We have a oil contract as well as a service contract. Slomin's is refusing to deliver oil to our house, even though we have less than a 1/2 tank because our contract is $2.79 a gallon. We signed this contract last summer and they are refusing to honor our contract because current oil prices are well above our fixed rate. We have called and sent countless delivery requests that have gone unanswered until today, in which they stated we understand your need, but we will NOT be delivering oil to your residence.

I don't understand how they can refuse when we have a legally binding contract. I would not recommend doing business with this company. They do not care about breaking their part of the contract, but made us sign documents stating that if the customer breaks the contract we will be fined hundreds of dollars. The customer service department has been nothing but rude and condescending.

The worst! If you want to cancel an alarm, you have to wait on the phone for 5-10 Minutes.and once they answer they switch you to another call center! By the time they cancel thr police; they're at your door. i complained and the lady told me that it's been that way for 100 years! Exactly still operating like we are in the 1800's. Need I say more!

The alarm part of slomins is fabulous great customer service great system great value they really do a good job the cameras I've had nothing but problems with it's really not part of the alarm system but they do sell them expensive I went for the whole package I got the ring doorbell I've got cameras everywhere and I've honestly had nothing but problems from day one with the cameras so honestly well I think slomins is a great company for oil a great company for the alarm and overall just amazing 5 star and everything else I don't think I would buy cameras from them again I'm locked into a contract and the 1 negative thing about slomins is once you sign the contract they got the vice grip of death on you they will not let you out of it you will pay

If I could give them a zero star I would. I am on my 3rd reschedule service call for the oil burner maintenance, no one show up on the first 2 service call and I waited till 6:00 pm both times and only have them call me at 6:00 pm to advise they needed to cancel. could they not advise me earlier. Since I already paid for the maintenance service for the year I am held hostage to this abuse. I've been with them 4~5 years, never had problems until this year.

I was with this company for 16 years. Although, the service had taken a decline over the years, I asked them to upgrade their 16 year old equipment. They tried to up-sell services which I declined! They conveniently canceled my account leaving me without coverage to my home. They will not remove this old outdated garbage. They will be receiving a bill from Mr for the removal of this trash! Lousy customer service! Save your time and money.go elsewhere! Not even worth the inquiry. And if that black smooth talking guy comes into your home.the kill is when he returns! The worst!

I have a contract with Slomins 7/2/21 -7/2/22 for a guaranteed fixed heating oil at $2.949 a gallon. According to my online account I was due to receive a fill up on 6/2/22. When I reviewed my account the day before to my amazement the date was changed by Slomins to 8/9/22, a month after my contract expires. I immediately called Slomins and spoke to Nakia who had no answer as to why the date was changed but he said he would put me in for a delivery but could not give me an exact date, could be 2 weeks but no promise!

I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor, was told no one was available and will have a supervisor call me back. I'm still waiting to hear from one. I'm now down below 1/4 of a tank. Slomins ALWAYS in the past delivered oil when it was between 1/4 and a 1/2 regardless of the season. I feel this is a stall tactic so they can let the contract run out and charge customers a much higher price.

I see there have been numerous complaints to the Better Business Bureau about this same thing. I'm appalled that a company like Slomins would stoop to these measures. Added my name to another complaint to the BBB

I am so disappointed with this company I cannot understand why it taking over a week for an oil delivery. I think they are trying to make me run out of oil so they can charge me a $200 fee just to prime the boiler. This company told me that my delivery was scheduled to come on The following Wednesday, then come Thursday. No oil. I call and asked them where's my oil delivery and they tell me that I'm not on the schedule.!? Are you kidding? Unbelievable!

I was on the website and requested oil over 10 days ago and they said that during the spring and summer they don't have enough drivers. Why is this my problem? I am confident that you don't care about your customers!

Very Unprofessional and Rude People. I Signed Up for the Heating Oil for 1 year and Cancelled the Contract in next Day which is within 3 days cancellation Window and I requested them to Cancel the Delivery. Unfortunately the Customer Service Guy told me -its Customer's responsibility to Ensure to stop Driver Making Delivery and they can not Advise me any certain time Window. Means- I have to Stay outside the House Whole Day-Look for their truck and When see the Driver- Ask him not to make Any Delivery.

Guy told me He Can not communicate Driver for Safety reason- Don't know why a Text can not be sent to the Driver- how they Communicate Driver or Driver Communicate for emergency. I felt like they are just doing Scam. However I waited for 2 hrs for the Truck and no one shows up - After 45 mins Suddenly I hear some noise outside and Saw a Slomin's Truck and when Asked Driver -Said he Completed Delivery. Most Rude Part is they Did not make any Apology even though I informed them the Cancellation at 9 Am in the Morning. I will Never recommend Slomin's to Anyone.

Slomins Shield Security system Long Island. maintenance for battery and sensor supervision. Long Contract Cant Break. 1. problem long required contract cant get out. Any one know how to get out? 2. problem the sensor batter die's constantly. AND you cant turn it "off Beeping". So you have to pay them $89 for visits week days only. they don't come on weekends. 3. when you change the battery your self. loss of supervision. So the sensor will be of anyway

Was a customer since 1993, they are the worst to deal with. At the end of my contract quoted me a price $1.80 over my last price. Told them to cancel the contract, they told me some would call within 24 hrs. Got an email that the contract was cancelled. Called the following day ( today ) told the rate is now.10 ( cents ) more. What a way to treat a long term customer.

Honestly? I've been with Slomins for the past four years. Although the price of oil has been good due to having the combination of alarm and oil, I've had problems with service of my alarm system and every year, the oil contract lapses without a reminder, phone call, email, smoke signal.anything. It would be nice if I were contacted to let me know "the contract is going to expire, would you like to renew?" to lock in a cheaper price. Instead, it expires and I get a bill in my mailbox for a ridiculous oil price. Slomin's.do better for your customers. Have a better relationship with them instead of treating them as "end users" and basically slaves to the oil companies.

I have a contract for fuel oil that Slomins offered me in February that is good for 1 year. They cancelled it because they couldn't get in touch with me on the number they had on file. I have a legal, binding document from them and they are not honoring it.

So unhappy! If you move, and do not have oil anymore - Slomins will charge you $500 to terminate. Every other utility company is supportive and makes your change and cancellation easy. Slomins is making money off a life event and will NOT waive a fee. Gosh should have waited to buy a house because i have an oil contract! Horrible - would not recommend their service to anyone!

Not the best in the market. Awful long contract, super high termination fee. Then I should know something was wrong. But I was stupid enough to continue with them. The company has no value, their APP is buggy, took me 2 months to terminate the contract. They did not even do an installation since the everything is already installed. They did not even include a video doorbell as promised, because wiring is hard?

What a disgrace this company is. My oil burner is not functioning and making scary noises. I fear severe damage will result or a safety issue. I called this morning to request service. I was told you have heat see you next week. Three calls and four hours later still waiting for a manager to call me back. This company spends a kings ransom attracting new customers and can't handle the ones they have.

This is a case study in a tone a tone deaf company that couldn't care less about its customers or their safety. Four hours to talk to a manager. Can the be anymore incompetent

Slomins used to be so good with great knowledgable technicians. I have been using them for many many years but people be aware they have changed. Their service is horrible, I had no heat in my first floor of my house and they pushed my service call to the next day my pipes froze. When you call for your annual cleanup they treat you like you are asking for something for free. Always paid a little more for oil with them because of good service now i can't wait to leave as soon as my contract expires. Stay away or you will be sorry.

I was dupped by the sales person who convinced me to take the higher priced plan because I could always change my mind if I called customer service before install and told them and they would give me the lower price. I called customer service the next day and they told me that it was no problem and that I would get the lower price. Since then they are billing me for the higher plan and when I call customer service they tell me that only the salesperson can change the price and when I call the sales person, he tells me that only customer service can charge it. This is supposed to be a family business but they won't treat you like family.deceptive business practices is what you'll get.

Nothing like calling a company that you paid to have a service contact with an emergency and being told see you next week. Four calls and four hours and no manager calling me back. The burner can cause damage to my home and yet no one calls. It can cause a safety issue. No one calls. Imagine advertising for new customers while ignoring your current. So disappointed

I was a satisfied customer for over a decade - until last Christmas eve when our oil ran out. That's when I learned that they had deposited my check for $450 and terminated our service contract. On X-Mas eve. They gave me a partial refund, but I think I am entitled to a full refund and I shouldn't have to ask for it. They said the reason for cancelling our account was that our oil tank wasn't safe, and that we needed a new one ($3000+). We got a second opinion. The new company did not think we needed a new tank. So, they filled it. That was a month ago. We haven't seen or smelled any oil since.

If zero stars was an option, that would be mine. A nice salesman starts out the process but after that, you will be in trouble. I was a customer with 2 homes for over 10 years. I have excellent credit and pay my bills. Sometimes a small balance may be due, like $100, and they put you "on hold"without notification (no text, courtesy phone call or other technology; this hold notice is sent by snail mail and usually doesn't even make it) - meaning they don't deliver oil to you at all and you have no idea what is going on.

When you discover you have none because you wake up in a house that your family is freezing cold, or you discover you are about to run out, they take their sweet time showing up to your home when the temp is 15 degrees F and charge you a "restart" fee of hundred or dollars. This has happened several times. They don't mail invoices and told me last time to pay the receipt from the oil truck which I did on Jan 8, and paid in full. Unbeknownst to me, there was some $175 balance and they stopped delivering oil to my home on 1/20, after 10 loyal years of being a customer on 2 houses!

Their archaic by mail billing is a joke. I feel that they are purposely not delivering to customers to price gouge them for "restarting." It is absolutely outrageous. Even after paying in full, they do not come to the house and claim they will come in 3-5 days! I never leave reviews but I felt compelled to warn the general public of this rogue, self-serving company!

Customer service is nasty, unhelpful, management refuses to get on the phone, they leave you on hold forever, and seem to have interest in losing customers. Can't wait to cancel my service! When your "contract" runs out, it goes on auto-renew, although no one contacts you to see which program you have interest in, so you get stuck with market pricing.

I highly recommend Scaggs Walsh, a company with class, who treat their customers with respect. As a realtor who meets many new buyers, I will encourage everyone, including my colleagues not to refer any business to this horrible company who is clearly mismanaged, greedy and does not serve the public well!

They're only getting one star because I have to put something. They are awful! I'd use anyone but them. They held up an oil delivery on the coldest day of the year because they thought we were late signing a new service contract so we are faced with nearly running out of fuel. I had to run out and add diesel fuel to my tank to keep from running out. They have horrible business practices look elsewhere.

Just signed up with a contract, two weeks later still no oil. We're just below 1/8 and have been lied to numerous times about a delivery date. Managers couldn't care less. Canceled and just signed up with Petro who's sending an emergency refil asap. Save yourself the headache and stay away.

Do not use them. Horrible customer service. They called the evening before my appointment to cancel then they on to tell me I can't have my boiler serviced unless I wait another three months. Water is leaking from the boiler and they do not care. ADAM the manager needs to be retrained on customer service and how to treat customers. As a healthcare worker who has to fight for a day off in the height of Covid, it is horrible to come home after a 15 hour shift and have to deal with this. Adam is a great representation of how slomins customer service is the worst in the business. Keep running the business into the ground Adam. Your doing a great job.

Like many others have said, my advice is to avoid this company. They use shady tactics and try to strong arm you into becoming a customer. I am not a customer and simply used my phone to enquire about their home heating oil pricing options. They force you to sign and HAND DELIVER or mail a cancelation form if you choose not to use them. Believe me, you will not be getting my business. Their old logo looked like a pair of clown shoes. This company is a bunch of CLOWNS. AVOID!

Using Slomins's for the past 5 years. Have a service. Contract and call for a price fix. Oil deliveries every few weeks and I dont get a high bill as some companies wait till almost empty, have been satisfied with their oil and security system.

My elderly mother-in-law, has been calling for 7 hours to get an emergency service call. House has no heat, oil fumes, basement filling with haze. No one is willing to provide a time for a service call. 6:30 PM now, inside temp at 62 and dropping. 32 outside. 82 years old. Won't let me give zero stars, so 1. Hour 8 Update with tip for existing customers: leave. But if you can't and you need someone to answer the phone, call the New Customer line. That one they answer every time.

I scheduled maintenance of our heating unit because we were having issues with our hot water. I called back a week later to verify the expectation of our contract & to reiterate what we needed done. When they arrived today, they told my wife we need to call a plumber and left. The tech said he was not scheduled for a maintenance call. When I called to speak to the supervisor to see what was going on, she told me that they only checking the hot water and we'd have to be scheduled for sometime in the spring for maintenance.

There is no time for service calls so to people being without heat. My concern is if something happens to the heating unit and I didn't have my yearly maintenance, is it still covered? I could wait for the spring, but due to the lack of enthusiasm, I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

Honestly, what's the point of having a business if you're not planning on actually operating it in a way that brings a single ounce of value to the community its' intended to serve? After our dog got out after a delivery person left our gate open, I asked Slomin's if they could A. Give us a heads up when they're coming OR B. knock on the door when they get here because the gate to our backyard is obstructed so she can't get out (BIG ASK considering we've been Slomin's clients for years, are always home and our backyard gate is literally right next to our front door).

They called me last night to tell me they were coming at some point today, so I reminded them of our previous conversation and said "great! we'll be home all day - just knock on the door and I'll unlock the gate." They told me that they can't knock on the door, but will call when they're on the way. No problem. Totally works. Today, as I'm logging onto a meeting for work, I hear Slomin's busting into my backyard. Luckily my dog was inside.

They left our gate wide open and went on their way. I called just to let them know that no one called (as I was told they would) and they left the gate open. I was then laughed at by a customer "service" rep for such an out-of-left-field ask, put on hold mid-sentence and then laughed at again. You know what's so funny? I was pricing out other oil companies while I was on that interrupted hold and will be firing them as soon as our new contract is signed. Great job, Slomin's. Keep up the amazing work.

Absolute worst service possible. Call for a no heat issue take some almost 24 hours for them to show up with no heat. Manager was not accommodating at all name was Eric. Technicians were great management horrible. Will be canceling contract

Be careful when you move into a new home with an old system they will not mention they are singing you up for a long term contract they only mention the monthly charge. Not a single rep said it was a contract. Their service is garbage and they are purposely tricking people into agreements they would otherwise NEVER agree to. Scam company.

Sick of them ripping me off. It's honestly my fault for letting it happen twice, but this will be the last time. I'm going into my THIRD co tract with them. They assured me even though I am an existing customer they would give me the best price both last year and this year. Last year they gave my Aunt.20 cents cheaper than I got 2 weeks after I signed up. This year they gave 3.29 ceiling last week and my neighbor just got 3.19 and my friend just got 3.09. Super infuriating. No loyalty for long term customers.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. I recently switch from a small local fuel oil company to Slomin's due to terrible communication when it comes to deliveries. The sales rep from Slomin's came to my house and told my wife and myself that they would both email and call a few days prior to the delivery to confirm. I received a call at 6:40pm tonight by Slomin's wanting to deliver fuel oil tomorrow.

Due to my job I will be unable to unlock the gate to allow the fuel oil delivery to happen, hence the need for the advanced notice. I explained this to the customer service representative and was told that they can't do both email and call or give any notice due to the fact the route is setup at 5pm the night prior to when they want to deliver the fuel oil.

It's only the second delivery I will be getting from Slomin's and already there is an easily avoidable issue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to sign the contract.

Beware of slomins. Somehow I signed up for paperless billing and didn't know it. Service contract was billed that way and I didn't know it was due. They put oil delivery on hold without me knowing and oil tank went dry. All for $189 that I didn't know was due. No they want to stick me with a $250 bill plus oil delivery. Horrible way to treat customer that paid for their oil deliveries on time in full.

Now I have no hot water or heat until they delivery oil in 5 days or i have to have emergency service call which they wont schedule. It needs to be done as emergency service. CERTAINLY WILL BE LAST YEAR WITH SLOMINS

STAY AWAY! Do not hire this company FOR ANYTHING. Both their oil service and their alarm service is horrible. No one knows what they are doing in this company. The very first day I set my alarm it went off, I received the phone call from them, but what did they do.they called the police and sent them to my house anyway, despite the fact that they were talking to me and knew everything was ok.

Their alarm contracts are also five years, which they don't tell you and it is longer than any other contract with other security companies. I was concerned about that because I knew I would not be staying in my house for an additional five years, but the salesman said, no problem, you can cancel it at anytime. LIAR! As far as oil. I had to cancel my contract because I was moving, they charged me $500 to cancel the contract, which is about four times the amount of money that I would have spent with them on oil until the contract expired.

Then what did they do, some how, some way, they created a second oil account for me. I paid the invoice, but due to the second account, they did not credit the correct account and they keep sending me invoices telling me I've been sent to collections, despite the fact that someone there is who told me they inadvertently opened a second account, that they received my payment but applied it to the wrong account.

They swore up and down and sideways that they would call me back after they straightened it out. that was three weeks ago, and yet today I received another letter telling me my bill is past due and that I need to contact the collections department. WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING?

This is absolutely insane. We stayed in Slomin for 16 years. They always send the annual bill early. But when you ask for mechanical support take 3-4 weeks to come. Every time I call, the whole company's managers always either on vacation/no in the office. Manager Natalie/Alice/Brandon/Eric always not in the office. What are the odd of all managers taking the same day off! When you send email and no one reply. When you call them, no one could help or no manager could give you a confirm answer.

Today we had our boiler cleaned. A wonderful service experience. It was fast and explained exactly what needed to be done. He cleaned two filters, and stated we are ready for winter. We are also happy with our oil delivery, Many good years with Solomon. Yes

Stay far away! I had Solman's for 7 years in my home in PA. We moved to SC because of job relocation and attempted to discontinue service because there is NO Solman's in SC. We signed up with another company who divides the equipment which is financed $700 and a separate payment for service. Works great! When I discontinued my contract with Solman's after 7 years at $50 a month they said I needed to send them $950.00 which I refused to pay and not one person with Showman's could explain to me what it was for other then you, signed a contract.

I have had to letters since that time (6months) and it went from $950 to $2400 and today Aug 5th 2021 $3700 which is now laughable. Stay far away unless you want to be locked into a contract for life. Its now cheaper to get an attorney which I have done.

I had a terrible experience with their company. I suggest everyone to read this review before entering a contract with Slomin's. They filled up my tank in the middle to ending of June. Why I'm not sure who fills tanks in summer. I was charged a higher rate than the rate I usually pay. About $2 higher per gallon. I called Slomins to inquire. Horrible customer service by the way and spoke with a manager.

I was informed my contract was expired and they filled my tank in June! because it needed to be filled. No one uses oil in the summer. They did absolutely nothing to try to reimburse me my money. I'm addition they tried to bribe me and say if I signed another contract with them they would lower my rate.50 cent. I asked them do they send a reminder of the contract being expired.

They said no they have thousands of customers and don't have time for that. In addition they stated that it wasn't their responsibility since I signed the contract. No integrity and alot of distrust in this company. Highly disappointed.

Our old company ADT wanted to charge $150 (we had been clients for 20+years) to change out the alarm system to work on cellular data. Also they gave us a complete run around we had to keep calling them back to schedule the upgrade, finally gave up and called around. Slomin's came in said minor upgrade to existing system was all that was needed, no replacement required at all. Slomin's Sales rep, Oscar incredibly responsive.

Engineer that did installation very professional and effective. No charge for system upgrade or doorbell camera install either. And bonus, the monitoring services less expensive than ADT (and that includes doorbell cam recording to cloud!). Still 100% responsive @ 3 months of using their service now. Thank you Slomin's!

I cannot say enough bad things about the alarm part of this company. We installed the slomins alarm system in our newly constructed home in 2018. I signed the contract and the alarm was great for about one year. As soon as the one year warranty expired things started to go bad. I have had service people in week after week for the same problem. THey "fix" it and then the same thing goes wrong again.

And the worst part is it is always a 1-2 week wait to get the repair person out to the house, so the alarm is basically not functioning well during that whole time. I cant cancel my service because the ridiculous contract is FIVE years long. DO NOT get stuck in this awful contract with worse service.

I especially like the boiler warranty service. I have the peace of mind knowing that if anything goes wrong with my heating system they are just a phone call away. I also have the assurance just in case oil prices go up I'm already locked in at a reasonable rate. I can call them 24/7 and they will send a technician to my home; usually within a few hours.

Please please do not sign a contract with them. Pleaseee they schedule a tune up for my parents home 4 months in advance. Finally came did the job and at night (14 degrees) my parents 2 elders and a dog were felt with no heat. When I called to have someone come in they told me they can't have anyone come out bc they had too much work. The best they could do was next day!

I asked what should I do or if they pay for hotels the manager said no we don't. I asked if in good conscience he felt this was ok at any level he said. "We are not denying you the service we are just not going there tonight". please do not hire them
