Phoenix was having a heat wave and our A/C couldn't keep up. We used Hendel's before for routine maintenance and were happy with their work. This time we called them on a Sunday to check their hours. A very pleasant receptionist answered and said they were open. A great technician (Matthew) came out on a Sunday afternoon and fixed our unit. There was no "weekend upcharge", just the expected service call fee and hourly rate fee, very reasonable. Highest recommendation!

Hendel tech provided HVAC unit spring maintenance. Service was thorough, captured unit specific reading and shared findings. Tech was courteous and quick. He also cleaned up any insulation droppings from attic unit assessment. Hendel installed our units and they are working efficiently and saving us money with our utility bills over the summer high demand period

We called this company for help to have our Roof Top AC unit looked at, as another company suggested we absolutely needed a brand new unit. We though we would get a second opinion. They sent a service Tech out named Jeremy and he was so so helpful! We were facing a bill of 6 thousand dollars for a new unit. Jeremy gave us 3 options and we asked for a Freon Top Up.
He serviced our AC for under $300.00! There are no guarantees on anything these days, but he felt we could get a few more years out of a top up. We are so happy with his service and expertise. This company had Freon and topped up the Freon for us. It is so good to work with honest people, when everyone out there just wants to sell you something New. I would recommend this company!

Horrible experience. My AC was not working. They charged $139 for an assessment. The tech had no idea what was wrong after his assessment and said he would need to charge me $200/hour to further diagnose. He literally asked me why i didn't call the company that installed the AC unit instead of Hendels. I gave him 1 hour, as i was desperate for AC.
After one hour, he said that i needed my EEV module replaced (a board in the air handler). I only had the unit for 4 years, so I asked him to quickly let me know if this was under warranty. When i called back to get update, they said my "whole drive" would need to be replaced (couldn't explain why). When i called a third time (more than 24 hours later), they said that they had not yet heard back from Trane on my warranty, and it may take weeks to get necessary parts, and couldn't tell me when they would know about my warranty (again, i was living with no AC).
I called Trane myself and in 2 minutes found out my system was still under warranty, but the warranty was expiring in 4 days. They thought the circumstances around the repair shop not getting details on the warranty for more than a day was very suspicious (perhaps they were waiting for the warranty to expire). They recommended i find an authorized Trane repair company. I did this, the company came out and within one hour had my AC up and running. Not weeks for new parts, 1 hour. These people are SCAMMERS!

I've used Hendels exclusively for all of my HVAC needs at my home and office for several years now. They've always exceeded my expectations. The office staff and the service techs both do a great job. They have been in business for a long time and once you use there services you will easily understand why they have lasted so long. I wouldn't even consider calling anyone else but Hendels AC.

Bought a new unit from them in 2018 for 6,000 and it quit working last night, July 2021. It has a 10-year warrantee. The unit didn't fail it was a clogged water line. They sent their only repairman finally by 8:00 pm and now 90 in house. guy fixed it. Died again an hour later AND they do not have any after hours emergency service past 8:00 pm.
I spent 250.00. They don't have a business policy to take care of business when their customers have an emergency after 8. Odd to me. update on this review: the following morning they sent their #1 repairman who was sensational. Ask for Sam, because he's the man! He was SO articulate and had very helpful explanations. And, he showed me how to do a quick reset myself for the future if this clogged water line would ever happen again. Sam deserves a 5-star+ rating! Thanks Sam! You deserve a raise!

I have been a customer of theirs for close to 20 Years if you include using them when I was a business manager. They installed our Nee units in 2015. Something has changed with their service. They came out this past week to repair our air conditioning. The Service Tech was rude and threw a tantrum when asked to do his job. After several calls to the office with the promise to call us back we have not heard from them. They will no longer have our business. We have contacted another company for assistance.

These guys are not interested in fixing your expensive A/C unit, only interested in selling a new unit. Their guy went up in the attic a few minutes and said it was broken, need new one. Seemed fishy so I sent him to test the pressure. It was low. He said they needed to put in a new unit. Then I called a local honest handyman, who sold red the leak for $125, and five years later it's going strong, despite HENDEL'S. If you want an honest A/C fixer- keep looking. These guys are as corrupt as #45.

Buyer beware! Less than 2 y.o. American Standard unit, that Hendel's recommended, The condenser motor is bad. And Hendel's wants to charge me $250 labor to replace it since it's 1 yr labor warranty has expired. Only willing to knock of $25.00 as a matter of compromise even though I spent over $20k for my new units. Terrible customer service IMO.

I have used Hendel's previously, and every time I am more than satisfied with the work they do. This week I had to replace my AC unit. I knew it was having trouble and wanted to replace it before it went totally out. Hendel's came quickly, gave me an honest estimate, and was out the next day to do the work. Mario and Abraham were two of the hardest workers I have ever seen, and they were working in 114-degree heat.
The unit was installed, ducting replaced and everything cleaned up immaculately, all in one day. Hendel's sent someone out the next day to fix my garage ceiling where they had to make a larger opening to get the unit in, and you cannot even tell anything was done. I will definitely call them again when I need service or another unit.

While I appreciate they were open on Saturday, 2 stars for that. I did not appreciate that the run capacitor I needed was $65 more than I could buy it anywhere else. No stars. Unfortunately the wife picked it up being in the area and did not know. I could have paid my AC guy $75 for a service call and $15 for the part had I known they were going to gouge me.
He is busy so I did not want to bother him with something I could fix. I would have made do with the heat had I known they were going to soak her for $81. My bad I did not ask how much it was going to be over the phone. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that they would charge that much for a $15 part. AZ Plumbing Supply $15. Unfortunately they were closed.
Being open shouldn't be $65 more though. For everyone else, $600 for a fan motor plus more for the service call is horrendous. There are many places in the valley to buy it for 125-150. Get on next-door and find someone that can install it. Or find a local AC guy that's not dumping thousands of dollars into advertising on the radio. You will save 1/2 the money.
Most of the time when your fan is humming but not working it is the capacitor not the fan motor. If it's been squealing a lot it could possibly be the motor. If you can't spin the blades( use a stick) it's the motor otherwise it's the capacitor.

Can I give them 20 stars? We have used Hendel's twice now, both times because our AC units died, in the summer, 2 months apart. We called on a Saturday and they were out in a few hours and installed the new unit a few days later. The cost was very fair and the staff was extremely professional. When the second unit went out, I knew exactly who to call. I highly recommend these guys.

I give Brad and Hendel's a 5 star rating. I have highly recommended you to neighbors in our HOA in the past, but I wanted a five-star review on the internet for all to see. Today, while doing our yearly maintenance check, Brad found a situation that was not allowing our AC to work up to its designed capacity. The tech did a good job. However, there are some things you should know before you do business with Hendel's. First, Hendel's now adds a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card. Fortunately, we had $1,000 dollars in the bank and could write a check. The second thing you should know is that replacing a fan motor and adding 1 pound of refrigerant will cost you close to a $1,000.
Here is a break-down of Hendel's invoice: - Trip and Diagnostic Charge - $129 - Condenser fan motor - $609.54 - Service Labor - $100 - Refrigerant R- 410 - $79.89 For at total of $918.41 The replacement motor was not OEM. It was a Century 1/3 to 1/8 HP Condenser Fan Motor, 825 RPM. It is available on the internet for $161.

Have been using Hendel's for years to replace and repair our two roof mounted heat pumps. One unit was making a lot of noise (turned out to be fan blades hitting shroud), so called Hendel's to fix. Initial service call was $99 (seems high), and technician indicated $1680 more needed to replace the motor, fan blades, and shroud. Work was all professionally several days later and unit is working good again, but would not apply the $99 diagnostic fee towards the repair. They are now very very expensive-has to be another company out there that knows what they are doing without over charging customers.

Jim the salesperson was very kind and knowledgeable. I met him in the showroom on Tuesday morning and we talked about our options. He followed me home and did a thorough inspection/calculation and came up with a plan to redo some ductwork and dialed in our equipment choices. He even delivered a temporary AC unit for us to use for 2 days while we waited for our install date. Abraham and Javier showed up Thursday at 8am and immediately gutted our old unit and within 8 hours they were done.
A separate team came curbside and hauled away the trash and old equipment. Both young men were very kind and knowledgeable about the product they installed. Explained what they were doing and why. By this time the house was 95 degrees inside. Yuck! Finally they set the temp, went over the thermostat functions and swept the floors. Even swept and picked up the little bits of trash outside.
They even found a few sheet metal screws in the street from the old equipment that the scrap crew left. They were quick to pick it all up and discard. Now it's been 3 hours since they left. My home is 87 and dropping. Our American Standard Silver 16 unit is soooooo quiet. 71 decibels right at the fan. Time will tell if it lasts as long as my 18 year old Carrier. But based on my recent experience, I recommend them.

Absolutely wowed again. 114 degrees out today and my ac goes out, guess I should have got that tune up earlier. Hendels had a friendly rep answer the phone and we were able to get same day service. Isidro showed up on time with a friendly smile. Even though he was going to climb on our roof in this heat. He worked efficiently and kept us updated. His quick diagnosis and having the part on his truck, got out air on and the family happy again. We have used Hendels since 1999. Always fast friendly service at a fair price.

Terrible customer service! Bought an inexpensive part from here ($63.00) it was a pressure switch for my Lennox A/C that my brother who is certified in commercial HVAC's installed. Changing the switch did not resolve the issue and the next day I had a very reputable company for HVAC residential repairs come out to troubleshoot. Today I was told the switch was faulty out of the box.
I called Hendel's about the faulty switch to see my options. To be completely transparent, I was aware they have a zero return policy, however, I didn't not realize that applied to bad parts sold. The very rude receptionist answering the phone asked me how they could know the part was bad, I told them I had a work order showing as much, but I was told to read my receipts and the signs posted throughout the stores, no returns! Therefore, they have zero returns on parts sold that are bad. Granted, this only happen a small percentage of the time but apparently this company does not care.

A/c temp rise from 78 to 81 degrees during hot part day Called Hendel's sent tech out diagnosed bad condenser fan motor on Sunday ordered motor and replaced it Tuesday afternoon and it did not fix the problem for almost 1300 dollars. Motor on line cost 475 dollars so we have 800 dollars in labor for 1/2 hour to replace the condenser fan motor and I stood there and watched so I knew how long it took Sent another tech Tuesday evening and he diagnosed it as bad compressor motor but wanted 2nd opinion Service manager came out Wednesday afternoon and diagnosed as leak in the system and low on a/c 401. Added a/c 401 at no charge and system works fine Still have to find the leak another tech coming the following Thursday to find the leak Asked for the condenser fan motor back from Tuesday evening tech, service manager on Wednesday and the office personnel on Wednesday and they claimed they scrapped it.
I am not a a/c person but have a hard time believing that the motor and the system leak were both bad when the system was working fine prior to acting up on Saturday Tech was suppose to come out today and find the leak but after thinking about the charge for labor and condenser fan motor and not returning the motor to me I lost all confidence in their integrity and honesty. Will look for another company to find the leak

Since I had our new a.c. unit installed I have had to replace the thermostat and a fan in the new a.c. unit. I'm not too impressed with hendels. They where quick to come out SLOW to repair. almost like "they have my money and they will take time to repair." As they failed to keep 3 repair appointments due to another job that took too long. Not impressed with them anymore. do your research before making a big purchase here.
