Pyramid replaced our aging gas furnace and air conditioner with a new system. Athen and his crew were prompt, professional and courteous. Their hard work had our new system up and running in one day and we are 5 star pleased. Will recommend Pyramid to all in our area. I recommend Pyramid H & C. Athen came out and looked at our home, our needs and then created several options for us to replace and upgrade our old system. They did what they said they would do for the price quoted and on time too! They were professional and friendly and did a great explaining things for us as well. Thanks Pyramid! Service: Installation

I have been using Pyramid for years now to take care of my heat pump system and they have always been great! I get quick service and they know what they're doing! Of course I always wince and moan when they tell me how much it's going to cost, but it would cost the same elsewhere but without the great service! Services: Heating system repair, A/C system maintenance

I've already written a review on other things they were hired for from months ago but now have additional info. After they cleaned my gas fireplace about a year ago and did other part replacements, the wall switch to turn on the fireplace no longer worked. They came out to fix that and said there was a short in the wall wiring and had to install a remote control instead.
Well I haven't used the fireplace since then and just had All Fuel Installation and Service come out. The tech said all it was was a ground wire not connected right in the gas fireplace, obviously caused by Pyramid when they hooked everything up.

I'm so happy with Pyramid and all of their work to plan for and install my new heating and cooling system in my condo. Dave was a true professional throughout the process. I live in a historic building so the whole process was complicated, involving city permitting and landscaping and tricky architecture to navigate. I had called three other companies and was feeling hopeless about getting heating/cooling in my home because no one would take this project on, or I wasn't happy with their proposals.
Then I called Pyramid. Dave did his research and took care of every single step of the process and did so with attention and detail. Over the three day install the crew did incredible work. I was nervous about having people in my home due to covid, and Levi and the crew were exceptionally kind, respectful, efficient, and thoughtful. Every afternoon when they were done for the day they did such a thorough job of cleaning that I wouldn't have known they were here.
The new system all looks clean and unobtrusive, and it's quiet and runs well. My neighbors, too, were happy with the install and how much thought the crew put into making things go so smoothly. I also had good experiences with Caitlin in the front office who helped me navigate the payment. It's cold in Portland this week and I'm enjoying the heat for the first time and am so happy I made the decision to work with Pyramid. I recommend Pyramid with enthusiasm. (No one asked me to write this review--I am just so impressed with Pyramid that I felt compelled to write).

From the beginning, we had a wonderful experience with Pyramid Heating & Cooling. Ellen was a pleasure to schedule services with. We had someone come out to take a look at our furnace and make sure that it was in working order. Our furnace is very old, and we knew that it was making a clunking sound. Deon diagnosed the issue, in that we needed a new motor to the furnace.
He found the the part, drove to pick it up and installed the new motor all in the same day. He was courteous, prompt and very professional. We had another person from Pyramid Heating scheduled to come out the next day to do duct cleaning. Dale arrived on time, was courteous and did a wonderful job cleaning the heating ducts and dryer vent. I am so glad that I called this company to do this work. I feel like I got a lot for the money that I paid.

What a fantastic company to work with! CALL THESE GUYS! Do not let the other reviews sway you. I have no affiliation with them and I loved my experience. We had about 4 or 5 different companies come out to give us a quote on a new heat pump (ours died of old age in Sept/2021). Wow! I had no idea what a boys club the heating industry is! I (the "lady" of the house, who did the specs research and was paying for the project) was not even acknowledged by these other companies. Really, guys?
Not even a "hello"? Not even going to acknowledge the fact I am standing here too? SUPER unimpressed. But then I got a recommendation to contact Pyramid. Totally different experience. The sales rep came over, was completely respectful, figured out really quick I was the one to talk to and we had a great time. He liked that I had researched all the specs for the different units based on home size and modes.
So that made our conversation and quote a fantastic experience. Who recommended Pyramid? A friend getting work done at their house, with their tech on site, was absolutely wonderful answering the 9 million questions I had AND recommended the most amazing space heaters to keep us warm until we figured out what we wanted to do. Good on you Pyramid! You got good people!
The pricing was in line with the national average is, WHICH IS HALF OF WHAT THE OTHER DUDE BRO COMPANIES QUOTED ME! I am still bitter about those other companies. The project manager was quick to respond and gave us the timeline for install. The first crew came to remove old items (and I do mean OLD items). These guys were so nice, so quite (I work from home and didn't hear a peep), and incredibly respectful.
The second crew that came out finished the installation of the new unit. These guys were great, just like the first crew, and spent a ton of time answering my questions and instructing how to use the new thermostat. It was an absolutely fantastic experience where everyone involved was on their A game, and really put out a feeling of trust. At no point and time did I feel I was being manipulated or lead astray.
A big shout out to those who got us warm again: GREG D.- best ever first impressions person to send out. Greg you are awesome! Even when I called you Gary by accident, multiple times. SORRY GREG! Tony P - Seriously, thank you for the heater recommendations and answering questions and not pushing your company on us. If I was smarter back then I would have just gone with Pyramid first!
I thought I knew better. I did not. Ethan and Jordyn- You two were soooo fast and so quiet! Beautiful install guys. Seriously. Thank you! Matt and Shawn (I probably misspelled that) - Killer job. Fast, quiet, informative, personable. Really had not had that kind of experience with service in Portland. Faith = restored. You guys rock. And of course our main contact Caitlin - you handled me really well! Not many people can deal with this high energy type a hot mess. You are fantastic. Quick, efficient, direct and so easy to work with.

I can't recommend Pyramid enough! from the first call when our furnace went out, to estimating, to ordering and installation they were phenomenal. They were quick and patient with all my questions. Our furnace went out the week is snowed and they went above and beyond to help us quickly so were were not freezing. Do yourself a favor and use Pyramid for all you heating & cooling needs!

From heroes to losers instantly. I had given them 5 stars and recommended them to friends and family due to timely service with heating system issues. As soon as they replaced my system, however, under a warranty claim but still after $5000 of labor costs, they have refused to respond to 3 inquiries regarding an out of the box failed Carrier Infinity Thermostat I was forced to buy when I opted for the Carrier Infinity furnace.something more or less forced as a decision by both Carrier and Pyramid for the alternates were beyond unreasonable in thousands of $$$ more cost. Covid is zero excuse after giving them 3 opportunities and chances to actually take my call or call back. Shame on Pyramid! UPDATE 1-5: My backordered Thermostat was replaced today quickly and instantly I saw just how defective my old one was.
Not only does it now follow the established schedules, it prompts me asking how long I want to maintain a manual temperature (something it never did before). I 110% understand a backorder situation.the complete lack of notifying me of such or even returning my multiple inquiries over many weeks (being patient).yet having a reply to a Google review on the issue within 2 hrs.is what garners a poor review that "could" continue to improve as Pyramid continues to regain my trust. A very long fact: it is FAR more expensive to regain a lost customer than it is to keep one. There are a lot of Carrier dealers in the Portland area.

Pyramid installed my system 5 years ago and maintains it with semi-annual inspections. I have total confidence in their care! Deon was here recently, and was efficient and personable as always. I learn new things from him every time he comes. He's so knowledgeable and experienced. Has that old-fashioned sense of service! I'd request him every time!

To start, Dean was right on time. He informed me immediately that he couldn't do the A/C maintenance because it was too cold outside and I really appreciated Dean letting me know that right up front. Dean not only did a great job with the furnace maintenance, he educated me on our system and how to make it more efficient. This was great because my wife and I recently purchased this home. Based on my positive experience with Dean, I would recommend him and Pyramid Heating & Cooling to everyone. Dean is an excellent representative for your business and I will request him each time!

I am updating my review, following a city inspector performing a final inspection on the installation. The inspector was unable to approve. The inspector listened on speakerphone to my call to the company, which went to an answering service where I had to repeat information multiple times. The inspector called the call "painful."

Prior to contacting Pyramid Heating and Cooling, I had a different company look at my broken air conditioner. That company told me I needed a bunch of expensive parts, and they left without fixing my air conditioner and then ghosted me. Randy from Pyramid Heating and Cooling diagnosed and fixed my air conditioner without any expensive parts. Randy was prompt, extremely courteous, and very effective. My AC is not only working, but it is blowing colder air and is more efficient. Thanks Randy for fixing my AC the day before the temps hit 100.

Hi Pyramid Heating. It's Kevin Keene. I'm still waiting for a call from your service department about my AC unit. You have my number, please call me ASAP. I want to give you a good yelp review, but, so far its not looking to good. I'll change my one star rating if you call me quickly and get my system fixed.

December 2020 we paid for air duct assessment. It is July 2021 and we still have not received the assessment. We called in once every month for last 6 months and never received one call back. We want a refund or the report but have received neither. Every time we call in a manager is unavailable and we give them our information and nothing happens. This delayed the project in our house and now its summer when everyone else is booked up.really sad situation.

I cannot believe how terrible Pyramid has been to me. First, they leave a huge scratch on my wood floor and refuse to even respond to me about it. Second, the cooling system is making a horrendously loud noise and they delayed weeks in sending anyone out, he came at the wrong time, and now he's telling me there's nothing wrong with it. After he left, now it's been leaking water to the point of damaging my walls.
I keep sending them videos showing them how loud it is (we literally can't concentrate or talk when it is on) with no response. I absolutely do NOT recommend this company and hope we can come to a resolution of this matter soon given the severe heat wave.

Customer service is everything. My circumstance will test how well Pyramid will respond to an issue that they caused and haven't yet remedied. Pyramid didn't install an air purifier system when we paid for it over a year ago. I didn't know it hadn't been installed until a year later during the one-year maintenance check. Installation is this week.
As of now, I had to push Pyramid to discuss compensation for holding onto our money for over a year. When I ask staff about compensation so we can work out a remedy, I'm told that they will need to talk to the sales/business manager. This has happened four times. So far, I've heard nothing. This morning was my fifth time calling in. Should have this been remedied immediately? Yes. Has it been? No. Manuel Contreras

I hired Pyramid for two jobs: 1) installing a new furnace and 2) duct cleaning. General review: experienced crew but unreliable scheduling and poor customer service. They missed an appointment entirely, rescheduled and then showed up 30 minutes outside of the 2 hr time window they gave us. After asking, all the offered us was $25 dollars off of our $5,000+ contract. Overall, I was disappointed and will not give them anymore business. 1) The furnace installation went relatively smoothly.
The guys accidentally cut a wire when they were installing the sidewall exhaust so we lost power to a portion of our house, including our internet. However, they fixed this within 30 minutes and it wasn't a big deal. 2) For the duct cleaning, I got a text only 15 minutes before our 2 hr time window stating that they would not make it out to our house that day and we would need to reschedule.
A little inconvenient since I had just worked two 16hr shifts and had woken up early to let them in for our scheduled duct cleaning/had planned my day around the appointment. So we rescheduled for another appointment and when the day came they didn't show up for the 2 hr time window they gave us (11am-1pm). Eventually the technician showed up at 1:30 and did a solid job as far as I can tell. However, we had planned our day around a 11-1pm arrival time and I had to reschedule other appointments because I was stuck at home until 1:30 to let the tech in and show him around.
I know other HVAC and duct cleaning companies offer an automatic discount if they show up outside of their 2 hr time window. Pyramid does not. I had to ask them twice and after that, all they offered was $25 off of a $5,400 contract. Disappointing. I will not be giving them anymore business.

Pyramid Heating & Cooling went above and beyond to assist us with our old and outdated heating furnace. They have been extremely prompt, responsive and professional in all of our dealings. It is plainly evident they are a high integrity company firmly rooted in a core value of customer service, and the exemplary service we've received is testament to that.
Everyone we've dealt with--from the technician who did the diagnosis, to the technician who came out to price out an estimate for replacement, and all of the front desk staff who helped coordinate those requests--has been very attentive and helpful. We can't recommend them enough!

This is regarding an issue we are facing with an electric furnace service done by Pyramid. To provide some background, Tech #1 (name withheld) serviced our HVAC system in June of 2020 - one electric furnace, two gas furnaces, and one air conditioning unit. We paid Pyramid $581 for this service. Tech #1 caused a loose wiring issue that caused the electric furnace to malfunction.
The furnace was working with no issues before it was serviced. The electric furnace stopped heating the same day it was serviced. We got in touch with Pyramid and they dispatched another technician - Tech #2 (name withheld) to diagnose the furnace and fix the problem after two weeks. Tech #2 replaced a coil and we paid him $148. One of our gas furnaces is located in the attic.
While servicing it, Tech #1 had walked over the attic insulation and caused a big crack in the ceiling drywall in one of the rooms on the second floor. It cost us $350 to get the ceiling drywall repaired and painted. Getting back to the electric furnace, it again stopped heating a few months later. I requested Tech #2 to come back and take a look in Nov of 2020.
This time the furnace limit switch was diagnosed to have failed and we were billed a diagnostic fee of $109. The limit switch most likely failed due to a short circuit caused by Tech #1. The Tech neither tested the limit switch nor the coil while servicing the electric furnace. Tech #2 recommended that the limit switch needs to be replaced for reliable operation and quoted a price of $148 to replace it.
It should be noted that a limit switch for an electric furnace sells for anywhere from $4 to $25, depending on the manufacturer. Yet, the price quoted by Pyramid was $148. The limit switch has not been fixed yet despite multiple calls and emails to Pyramid. As evident, servicing the HVAC system has cost us $1,336 (including costs for limit switch diagnostics and repair), primarily due to the electric furnace breakdown and the ceiling drywall repair.
This is triple the price charged by competitors to service a similar HVAC system. We requested Pyramid to do the following to compensate us for the trouble caused by their technicians: 1. Perform a complimentary replacement of the limit switch and waive the diagnostic fee. 2. Refund the money for coil replacement for the electric furnace. 3. Compensate us for the ceiling drywall repair. 4.
Ask Tech #2 to thoroughly check the electric furnace to ensure all circuits are in good working order after the limit switch is replaced. To date, Pyramid has not responded to multiple requests by phone and email. Bottomline: Please tread with caution when dealing with this company. Pyramid needs to be more professional in promptly addressing problems that their technicians cause when servicing HVAC systems.

Pyramid Heating Cooling front office lacks professionalism and communication skills with their clients. I called to reschedule and make a payment with the representative but they where to busy at the time and asked to call back, which never happens. I called back and the same thing happens again. After being polite the first two times it took an unfriendly conversation to get a reschedule and payment for the first trip completed.
After the first trip to unhook a vent that took thirty minutes and $109 it took ten minutes and a $170 to reconnect due to a return trip fee that was never communicated. After a month of thinking that the second trip was covered with the first trip the front office rep calls and asks for said payment. I don't leave any yelp reviews due to understanding the troubles of customer service, but this is the worst I have experienced from a front office when'd t comes to customer service rescheduling and payment collection.

This is the second time I have had Pyramid Heating and Cooling come out and Dion the technician was very professional and did a great job in servicing our furnace and air conditioner. I asked him a few questions about the furnace and he was a wealth of information, the man definitely knows his business. I couldn't ask for anything more and am very happy with their service.

Levi and Shawn and the rest of there crew did I great job and brought our homes lungs anew! Worth the cost and very professional we were able to replace both our ac and heating units and move the ac condenser off the patio to the side of our house in 2 days! They even made the condensation valve drain into our laundry sink instead of attempting to damage our foundation underneath the house!

My household decided to get our air ducts clean before welcoming a new baby after moving in to our new place 10 months ago. Oh the stuff they vacuumed up from children's pencils, carpet fibers from the 80s, dust, more random kid's toys, and etc. I found this company through Yelp, in the past I've used coupons from those Clipper ads and the meh quality of service and high pressure sales weren't used on me with this company.
We had indoor cats and duct cleaning freaks them out. The serviceman was so respect of that, I'll be sure to use them again. The price was way fair for our house in comparison to my previous experience from the other companies from the Clipper ad. They bait and trap you with a deal, then invoice you for something way more. This time I took time to comb through tons of vendors and happy with my decision with this company. They also provided a quick quote on Yelp too with in a day.

Super professional from quote to completion. Everyone I dealt with was informative, knew their stuff and gave us great advice. They were not the most expensive quote, and they didn't try to oversell or upsell us. Buying a water heater isn't the most exciting thing in the world, but if you need one, you want to get the best solution for a good price. They also installed it quickly. I highly recommend Pyramid.

Manager sent me an email. Have tried to call and email her back and as of today - no response. Stand by my original post. The technician wasn't helpful, didn't perform the service as promised, and charged us $109 when he was only here a few minutes. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Update 6/11/2018: Spoke with service manager at length immediately following my last post, she promised to send out another technician and refund our money - told her a refund wasn't necessary, but I would appreciate another technician and haven't heard anything since. Just done at this point. They've had plenty of opportunity and time to make this right.

Please be aware of this completely unethical company. I ordered service on a new ac unit they installed. They came and caused a leak that destroyed my living room. They made no effort to fix the issue, threatened me personally over the phone, and denyed responsibly throughout the insurance process. This lead to them winning in insurance arbitration (somehow) even though they refused to cooperate in any way with the process including submitting any documentation (and I submitted all documents/pictures).
Because of Pyramid's absolute lack of any moral compass, I lost $10,000 dollars in repairs and three months of use our our living room. Please avoid the heartache and financial pain Pyramid caused my home and family and choose a vendor that respects their customers. Calling Pyramid was the worst mistake I could have made please don't become a victim as well.

I contracted Pyramid Heating and Cooling to do a replacement of a retrofit gas furnace in my 1920's craftsman home. Initially the experience was quite good, as the office staff and the estimator were both quite helpful and friendly. They took plenty of time to explain my options and to help me with the required paperwork. Overall I ended up choosing them over several competing bids, and I contracted Pyramid to install an Infinity 96 condensing gas furnace. That, however, is where the good experience ended.
The installers decided to restructure the system in order to make it easier to install in the existing location, but the changes led to a system that didn't serve the needs of the building well. Ductwork was installed that occupied valuable space in my basement, and due to the proximity of the fan to the return the system ended up being louder than the builder furnace that it replaced.
Beyond the issues with the engineering of the new system was the complete lack of craftsmanship in the install. The system whistled due unplugged holes all over and around the unit, and due to recycled ductwork from my old system, presumably to save costs. In order to install the venting into my basement space without modification, the decision was made to drill the venting partially through the siding and partially through the homes original woodwork doing substantial damage to the exterior of the home.
This damage was later partially repaired by the commercial arm, but never completed. I contacted Pyramid about reinstalling the system in the original configuration, but they struggled to engineer a solution that would fit in the existing space. Once the system had been disconnected to return it to the original configuration I noted the amount of damage that had been done to the furnace itself in order for them to fit it in their original install location.
Concerned with the damage to the furnace I asked them to please replace the damaged unit and install it in the original location. Their response to this was to abandon the project and suggest that I contract another installer. Due to abandoning the project during peak install season for HVAC, I've now spent the last 6 weeks without heating or air conditioning while I contract with a competent installer with a little pride in their craft.
If you have a relatively simple new construction install your experience could differ, but if it's at all complicated buyer beware. Long story short, the office staff is great, but don't let them trick you into using their installers. I would certainly look elsewhere first.
