Our HVAC wasn't cooling so they had to send a tech out to diagnose the problem. He recommended us we replace it because it was old and that if he fixed it now, he didn't know when it'd go down again. We were told twice by 2 different people at 2 different times that if we got it fixed temporarily, that cost would be deducted from the total of a new HVAC system.
We agreed to get it replaced when it went down a 2-3 weeks later, after everything was installed, they said that the 2 employees shouldn't have said that the temporary cost was going to be credited. In addition, we were supposed to have a sales rep come out to show us the different options of the HVACs as the tech arranged a day and time for us.
The day came and nobody showed up. So Estes isn't a reliable company and the manager Nicole isn't either. We asked for an invoice and she sent us an invoice with cost not even broken down.just the total and a basic description. Why would we have asked for an invoice if we were going to receive just that. We ended up using a different Heating and Cooling Company for another HVAC, and they were more reliable.

I have 2 HVAC units located on the roof of my 2 story Townhome. One of the units stopped functioning so I called Estes last Friday to schedule them to diagnose and repair the problem on Monday. I was given a confirmation of my appointment with a rather large window of 8AM to 6PM. Its hot here this week and I need to have the unit fixed so I took the day off work to be here for the appointment.
At almost 10AM I received a phone call from the scheduling department advising me that Estes has decided to no longer do business in my complex because of the units being on the roof. They have been doing business here for years, but all of the sudden they can no longer service units on roofs. I was naturally very unhappy with the way the whole experience with Estes was handled.
Since I'm no longer able to do business with them, I certainly can't recommend them to anybody else, because who knows what reason they may choose to no longer do business with you and/or your complex.

I've used Estes in the past. But, 4 years ago I had another company install a new AC unit, and I immediately regretted it. It never worked properly. I had Estes' service contract and called for appointment and expected to wait weeks. I got an appointment 2 days later. The tech was on time, very thorough with his inspection and work needed (sorry, I didn't get his name).
His assessment was checked by a comfort analyst Justin Hancock. The repair techs, Jered and Trevor, were hard working pros. They replaced major parts of my system in a very small crawl space. I've always been pleased with Estes in the past and pleased today.

I have been a long-term customer of Estes and they have always been extremely responsive for all service requests. Most recently, I needed a repair that required a part to be ordered. I was contacted as soon as it was available and scheduled promptly to finish the repair. Brad and Brandon did the repair and they were both very professional. They let me know how long it would take to complete the installation, cleaned up after themselves and went over everything with me prior to initiating payment. I could not be more pleased with the services provided.

We've been a customer of Estes for over 20 years and the reason why is because of great customer service. I would like to highlight two exemplary young men who represented the company very well. Jason and Ali were very professional, courteous and friendly. They completed the job in a quiet and efficient manner. Jason took the time to answer our many questions without appearing like he was in a rush.
He treated us with the upmost respect. He took extra time knowing he had another job to show us how the new system function. We really appreciate their high standard professionalism.

This was the summer our home A/C unity died. Our experience with Estes Services from the time we placed the initial call thru the conclusion of our newly installed A/C system was exceptional. Ashley & Natasha initially fielded our call and promptly directed us to our diagnostic rep, Paul. Based on his findings sales rep Justin provided several options for how to proceed.
We accepted the option that best suited us and within 2 days we had a crew on site. Installers, Jason and Ali, were amazing. They encountered many unexpected and difficult on-site issues which they handled professionally and seamlessly. Jason continued to keep us informed of the process throughout. To summarize, Estes Services and their entire crew, from the initial call to final installation, was extraordinary. We highly recommend Estes Services.

Estes Services was completely professional from the beginning to end. We used them in 2021 during an emergency when our air conditioner stopped working. They were able to repair it temporarily to get us through the rest of the year. We did have Chris McBride come out and give us a few quotes but at the time, we just couldn't swing replacing the unit.
Fast forward to this year, I reached out to Chris M. again who came by my house the next day to draw up a new estimate. Chris was easy to work with and knowledgeable of what was needing to be done. This quote was on a Tuesday and the whole team was at my house on Friday for AC replacement and new duct work for returns in the attic. They worked fast, efficient, and were in and out within 1/2 a day. Geovani, Carlos, and Brandyn were perfect.
On Monday (today at the time of writing 5/16/2022) Howard and Patrick showed up to build an encasement for the return that was exposed. They were quick and were in and out in no time. The work looks great as if the wall existed the whole time. They even did the base molding which is something I didn't even think about. I've currently talked to them about doing insulation as well just because this whole process from start to finish has been great. 10/10 would recommend.

Estes replaced my hot water heater and AC system at a fair price after multiple estimates. They were able to schedule both replacements the same day and within a few days of requesting the appointment. Both crews gave me a 20 min heads up on arrival. They were courtesy, polite, and respectful of being in my home. All of my interactions with the company - from office staff to sales to installation crews - have been positive and completely professional.

Do NOT schedule with Estes if you value your time. For the past 2 years, every appointment I have had with Estes HVAC and Plumbing has been cancelled during the day of the scheduled appointment. Today I called to make sure they were on their way as it was an "all day" appointment. Estes will not give a morning or afternoon window timeframe. At 2:00 pm I called to make sure Estes was really coming to my house (as they confirmed the day before) and was told they were not coming and too bad, but they were't going to show up! Don't waste your time with this company as it is clear they do not value their existing customers. I have had HVAC and Plumbing Maintenance Agreements with Estes for over 10 years, and paid in advance for their services. So sad Estes has become so unreliable.

Estes Services is a great company. I have used them twice and they have been very professional and prompt. Our technician today Paul Harrison was great! He was detailed and had great customer service. He explained things easily so I could understand. I definitely recommend them. 5 stars Service: Repair HVAC

Estes has screwed up at virtually every point of contact. Installers and service techs have arrived without the necessary supplies despite the work order (issued at least one day prior) being quite clear what the work was. In the latest fiasco, this wasn't even noticed until the tech was on his way at 2:30 pm, after I had spent all day waiting for him.
I was promised the 8:00 first slot the next day; instead the tech arrived at 10:30 am after going somewhere else first, then (I realized later) didn't perform two of the three manufacturer-recommended annual service items on the unit. In a previous incident, the installer failed to maintain the water in our geothermal system, leading to me having to call the geothermal service techs (another company) to bleed the air Estes had introduced into that system. At this point, I wouldn't trust them to operate a faucet, let alone work on one.

My experience with Estes was fantastic. From the young sales person Trey to the two young techs who installed my new furnace Jason and Reuben. They were polite, professional, helpful and did the job very well. They were attentive and I felt very comfortable with them. I joked about them looking so young and one of them said "Well we are the new wave I guess." Estes you are doing a great job training these young people and I will continue to use your services for another 20 years. Your women in the office are also enthusiastic and helpful. Good job 360!

We've used Estes for our HVAC needs since we purchased our home in 2005. They are always professional, courteous, reliable and efficient. We recently had our heating unit stop working and they were very quick at diagnosing the problem, offering options for repairing and ultimately sent two helpful technicians to install a new unit. Marcus and Austin were timely, efficient, courteous and did the job well. We highly recommend Estes.

I'm understand Covid has changed a lot of staffing models, but I reported a maintenance issue in October for them to tell me there were no open appointments until January 4th. I take off today to revive a call that they can't make it and to try next week. Spent so much money on this system but it seems like regular maintenance is just a haste to even get someone to show up.

I have known and done business with Tommy Estes for more than 40 years and three HVAC Systems but I do not recognize the company based on my latest shocking Furnace Inspection. When the technican finished he said that he would need to come back because he did not have the right filter size. I thought this was strange because this was not the first time that Estes has inspected this furnace. So, after two weeks elapsed and no Estes Technician calls to come back with a new filter, I purchased one and went up to my attic and I was shocked!
The filter had been removed from the filter housing and thrown about 6+/- feet away from the furnace, See attachec photo. To make matters worse, the metal cover to the filter housing was laying on the attic floor as well and that meant my heated air was escaping into the attic. I wrote a letter to Tommy and mailed it by US Priority Mail with tracking information, but the Post Office could not deliver the letter, even though I used the address shown on Estes website and on my Invoice. Needless to say I will not be doing any more buisiness with Estes HVAC.

Your website is so informative! I live in central Texas and have a heat pump. I had some concerns because I have never owned a home with a heat pump before this. While I read your website, all my questions were answered! If I lived in Atlanta, I would certainly trust you to come fix my HVAC system! Thank you for your excellent information!

Second review of Estee's. First time, we had just bought the place and had the sellers have Estes come and do a complete inspection and repair some things. Upon trying to use the AC the first time it would not work! They sent a very rude service tech, who said it would be around $1200 to repair. Keep in mind we just bought the place and had Estee's inspect everything!. must've been a horrible inspection job.
I wrote a review about my experience and a manager called because of the 1 star rating on yelp, I told him why, he said he understood and that they would give me a discount on the part that I needed. (somehow I feel he only reached out so I would change my review) They sent out Nick who did a nice job and repaired what they should've done to begin with!
What a horrible way to start a relationship with a company! Came back out to install a blower motor later, I had Nick do it and he did a great job. So I even bought a service contract with them against my better judgment. Now fast forward I just had them come out and do an inspection to make sure everything was up to snuff for winter, and they said everything was good.
Fast forward, just tried to turn the heat on and nothing happens! They said that they'll send somebody out but it'll cost me $59 and I'm sure a lot more for the part they will find a problem with. (why, ?they were just out here to make sure it was ready for the season). not to mention. Get ready for this, my appointment window was from 8 AM to 8 PM! (I believe that's called a day in English) Really? Is this what you do for your people that have contracts with you?. also told them many times that I would not be ready to be there until after 1:30, also requested that a manager call me back, twice!
As of now nobody has called me back yet! They say perception is reality when it comes to business, my perception is that they will nickel and dime you, and do everything possible so they can come out again again and again. $59 for a service call that should not happen, I don't even know what it would be if I did not have a service contract with them, I do know that service is only for people that can afford it however other than that I guess you're screwed.
As soon as my contract is up I will not renew, I wonder if the devil is offering a contract it seems like a safer choice. fancy trucks, poor and unreliable service. Update!. still no manager call, seems like my control board needs replaced at a range between 900 and $1400. Funny how something new goes out after each inspection huh? Update #2. OK, the tech just left and I went up to go take a picture of the board to order a new one and do it myself, (I am rather handy and not an office at such things).noticed there was a loose wire. Plugged it back in and now everything works perfectly! Good thing I didn't pay for that"fix".

Their service call is too expensive. The service people are nice, and if it wasn't for my service person being so nice, I probably would've continued searching elsewhere. The service call plus the cost of service is what you will go broke on. The customer service from their technicians is what will keep them afloat.

Sean Haynes came by for our regular AC and furnace services and did a great job! He was very informative, friendly, courteous, and professional. Even better, I was at an impasse with a bathroom reno I was doing and he helped me out tremendously. In just a minute or two, Sean was able to get the rest of my old 1970s shower door frame off, and I was able to get on with the project. Sean went above and beyond today, and he's my hero!

The service technicians have been great. We have had Richard come out and service a Rheem tankless (horrible product put in by our builder). Richard serviced kept it going. The tank finally died. Dylan B. came to the house and talk to us about a Navien tankless. Had it installed yesterday and it is everything he said it would be. Thank you for that experience.
On the other hand their Customer Service (folks taking the calls for service) need major training. Even the supervisor I spoke to needs training. I wrote a review directly to them and no response. If you can get past this team's incompetence and engage with a tech it is worth the aggravation.

I have used this company for years for routine maintenance. They ALWAYS find something wrong to charge for more and more services. They made an error in billing for a service in December and are now telling me that my account is 60 days past due (although they never billed me). They have lousy customer relations. Would not recommend. I have severed my relationship with them.

Annoyed! Requested a tech to install a gas dryer for me. There is gas to the house already, to the cooktop and furnace. He said over the phone that he didn't think it could be done if no place already behind the dryer but gave no real reason why. Came in looked for 5 to 7 minutes, said "no" (gas line is in the wall, right behind the laundry room), said to do it would be $1800 at least.
And if the gasline in the wall were tapped it would starve the furnace in Winter. Added he already knew this BEFORE he came because he does work in this community ALL THE TIME. Why not say that, up front, instead of showing up and charging me? I won't be calling Estes again. Just complained directly to them and they are refunding the service call charge. But why do it in the first place?

Dishonest, not forthright! I had an appointment. They were a no-show. Then lied saying they had come (three hours prior to my scheduled appointment), but because I wasn't home, they left. They insisted they had come to the correct address. He was not telling the truth! He was caught in his lie. There is no way he he even showed up. You see, I live in a very secure condo building where all vendors are photographed, must show ID and are registered.
They must go thru at least three security checkpoints; one to drive onto the premises, another to enter the building and a third to be escorted to my unit by a security guard. My condo security did not have any record of Estes plumbing or any vendors that came for me that day. If they can lie about keeping an appointment, I question their integrity and ability to honestly perform their work and their billing practices!

DO NOT HIRE ESTES! If I could give them negative stars, I would. I have used Estes for both plumbing and HVAC for a number of years. While they have always sent over very nice, professional service technicians, they must have them on commission, as they never leave a maintenance call without saying that I absolutely need to buy something.so much so that I now greet them at the door telling them to not upsell me.
They replaced one of my HVAC systems 9 months ago. It is now working improperly, and I was told that it was the fault of something that they did not install.however, I was told I was getting a 'brand new system.total and complete.' Now, they will charge a massive amount to simply get the system they installed operating properly. I asked the manager to do it at cost.removing any profit. His response? "Not my fault".what? The plumbing side is even worse. My service contract expires next month. Goodbye, Estes. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS!

Beware of Estes Services! I've had a service agreement with them for over 5 years. A new technician came out yesterday and suggested I get $3700 worth of unnecessary garbage and up to 10 pounds of Freon @$190 per pound that would cost $1900! My unit is old but has been running great for 5 years straight with 2 visits a year with my maintenance agreement.
My gut told me this new guy was trying to frighten me into getting at least the Freon. He knew the temperature would reach 90 degrees this weekend. After I asked him to leave. I had another HVAC person come out and was told that the technician was definitely trying to over sell me and get me to be happy getting the Freon and my system was running great. I didn't need any Freon and apparently, the service agreement. It's getting hot folks BEWARE!

I'm disappointed with how much I was charged for my last Estes Services visit. My HVAC system had a clogged drain line and Estes charged me $445 for what was essentially clearing the line and sucking up water that had overflowed into the pan beneath my water heater. The total price for the work done seems a bit outrageous to me. Here was the breakdown on my invoice: Cod004 - Clear blocked drain with nitrogen/CO2 - $186 Cod003 - Clean secondary drain pan - $180 Dpm501 - Diagnostic/inspection 1 system - $79 Total - $445 I agreed to the charges up front, but looking back, I probably should have shopped around. I've been a regular Estes customer since 2009.
I had them install one of my HVAC systems and they've come out to perform routine maintenance and fix problems over the years. In 2016, Esli and Levy replaced a bad capacitor in my heat pump. Later in the year, Esli came back, that time with Alex, and they replaced a bad variable speed blower motor inside my air handler. (During those visits, 2 techs instead of 1 had to come out due to complications with accessing the condominium's roof where the heat pumps are located.) A few weeks ago, Stan cleaned my drain line and pan.
All of the employees I've interacted with, both the reps on the phone and the techs in person, have been friendly and professional. The techs seem to have good availability (they can usually see me within 1-2 business days) and the quality of the work has been great. I just question Estes' pricing and value on this latest job. Stan modified my existing drain line by adding a piece of piping that I could unscrew to clear plugs myself in the future.
He also did a thorough check-over of my air handler and heat pump to make sure it was in good working order. One thing Stan discovered was that Estes, who installed this HVAC system for me years ago, originally told me the wrong filter size for my air handler. One of Estes installers even wrote the incorrect air filter size with a marker on the air filter access door.
For years, I've been using (or had my tenants use) standard 16 x 20 x 1 filters when I should have been using 16.5 x 21.5 x 1 (a special/custom size filter). Since the wrong size filter had been used all these years, the coils inside my air handler were only getting partial coverage. Of course, they got dirty and rusty. Stan cleaned them for me free of charge because Estes told me the wrong filter size to use from the beginning. Stan found the correct filter size for my air handler and I ordered correct-size filters from Amazon.
In total, the appointment lasted about 2 hours. I thought Stan was fantastic and he did an excellent job. Some HVAC service companies waive the diagnostic/trip fee if work is performed, but not Estes. Even if the $79 diagnostic fee was waived, $366 still seems like a lot to clear a drain line, suck up water from a drain pan with a shop vac ($180 for this service alone seems ridiculous), and inspect the system. I'm thinking $200-300 would have been a more reasonable price for this job, but I'm not in the business. I'm also disappointed Estes told me the wrong filter size to use when they installed my system. The equipment may not last as long as a result. Needless to say, I'll be looking elsewhere when I need HVAC work done in the future.
