UPDATE: Lorne reinforced our positive impression of Key HVAC. He was timely, professional and knowledgeable. Similar to our last experience with Grace and the heating system, Lorne walked us through everything with the cooling system, which was really important as new homeowners. We will continue using Key and look forward to recommending Key to others as well! Grace showed up on time and was very professional.

Update: I had issues with my AC not cooling. Key was quick to get someone out to my house for service. Walter did a great job. He was quick with the repairs and had my unit working in no time. I highly recommend Key Heating and AC Jimmy has been my technician and he's done a great job. Helpful and professional. I'm very happy with my service.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with Lorne Smotrilla. He came into our home with muddy shoes and dirt was all over our home. Your technicians need to be trained to take off shoes, bring inside shoes or have shoe coverings. I am recovering from a bad wrist break and I had to vacuum the entire house and wash floors. My wife thinks some of our oriental rugs will need to be cleaned. Interesting that the following day after our AC tune-up, a coupon is emailed for $10 off. I will be deducting $10 from my $478 invoice.

Extremely poor communication from this family run business. With over 30 years experience in home services work at national brand companies, I can recognize an office with management problems. Responses to questions were virtually non-existent. A company executive visited my house and never introduced himself knowing full well of my discontent with communication. Warranty documents arrived three months after the installation was finished. Promises that were made for answers & return calls were not kept.
Supply chain shortages caused a change in equipment selection but that is no excuse for not relaying the information in a timely manner. The one shining star is Justin M., the lead on the installation team. His skill, dedication to solving problems, and professionalism are exemplary! A few challenges in the installation of two units were dealt with and overcome while always keeping the house heated. The install crew cleaned up after themselves each visit and respected our home with shoe covers, runners, and masking.

Our water heater failed so we contacted Key HVAC. I'm so glad we did. Richard came to our home and quickly figured out went wrong. He advised us of our options and is very knowledgeable. Not a salesman at all, comes across very nice and quite knowledgeable. We will be putting a new boiler in soon and will be calling Key back because of Richard. Thanks Richard Brian

Came an hour earlier than our appointment did not have access to the inside of the house because I was not there yet to meet them went ahead and replace something in the outside air conditioning unit without my permission or even giving me pricing. When I came there at the time of the appointment I called them after waiting a few minutes with no one showing up and they told me they already fixed it.
I tried the air conditioning and it was not working I asked them if they could come back because it's not working and that I did not give them permission to fix anything. They scheduled a time for someone to come back they did not show I had someone else to fix it. They continued to bill me and were un apologetic. So unprofessional

Service inspection was completed on 10/14/21 by Jimmy Campbell. All I can say is that he was EXCELLENT! Would highly recommend him. He went over and above explaining to me how the heating system works. He also pointed out red flags to watch for. For example, what the recommended psi and temperature guages should read when the system is running. We could not have had a better tech. Thank you for sending him.

A complete disaster. we spent good money on a brand new A/C system and they did not install it correctly. They kept sending service people over who agreed it was not correct, but no one did anything about it. They were supposed to come over and meet with my wife to cover everything, appointment was made weeks in advance on her day off and the completely ghosted her without any communication. could be the worst company I have ever dealt with, unprofessional and basically flat out liars. would love to see them dispute any of this as i have the complete email chain. Buyer beware!

Justin was prompt, knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and polite. He took the time to explain a few issues and recommended some options. He also stayed longer to make sure the system was operation properly when by chance our thermostat called for heat a few seconds after he completed testing the high temperature shutoff setting and the boiler fired back up. He determined that indeed was the case, but it did take him an extra effort.

Warning - if you need service, these guys will be completely unreliable. The put an emphasis on Sales over Service. Case in point, their service department is run by the Installs Team. We had a Mitsubishi mini split system installed in two units in our duplex. In both units there was a leak in the system! The first was found in the first year, which they fixed.
The second was found in the second year. They failed to fix that properly. Now, three years in they refuse to come out and address the issue in the second unit. Now we need to pay hundreds of $$$ for another company to come fix their mistakes. Avoid these guys like the plague.

We have used Key Heating & Cooling for over 7 years. In our recently construction (in-law) home, they installed the heating and cooling systems. They now maintain and service it yearly. We decided to use KEY again to install a 3 head Split System AC/Heating system in our second home. Marie, Matt and the crew are amazing. They are friendly, fast, efficient and knowledgeable.

A great installation experience. Everyone I had contact with from Marie who performed a walk around and estimate, to Pete and Tim who installed the split systems, all were very professional and explained everything as they proceeded. Their work (and work ethic) is excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting to install a split system.

Our Geo Thermal A/C was acting up. It would not hold temp and kept shutting down. We called Key on 6/28 and with the weather they weren't supposed to come until 7/6 but called this morning cause they had a cancellation. Yahoo!
Walter came and in less then 5 minutes detected a clogged condensate line. 15 minutes later reeeelif ! KEY AND WALTER WAS OUTSTANDING AS USUAL!

Also, the technician, Richard Chagnon, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and was upfront about everything. He showed up on time, was courteous with use of his mask, and cleaned up after inspection. I have some replacements ahead, and on the basis of today's experience, will call them for that work.
