Had an interview with these guys for a service technician. Was upfront and honest on what I had going on and what my pay and expectations were. Couldn't come to an agreement at the end and shook hands. It went fine. Then got a surprising email accidentally shared with me. Guy was smack talking me behind my back. Called the dude out and he came apologizing blah blah blah.
Very two faced. Apologized when he got caught in the act. This is a vice president of a company. Glad I didn't get a chance to work for them. These guys seem like bad news Smack talking me once then apologizing to me in the next. That Is the definition of two faced. Any technician who see this and is applying in the future run. Run run.

Everything was excellent. Don Harris was a pleasure to deal with. The estimate, scheduling the installation to helping me with the financing was above and beyond. The Installers were on time, personable and professional. An experienced technician was training a person who was on his first day with the company. There was a lot of training and yet the newbie jumped right in and seemed to want to learn. Can't praise the entire team enough.

Very prompt and very professional service! I used A-1 Mechanical for a furnace tune up and inspection and could not be happier. Technician Hayden was very polite, respectful, professional, and knowledgeable. My 20 something year old furnace was operating just fine, and they did not try to upsell me anything that was not needed. I feel that A-1 provided an excellent service at an excellent value. They've earned my trust and my future business.

I have done some research on installing a Nest theremostat. I needed a C-wire, but didn't have one, so I knew I needed the power connector that they put in the furnace, so I had what I needed. Jason got everything installed with no problem, and even helped while I answered some questions during setup (as there were a few that I wouldn't have known off of the top of my head). I'm very happy with my service and intend to use A-1 Mechanical again.

On a Sunday heater wouldn't keep running. Called A-1 and within hours they had someone out to check it. Technician was great and knowledgeable. Everything fixed in short order and no charge. A-1 also installed our new Heater and AC last October. Would recommend them to anyone. They were a pleasure to deal with. Thanks A-1 your professionalism was appreciated.

Always available, out technician took his time explaining things to us (Mike) and made sure all of our questions and concerns were taken care of. Our salesperson (Don) has always been available to me. They are a very knowledgeable group of service people. We had a glitch and had a tech back to our house in under 30 minutes. I feel great going with this company and we love our new furnace. Had three businesses give me quotes and I like what they had to offer, good price and outstanding service.

An HVAC repair company that won't repair furnaces. I have been running my furnace for years without a filter, leading to the furnace getting plugged up with dust and no longer functioning properly. I called A-1 to come out and disassemble the furnace and clean out the inner workings so it would function properly again and I was just told over the phone that A-1 "just does the oil change, they don't clean the car". Well.if I just wanted a wash and shine, they would be correct, but the cleaning is what will repair my furnace and they refuse to do the work!
I had a similar situation with my furnace in my other property which sat idle for over 10 years, and the local HVAC company there came out and cleaned it no questions asked and got it back into working order again. How hard is that?

AC broke immediately after their inspection, they came to look at it and pretended to test the capacitor (not the correct capacitor, not the right spot), recommended new unit, which would entail new furnace as well. Quoted an astronomical figure. Called another company as a second opinion, tested capacitor and was up and running for $80. Will never seek their assistance again.

A1 Mechanical is the epitome of why customers are leery of the service industry. This company was used by Allen Edwin Homes to install our HVAC system less than 5 years ago. Our AC stopped working and when I noticed frost around the lines I called a contractor to come look at it. The contractor found 3 leaks in the line from our AC into the home. The contractor said the installer used soft solder and the welds should have held indefinitely if the work was done right.
To fix the problem, the contractor quoted us $375.00. I called A1 mechanical and spoke with "Brian" who told me the workmanship would be covered by warranty and he would send a technician out to look at the issue. The technician came out two days later and told my wife he only found 1 leak and was going to jack us for a $90.00 service call, which we refused to pay and told them the only reason why he was out here in the first place was due to the poor workmanship of A1 mechanical's installation.
What is even more absurd, A1 mechanical was going to charge us over $800.00 to perform the fix. I asked "Brian" why A1 mechanical would not back their workmanship, as this was less then 5 years old. He told me that the leaks were caused by "normal wear and tear". I say BS. I asked him why on the phone two days prior he said the system was under warranty, but now it is not.
He said it has been longer than 5 years. I told him the system was installed in October of 2014. This argument went on and on until finally I told "Brian" that it is shameful his company will not back their workmanship and they were going to try to charge us over $500.00 more than the original contractor. His reply? "Go with them then". So much for customer service and thanks "Brian" for making sure another customer is fully satisfied! Awful company!

I called because the fan wouldn't shut off and there was no heat. It was the weekend, and they are closed on the weekend, but one of the techs returned my call from the emergency line. We needed heat as there was going to be snow in the evening. It cost $175 for him to come out. I was okay with that as it was an emergency. He was professional and figured out what was wrong.
That was awesome because all I needed was a limit switch. The tech informed me that the switch was $309. It was expensive because the "have overhead." He did say that he'd check with his boss to see if he can get that lowered. In 25 mins, I found the part online for $7.47 (new). Enough said. I've worked with this company since 2006. But not anymore.

What an absolute nightmare dealing with this company. We spent $10k in April on new ac/heat pump, thermostat and air purifier. Our air purifier stopped working so we called to have our system serviced. When the tech got here he noticed that an outdoor temp sensor hadnt been installed, in short our install was never properly completed. So we understand things happen and just say to finish it.
They came out and realized they has the wrong part for purifier but installed the sensor. THAT NIGHT our furnace quit. I called the tech that came out and he tried to help over phone but we needed another tech to come out. KEEP READING THIS GETS SO MUCH WORSE. They tell me we have a blown board and it needa to be replaced. Water damage from my humidifier that leaked.
I have a hard time believing thia was coincidence blowing a board on same day they were in there with a 6 year old furnace that was perfectly fine until then. Im not trying to incinuate anything i tentional was done to sabotage our furnace but I do believe sometjing inadvertantly happeAfter 2 weeks with no heat and them replacing another board which immediately blew upon power up (which changed the diagnosis from water damage on the board to water damage on a motor causing a bad ground ona different spot that blew the board) we agree to pay for just the part.
When they finally come out the furnace gets repaired and SHANE the tech has BRIAN the service manager on the phone asking how much to charge us. I stopped him politely and my EXACT WORDS "while i do appreciate what youve done today getting it going im not comfortable paying or signing anything until im sure this is fixed" this set off SHANE in which he starts a verbal confrontation in which he tells me to "sit the fuck down" in my own house in front of my wife and earshot of my daughter in her room!
I tell him to leave immediately amd HE REFUSES! Says he is going to take his parts back out of my furnace he doesnt care. It turns into a screaming match in which I tell him to leave repeatedly as it is edcalates and is becoming threatening and unsafe in front of my wife and daughter! He still doesnt leave! He us telling my wife how much he has helped us by ordering our parts like it was a favor and not his job!
When his partner comes into the house and gets him to finally leave he tells me to take my bullshit elsewhere and calls me a faggot. I ha e a gay daughter I dont need hate speech like that. I call BRIAN whom ive gotten the run around from and he basically defends SHANE and says "he will try and talk to SHANE about it" but still implies to me that I shouldve just paid him even though I wasnt yet satisfied. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION for my wife and daughter to have to witness.
I would never ever hire a company that condones tjia type of behavior. We filed a police report and Thank God for doorbell and indoor cameras that recorded everything. BEWARE

I called A-1 Mechanical to fix the furnace, they detected a frozen exhaust pipe that they fixed by replacing part of the pipe. 2 weeks after the furnace broke again so I called them again to check it out, he didn't game many details on how to fix it but he mentioned that the furnace was leaking and needed to be shut off, (he showed 30 ppm in the meter readings) I asked "why" but he didn't give many details, he strongly suggested that most likely its a crack in the heat exchanger but without heavy equipment that couldn't be verified (lie).
Because the furnace was installed by the previous owner and not by a professional they told me I would need to replace the whole thing (furnace and pipework), they quote me for 6000$. I decided to call another company to perform an inspection to ensure what A-1 was saying made sense, this technician could not find absolutely anything wrong with the furnace, heat exchanger or with the exhaust pipe, (he checked every single angle).
My strongest theory it's that the technician just let escape the gas accumulated (probably by the pipe freezing again) in the furnace while he was working on it, and try to use that fact to sting me. This kind of service it's not appreciated.

I have used a1 mechanical to install new equipment at two of my houses. No complaints. they did good work. were professional. I do think their service needs work. our air went down on Monday 7/2 at work. An office of 12 people hottest day of year. tech came out and said it was a transformer (which through my research is a small part). it is now 7/5 and they are telling us they are waiting for a part to come in still (UPS) and it is scheduled to come in tomorrow afternoon. will be fixed 7/6 or 7/9.
I wish they would have given us the option or communicated to us about overnight shipping. We are losing productivity and better service/communication would have helped solve problem. In 2018 it should not take this long to fix a small part.

Just purchased a new furnace from A1 Mechanical. Timely and courteous installation. My only complaint is that A1 installed the original duct work and I told sales rep that we would buy from them if they would help diagnose our cold air return. He overpromised, didn't follow through, Did not assert any effort, and did not even apologize. I will not be using them again.
