Unless you are both a licensed & experienced Electrician and Master Plumber, Kohler strongly recommends that you choose a local KOHLER Generators dealer like Princeton Air to install your generator. Code requirements for installing standby generator systems vary nationwide. That's why Kohler recommends having a factory-authorized dealer like Princeton Air install your system, since they are familiar with both local and national codes & can (almost always) avoid code issues with local inspectors.Generators ship from the factory without batteries to ensure that the freshest possible battery is installed at the job site, and some contractors will make the battery an additional purchase option.

Great team and great work. Princeton Air is a high quality company with high quality employees. They always are very professional and helpful with any questions or concerns. Aaron did such a good job for myself and my brother, I had to call his boss to make sure they knew they had a real major leaguer. Highly recommend. Seasonal A/C checkout. Tech arrived on time - with an email and text 20 min before. Arrived masked and put on shoe booties. Checked system inside and outside. Then hosed the coils clean. Very polite, professional and answered my questions in detail. Princeton Air installed the system and has maintained it since installed. Very happy with this company

Maintenance appointment resulted in my AC unit broken. My AC worked yesterday. Princeton Air offered to set up sales appointment for the unit replacement. Of course that's an expensive way to fix the problem. This is not what I would expect from the maintenance appointment. After calling the office, I was offered to have my call transferred to someone who can schedule another technician coming to take a look for a repair fee. All I could do was leave a voice mail. No one from the technical team was available to talk to me.

When we first contacted Princeton air 5 years ago we had great techs, who were courteous and professional. One of those guys is in management and the other is no longer with the company. The technician they have sent the past two times for our geothermal unit has been less than satisfactory. This time Marty came checked the unit and there were problems.
Instead of waiting around to give me the information I needed about the unit he left. I had to find out what was wrong with the unit by reading the emails with the invoices. That shouldn't be the way it is especially with the issues that are involved with our unit. If we continue to have Marty service our unit we will no longer be using a Princeton Air

As a 22 year customer with Princeton Air, I was always satisfied with their maintenance of my units. They have also installed my furnace as well as my AC unit. Every year, they would send out notices in the summer to schedule the furnace check and in the later winter to schedule the AC check. As a 22 year customer, I can tell you that the notices were originally postcards but in more recent years, it was an email notice.
In Spring 2021, I realized that I had not received a notice so I called to schedule. I was informed that the soonest it could be done was July 30th! This year again, the FAILED to send notification. I called on May 6th and was informed that the first available was August 18th! SERIOUSLY? THE AC SEASON IS ALMOST OVER BY THEN! When I asked why I never received any notification, the woman informed me extremely nastily that it was the client's responsibility to remember!
I am paying for a contract and it is truly a waste of time to get my AC unit checked in August! My contract is up in July. I will start interviewing replacements since Princeton Air doesn't care about long standing customers!

We recently purchased a new furnace and A/C unit. We received quotes from 5 local HVAC dealers, we decided to go with the Princeton Air. Their salesperson/ comfort advisor (Dan Goldstein) was the most professional, most knowledgeable, and provided the most detailed quote with pages of info documenting the equipment and the installation process and what would be covered.
The price was very comparable with other dealers but for much higher quality /efficient unit (Trane). Installation went great and we saw quite a savings in our heating bills over the winter. Princeton Air is very professional, we had a complimentary service of our unit yesterday, the HVAC tech sent us emails and texts to remind us of our appointment along with his picture for our security. He was very instructive on how best to maintain our HVAC system. I would highly recommend Princeton Air for purchase or service of a HVAC system.

Excellent service from Princeton Air's Justin. He was personable and very professional, testing the system carefully. He identified the issues with our A/C that another company had missed completely; that one had recommended complete replacement of the system. But Justin found issues that were simple to fix and got the system running well.all at about 1/15th of the price that was previously recommended by another company. Highly recommended!

Justin was the best technician to have visited our house. Extremely proficient and professional, but what sets him head and shoulders above others was his friendly and open way of explaining the system. I never felt like I was bothering with my beginner level questions and 10 minutes with Justin was much more helpful than hours of "Youtube-University" learning about heater systems and their troubleshooting and maintenance. Looking forward to learning the ins and outs of air conditioner maintenance in the spring with Justin. Thanks!

At about 7 P.M. on Saturday, January 22nd, (2022) we noticed that the heating in our home in Princeton Junction, New Jersey was totally off. This was very unexpected since our system had been running smoothly and a technician from Princeton Air had examined the system as part of a routine "check-up" 3 days earlier. "No problems, " he reported. My wife called Princeton Air on Sunday morning around 8 and got someone from the company's answering service.
They assured my wife that they'd let officials at Princeton Air know about the heating problem in our home. No response from Princeton Air. My wife called again around 10:30 A.M. Same response from the answering service, same non-response from Princeton Air. In fact, we never got a call back all-day Sunday. The temperature outside on both Saturday night and Sunday was mainly in the 20s and low 30s and the temperature in our home plummeted to about 50 degrees.
I'm a recent cardiac arrest survivor and this whole thing was very difficult for me. I called Princeton Air on Monday morning and a technician arrived at our home around 3 P.M. and replaced a ($500) part within our heating system. He said that the part wasn't broken when the first technician came earlier that week. Coincidences are possible, I guess.
The Princeton Air web page advertises a "We Will Be There Guarantee" as well as "24 Hr Emergency Service." Neither of these claims appear to be valid. We will cancel our contract with Princeton Air later this week and caution other customers or potential customers about the company's false claims.

William D. performed our annual heating unit service; he was punctual, professional and thorough in the scheduled maintenance. He also gave a detailed explanation of the service, items to plain for and great recommendations on how to positively maintain our systems. Excellent service and would highly recommend!

The technician Will was very courteous and prompt. He answered all my questions and walked me through exactly what he was doing. He gave me no-nonsense answers and afterward I felt more confident about the heater being able serve us during the winter months. I did not check the "Good quality" item because Princeton Air is expensive and sometimes defaults to expensive part replacement instead of simpler repairs, but that was not the case with this visit.

I had a dispute regarding what I would be charged based on a promotion I was sent. The technician was extremely professional and did the best he could to resolve the issue, and got someone named Jackie on the phone. Jackie proceeded to play a clip of me agreeing to a "promotional price" which I thought was no cost unless more work needed to be done.
The main issue is because the technician was late, I was pressed against an important meeting that if I were to be late without notice, would have implications against me and the responsibilities of my job. With just a minute I had left, I wanted the technician to leave so I could call Princeton Air after to discuss what I agreed to and should have been charged, but Jackie said that they were COD, so if he left they would immediately take action and send collections, which of course impacts my personal credit score and can cost me more money, even though what I wanted was to call an hour later so we can discuss it.
It may end up being that I misunderstood the promotion, and if that is the case I would have been happy to pay the full payment due, but to force me to pay upon threat of "action" without any time for me to decide and my back against a wall is so horribly unethical, and the kind of stuff AJ Perri and other slimy companies do to make money in a deceitful way.

There is on alert on my heating system and the Princeton Air technician was more worried on leaving soon to go to the next job than on fixing my problem. He blamed the problem on the gas pressure and he did not fix the problem. A PSEG technician came and there is no problem on my house gas pressure. The problem is on the furnace. Can Princeton Air send a technician that has knowledge on how to fix furnaces?

Their main business model is charging lot of fee for nothing. Technician came to my home, he looked for 10 mins and said he could not figure out my system. He then insisted on paying fee of 90$ for coming over. He also trying to sell me another fee service of 365$ to figure out system. Isn't that the current visit for, why are you charging me 90$ fee now then? I had to pay him 90$ for nothing. Technicians are incompetent and being incompetent is very lucrative for them for fee payments.

We had a sudden failure of our whole-house AC compressor Friday evening, which we didn't discover till Saturday morning. The 3-month-old system was under warranty, but the installer couldn't provide any assistance until Monday afternoon. Because we still have a maintenance contract with Princeton Air, we called them next. They were able to provide a technician within a few hours who not only diagnosed the problem (wiring short circuit), but was able to repair (rewire) it as well, within 30 minutes. We had to pay for the visit & repair work, but the AC is working again during the hottest, most humid summer in the 30 years we have lived here!

Called them to get my Lennox heat pump system repaired a few months ago, and bought a service contract. Returned from a week away to find the compressor running, but the air handler not working on a Saturday morning. Their web site has a banner for emergency service which offers a number and tells you to pick the answering service. Calling that number just routes you to the main voicemail, which has no option for the answering service.
I got a voicemail message from someone giving another number. Tried that for several hours -- no answer, and a full mailbox so couldn't leave a message. Finally reached a breathing human about 3 PM -- who told me to call back the next day, because the on-call tech would be different! Could they just have the new on-call tech contact me? Apparently not.
Two more calls today have gone to voicemail with no result so far. On the plus side, if you can ever get someone to come out, the one technician I met previously seemed highly competent. But so-called emergency service is a pretty poor joke. And oh by the way -- after I typed this, I went looking and found Fras Heating and Air in Hillsborough. They had somebody here within the hour, replaced the fan motor capacitor, and I was good to go. Yay Chad!

Placed a call to Princeton Air for service on my residential central air conditioning system that they had installed a few years ago which was still under warranty. Despite this being a very busy time in the season they had a tech (Alberto) here in a few hours on the same day who quickly diagnosed the issue as a failed capacitor, replaced it, and got my system up and running again. High marks for responsiveness, work quality, and quick problem resolution. Much appreciated.

I called them out to fix my heat pump which wasn't working properly in the winter. I had used them once before without issue. The unit was running but the temperature in the house didn't go above 50 degrees. The technician said this was normal and nothing was wrong (even though I lived there for more than 5 years and never had this problem). Charged me a service fee and left. Called again a few weeks later because it still was running without heating and I was tired of space heaters. Said the unit was fine (again) and charged me another service fee.
I partly blame myself for the second fee because I assumed a reputable company would not charge another service fee for the same problem that was not repaired. I had a different company come out and they diagnosed and repaired the issue within 20 minutes. Their technicians are not trained properly- they should have been able to properly fix the unit. And they refused to refund my service fee(s).

Persuasive Salesmanship, Mediocre Quality of Work and Terrible Customer Service: We bought an expensive Trane A/C system from Princeton Air five years ago. The A/C was not cooling adequately from day one. Princeton Air repaired it three times under the manufacturer warranty, but the A/C still not cooling. When it is 90 degrees outside it wouldn't go below 82 inside.
In contrast to their well spoken sales person promise of top service from a "family owned business", their support has been nothing but a disappointment, including their head of support (Mr. Dave Wessels). We still don't know why the A/C wouldn't cool. Could be that the A/C was not sized properly by Princeton Air or a different issue. Two years ago we replaced the A/C in another zone (we have two zones) through Costco and our experience was great. Maybe with a name like Princeton Air, they can afford charging premium and provide subpar service?

Recently had an issue with my furnace, which had started making a sound like a train coming in. Called Princeton Air, who had a technician (Aaron, who also looked at my cooling system when I moved in) come out in 1 day. He let me know the issue was my inducer, and he lubed it up and gave me a quote for a new inducer. He said the inducer could last through the season, or it might break soon.
He also told me to add some WD-40 (which he didn't have handy) and that it might help prevent an issue. Week and a half later, the inducer broke and I had no heat. Erin in the office helped coordinate sourcing the replacement, which was delivered in less than 24 hours, and Aaron and Francis (another technician) were on-site by 8 a.m. the next morning to make the replacement and confirm operation.
Its tough to beat that level of response, it was Amazon-like. Just wanted to give a shout to Aaron, Francis and Erin, all who provided exceptional customer service through out this issue. They also helped me sign-up for the yearly service plan with Princeton Air, which I originally thought was a bit expensive, but gave me 15% off the inducer and the original visit from before I had signed-up.

After having three different contractors in my home to re-route my dryer vent to no avail. I called Princeton Air. They have been doing our HVAC maintenance for a number of years. While this project was not in their typical "wheelhouse" they immediately sent someone to estimate the work. It got tricky when my HOA had to advised of a change to my roofline.
I was back and forth with the OP's dept at Princeton Air several times. They provided me everything I needed from photos to schematics for review by HOA. The work was done shortly there after by an outstanding fellows who arrived with masks, booties and laid drop cloths throughout the path to the vent. I could not be happier or more grateful. Another HVAC company would have turned down this "small job" Princeton Air came through at every turn!

Had a usual PM done by Aaron Lake. He did an excellent job and explained things about our HVAC system so I understood it. He did quality work. Came back next day to install an Air Scrubber system that I requested. Again did a very through job. Princeton Air has quality techs working for them. We recommend them.

The problem we had with our furnace was a real puzzle. The Princeton Air techs persevered and ultimately determined that our furnace was overheating and a safety switch was shutting it down. They discovered that the pressure in our natural gas line was too high and that we were using filters that were too dense, both of which caused too much heat to build up inside the furnace. Jake, Aaron and Luke were a pleasure to work with and we're now toasty warm again.

Princeton Air replaced my entire HVAC system many years ago and has provided stellar service every step of the way since - and even fought for replacing a major component (at no charge) within a few weeks of the warranty expiring. Honestly, the initial cost of the system nearly stroked me out back in the day but they've spared me many similar shocks since with consistently excellent service. Very highly recommended.

One thing I can say about Princeton Air is that they are very professional and reliable but there is a cost attached to it. My HVAC was blowing hot air and I called to make appointment. Booking process was very smooth, I got notifications of when the technician was coming, and the technicians who arrived were very courteous. They told me they had to replace the capacitor.
I am not a very handy person but after spending a sweaty night in the heat, I had googled enough to know that if you order it online the cost of my units capacitor is between 15 - 30$. So when I was quoted $225 plus taxes for the capacitor replacement, I was shocked at the markup. This is over and above the $100 I paid them to just come over for doing diagnostics. Called the office and they insisted that this was the price. If paying 1500% markup does not bother you than Princeton Air is not bad to deal with.

Called Princeton Air to come service our A/C since it was not cooling above the garage. It wasn't urgent but they still were able to come within a couple of days. My tech, Aaron, was on-time and very courteous throughout the service call. As I am always curious on how things work and want to know as much as possible to be able to make an informed decision, Aaron picked-up on that quickly and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Aaron clearly knew what he was doing and was pleasant to work with, I would recommend him (and Princeton Air) to our friends.

Our air conditioning stopped working in the middle of an intense heat wave. I was impressed by the professionalism of the administrative staff and by how quickly they were able to have a technician come out (next day). Will D. was our technician. He was very professional and took time to explain what was wrong and how the system should be working.
He answered all of my questions and had the system back up and running within an hour of arriving. I was very satisfied and would recommend Princeton Air and Will D. specifically!

Princeton Air Conditioning Tech Care to my House on time to do a preventive maintenance on my two zone A/C units. Alberto was very courteous and knowledgeable and spent almost 90 minutes to do PM on my two AC units. After testing and performing PM he explained to me what was done and provided a written report on both units. I would continue to do business with Princeton Air.

I bought a condominium the last month after moving to the area this year for work. The HVAC system was extremely worn, the heater was barely working at the start of the month. I knew I needed to replace it before the weather actually turned and I'm so happy I found Princeton Air. The office staff was really friendly and straightforward. The pricing wasn't insane, a little higher, but worth it for the knowledge, convince, and warranty on the work and system. The technicians were helpful and efficient, loved that they cleaned up after themselves. I just loved that they made it so simple and easy!

I contracted Princeton Air to remove and replace my entire HVAC system including a power vent water heater. The salesman Jim promised that the job would be complete in 3 days. The install went smooth and was completed in 3 days although I had to pitch a fit because they scheduled the boiler and furnace to be removed a week later after promising 3 days total.
The system is fantastic. The quilt of work was terrible. The crew left my house and yard in a mess. They left a live water line among the copper baseboard heat line that the knew I was going to cut out. They cut and capped water and gas lines to the water heater but capped them with a 90 and 6 inches of pipe hanging down instead of capping them above the ceiling tiles.
They didn't use sheet metal screws on the flue cap so it blew into my neighbors yard. The flue and air conditioner were not leveled. The flue in the attic needed to be secured better by the repair crew on the 3rd visit to fix the sloppy work. Total hack work with zero attention to details. Did I mention that I paid cash? 3 times they returned.
I cleaned up the insulation, debris, screws, wire, cardboard. The salesman said I would be compensated for my time.yeah he never got back to me. Great system, hacky work with zero attention to details. There are better HVAC companies out there. I suggest you use them

I recently scheduled a maintenance visit for my furnace and had the pleasure of working with Aaron Lake. Not only was he on time and polite but he showed a general interest in helping me as a client. I had an issue with replacing my furnace air filter and thanks to Aaron and his ingenuity we were able to replace the filter in no time. He was extremely personable and even took a few minutes to greet my dog who was in the house during the visit. I would definitely recommend Princeton Air and hope everyone gets Aaron on their next visit!

I reached out to Princeton Air because I'm having issues with the compressor in the heat pump for my condo in Plainsboro. I've already had the original installer from Service Today come out as well as paid a technician from Conway to come out to inspect the issue and they both said that the compressor for the heat pump needs to be replaced.
However Service Today has become unresponsive for 2 months since realizing that they need to replace it under warranty and Conway quoted me $1300 just for labor which seems really high to me for replacing a part under warranty. So I reached out to Princeton Air asking if they can give me a ballpark idea on how much it would cost to just replace a compressor.
I spoke to both Devon and the Service Manager Dave. They said that it was against their policy to give any pricing information over the phone even though I told them that I understand that such pricing may be subject to change if they find other issues upon their own inspection. Instead, they required that I pay another $95 to have them send a technician out so that I could talk to them.
That is ridiculous. They can't even be bothered to have an honest conversation to earn a customer. Just another example of a company out to trap customers by charging $95 just to speak to someone who could give just an IDEA of how much it MIGHT cost for repairs.
UPDATE: Princeton Air corrected the estimate. After I also sent the letter below directly to Princeton Air, a manager immediately called me and said the estimate was wrong. He gave me a reasonable estimate for just the labor to install the replacement part. I am satisfied with the resolution, and now the furnace is working. To any readers, please be sure to understand the items charged in any estimates.
Although the incident does make me cautious about Princeton Air, I think they handled the problem professionally, and I will call them again for repairs. Upgrading to 4 stars.

Will D was very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and explained options and potential solutions thoroughly. In addition to fixing our original issue, he diagnosed another unforeseen issue. He also explained the benefits of signing up for membership. Would recommend him and Princeton Air to others.

Exceptional service - showed up on time and got the job done right! I've been having issues with my heating unit at home and we've been getting very cold last winter. I gave Princeton Air Conditioning Inc a call and they showed up, got the job done, and my home was heated once again! I've had no issues and can only say good things. Thank you Princeton Air Conditioning Inc!

Very disappointed. Made an appointment to install a Nest thermostat and was given a four-hour window for their arrival. They were a no show during that timeframe and did not call me to let me know what was up. I had to call them first, and they said the technician was held up at another job and would be there in 20 minutes. He arrived 40 minutes later.
The one positive part of the experience was that the technician explained to me how my system was multi-zoned and how the zoning functionality worked. This was the key bit of information I was missing when I had tried to install the Nest myself. He also pointed out some issues with the current setup, so now I have a better idea on how to improve my system in the future.
But he also told me that the Nest would not work with the multi-zone setup - which turns out to not be true. Maybe he meant to say that one Nest unit would not be able to control all the zones at the same time, so I asked if it was possible to have the Nest control just one zone and the older thermostats control the others. But he still told me no on all counts and suggested I replace the system with a more expensive wifi-enabled system for multi-zone setups.
After he left, I attempted to install the Nest myself for my primary zone and I was successful. I would not have been able to do this without his explanation of my system, but everything else he told me was completely wrong. I did not appreciate the no call / no show after waiting for four hours, and the amount of upselling also got to me. I do not recommend and I will be seeking my business elsewhere in the future.
