I have done business with MSCO for many years. Our technician, Rick, is superb in every respect. Rick is excellent in terms of technical competence as well as professionalism. Rick has many years of related HVAC experience and invariably keeps up with innovation. We would never think of doing business with anyone else especially as long as Rick is a part of MSCO

There were two techs sent to my house. One was Leon. Not sure about the other gentleman's name. Both were spot on professional and courteous. I've been an MSCO customer for quite a few years and have been on their maintenance service agreement the whole time. I have been uniformly impressed with the technicians they send out. I hope they continue to maintain the same standard in all the employees they hire. It has served them well.

Extremely happy with the service and repair that MSCO performed today. Can't say enough about the professional and polite service we received from the technician Tommy who showed up early and solved my heat pump issue and also serviced my heat pump. I had my entire home system replaced with MSCO a few months ago. Service and price from the beginning was by far the best of all the other companies I shopped. Robert wasn't the pushy salesperson like the others I experience elsewhere. He took the time to educate and explain things while doing an estimate and in the end was able to provide a much better rated system at a much better price than anywhere else!
The installation team was great! All were very professional, kept things clean, and completely the install quickly. Today I just had my first maintenance visit and Leon continued my positive experience. He was very professional, informative, and thorough. I would highly recommend MSCO!

I don't often leave reviews, but: it was one of the coldest nights of the year, on a Saturday, and my heat pump and thermostat stopped working. Called MSCO; Rick called me back within an hour. He was patient, informative, and he walked me through a diagnosis and minor repair over the phone. Extremely helpful. A fast and effective mechanical service experience, could not have asked for more.

What GREAT customer service! I called this morning and within 2 hours a technician was on his way to our home. The part needed was in stock and another technician came within an hour to install the device and we had heat. The technicians were very thorough and quick and thoroughly explained the problem. We will never use anyone else from here on out. Thank you to everyone, including the administrative staff who got the ball going. GREAT JOB!

I called since my downstairs unit was not working with temperature at 54 degrees. My service call was responded in person within 1&1/2 hours on Sunday by Leon who was extremely polite and concise in describing what my issue would be. He mentioned right off that my inducer was quite loud which indicated it could be going bad. He suggested turn off the emergency gas switch in the house and back on.
We did it several times to ensure the furnace came on and stay on which it did. He punted out the age of the unit and also the wires to clean that connects to the flames. He suggested a call from MSCO to come out with a free estimate on a new furnace. He made me feel comfortable in explaining one simple ways in which the furnace worked. In a stressful situation, he made the situation a comforting and pleasant experience. I would definitely consider MSCO for my next furnace needs. Thank you Leon.

This service was my winter HVAC check-up. Upon inspection, it was found that a part in the furnace was going bad, and the technician made the repair at that time. He was thorough and professional. Leon did excellent job determining the cause of unusual increase in last months electric bill. Turns out our old thermostat was defective. Installed new one without difficulty. Both upstairs and downstairs units functioning normally. He was prompt, courteous and pleasant. A real credit to MSCO in Va Beach, VA. Recommend their HVAC installation and service contracts highly. MSCO is wonderful to work with. The staff is great and they have been our HVAC company for years. Everyone from the scheduling to the service personnel are terrific. We have two HVAC Units which we purchased at different times from Mechanical Services. It was time for the servicing and Rick came over to service both units. He arrived with all the appropriate PPC (mask and shoe covers).
He was very polite and aware to also practice social distancing. We had inquired about their new Para Air Plasma Pure Air Filtration System and he brought them with him and the information sheet. Rick did a very thorough job in. Servicing both units. He checked everything and had good suggestions for us. We highly recommend MSCO for any of your HVAC needs. Their prices are reasonable and their technicians are the BEST!

MSCO from start to finish is the most amazing and professional HVAC company I have worked with to resolve heating and cooling issues. Great praise to David and Daniel. First off, I can't speak to their work. Didn't hire them. I can however speak to their professionalism. En route to a job, one of their mechanics clearly had no idea where he was, slammed on the brakes right after crossing a bridge once realizing he almost passed his destination, causing a three car collision, involving The car in front of me, myself, and the car behind me.
All were hit except him.and he drove away with no worry. After speaking to him, He told me his manager advised him to not get involved with any of us at all and just continue working. After calling the manager, I was basically told it's not his problem and to leave him out of it. While by law, sure. He's correct. I find this level of liability shows how he conducts his business.
Not taking any ownership of causing a car collision shows a lack of morals, and reveals what kind of games they'd be willing to play for a buck, or lack of shelling one out. The car behind me had a small kid in it who got whiplash from the accident. The accident could have been worse, and the manager could not have cared less.

Where do I start? Okay, the beginning, called to have the HVAC checked out for the up coming season and found their idea of accommodation was little to be found. Almost two weeks later someone arrived and started to work. After about an hour all was reported in good condition. Hey, okay then. No so fast--we noticed a strong draft coming from the sliding door to the unit.
The mechanic had left it open and anyone could just come right in. Later that night a loud banging kept us up at night. Yes the mechanic had not closed the door to our unit. This is not attending to details. This is not a concerned or caring approach to doing things right and correctly. Call someone else. Don't waist your time or money with this nonchalant attitude. You can do better!

If I could give them a 0, I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had them evaluate our home and install a brand new heating and air conditioner in 2015. We then signed on for their suggested service plan. For years, we asked about green mold growing along the exterior wall. They said it was just sweating. However, a different company identified an incorrectly installed condensation line that was basically just running from the attic along the wall of the house.
When we called and asked them to explain why this was missed, THE MANAGER respond that someone with more experience would have known.well why didn't your guys. And their TERRIBLE SERVICE continues. We recently had a home inspection which identified some concerns with the duct work below the house. We asked MSCO to come and evaluate these findings.
They not only charged us $89 for the service call for a QUOTE but they listed $4k in work and talked about what bad shape the duct work was in. So if we paid them for a minimum of biannual servicing why didn't their team comment on the duct work. But they were always eager to sell us additional add-ons that weren't needed. There is no customer service with this company and no accountability for their work.
I WILL NEVER USE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM. As a military community, recommendations matter since there are so many of us moving in and out of the area. DO NOT USE THIS SHAMEFUL COMPANY.

Well you know about hind-site. It is January, middle of Winter and of course the Xi 15 Trane of 11 years, MSCO's specialty, isn't heating again because now the TXV isn't opening; last year it was "the compressor overheated", year before that "circuit defrost board bad", year before that they gave the "dunno". In the summers it was the thermostat needed replacing, a closed system needed charged, the electronic filter broke, "dunno" answers.
I could go on but hopefully you get the picture. However a maintenance check was done in November, but they didn't see this TXV coming or chose to ignore it. Expect the minimum. So yep, they want you to buy a "new" system. Since there are so many HVAC places to choose from, at least you know who is at the bottom.

They were unable to come to the house today due to snowy and icy roads, but a technician called me back and helped me troubleshoot over the phone. Rick walked me through it and it turned out to be a frozen drain line. I have a 90% furnace which requires a condensate drain line. Since it was so cold, Rick figured this was frozen and the heater senses no flow and won't run. Rick from MSCO got me up and running no charge over the phone on a 9 degree day!

We had our system recharged over the summer and unfortunately we had a major leak soon after. With my knowledge of HVAC I knew this maybe a possibility due to the it needing a recharge. I had called them out and asked for an estimate on a full system because I knew the old system wasn't going to be efficient and worth it. They sent a representative out that night (after 5 on a Friday) He laid out all of our options and had full knowledge of what he was selling.
I was waiting to post this review to make sure I was happy with the results and I am. I have already had one free scheduled maintenance after install. The maintenance tech did not properly reinstall the cover to the air handler and air was leaking out rapidly into our garage. I corrected the issue myself. Attention to detail is a high priority in my book.

October 2015 our downstairs heating and air conditioning needed replacing and we contacted Mechanical Services. Then in the Spring of this year the upstairs unit needed replacing and we again contacted Mechanical Services. Both times from the Sales Representative to the Technicians we have received the best service possible. Mike from Sales explained the choices available to us in great detail.
We did not choose the most expensive units available but the units he recommended for our house size and our lifestyle. We have been very pleased with the great air quality and the precise temperature control available to us with the new Trane Heating and Air Conditioning Systems. Our electric bills have been much lower each month. We have had great savings as compared to prior years even though this summer has been extremely hot and humid. We highly recommend Mechanical Services for your heating and air conditioning needs.

This is the worst company I have EVER felt with. My ceiling in the living room started leaking and dripping water so I called my home warranty and they assigned this pathetic company. They call my husband and spoke to him. My husband told them no one was home. She had a appointment that day. I spoke to my husband and had my father go immediately to my house.
So my husband called them back about 10 minutes after he had spoke to them and someone answered the call and he told them there was someone at my house. In the meantime water starts spewing out of my utility room so it became a serious issue. I called to tell them I needed them faster. The woman who answered the phone told me that she never spoke to my husband.
So in other words pretty called him a liar about calling back 10 minutes after the first call and we would have to wait until the morning.really my house is flooding and I have to wait until the morning. After all of this come to find out my husband had spoke to someone. It was their answering service and they failed to pass the message along to her so we still had to wait.
To sum it up their answering service failed to do their job and in turn we had to wait. The lady I spoke to was whinny and more worried about how I was speaking to her at this point.really. My house is flooding and she's concerned about my attitude.who wouldn't have a attitude after being told "sorry mam you will have to wait until the morning". Flooding house. I wouldn't let this company work on my leaking water bottle. They should have thief business license revoked. Pitiful. Pitiful.

I have used MSCO for years with what I consider awesome results. This review is not compiling past work, but simply for plumbing work completed today at my home. When scheduling in the work I got what I considered an idea on pricing and was quoted a $125 tune up to check out all plumbing needs and gave a laundry list of things to inspect that appeared to be written down.
No additional info was forth coming on pricing, but I expected parts to most certainly not be a part of it. Scheduling was completed and a quick turn around of a few days. A window was given and an advance call was provided before the repairman showed up which was great. The only plumber now on staff with MSCO is Todd who has been to my home previous times.
He came not knowing any of the items that supposedly were written down by Sam in scheduling. I can understand confirming, but why did I go through all of the items to get a quote and he has no idea why he is there. I had mentioned issues with possible parts that luckily he did end up having on the truck. Todd completed the work in a little over an hour and all turned good until the price was revealed at almost $300 for 1.15 hr work, a drain clean and minor parts.
That to me is gouging and again not represented by what was provided in a quote to obtain an area of price range. I'm not blaming the tech, but the company itself. They do offer an annual plumbing contract which would have been more economical in this instance, but it was never discussed when scheduling in the work and acquiring a quote. So in an effort to get more details about what I think was an obvious miscommunication I called them immediately after the tech left.
I spoke with Sam in service. She apologized, admitted no mistake and no ffer to elevate the call to a supervisor. For me this is what brought it down to a 1. I don't think they really care and it seems obvious in my interaction with the service department. They are a big local company and plumbing is a sideline to their HVAC work. It is sad to say but I cannot recommend MSCO.
The greedy business practices of money over doing what is right was not present in my interaction with them today. They treated an 6-7 year customer like a a throw away piece of garbage. Even more sad is a front line service person that gets an hourly wage and is the face of the company did not think to get a supervisor involved to stand up for the company. My assumption is some smoothing out a volatile situation would have occurred but there was no opportunity for it.

Have used their service for about 10 years. Pay them for annual maintenance. They came out for spring maintenance and said one of our AC units needed freon and a $200 part. Paid for it and they were to come out and install the part when it came in. A couple of weeks went by and we didn't hear from them. Called and they were like oh yeah. They came out to install and NOW they say the motor is burnt out and we need a new one for $500 (we had not used it since the inspection) So why didn't they find it during the inspection? I may have decided to buy a new unit instead as the freeon was not cheap. VERY disappointed.

I have an older house and I used this company because their number was on the thermostat, thinking they would know more about my system because they previously did the upkeep or install. We had a blower motor go bad. The technician knew what he was doing, no complaints in that regard. But the price gouging for the parts was astronomical. 300$ motor was 900$.15$ capacitor was 65$.plus dianostic 85$.
I called the company because I had to pay the technician once the work was done. It was not a mistake. Just taking advantage of people durning the winter is common business practice. I kindly told the rep that we will not be doing business again. This is totally my fault, I should have done more research. But when your family is cold and a winter storm is on its way we do what we can. MSCO we will not use you again.

Finally after two months, I get MSCO back into the town house to repair what was done last year. What a mistake. He said I need a transformer and the part cost $215.00 I need heat, so I said fix it and we can discuss cost. I went online and found the part MSCO was installing, and retail price was $10.95. I asked the service tech to leave. Paid him for his time and that is all. Never say never, but to this company NEVER. Do you like that mark-up?
