Chancey and Reynolds, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Steve Chancey & Art Reynolds. Steve & Art acquired Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Tennessee. Steve, a native of Knoxville, also acquired a Master of Business Administration from U.T. In addition they were football players for The University of Tennessee Volunteers. Downtown office in Knoxville and Lenoir City with "Live People" to answer calls and assist customers.
From large construction projects to simple repairs, we are ready to solve your heating and air conditioning problems. Experienced with installation, repairs, & replacement of geothermal systems (water source heat pumps), ductless & ducted mini-split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, PTAC (thru-wall) systems & of course air conditioners.
I had trouble for over a year with HVAC company after company. Then I called Josh to come out and check my unit I knew the problem but I didn't want a cheap unit you use in a rental house this was my personal home. He was very professional and then the install team showed up at 8am sharp. Thanks to Paul Terry (foreman) and Dustin Rutherford, Dustin Thomas and Luke Wilsford.
Forecasts for the HVAC industry are very promising for manufactures, suppliers, and contractors. Huge increases in demand are expected over the next 10 years. Chancey & Reynolds is quite often hiring career-minded prospects in different areas of HVAC work. We would be glad to have interested people apply.

Our HVAC quit working on Saturday morning. I hesitated to call as the weather was going to be mild and I knew there would be an extra charge for the week-end work. I decided to call - left a message. I got a call back almost immediately from Ehsan. We talked for a minute and he gave me an ETA for later that afternoon. He showed up right when he said he would.
He was very polite and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the part on his truck. He fixed the fixed issue and made sure I understood what was done. After fixing the main issue, he went above and beyond by fixing my thermostat's base plate that was loose. Having such a good experience with Ehsan made me feel good about my decision to make the call for the week-end work.

Ehsan did an incredible job - timely, thorough and professional. During our normal maintenance, he detected an issue and determined a part needed to be replaced. Ehsan showed up on time and was polite and professional. He did a very thorough job inspecting our systems & found an issue that others had missed. He fixed it right away and we are so thankful! My family and I have had a wonderful experience with Chancey and Reynolds since moving into our home a little over 3 years ago. Ehsan, a technician, is someone that we have had out to the house a few times for maintenance and repairs! Called him over the weekend - he was here quickly! He fixed our issue right away- we were without heat and we all know how critical that can be in winter months!
He is kind, professional, timely, so positive, friendly, caring and truly cares about his customers. Ehsan is great asset to CR and we are so happy and satisfied with him and all the work he has done.

I have been a customer of Chancey & Reynolds for about 25 years and in 2 houses. One house in West Knoxville and one house in Halls. They are prompt, courteous and helpful. The scheduler is pleasant and always goes out of her way to help. The technicians always explain (in non-techy words) what's going on and look for ways to economize. They are polite, nice and trustworthy. When buying a new house, I had an emergency and Chancey & Reynolds sent someone out in 15 minutes! I will be a loyal customer forever!

I am HIGHLY disappointed in our service provided by Chancey & Reynolds. We used them to install our A/C unit 5 years ago and our duct work this past summer (even though we got better quotes from reputable A/C companies in the area) because of a family connection -- which is the most disappointing part! We have had to call after-hours three times in the past year because our air conditioning has gone out.
We have had to pay the expensive after-hours fee each time. After the second time, we got our duct work replaced. They were under our house for 2 days replacing it. This past week our air went out again. The after-hours service tech came out and told us that our drain line was clogged and unclogged it in less than 30 minutes. I questioned why no one told us it was clogged since they've come out so often in the past year, and the service tech said that if we had a maintenance plan with them, then they would come out twice a year to maintenance our entire system.
We have NEVER been offered a maintenance plan with them before, so I found that pretty odd. I spoke to Brad Chancey the next day and questioned why they had been out so many times and not told us about a maintenance plan. He said that most of the times customers ask for it. I'm not sure what kind of backwards business move that is, but I work in the service industry as well, and we let our customers know what services we offer, so then they can accept or decline the offer! Brad was extremely condescending and rude on the phone and even told me I don't want to see him "mad." A little threatening when you're speaking to a woman.
I kept repeating that I didn't know much about AC units and was just trying to understand. When I asked about our warranty and if someone else could work on our system he laughed maniacally and told me good luck finding someone else. He also told me that if I didn't want to pay, then I shouldn't have called after-hours. It was the rudest "customer service" experience I have EVER had.
I told 10+ people about it afterwards, and NONE of them were shocked about his behavior. I spoke to MULTIPLE other A/C businesses in Knoxville, and all of them told me if they were replacing duct work in someone's home, they would clean out the system as well. Even if the drain became clogged in the past two months (and they HAD cleaned our system. which they didn't.) we still have never been offered or told about a maintenance plan in the past.
Two other air conditioning companies I spoke to are having to clean up customers of Chancey & Reynolds that they have neglected in the past. One restaurant was having to have an A/C company out for three days straight just to clean out their unit because Chancey & Reynolds had never cleaned it! Brad seemed to think my husband and I didn't understand that "machines break, " which I am clearly aware of since we have had so many issues with the machine that they installed just in the past year.
What I don't understand, is the terrible customer service response by one of the owner's sons who definitely doesn't know how to talk to women. It is eye-opening when you mention the name Chancey & Reynolds and just hear negative reviews and people who are not shocked by the behavior :/ I would hate to have that reputation as a business in Knoxville!

What a breath of fresh air! An amazing technician came out within 4 hours of me calling. He was super knowledgeable and was able to tell me exactly what was wrong with my ac unit. It was so refreshing to have someone honest and fair (who didn't smell like a pack of cigarettes) come out. I will definitely be recommending them!
