Sanford Temperature Control called the day before my appointment to remind me of the visit the next day and called the day of the service to say when the technician would arrive. The technician was on time and very courteous and friendly. He tested all the HVAC systems and did all the necessary checks. I'm very happy with Sanford and would recommend them.

Kyle, Rick, and Jared showed up practically on the scheduled dot, and they were all super friendly and professional. They had the old AC removed and replaced in just a few hours, and took the time to get me up to speed on the new system and control panel before they left. Kyle was the lead service technician for an arrow seal job in My Home. Kyle was personable professional and helped me to understand the details at each step of the job. I feel he went above and beyond on this job and he stayed late to make sure we had the best result from the Aeroseal treatment. I can't thank him and his team enough for their efforts. Rick and Jared were also great members of his team. Going into crawlspaces doing professional work even answering any questions me or my wife had they were a great team.

Outrageous pricing. Had our oil furnace serviced and he found three minor things wrong- the most urgent was a gasket which needed to be replaced in the flue / quoted 580 dollars. Seriously? and 10 feet of copper pipe a bit oxidized on the outside. He suggested replacing it. The quote? $865. My husband nearly had a coronary. We are now waiting for three other companies to give us estimates.
We have found Sanford to be terribly expensive in the past, and we don't even trust them enough to think these jobs really need doing. And at that rate we will surely find a better quote somewhere else. Unless the world has gone completely insane. These reviews show lots of people are saying they're highly priced. Beware, everybody.

Charged me 2000$ to fail at fixing my oil tank, was left without heat for two weeks and now I have no heat again. Tried to sell me 7000$ new system after charging me 2000$. They kept telling me it was fixed and then finding "new" issues that they "didn't catch" before. Lied to me about when parts would come as well, told it was within a day or two and it was over a week.

Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, kind and pleasant from quote to install. This company and their employees are exceptional in a time when few companies are. They are truly customer oriented and work dillegently to ensure your satisfaction in their product and labor. If I did not mention Kyle and Rick and their apprentices directly, I would do them a disservice. These gentlemen were so pleasant and professional, it was a joy to have them here. They all were so patient with the puppies as well. Great job guys!

I bought a brand new electric hot water heater for my home. I currently use a propane hot water heater, which is connected to my chimney. We have no heat in the basement, but have a woodstove in there that I want to connect to the chimney. In order to do that, I need to disconnect the propane and connect an electric. I called Sanford on Monday who said they would send someone out for a quote for Wednesday.
The person who answered the call said they could connect it for me, but they couldn't guarantee the work, which was fine by me. They called today to confirm the appointment for 4-6. Then they called after 1 and said that they weren't coming, that the owner of the company didn't feel comfortable connecting a water heater that a home owner purchased.
My kids are cold in the basement with no heat down there. I've been waiting for them to come, because of the reviews and advertisements I've seen on them. I thought it would be worth the wait. And now to get a call same day to say they aren't coming, very poor customer service and not a good way to run a business. Sanford cancelling says to me that they are too busy, and won't make enough money off this job, rather than the not feeling comfortable installing a brand new unit. I won't be calling them ever again.

We were so impressed with Kyle G. Rick B. and Jason C., who installed our new Carrier Ductless System in our home. They arrived on time and ready to work. They worked diligently throughout the two days that they were here. They were professional, knowledgeable and attentive to every detail. They were so considerate, wearing masks and covered their shoes every time they entered our house. Everything was cleaned up perfectly--you wouldn't have known they were here. We couldn't have asked for a better team!

I have used this company at the recommendation of the previous homeowner for 3 years since I moved here. They recently scheduled my heating check to be done in late January and I had an issue come up just as cold weather hit. Just this week I had an issue with my zone control and was told I needed a new damper motor. The technician came and determined the issue and the technician they sent a week later to install had no idea of the problem.
He even had to ask me if the system was working correctly rather than check it himself. I had no idea how to check it other than to turn the heat on. He said it was fixed. However, I am still having the same problem as before. *Update - they sent a third technician out who determined that the wrong damper was indicated as bad and replaced. They are going to replace the correct one now and the technician who came out this time seemed much more knowledgeable and helpful.
Still rough to have to go through this to get the correct result. However, I am changing from a one star review to a three since they are correcting the error at no additional cost.

Jason was professional from start to finish. He clearly stated the scope of the work and provided answers to my questions. He arrived on time and there was minimal disruption to my day - and I work from home. We will definitely use Sanford again in the future and hope to have Jason do the work. Kyle and Rick just completed a two day job for us. They installed a new heat pump, furnace, hot water heater and a water recirc system. Throughout the two days they were efficient, personable, knowledgeable and genuinely determined to do an excellent job. And they left our home immaculate! I can't praise them or rate them high enough, but they have certainly assured their company that they have a new customer for life.
Our neighbors have already begun asking us how their work was. Looks like there will be some new business coming their way. And Sanford deserves it if Kyle and Rick are examples of the kind of employees they hire and train.

We had a heating system installed yesterday and a cooling system will be installed in the coming weeks. ZACH LEWIS was very helpful and knowledgeable in making sure we got the systems that were right for us. There were 3 gentleman that came to the house to install the heating unit, all were professional, hardworking, and respectful of property. Then KYLE GANKO came back the next day to set up the electrical component and programed the system to meet our needs.
When the job was finished my husband was on a conference call. Kyle let me video him explaining how the system worked and after playing it back to my husband he had no further questions. I would highly recommend this company.

Became a Sanford Customer a long time ago when my current Heating Company could not fix my Home Heating System, even though that Heating Company did not know what was wrong with my Heating System they still charged me full price. Sanford came out and had no problem diagnosing my Heating problem, have been a customer every since. In November 2020 my Home Heating System finally broke down after 28 years. Sanford quickly came out and installed a new Home Heating System, no matter who comes out they are always professional and very pleasant to deal with.
I wish I had the workers names so I could thank them for being so professional and friendly, they worked hard all day and did not leave till the job was done. I was also very surprised when I received the Thank you cookies. Sanford I have to say thank you for having such great a team of workers. really appreciate all they do!

First encounter with Kyle and nothing but pleasant, well mannered and professional. Kyle and his team did a thorough job installing a new AC, Air Handler, air purifier and steam humidifier. It was a challenge because of the location of my old system, but Kyle took his time and did an excellent job. He even returned after hours to explain all the equipment and maintenance for me. Added challenges with masks but Kyle was meticulous with that as well. Thanks Kyle!

I have a Fujitsu mini split system which they originally installed in 2012 with 3 inside units. They have serviced this unit multiple times since. Very unhappy with the last repair which cost me $1200 for a pipe to be sealed, a wire to be taped and the system to be recharged. It was an easy fix. I was shocked at the price, but he was here, the unit was apart, and they have always serviced it since installed.
I called later and spoke to the service manager. He told me they are a premium company and charge premium prices. Not the answer I wanted to hear. This is the last time I will have them service my system. I'm done.

Mike K is awesome. Both times he was out he was prompt, professional, straightforward and happy to answer any and all questions. He fixed our electric dampers, installed Nest thermostats, and the control board he used as a replacement was setup super neat and tidy. I couldn't have had a better experience. Highly recommend Mike K from Sanford!

Sanford wanted to charge me $900 to replace the gas valve on my hot water heater. I told him I could get a new hot water heater for that. He quoted me $2,000 to install a new one. I called Integrity Mechanical and they charged me less than $1000 to install a new water heater. Sanford way overcharges.

Zach serviced our boiler today and walked me through some key elements of the equipment as we're new homeowners and never had oil heat before. He provided helpful info in a way that I could understand which was nice. I would have given them 5 stars but the appointment got rescheduled several times due to other customers having no heat so we got bumped off the list for servicing.
I do appreciate that if the roles were reversed however I had taken time off of work the other two times so it was frustrating. 5 stars for Zach and one less for the trouble of rescheduling.

Keep in mind this place uses "Flat rate" pricing, which means their prices are hugely inflated, I was charged $700 to replace the mixing valve, it took 15 min and three threaded interfaces for the tech to replace the $100 part, totally felt like I was raked over the coals. Called to complain about the price gouging and was told "We have to pay our office staff and train our employees." Every business has those expenses.
They have a partner plan that reduces their hugely high prices to still inflated but 15% lower prices. They can clean my furnace but i'll never have this company service it again. The sad part is that they are cheaper than Heritage. The person I talked to about the pricing called HVAC industry a dying industry to justify their prices, it's dying because of greedy business practices such as these.
Even though they use a price sheet they will NOT give pricing over the phone, only when the tech is in your home. Find a good independent technician if you want reasonable prices. I expected to pay $300 for this very simple repair. They aren't lawyers, they shouldn't expect to charge the equivalent of $2400/hr for simple jobs.

I'm not one to readily leave a negative review but unfortunately my experience with Sanford was less than epic. I had a quote provided for some venting replacement which we agreed to, signed, and agreed on a date to perform the work. On the date the work was to be done, the technician looked around and then stated the individual who quoted the work made a mistake and refused to do the job.
He then promised the office would call to work things out. Instead I received a letter in the mail that Sanford was sorry they could not complete the job, and included a $25 credit for any future work that I would like them to do. I would be afraid to hire them for any work for fear of the same conclusion, a vacation day lost from my work and no work performed after the contract was signed.

This is the place to call when you need help! On an 80 degree Friday afternoon we found out that our A/C had stopped working. The first company we called couldn't get us in until the following Thursday (with many 90 degree days to follow). We fortunately stumbled upon Sanford, called after 4:30pm on a Friday and found Stacey to be amazingly helpful.
She could have someone to our house within 45 minutes (did I mention it was a Friday after 4:30). Brian arrived and within a snap of your fingers had the problem fixed. He was professional, polite and most importantly he FIXED the problem. If you need help with cooling or heating, this is the place to call. We went from being a non customer just looking for emergency services to signing up for a plan because they were responsive, helpful and efficient.

These guys are pretty responsive when you first call them. A bit aggressive on the upsell--they really want you to sign up for their membership program, which is $10/mo. They charge $60 to come out, so if you need plumbing or HVAC work done twice a year or more, it seems like a good deal. But then you discover that they do not actually want to come out for small ticket jobs--the kind that you would call a regular plumber to do.
They actually refused to come out to fix some burst pipes for me and fix a Sillcock valve, saying that they don't do that kind of stuff. And some of the work they did do when they came out was half-assed. For example, instead of replacing a corroded drain cap, they cut that part of the pipe out. The good news is that canceling the membership was relatively painless and worked the first time. But I do not think I would recommend them to anyone who is actually looking for a plumber.
