At Clay's Climate Control the sales Rep Matt was very easy to talk to, and made it understandable as to what my options were. The crew I had were outstanding. They were punctual, courteous, and made a hard job look easy. They cleaned up the whole area, including vacuuming the attic when done. I wouldn't use another company going forward. I would give them more then 5 stars if possible. Choose this company, and you will be glad you did so. Todd Thomas

I can't say enough about Clay's technicians and office personnel, all of them are professional, knowledgeable, efficient & timely. JP just completed our maintenance and he did a great job! He explained in detail our needs and options regarding our aging unit. It's truly a breath of fresh air (no pun intended) to have Clay's Climate Control team service our HVAC needs. I will continue to refer them to my friends, family and neighbors.

Matt was on time, very knowledgeable, mentioned that my water heater is about 20 years old and gave me an estimate on the price when it needed to be replaced. He serviced my a/c system and also installed the air quality UV system. He mentioned that very soon Clay's will be servicing the Generac generator too. They are a full-service company. I highly recommend them.

The two guys from Clays were great. They showed up on time both days and worked so hard, first removing, then completely replacing our heater, AC unit, air filter and smart thermostat. Original estimate was for 3 days and they finished it in 2 days. They even got the new heater installed on the first day so we wouldn't be without heat. They brought in a 3rd person at the end to check everything out and teach us how to use the thermostat.

George and Brian provided excellent service in repairing our ancient furnace/boiler and helping us understand the workings of the heating system in our newly purchased home. George took the time to discuss all of the options with us and got us up and running in record time. Both George and Brian were courteous and professional and went above and beyond.
We are confident that we are in good hands with Clay's! Update -we decided to go ahead with a new combi boiler/on demand water system through Clay's. Fantastic experience again! Joe, Shane, and Tony were always on time, always careful of our property, always respectful, took the time to explain everything to us, and we love our new heating system! I can't recommend Clay's highly enough. Out of five stars they are a ten!

Sid did a terrific job addressing my needs and solving problems. A simple thermostat replacement turned challenging due to poor wring in my house. Sid was patient and positive and eventually and successfully completed the job. The price was very reasonable, the communication was excellent, they were on time, clean, and professional. Highly recommend Clays and specifically Sid!

Clay's Climate Control is the best! Everyone is very professional, competent, friendly, and dependable. Matt, who did the system proposal, was very thorough and explained everything. CJ and Colin, the installers, arrived on time and were very efficient and friendly. There was a problem with the fan and I had to call their 24 hour service. They answered right away and got someone to my house in 20 minutes. Jacob, the tech, tried every possible solution, but the motor had to be replaced. Jacob was very thorough and made sure I had space heaters for the night.
First thing the next morning Lynnette called to tell me a tech would be at my house between 9 and 12 with a new motor. Garrett, the tech arrived by 11 and finished in no time. He made was very thorough and made sure everything was working. I can't say enough about Clay's. I am so thankful I have them as my heater and AC service company. I highly recommend them.

We recently hired Clays to install our new AC and Heater and it was a great experience from the very start. The entire team was professional and worked really hard to get the new system up and running. The initial visit found our AC to be not working and they delivered portable coolers within minutes to cool the house down. Matt in sales did an excellent job of providing options and was patient to respond to our questions. Eddie and Anthony were a great team of installers. very neat and great to work with. We highly recommend Clays for their excellent service and look forward to continued quality with their maintenance program.

Had an emergency leak at our new home called a referral competitor who couldn't come out for 5 days. Noticed previous owners used Clay's Climate Control and gave me two options to arrive. The woman scheduling was delightful and so helpful! Jacob the technician was friendly, efficient, polite and knew his stuff even running to local hardware store to pick up a needed part for the fix! He shared details of their maintenance program that we will definitely be signing up for! Great job and much appreciation Clay's Climate Control!

I was not able to be at my summer home in Brigantine when the technician was scheduled. I was reassured by the office staff that I could leave the key in a designated spot and they would keep it for future use. On the day of the appointment Anthony called to let me know he was at my house. He later called me to let me know what he did and what he recommended for the overall condition of my HVAC system.
I would strongly recommend Clay's Climate Control to anyone who is looking for professional service by knowledgeable staff that can meet all heating and cooling needs. Thank you!

John DeJesse was most knowledgeable as he responded to the call to have the heating fixed at our home. Very straight forward with the pricing and estimates and ensured completion of repair and resolution of problems. Would recommend to anyone who needs immediate response to heating and air conditioning issues. He also understood the requirements of the new Google Nest set up with a early 2000s high efficiency central heater and air conditioning system. Experience and reliability all in the same package.

We have used Clay's to install our HVAC and tankless hot water heater as well as for annual maintenance of the systems. They do excellent work. Today John D and JP performed annual maintenance on the heater and hot water heater. They were punctual, courteous and professional-a pleasure to have in my home. Clay's is a quality organization with excellent employees.

Our technician arrived on time, was courteous and professional. He explained what service he was going to perform and how long it would take. We had our ductless mini split air conditioners cleaned and a service on our hot water baseboard system. He was extremely thorough and completed all of the device work in the estimated time. Highly recommend Clay's Climate control.

I was not able to be present during service but they kept me informed the entire time. I asked if they could look at something else while they were there. They did it for me and discussed their findings and recommendations right away. An estimate came quickly and the job was scheduled easily. They are very professional and easy to work with.

HORRIBLE.Tech installed wires for heater wrong.heat kept going off. I froze the entire polar vortex at 62 degrees in my house. I called them to fix it.their excuse was that it was my housr.tech never knowing that he had the wires installed wrong.called another company and they told me about the wires being screwed up.had Climate Control take out their thermostat and got the new company to install a new thermostat because they knew what Climate CoNtrol had done wrong. Worst winter ever.spent all my time calling them to fix it and they for some reason have techs that do not have a clue what they are doing.!

UPDATE: I'll strive to be as fair and honest in this review as I possibly can about the pros and cons of Clay's Climate Control. C3 is certainly not the a perfect company, nor are they the cheapest, but they do strive for customer satisfaction and long-term reputation. It's easy for contractors to underbid each other to win contracts, but the quality of the product you are getting can vary greatly.
More than any brand HVAC equipment you choose (Trane, Carrier, etc) the contractor you choose to install your equipment matters far more. And the difference between a low bidder without the qualifications/experience and a well-qualified bidder with high-level skills and experience may not be apparent for 3-5 years or even longer. You want this stuff to last 15-20 years or at least 10 at the bare minimum.
I reached out to Clay's to provide a quote for 2 HVACs (upstairs/downstairs). Their bid was by far the most expensive and we negotiated somewhere in the middle, however, Clay's bid to remove the old R22 lineset (line that carries refrigerant from outside to inside) and replace it with a true R410A lineset. Many contractors will simply evacuate your R-22 lineset, do a triple flush, and then use it with the new 410A.
This works in some cases, but not in others and is less than ideal. My experience in the military has taught me to be wary of the lowest bidder and seek to compares apples to apples when looking at quotes. They also agreed to install a whole house humidifier in our upstairs). As this review is an update of the original review of Clay's, there were a few things that we weren't too happy with, but the one thing quite frankly enraged me was well after the job was finished and the bill was closed out, a Clay's salesman nonchalantly texted me that they were going to charge me an extra $500 for having to cut a hole in my wall to remove the old lineset.
I was livid that this charge was never discussed prior to that point and we had no say in the matter. Clay's later said they would drop the charge, but the damage was already done and I was still angry about the whole thing. They reached out via phone, text, and email several times trying to make things right. What brought me back around was that they acknowledged they had an internal communications issue and informed me that they've changed their policy to always inform customers before performing any work that would require additional charges.
This is the right thing to do. They also hired a painter to fix an issue we had with our wall as after the hole was cut they promised we wouldn't notice, but it was VERY noticeable. It's in a corner, but still, my wife wasn't happy about it. They're truly going the extra mile to fix it. In my initial review, I had left out some things that are very strong reasons for Clay's. First, they have NATE certified technicians. There's lots of various HVAC certifications out there, but this one is important. Second, they install Trane with a 2-year parts and labor warranty. It's not necessarily that Trane or Carrier are better (replacement parts are usually much more expensive) than other brands like Goodman, it's just that these companies are much pickier about which HVAC contractors they allow to install their equipment and in the long run this is a good strategy to build their brand. I'm not saying contractors that install Goodman and similar brands are going to do a hack job, but anyone can install a Goodman so of course there's going to be more Goodman hack jobs out there. Also, the standard is 1-year parts and labor warranty.
A contractor that bids a 2-year parts and labor warranty is confident their install will last. Lastly, the install team was very friendly and a pleasure to interact with and have in our house. Finally, had I gone with a different contractor and kept the original lineset, I may have wound up with an upstairs just as hot as the with our old system (80 deg in summer).
This is because the lineset going upstairs had a kink in it and was inefficient, hence why they had to cut a hole in my wall to remove it. At best, a different contractor would've identified the problem after adding the refrigerant and testing it and would've had to replace that lineset anyway. As a summary: Pro's: -Focus on customer satisfaction -Great Certifications -Solid Installation Con's -More expensive than competitors (but you're paying for experience/certifications and possibly extras, look closely when comparing contracts) -Somewhat pushy tactics to up-sell customers -Lack of communication with customer regarding additional charges - hopefully fixed for the future I'll keep this review updated if anything changes regarding Clay's or the equipment, but I'm confident it will last.
