I had to have my upstairs unit replaced. Hugh was great with explaining my options as well as the types of equipment. I got help choosing what was going to be best for my home because I finally understood the differences in the units. I received a call within a week after placing my deposit. Got a time scheduled within a week. Colby was on time, very professional, and got the job done quickly. So far my experience with this company has been great!

In follow up to the poor service I received from Horne Heating and Air Conditioning, I am excited to report they did make things right. I received a follow-up call from Angelica on 6/7. She listened attentively as I explained my experience with the technician who had come out on 6/6, and my dissatisfaction with the experience. Angelica guaranteed that she would do her best to ensure the issue was resolved.
She would have someone come back and look at my AC system, and I would not have to pay the $90 diagnostic fee again. She dispatched one of their best technicians, with over 35 years experience, Tony Herrin. When Tony arrived I explained the situation to him and he went ahead to complete a thorough diagnostics of the AC system. He advised what the actual issue was, and let me know his manager had approved that he fix the issue at no extra costs to me. Tony went above and beyond my expectations.
He explained everything he was doing in layman terms, and made sure I understood it. He was very engaging and professional. I appreciated his views just as much as he appreciated mine. Tony was very easy to work and talk with. He made me feel valued as a Horne customer. It is because of Tony and Angelica, who both went above and beyond my expectations to ensure the best customer experience that I give Horne the positive feedback.

My AC stopped working last Saturday during 90 + degree weather. I called Horne because I couldn't reach my regular repair service, and Horne operates on Saturdays. The good: customer service.the technician was fantastic. He was on time, friendly, fast, and communicative. He diagnosed the problem in about five minutes and had the repair part on the truck.
The repair took about twenty minutes and I was up and running when he left. The bad: The invoice was outrageous! Given simplicity of repair, I foolishly failed to ask for an estimate, assuming it would be reasonable. This was my bad. The bill was $483.70! This included $90.00 for diagnostic. I have no problem with that. But also a $361.00 charge for the repair, (replacement of a capacitor - 5 screws, 3 plugs, and done!).
As I wrote the check, I assumed this was an expensive part. Imagine my surprise when I later researched the part.it's available on line for about $25.00, (maybe $50-60 retail). So they charged between $250 and $300 for the 30 minutes labor. So, be warned, and be ready to pay too much!

Horne bought Quality Comfort a while back. I always had good customer service from Quality. Horne has not been good. Had a problem last fall, asked for a manager to call me to talk about some issues. No one ever called. Problem again yesterday, had another company look at it and there were problems with the way it was fixed by Horne. I called and was told Tim or Scott would call ASAP. but still no call. Very poor service and workmanship.

Horner HVAC is a great company. Every member of the sales, support, install, and Q/C team did an excellent job, arrived on time, and displayed outstanding professionalism. When we first moved in Jason performed an inspection and did an excellent job explaining our equipment. When we needed a quote Forrest thoroughly inspected our systems and listened to our needs.
We were able to select a new system that was a nice upgrade and stayed within our budget. Bryan, Johnathan, and Sam did an excellent job installing our new system and their attention to detail is impressive. I especially appreciate their dedication to doing the job right, whatever it took. When I had a question about the system, Forrest answered my call and connected me with Bobby who helped me even though it was late into the evening.

Some of the best customer service that I've experienced. Austin and Rene did an excellent job, taking great care to cover the floor from the entrance to the work site. They were polite and efficient. I can't say enough good things about this company. Forrest was also very helpful in helping me decide how to proceed when my water heater died. Kudos to the entire staff. Horne HVAC did a top notch job replacing our heat pump. The customer service provided by everyone I interacted with was outstanding. We got quotes from multiple companies and only Horne offered us creative solutions in order to get the job done both faster and with a better long-term design that what we originally had. The service provided by the installers was excellent.

Johnathon and Austin from Horne HVAC installed a replacement for our 14 year old tankless hot water heater. It was a big job because we ended up choosing to move the heater inside and to the other side of the house because of logistical issues related to new installation codes. They did an excellent job. They were very receptive and attentive to masking while inside which was greatly appreciated during Covid.
They were professional at all times. They worked diligently to get us hot water by the evening. Everything was done neatly and they cleaned up very well before leaving. They answered our questions patiently. They arrived at the scheduled time for installation and returned as planned on a second day to finish up. We recommend them enthusiastically.

Horne has been servicing our home since before we lived here and have done a fantastic job keeping our HVAC system running. Unfortunately, the time finally came for our decades old system to be replaced, and Itzik quoted us a rate that was staggeringly good. We initially planned to replace just the furnace, but eventually decided that we could not pass up a quote that competitive. Nick and Dalton came to install the new heating and air system and were done in one day.
They hauled off the old system and installed the new ones without any hassle whatsoever - at times we even forgot they were there. I cannot overstate their professionalism, competence, and overall congeniality. They, and the entire company, were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I truly do not think it is possible to find a better combination of quality and price anywhere in the area.

When it came time to replace my two aging heat pump systems Horne was great to work with. They took the time to listen and work with me on what I needed to replace my old systems, not simply sell me what might work best for them. From the estimating to the install, it was about as smooth as it could be. The installation was done in one day for both systems - Johnathan, Tyler and Jose could not have been more professional and thorough.

The compressor in our old unit went out and we had a tech out quickly to diagnose the issue (which another unnamed company misdiagnosed). Due to the age of the unit (19yrs) and the cost of replacing the compressor, we decided to explore purchasing a new unit. Itzik was prompt and professional and was not pushy. He gave us different options and was transparent about the cost.
After settling on the unit, we were able to schedule installation just a couple of days after. Nick, Carey, and Lloyd did a great job on installation and were only minimally disruptive. We once again have comfortable temperatures in the house and are very appreciative of Horne.

Earlier today Tony H addressed two design / install issues with our condensate line that had resulted in an overflow of water into our furnace room. One, the line running from our furnace closet to the exterior of our home had developed a sag or flat section in the crawl space, creating issues with the line not draining properly and clogging due to mold buildup. Tony installed additional hangers to ensure a positive slope. Two, our condensate line had been modified a few years back to accept clean out flow from a newly installed humidifier. Tony changed that connection from open and vented to a closed connection, ensuring that future flow from the humidifier will not spill into the furnace room and will shutoff the humidifier.

Came highly recommended for mini split installation via the Duke Energy Referral program. They did not disappoint. They even sent a tech out for free to give me a second opinion on my existing system to validate indeed the repair costs would have outweighed full replacement. They sell Mitsubishi. I had a Fujitsu system prior (worst system I've ever experienced).
Sales tech was the most thorough of any of the contractors that came out. I had some come out who didn't bother to even measure! Horne took pictures of everything and was responsive every time I had questions. I have requested a service contract as a result. My folks were Hugh (sales), Nick (install), Jason (tech for second opinion), Bryan (install)

Bobby Strain is an outstanding technician and great representative of Horne. He goes above and beyond to make sure we understand the service and are happy with everything before he leaves. Horne has excellent customer service with the exception of being proactive about scheduling contract maintenance for spring and fall check-ups. As a result of. not being notified (most companies with a contract in place call to schedule appointments!) we have missed a few timely maintenance appointments. This is a back office problem that needs to be corrected.

Both of our AC units stopped cooling and Kenny came out the next day and spent 6 hours trying to diagnose the problems. He cleaned the outside units, and added Freon to each unit and found a blockage to our upstairs unit. Super professional and aware of our need to keep the repair costs as low as possible. We will definitely use Kenny again!

Everyone I've worked with at Horne has been great. From Tony who came out and diagnosed the issues with our existing system, to Itzik who was able to design and price a placement system for our 30 yo unit, to Tyler and his associate who were able to expertly install the new air handler and heat pump and upgrade the aged ductwork less than two days. later. Horne wasn't the cheapest quote we received, but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. The fact that they do not subcontract out the work was a big plus. I would definitely recommend Horne for any of your HVAC needs.

AVOID. The service rep that came out refused to give a quote. He did the estimate and had it ready but refused to email it or tell it to me. It might have been 1-2k higher then the competition but the guy kept trying to talk bs on why I should go with him even if it was higher but refused to say exactly what his quote was. I like straight shooters and the HVAC tech seemed extremely dishonest. Going into a car dealership was more pleasurable than speaking with him.

These people are AWESOME! 10 star company with 10 star employees! They went above and beyond any expectations I had. I couldn't have found a better company to replace my A/C and gas furnace! Definitely would and will recommend these people to everyone. The sales rep was awesome, the installation crew was above awesome and the OWNER even came. out to inspect the job before the installation crew got here just to make sure everything would go as planned.

They confirmed my appointment on a Sunday between 12 and 3pm. I received multiple texts saying they would be there at that time. I drove home to wait from 12pm to 3pm and they never showed up. I never even received a call saying they weren't going to make it. I still haven't received any communication from them.

I used Horne when my furnace stopped working just days before it was supposed to go in the market. They arrived on time, told me I needed a new capacitor, the guy was there for maybe 10 minutes. A week or so later the furnace was already broken again, doing the same thing it was before. I had another company out who recommended putting a new furnace in since the current one was so old and really anything could be wrong with it so don't waste time and money replacing more parts. I'm not confident that Horne looked over the entire furnace to asses the problem since they were in and out so quickly.
They also refused to give me any sort of refund (the part they replaced that supposedly "fixed" it was $350). They did offer to take that price off of a new furnace if I decided to use them. Only to find out a new furnace through them was $2000 more than what another company quoted me. Next time I have HVAC issues, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Very happy with the entire team we have worked with at Horne. Needed to replace our AC and duct work. I highly recommend you go with Horne for all your HVAC and hot water heater needs. Horne replaced most of the ductwork in my 60 year old home and the HVAC units. They also replaced a 20 year old hot water heater with a high-end tankless water heater, even mounting it to a concrete wall. Marlon who quoted the job was very knowledgeable about my options and pricing, and was available afterwards to answer all our questions before we decided on Horne.
All the technicians were very detailed oriented, highly skilled, and a pleasure to have around my house. Jason was the site manager and his expert knowledge was critical given the complexity of replacing duct work in a 60 year old home, as well as, custom installing a high capacity tankless water heater. Big shout out to Nicholas, Jamal, and Jose.
They were great! Richard and Brant also stopped by to lend a hand. All of them were knowledge, hard-working, and very friendly. Finally, Dee in the office was great with scheduling, assisting with billing, and follow-up. Horne will be the only service provider I use in Charlotte.

Had a heating problem called and they responded. Seemed nice and proffesional. Took. Are yo keep place clean. Was told up front about $90 fee for them to come out. Said they fou d a fuse blown. Replaced fuse and still no heat. Said I had a burned up fan blower motor. Would be $880.00 for part plus install. The motor sells from most a.c. supply stores for around $200.00.
I got my bill for my $90.00 service call and $218.00 to replace a fuse. Said it was for th ere knowledge and experience. I decided not to pay a 400% markup on the motor and said $218 to change a auto type fuse seemed excessive. I would hate to see what that would have cost. Motor replaced and for knowledge and experience I still have no heat but going for a different company to get this fixed.now it needs a circuit board.

We had a fantastic experience with Horne. Honesty, friendly, professional & thoroughness describe their service and the employees we worked with. To make a long story short, we had a big name competitor out (M&J) and even though our system appeared to be functioning it was just not blowing COLD air, M&J told us our compressor had "seized" up ($3-4k item) and suggested a whole new system ($13k!).
This was both shocking and hard to believe.so luckily we started calling around, we had Horne come out to give us a quote on what we thought we needed which was a whole new system, and after briefly speaking with Forest (quote/sales rep) he took a quick look at our system and said he didn't think what the other company told us was correct and recommended we get it looked at/serviced by Horne to see what could be causing the issue. & THANK GOD we did. Horne's technician rep (Michael B.) came out the next week and serviced both our units and confirmed our compressor was fine, but that we just need a new capacitor!
Which was wayyy less $ than a whole new compressor or system. We are so thankful for Horne, from their administration team to the field team, your great, friendly and honest service is SO appreciated. You've definitely earned us as a customer!

This happened several months ago. Half of the vents on the first floor were not opening. They came over, diagnosed the problem correctly, loosened the valve on the motor that wasnt opening, and all was fine. They did say if it happened again, I would need to replace the motor. About 4 weeks later, it happened again. They came out and said in addition to the vent motor, I would need to replace some other valve thing that would cost over $1200.00 since it was time consuming and they had to replace all the refrigerant.
Well I called another company who did a full diagnostic and all they said I needed was to replace the failed valve motor and not that other much more expensive repair. Long story short, my system worked great all summer. No problem at all. Lesson to be learned: Always get a second opinion if a company wants to charge you a lot of money on a repair.

Horne Heating and Air Conditioning performed a complete replacement of our heating and air conditioning system including duct work and we couldn't be happier with the results. I've never written a review on Yelp before but my experience with Horne warranted me taking time to write one. I was having problems with my HVAC unit in my condo where it would run for a half hour or so and then switch off before reaching the temp setting on the thermostat. My building's maintenance supervisor had recommended calling Horne.
A guy by the name of Jim Chandler came out to look at my unit. To his credit he did mention that the leak stop was not a permanent solution but that it might hold me over for a while.
I found it surprising that he did not take the time to let the unit run for a while to identify other potential causes, but this was my first time dealing with an HVAC unit so i was completely at the mercy of his expertise. He charged me $643 for the service and also said that if it didn't work I would have to replace the unit for around 7k. Well that night low and behold the unit was still having the same issue.
I called Jim back the next day and left a voicemail expressing my concern that I had just paid $643 and it didn't fix the problem but he never returned my calls. Well I found another company called Climate Solutions to come in and give me a second opinion since Jim no longer seemed interested in my business (which looking back I am happy about).
They actually came in and did a full diagnostic assessment of my unit. The let it run until the issue presented itself and quickly identified the problem (the line that drains the condensation pan was clogged causing the water level to raise too high which triggered the system to shut off). They also told me I did not have a leak and that the person who told me this was most likely just trying to make a quick buck off me.
So for a problem that should have only cost me $150 to fix, Horne charged me $643. The fact that they would not return my calls leads me to believe they were aware of their negligence and were just trying to take advantage of someone who had no knowledge of HVAC. The good news is my building will hopefully no longer be recommending Horne as my maintenance supervisor is now aware of the situation. I'm not saying this is an indictment of the entire Horne organization, it could just be one guy that is dishonest and/or incompetent but it does reflect poorly upon the entire company. So when deciding to use Horne I would proceed with caution.

At our business we recently had an old and outdated heating unit with a leak (which could have been dangerous) so we called Horne and they came out promptly to assess the problem, provided us with a reasonable estimate for a new system and followed through with the installation and inspection. C.J. was very helpful and the installers were in and out with very little disruption to our business. We are no longer wearing our coats in the office! Thanks Horne.

I've been with Horne for 15 years and have always been pleased. I have purchased new systems and had service agreements. Everyone is always friendly and proactive. My most recent service was especially helpful because Josh, the technician, took the time to explain a couple of things to me and showed me some steps I can do myself. I always like to understand the processes so I am an informed customer!

The representatives I spoke with at Horne Heating and Air Conditioning couldn't be nicer. They were true professionals. When they said they would be at my home, they were. and earlier than expected. DO NOT USE HORNE! They are HORRIBLE! NO customer service! We have a 2 year old unit under warranty. They could care less about fixing it. No A/C for a WEEK (with a 6 month pregnant woman in the house) Then when you have an appointment, they LIE about the times. We were told AM appointment and waited all day for them to show up at 6pm. Totally unacceptable customer service! Use another HVAC company and save yourself the hassle!

Sometimes you get what you pay for at a really good price! Recently had to replace my heat exchanger in my HVAC. I called several local heating companies for quotes. Horne was the first to return my call with a quote. Some didn't call back at all, so guess they didn't want the business. The repair was completed in half the time everyone had quoted.
My repair man was very experienced and knew exactly what needed to be done. I have had no problems since my repair a month ago. Horne also had the best price, out of all the large well known heating companies in the area. I intend to use Horne in the future and would recommend them! They are a BBB accredited business as well.
