude to deal with. DO NOT USE.

Terrible customer service, they have been a nightmare to deal with! Cancelled a service appointment without calling me first (I'd taken time off of work to wait) and then reassured me that I'd be the first call of the day when I rescheduled. Didn't happen, and I had to call again to ask that they send someone out. Absolutely zero attention to customer service and satisfaction, was told "we had an emergency in a restaurant and that's our priority". I would not recommend this company.

We had a leak in our gas line. Our gas company recommended EH Whitson as a company that could repair. The company charged $386 to turn off the gas and let us know that they would need to come back and fix the actual piping for an estimate of $850. Our Ring cameras had the crew entering and leaving in 75 minutes and they came back with an invoice for 2 hours of labor. I should have reviewed BBB and Yelp before calling!

DO NOT use this company for your commercial freezer needs unless you want to have another company come out and fix what they did! They sent out a "service man" if that's what you want to call him who had no clue what he was doing. The owner of the company told me it'd be $105/hr plus the price of the part. Also told me the job SHOULD take under an hour, hour & half max. It took the guy 3 hours to figure out he had no clue how to fix it! This company is a joke & I hope they get what's coming to them. KARMA!

Had another a/c company come out for my annual maintenance check and the guy could not believe the huge hole left above the unit intake in the closet that should have been sealed up to prevent the warm air and dirt from going into the air system. I contacted whitson before the 1 year coverage ended and they blew me off and lied to me about calling me back, they had no intention. Both of their Techs checked the system and said nothing so I doubt they are well trained. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother who doesn't use Facebook. She has been a customer of Whitson for many many years and never had complaints. Six months ago she had a new compressor put in and was charged a fortune, I called around and there were cheaper places but she wanted to go with the company she trusted. After Irma, her house had no power for a week.

When it came on, the AC turned on and it blew warm air, and the outside piece was not coming on. She called Whitson to come out yesterday, and when she told the man that the outside piece was not turning on, he spent almost 2 hours inside looking at the inside piece. Nothing wrong(which she already knew). Then he went outside and proceeded to tell her the compressor needed to be replaced.

The same one she paid a fortune for 6 months ago. When she told him that HE WAS THE ONE WHO PUT IT IN, he said nothing, and when he gave her the bill she said no way, she will talk to manager. This morning the manager informed her that the work was guaranteed for 90 days only, she was responsible for the whole payment, but they could do it tomorrow.

She hung up on him, understandably. After all these years, they treat a valued customer that way. I called a friend of mine who is in the AC business, he went out an hour ago and looked at it for 30 seconds. He said the compressor was fine. Needed to release some pressure from the outside unit, which he did, and my mom has had cold AC the past hour. Didn't charge her a penny. Seems to me that Whitson has changed over the years and is now out for a buck any way they can, even to a senior citizen living on a very fixed budget. Shame on you. Nobody in our family or our friends will be calling you again. Crooks!

This is the second person EH whitson has sent to do the job and I am beyond shocked about how this company is in business. I will be reporting them to the BBB. The technician they sent out today arrived extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol. I didnt realize until he was in my apt and I felt extremely unsafe being along with him. I told him maintenance was coming to bring him a ladder and he sat down on his bucket he brought and completely passed out in my apartment.

The guy was wasted. I reported to my property manager that the guy was drunk and he apparently called EH whitson in the meantime and they apparently called him and asked him to pick up his stuff and leave my apartment. THANK G-d for that as I felt extremely uneasy being alone with this now passed out drunk, who was supposed to be from a reputable company.

Finally my property manager arrived and had a new tech from this same company and when I told him what happened, he said I am not the first person to make this complaint and the company was AWARE he had an alcohol problem. WHAT? How do they keep someone like this employed, driving a company vehicle and showing up to people homes while being an alcoholic.

He said, "Well I think the owner John just feels bad for him, they know he has an issue." I am sorry but this is unacceptable. He could have killed someone on the road, he could have hurt me, or caused damage to my appliance or in the building, this is a huge liability and will be taken up with the BBB and I expect a call from the owner to apologize and confirming this guy is no longer employed by your company.

The first guy they sent out- Lennie, showed up, did nothing and then wrote an invoice for $97 and I told him I was told it would be around $59. He said "it would be $59 if I need regular maintenance and you need much more than that" and I said well you didn't even run maintenance on the machine, you checked a valve. And he then called his company and I got the fee reduced to $62.

He also complained to me, and also to my lobby attendant that he had to pay $2 for valet. He raised his voice saying this is the first time as a contractor he had to pay for valet and he was taking that out on me. It's really unprofessional that he tried to take advantage of the situation like that and still the problem is not solved. NEVER USE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. BEWARE!

Came home Thursday afternoon, A/C unit was a solid block of ice. Called and left a message after hours to set up an appointment and sure enough, received a phone call by the friendly and professional staff by 7 am the next day asking if 8:30 am would work for me! Sean showed up, and within a short amount of time was able to determine the issue, replacement cost, and labor.

It was agreeable, and I paid by cc and left the job to him. Now, here is where my 5 star rating, and review, is justified. You see, I've known John the owner for a number of years, and although the opportunity to use his company hadn't been there since I've known him, I cold called the business to repair the unit. Upon returning, I discovered the job had turned out to need two technicians and involved quite a bit of more labor than anticipated-definitely more than the estimate I was given. Was a pleasant surprise to be told, "nope, we quoted you a price and that's what the price is.

We stand by it." Sean, the second tech Mike, stayed on the job until the job was done and done right. Also met the Supervisor (sorry, the name escaped me) who stopped by to check on the now complicated job. Wonderful professionalism. I looked over the unit after they departed and I was impressed with the care they took and work product they produced. Overall, very pleased with the company. John, your employees are a reflection of your business, and they are representing your brand well.

If you are reading this then you are already ahead of the game. I made the mistake of using them for a large home improvement. Please look at their reviews and consider calling someone else first. The owner is a friendly older man but once you sign on the dotted line you will never hear or see from him again. It's been a nightmare for me. I wish I could rate negative stars.

They are very hostile and rude on the phone. They do not back up their work like they say. Just another Florida company ripping off decent customers. They are not a part of the BBB for a reason. Hope this helps you. I wish I had looked at their reviews first.

Called this company on their coupon for duct cleaning. They arrived and refused to do the work, quoted me $2000 to clean the unit and never got back to me with an estimate on another issue. Another company ended up doing the same job for $300 and everything is great
