Exorbitant amount for parts. Air-Rite Heating and Cooling company charged me an exorbitant amount, $180.00 to replace the Capacitor of the air conditioning Condenser motor. After their technician left, I checked the retail price of the capacitor to be under $20.00, available at local hardware store, (they should be able to get even cheaper). It is 800% markup which is unreasonable.
I had no way to find out the price ahead of time but I expected this company to be trustworthy and would charge me a reasonable amount for parts. I called the company and talked to the son of the owner who did not offer me a refund and ultimately hung up on me.

I found Air-Rite Heating & Cooling to be an excellent company to work with from their responsiveness, fair pricing, and professionalism. They scheduled a visit for a quote within a day of my call. They installed my new HVAC system within a week from when I placed the order. I was told the installer would arrive at 7:00am and they arrived at exactly 7:01am. The job site was cleaned of all debris when they left. I will be recommending Air-Rite from now on.

My thermostat died this weekend. I wanted to get it replaced before it got hot again. I called, left a message and they called me back before 10am on Monday. They were able to dispatch someone that day! Mike came and installed a new smart thermostat. He was kind, friendly, knowledgeable and did an amazing job. Great experience all around!

I inherited a terrible HVAC setup when I moved into my current house. There were two furnaces and two AC units, and one furnace was right in front of the other one in a small room in the basement. I had contacted at least 6 other companies to move the blocking furnace, and most refused to do the work. Two said they would, but one came in at an insanely high price and the other never gave me the quote. Air-Rite was top-notch every step of the way. Assessment/quote: Joe was right on time, let me talk him through the problem, and had an "of course we can do this" attitude, which was a needed change from the others.
We ended up deciding to replace the old ACs and main furnace in addition to moving the small furnace. Joe gave me a timely quote, was responsive to emails, and had great communication overall. Installation: It took three guys 10 hours the first day and two guys six more hours the second day to finish the job. It was a lot of work, and they worked hard. The finished product looks great and I've had a chance to run both the heat and AC now, and they work great. A+, can't recommend highly enough.

I've had service with Air Rite for over 21 years. Both services (heat and air). Most recently service person Tim supplied the a/c with coolant and reinstalled a new thermostat. TIM was very knowledgable, friendly and professional. He made sure everything was working and I understood how it worked Best service person ever! Services: A/C system repair, Install thermostat

Wow! Tess came over for the estimate within 2 hours of my call and I had a very reasonable estimate by the end of the day. Tony and Dan arrived the following Monday and by mid afternoon they completed the installation along with a secondary project(a duct to the family room of our split level-we've been freezing for years down there). Totally professional in every aspect. Thanks!

Marco did a great job installing a new humidifier in the furnace. He and his assistant quickly installed the unit. They gave detailed instructions on how to use it and where to call for help if we needed it. They covered the work area before starting work, and cleaned and vacuumed up after finishing.

Our technician was on time, professional, friendly, courteous and thorough. He walked us through a few options and gave thoughtful recommendations in light of the fact that our furnace is 20 years old but still seems to be in good working order. We'll be calling again in the spring to do a check-up on our AC. Service: Heating maintenance

When I call the office, everyone is courteous and helpful that I talk too. I always request that Terry Lyons comes out to clean and maintain my HVAC. He has been very helpful in teaching me about how to maintain and operate my system to get the best efficiency out of it. Every time he has come to do the annual maintenance I learn something new. At times when I have had repairs done (once for the blower replaced and a second time to replace the electric motor), the technicians were prompt and made the repairs in a timely manner.

We've used Air-Rite to fix work done improperly or misdiagnosed by other HVAC companies going back to 2013. Our experience with Air-Rite has only been positive and in comparison to the other companies I feel their pricing is fair. Their techs are friendly and professional, and in my experience they didn't push me to invest in work that wasn't needed. We highly recommend them to family and friends.

Air-Rite Heating & Cooling has been taking care of my home for 20 + years. I usually request Tim to come out to check things over in the Summer and Winter. Since we have the Silver Plan setup. I know we are covered. I have had a 20+ year old air-conditioner go out in 99 degree weather, which you saved. I had furnace go in winter too, which needed to be replaced.
I am really glad to have the insurance of my plan covering overtime charges when I needed it the most. Knowing my family's home environment will be safe when I schedule regular maintenance twice a year is important to me. Thank you Tim and Air-Rite for quality and dependable service.

I had Heating and AC installed by Air-Rite and my experience with the company was excellent and flawless - from the moment I spoke with Jason about my options to the installation and testing of the installed machines by Jeff and Dom. I am grateful that they made such a serious task look so "painless" and easy! I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend this company!

Matt Twardoez (not sure if that's how you spell it) was so awesome. I live in California, my tenant walked into this, then had to leave town. I was freaking out. Not seeing anything for myself, Houston's a few photos, he walked me through everything. I haven't lived there since 2013, I couldn't even get a visual of where things were! He also put super detailed notes on the invoice for me.
He was my "eyes on they ground" and I couldn't be more thankful! He also had to navigate how to get in my unit with garage codes, strange hallways & doors *** thanks awesome office staff for letting me send you photos to explain to him so perfectly! Can't thank you enough Matt I've used a right to do all of my seasonal maintenance and broken air conditioning is through the years, this is the first time no one could be there in person. They've always been great!

Air-Rite quoted me a circuit board for my unit @$580. I sourced the part online and it was $143. Obvious rip off job and price gouging. They are like a mechanic you don't want to go to. No integrity and when I was in an emergency, they said yea, maybe tomorrow. Don't be fooled and get multiple quotes.

I have no problem with Air rite or the majority of their technicians that they send over to my home. Their customer service is prompt and they've serviced my home for years. My one issue is one of their technicians whose name starts with an R made an anti-Semitic racist comment once while in my home and I'm Jewish so that was a problem. I notified air rite that this tech is no longer welcome in my home and they didn't even ask why which I felt was strange. Other than that, I've never had an issue. Ask for Leo. He's great.

This company is writing their own reviews. It is run poorly and it is hard to simply get their very lazy employees to actually do their jobs! They sent a very lazy tech over for $100 and he barely did anything and tried selling me a whole new unit for $1000 instead. He came in and said he can't fix the Drain Spud because he was too lazy to even try! He did not even know what a drain spud is! Big Red Flag! Just a sales operation with very poor service! Horrible! Run! The guy they sent was argumentative and obnoxious!

I watched as one of the workers (a manager, I think) walked out of a worksite. There were at least five other workers at this home, only one of whom was wearing a mask. This employee (manager?)was not wearing a mask. I politely asked this manager (?) to talk to some subcontractors who were at a work site about practicing social distancing when outside and he basically said it was not his business.
Not exactly the response and behavior I want to see in any one, especially someone who appeared to be a manager (and so, sets an example for the others, around my house in a pandemic. I feel sorry for the one guy wearing a mask. Given how many different places these workers go (work sites, Home Depot, Lowe's, 7-eleven, etc.) I worry about him and the surfaces they are all touching.
If they are not practicing social distancing outside, I would like to hear what they are doing for the homeowner to make sure the surfaces they touch or couch or sneeze on are sanitized. They may do good, even great, work but it they can not be socially responsible, I would hire someone who can. Stay safe and be well.

Had such a great experience with Air-rite and the Tech Mike Hansen, which was surprising as it's been hit or miss with home services. Our furnace had been making really loud noises upon turning on so called on Tues and they had an appt Thurs with a 8am-12pm window. Mike was on time around 9:15am and immediately knew what was taking place. He took the time to explain each part and my options.
We ended up having to spend some $$ due to the lifetime of our furnace motor but so happy to have it working normal. Definitely recommend Air-rite and will be asking for Mike for any future repairs / maintenance.

I recently moved into my house of 2300 sq ft. During our house inspection it was determined that our HVAC was operational and approved so we could purchase our house. Upon closing we began renovations and in this timeline we experienced extreme weather known as polar vortex to which our house temperature dropped to 55 degrees and would not get any higher.
We requested service from a local HVAC company and it was determined that our furnace output was 50,000 btu while the house size required a 100,000 btu furnace. My question is who at Air-Rite determined this size and then knowingly installed a unit that was half of the size required. As a result we have now installed the specified size and our house heats appropriately.

UPDATE The manager called me in order to apologize for the service received. As I mentioned in my previous review, I doubted the service I received was indicative of the company as a whole. Rather, it was more than likely a rare event. Not only did they refund my cost, they scheduled a free winter checkup. Thanks for making it right.

Air-Rite installed the HVAC in our new Gallagher & Henry home. We didn't know the home needed to be "balanced" after we moved in, but when Randy came out, he was fantastic at explaining our fresh air return system, how and when to regulate/adjust that return, as well as maintenance on our equipment. We also had Air-Rite install a humidifier and, when Randy had a slight manufacturer issue, he called Kurt, who came to our home at 5:30p on his way home to help complete everything. Both guys were knowledgeable and professional. We need a few more tweaks on the heating system, but have confidence they'll resolve.

Some things in life perplex me such as the people who think over paying for hvac service is acceptable. All I have to say to all of you is I wish I had your money. There's an old saying.fool me once, shame on you.fool me twice.shame on me. Well the first part of the saying is true here. I agreed to pay the $98 service visit to repair a malfunctioning furnace.
The service guy noticed within two minutes the issue.a faulty igniter. God Bless him for knowing his work.though 20 minutes later after he left installing a $20 ignitor.my total bill came to $260. NEVER AGAIN will I use air rite. I'll purposely go out of my way to go somewhere else. If anyone justifies $160 for labor/$20 part 20 minutes of time. then we just agree to disagree. Was the problem fixed? Absolutely.but NO WAY to justify the cost. End of story.end of doing business with Air Rite

This is not a review of the quality of service, but rather pricing on a specific job I have learned a lesson and want to pass it along to others. In the past, Air-Rite's pricing has been commensurate with the effort. But recently, as part of a maintenance checkup on my air conditioning, the technician identified leaking capacitors on both of my units.
The cost to replace these was quoted at ~$200. I mentioned to the tech that it was a very expensive capacitor X 2, and he said it was a special dual capacitor and that was why. Replacing the capacitors took less than 5 minutes. So, after he left and I got back to my computer I looked up the cost (at retail) of the capacitor and found them to run between $20 -$30 each, depending on the supplier. So, at this point I really feel stupid.
I did call Air-Rite to speak with a manager, but that was 2.5 days ago and no return call. The person who answered the call did say that they get this complaint a lot, but that is the way it is. So, while Air-Rite's tech did good work, he is at the mercy of their pricing policy and next time I will be much more diligent on the time, effort and cost of a repair. Be forewarned, especially if you are having capacitors replaced on your air conditioning unit.

Rob from air -right heating is a very good salesman very honest and knowledgeable. No high pressure, and he gave me the option of fixing my furnace vs buying a new one. I choose to buy a new furnace. Andy the installer was very knowledgeable and professional and extremely neat. When he was finished he explained the operation of the furnace very thoroughly and explained the installation as he was doing the install. Iam very happy with the entire transaction and yes I would use air-right heating and cooling again and I would definitely recommend them.

We have been using this company for 16 years and had no problems with the services they provided. For about the past 5 years, we purchased the spring\fall checkup. Finally the day came when the furnace\air-conditioner needed to be replaced. It was already 16 years old. We got an estimate from them which was reasonable. And we didn't really want to go get an estimate from anywhere else.
The job took almost the entire day because the original installation for our air conditioning unit was poorly installed. We couldn't be more happier with our new air conditioning. We haven't tried the heating and humidifier because it's only summer. We did get a follow-up call from Air-Rite asking if we were satisfied with the installation and if we had any questions. Yes, we definitely were happy with the installation.

Looking for a dishonest company to service your furnace or air conditioner? You've come to the right place! I called Air-Rite on a blind recommendation from the manager of my condo building, when my A/C decided to stop working on the hottest day of the year thus far. They told me that they could get someone out today, and that the trip charge is $98, and there would only be additional fees if the technician needed parts to fix my system. So, I took the afternoon off of work to meet the technician.
When he arrived, I showed him the furnace and took him up to the roof where the A/C unit is installed. After an hour, he returns to my unit with a laptop bag instead of his tools, and informs me that my compressor and fan are shot, and need to be replaced, to the tune of nearly $3,000. This shocks me as the system is less than 6 years old, but fine. And. he would be happy to schedule an install for my new system and collect down payment right then and there. THEN THE KICKER: The bill I was handed for today was $174, because "it took extra time".
This is BAIT AND SWITCH. I was told $98 trip charge, unless the tech needed parts, and he was only here for an hour. He didn't do ANYTHING, I'm sitting here sweating, and researching other companies to take another look at my system, because I will not be calling Air-Rite again!

The tech that Air-Rite sent out to our condo, Raymond, was very professional but also very honest. He did everything he could to get us the best possible deal and make things very convenience for us. We moved into a unit with poorly functioning AC, and he was quick to diagnose the issue and provide us with a long-term plan. I would definitely recommend both him and the company.
