If I can give them a negative score I would. Our kitchen drain was clogged and we knew it needed to be snaked because we had it done before. Called on Sunday and they put us on Monday's schedule between noon and 6 pm. My husband called around noon to confirm and they indicated they'll be there around 4pm. It was 4:45 pm and no one showed up. Called customer service and they said they called the house phone to reschedule.

My husband said no one called because the phone never rang and no message. They said called cell- again no calls or messages so someone isn't doing their job. We asked for an early appointment since Perri messed up. Best they could do is to put us on Tuesday between noon and 6 pm Asked to speak to a manager but they went home for the day. Unfortunately this isn't the first time we're experiencing this with A.J. Perri. We've been a longtime customer with a service contract for air/ heating with them and had scheduled appointments way in advance- only for them to cancel and then schedule after the season. They used to be reliable and good bust now?

The best! Great customer service and installation people who really know what they are doing. You never want to have that conversation about replacing your furnace but if you do call these guys!

Beware! Seems like they take advantage of the elderly! Ex: came out for a leaky pipe, said the job was much bigger at the tune of 1700$ then after some discussion said he would do it for 1000$ hmmm 700$ discount! Curious to say the least! Thank goodness the lady didn't agree to this.called another plumber and the job was done for 150$ efficient and quickly! Just be careful!

Contacted the company to replace a broken pipe. I received two prior estimates of $150.00 to repair from differentcompanies. I wanted to get a third estimate. The service tech came and immediately I felt uneasy in his presence. After looking at the job he gave me an estimate of $900. I told him to get off my property and lose my information. I called back the prior company and the job was fixed that day for $150. Unfortunately, it didn't end there a week later I receive a bill from AJ Perri for$900.

The service tech claimed he completed the work at my property. I have video surveillance showing him leaving my home immediately after showing up. Then showing the new service company arriving and completing the work. They needed to be reported for attempting a criminal act.

We have a Lennox iComfort system which malfunctioned, A.J. Perri was print to respond and come with in 2 hrs of my call but their tech had no clue what was wrong with my HVAC. I paid them $130 for just showing up and the guy left without diagnosis. the def y he told me was also wrong. Arctic air diagnoses and fixed the issue in 10 mins Don't call them if you have a Lennox system they cannot help you. they respond fast but that seems to be their revenue model

Great service from technician. Very courteous, knowledgeable and respectful. This is not a review of the tech. Prices are astronomical. $339/ lb of R22 and $588 for sealant/ dye. Gouge you when you can't say no thanks. Will not use again.

My HVAC broke down and they send me a tech ASAP. Very friendly and just took him 15 mins to fix. He replaced the part (capacitor) which was worth $15 to $20 but he charged me $500 for it. I didn't know and told him to replace it. They charged me $190 which I was fine with

1100 square FT townhouse furnace went out came out same day great customer service but very expensive to repair my furnace board was out got other HVAC techs to diagnose had it fixed for 200 $ they quoted me 1425$ to replace parts that were not broken they diagnose fee of $126 to come out then I was quoted for a whole new unit 1/2 ton furnace 13, 775$ I also got other quotes on a whole new unit for 7,500$ installed it's unfortunate that this is what goes on I've been scam before I am sure I will not be the last time this is the world we live in lots of snakes and this time I did not get scammed

First of all, at the time my appt was made several weeks ago in mid-May, aj perri said no appt available for a couple of weeks until now. The scheduler told me the date but no time given. The day before the appt I had to call to find out the time, which was told by customer rep Matt to be 12 noon. Come the day of the appt and 12 noon come and gone, nothing, no call no text. Had to call them to find out it's between 12-6, which Matt failed to disclose.

Four hours later, the technician tom showed up. He was aggressive, rude and belligerent. He said if he kept diagnosing, it's going to be a different rate. He failed to show what that rate was and kept going. Afterwards, he went to grab a binder and put on the invoice $387.5 for HALF AN HOUR OF LABOR. You read it right, ALMOST EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS PER HOUR.

When asked to speak to the company aj perri directly, he started yelling and shouting so loudly that the neighbors can clearly hear the commotion. It was totally unprofessional and shocking. No idea as to why it was so offensive to him to speak to the company. He kept saying " you are going to get me fired" Why you would worry about that if you did not do anything shady?

How in the world this company even had 4 star review is beyond me. The experience was disastrous, humiliating and traumatizing with his cursing and shouting. If this review platform allows negative star for the review, that's what it deserved. He was asked if he had a shoe cover, if not, one can be provided for him. He put it on once, took it off. Came back to the house without any shoe cover thereafter multiple times. TOTAL DISRESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER'S HOME!

Came out for service, replaced 'dual capacitor 40/5' part ($20) and charged me $485. Took less than a minute to attach the leads and done. Watch out, they will scam you and ruin your day. Total deception, can't be trusted.

Called A.J Perri to recharge my system. They came to my house told me my AC unit had a bad fan and motor then explains that they can't recharge the system because it is too old. Then he goes it's going to be $126 for what? You didn't do anything.

I had called and asked for a estimate or a range in pricing for a standard hot water heater. I was told that the technician will come and there will be a charge of $123 (tax incl) for the visit which will be applied to the work. I expected the price to be slightly higher considering the inflation but the quote was ridiculous (approximately $2600 - $3600 plus after $250 deduction with a coupon for a 40 gallon).

So just because no one told me to expect the quote to be twice what other places are charging, I lost $123 for nothing. If I would have known that that was the average, i wouldn't have wasted my time. What a rip off.

They put my air conditioning in and now that I have to have the permit closed my air conditioner is failing. AJ Perri will not fix it, they won't hire electrician, Even though they installed it now they're telling me they don't have electricians. I would never recommend them in 1 million years. I had to hire an electrician which cost me money. I've been talking to quality assurance for a month now and you guys have not done anything.

This is the second time we have utilized a service by AJ PERRI. We were not disappointed, their air duct cleaning was remarkable. Technician Alejandro W was awesome. Arrived on time, explained the painless process, while being personable, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. I'd highly recommend them for their professionalism and great services they provide.

Biggest scam ever. They told my fiance that our pipes are busted and sent "the specialist" who told her we needed to replace everything. Turns out it was just some clogging. Specialist is just a salesman! STAY AWAY!

Called this company at 1pm on a Sunday because my bathtub was backing up with raw sewage. They told me someone would be here between 2-8. I called at 3 for an estimated time of arrival since we aren't able to use toilets or water. I was told he'd be here soon. At 5:30pm the guy calls me and says he can't get here today. 4 and half hours later after my initial call I was told this? Terrible business!

5 technicians later and over $14,000 dollars they have horrible service. Scam you into a new unit and no one really knows how to problem solve.

After hurricane Ida left our house with over a foot of water in the basement, our HVAC unit was destroyed (the bottom part of our HVAC heater was inundated with water and got into the blower/fried the wires). Our tech came within the time window and offered to replace the blower and give a new switchboard for the wires (cost within reason) but also offered a free quote for a new system since ours was 14 years old.

He helped schedule another tech which was there within an hour or so that night. Our second tech Robert was very responsive and professional and helped us decide what plan was best for us. We ended up financing our HVAC with a pretty fair price and we're so grateful that this could happen so quickly since it is summer and it has been hot lately. Installation was Saturday and everything went as smooth as it could have during a unprecedented storm. Our sincere thanks.

Well after several attempts I think they finally resolved my issues. They replaced the release valve that was leaking black water. Now it's just loud as all hell. They also changed the water feeder, the original they spec'd seemed to have been feed too much water to the system.

Its a worst company to work with. Please do not call them for any service else they will ripped you. Home deport advertising for 30 service so I signed up the tuning service for my AC unit which was working fine. Their technician came and checked everything and said everything is working fine, after that when we turned on the unit it stopped cooling.

I called them and they sent technician again then they said something is wrong and all and ended up asking for 375 some for repairs which was already working system. I am not sure how they are saying they back up their work 100%.

Horrible experience! Contacted business as a result of a clogged main drain. Was advised they could fix it and was given a 4 hour window. As that window came to a close, contacted business and was advised by customer service that plumber was wrapping up and would be here soon. Refused to provided a more precise time frame, became belligerent and treated the interaction as if I was to blame for their in ability to adhere to their own time frame.

Still kept appointment and waited another 45 minutes. Still no plumber. Called again and once more customer service was completely unhelpful. Went as far as suggesting rescheduling for the next day. We'd already been waiting nearly 5 hours for service from them. This place is completely unprofessional and certainly does not care about providing service. Would not waste time with this company.

I had an emergency. They cancelled my first appointment in the evening and said that I would be their first the next day. So I waited. ALL DAY. No technician arrived. 10 calls and each time they said a tech is on their way each time. So I waited. This is not how to run a business. I waisted almost two days with this nonsense. If I could give them negative stars I would. Waste of time.

They have a reputation of ripping people off for a reason. Highly suggest you look elsewhere for repairs. They were 2+ hours late, charged 4x market value for the parts they replaced.and the heater still didn't function. They claim to have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.and after charging me roughly $1,000 for parts that didn't solve the problem, they offered 15% back. Avoid at all costs.

So we called them replace and install a kitchen faucet that we had purchased on our own. The minimum service call seemed reasonable. The technician was professional, friendly, and on time. Once he checked out the job, he went to his truck to get pricing from the company. He returned with a quote of $681, which we politely declined (instead of shouting "you've got to be kidding").

My wife and I just decided to figure it out ourselves. Not complicated, but being inexperienced, it took us a little under 2 hrs. For an experienced professional, it could not have been more than a one-hour job. $681?! What a rip-off.

Do not use A.J.Perri.they will scam you and give you poor service and old parts. A plumber came to do a sump pump installation and didn't even have good tools to do the job! Had to lend him my tools just so he could finish the job. Also used old dirty PVC pipe that is an extreme eyesore to look at. They way overcharged me for a very shoddy looking job.

Very disappointed for making the decision to hire them. Regret it very much! Called the company to complain didnt mean anything they just blew it under the rug. They are a joke and should not be allowed to ever touch plumbing ever! What ever happened to having pride in your work. Doesn't exist with this company. They could have sent a monkey and I would have gotten a better job! Do not use A.J.Perri! Run, run, run. I would give no stars if I could.

After not showing up for a scheduled appointment, between 12p.m.-6p.m., I called at 5:57p.m. and was told I was next on the technicians route. The plumber never showed but called and said he would be at my property on Friday after his first call and if not he would definitely be here on Saturday. Never heard from him again. I called A.J. Perri on Saturday and explained to the customer service rep that I was upset and relayed my story.

She was unimpressed and blase' about the entire situation and set up an appointment for Sunday after several insincere apologies. She stated quality control would give me a call back and I could file a complaint then. I needed to schedule this appointment because I needed all my plumbing in my kitchen disconnected because my counters, sink and garbage disposal all are being replaced.

I was forced by time constraints to accept A.J. Perri and that is unacceptable to me. Quality control called me today Monday the 22nd of November. After explaining to the representative, who seemed to be amused by my explaination and could barely contain her laughter, what happened I hanged the phone up thoroughly disappointed and marginalized. I will not use this company again and suggest that they be avoided by all.

Responsive (next day), outstanding customer service & knowledgeable/pleasant professional plumbers!

This review is specific to two techs -- Alex and Elvis. They are awesome and knowledgeable. I had 3 different techs come before them (from 3 different companies -- including one through Google's partner Ontech) and nobody could figure out how to fix a heat pump/Nest thermostat issue. Alex came first to diagnose the issue, then Elvis (the senior tech) came to save the day. In the future, I will absolutely be asking for Elvis (and Alex) for all HVAC issues. No question.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. They admitted the damage to my basement was clearly their fault. I have been waiting 10 months for them to make this right. They promised they would get back to me today with a resolution and that did NOT happen. AJ Perri quality once again disappoints. STAY AWAY. I've started claims with BBB and the state board of examiners of master plumbers. THIEVES AND LIARS.STAY AWAY. STAY TUNED FOR MY NEXT POST TOMORROW!

Absolutely HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION. I had a technician come out on 11/3 for a tune-up I had requested via Home Depot. When the technician came everything was fine he discovered a problem with my gas furnace and told me it would be covered under the warranty of my unit because the unit was new. He proceeded to tell me what the issue was and that AJ. Perri will be contacting me to speak about ordering the parts via warranty but there might be a fee for them helping me with that.

I asked him how much the cost is to get these parts installed and he said: the company really likes to retain their customers and the hourly rate is $149 but I don't see it being more than $200 since it will be.

The technician named Luis showed up early this morning at the beginning of the 8-1 time slot for my furnace tuneup. He was pleasant, professional, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend AJ Perri for all your HVAC needs. Your

Watch out for these guys. They sabotage your AC system when they work on your heat, and sabotage your heating system when they work on your AC. I've witnessed it, many times.

My hot water heater went. I scheduled an appointment for a Wednesday. I got a call Tuesday asking if I would like someone here that day. James the plumber showed up, not only helpful and knowledgeable, but very personable. He explained all my options and installed my new water heater the same day. I am very happy with the results. I would recommend A.J. Perri to anyone.

A technician came to service my heating furnace. He looks around, asks us to turn on the heat. Heat has not been on since April. When we turned it on, your heard a sound when the furnace comes on. He tells us that's gas built up and we need to replace the gas lines. No we don't, it wasn't gas at all. He then tells us he needs $50 to service the furnace.

We don't pay any money to service out furnace because of the FULL WARRANTY we have that covers the yearly maintenance. Told him we wasn't going to pay that money and he needs to contact someone from A.J. Perri about this charge. He tells us he can't call anyone, he's not allowed. He then picks up his phone and texts someone then puts the phone up to his ear and starts talking.

When we asked to speak to the person on the phone, he gave us the phone but no one was on the other end. In the process of all this, we contacted A.J. Perri ourselves and they called the technician and spoke to him. He then says that he doesn't want the $50 charge and that he can't do the service. They will send someone else to do the job for free.

What kind of game are they playing with people. Be very mindful with their technicians and make sure you know what your WARRANTYS cover and don't cover. They will have people come out and ask for money that is not needed to complete a simple yearly maintenance.

Horrible communication. They sell bad units! I had a new install and for three weeks people have replaced parts and done inspections. Unit still does not function. Better off with a cheaper local person. They are not 24/7 nor are they knowledgeable.

The installer who came to. My house was very professional. Got his work done and was neat and clean. He did not rush thanks.

We got a furnace installed 4 years ag, every year they have to send someone out to service. For the past 2 years I've been dealing w black water blown on my floor and the water gauge is constantly leaking.

AJ Perri does a great job! I use them for my yearly furnace maintenance. The technicians are always friendly, yet professional. They arrive on time, work quickly and efficiently, and clean up when they're done. I really like the option of paying in advance for the next year's service. I definitely recommend AJ Perri.

Put in a new heat exchange last year. Had our furnace serviced this fall for the heating season. Was told by the Technician the new heat exchanger was rusted and need a new one! It cost over 1,500 dollars last year for labor The Technician said he would send his manager over to verify this. The manager came the next day and yes we need a new one. Than charged 105 dollars for the visit! This is still a work in progress. The salesman came and wanted to sell us a new furnace What a joke!

This company received the largest Fine ever levied on a plumbing company by New Jersey. Define because overcharging and deceiving customers. BEWARE

Great experience having my heating system changed while working from home. Guys came in and went about their business as efficiently as possible with minimal noise. Thank you so much!

I had AJ Perri come in recently to inspect my ac unit. The technician checked the inside evaporator and said no issues. Then he checked the outside unit and told me freon is liw, i have a leak, and coil needs cleaning. Total charge will be $1500. Also he said it is better to get the ac and furnace replaced which had a bad motor. He wasn't able to fix anything that day.

Next day I called another technician to get a second opinion. This guy said nothing is wrong with my ac or furnace. Just the drain pipe was clogged that led to the issue I was having. They charged me $105 for nothing. Just lied all the way. Also tried to upsell things I don't even need. Stay away from these cheats! They need to be slapped with another 100k fine.

If I could give no stars I would. I completely understand the situation and state that this country is in. But if you get paid to do a job you only have that one job to do. In this case it's figure out what's wrong with the plumbing. It started last week 9/6. I had AJ Perri come out to snake it for this $100 thing they have going on. The guy says he can't come until after six finally shows up closer to seven in the evening.

He comes he looks tired I tell him my problem he sneaks the outside hole which is usually directional which only leads to the street not the house then he says there's no clog there so then he says you're gonna have to remove the toilet it will cost about $500 and that's not putting the toilet back on. I had my friend come over help me remove the toilet AJ comes back to snake the inside toilet. He's snaking And finally he reaches is a rough part But he can't get a sneak through instead of continuing to try he gives up and says I'm gonna send a camera guy out here to find out what's going on.

He literally sneak for about a total of 10 minutes. It takes 4 days to call me (I had went away on vaca) finally I get back on 9/13 call AJ Perri immediately have them send a Camera guy that same day, yesterday, the guy doesn't show up till also 7 o'clock. He finally gets his camera and then he reaches the part where the clog is he didn't tell me how many feet the line went in he couldn't find where the camera was on the outside of the house and he refused to go underneath to tell me exactly where it was.

I completely get that everybody's tired at six 7 o'clock especially if you're working from 8-9 am. But if you have one job to do make sure you do that job to the fullest and if not say you can't do it and make sure you clock out is all I ask AJ Perry dropped the ball on me I still don't have a working toilet in my house and now I got a find someone else to come out here. Thank you for the waste of time.

I made the grave mistake of hiring AJ Perri to repair my air conditioner. They came out did the repair (the repairman could barely speak English, not even the company person on the phone could understand him). The AC worked for UNDER 24 hours! All for the low price of $1100! I called them back they sent a repairman who did speak English this time who said it was a waste of $1100 and asked if the repairman told us that- he didn't!

The company said they will give us a credit if we hire them for a brand new system. I got their pricing and including discounts, and the $1100 I thew away their price was the same for a lower quality system. Of course, the salesmen who came out to sell me a new system was very nice but seemed like I was at a timeshare sales presentation- buy now and save, tomorrow I can't give you this price-BS

I had a bad experience, with this company, they send a technician to fix a broken hose in my basement and he just tries to do something provisional no a professional repair he used old and bad supplies and two weeks later this pipe disconnected for the same place they "fixed" and made everything in my basement was flooding, up to say I didn't have any responsibility for the damages

Company sucks. Don't call these guys. Rip off. First visit tech said AC was frozen it needed a day to thaw. Charged me $150 to come out for 5 mins and said call the office to reschedule tomorrow. I was told No charge will be taken for 2nd visit. I Called. Rescheduled. Another guy came 2 days later said refrigerant level was okay, filter was dirty but not too dirty and had me change the filter in the attic while he cleaned out his van leaving garbage, boxes and recycling on the side of my house.

Then he hosed down the condenser and said refrigerant was low after saying it was okay at the beginning of the assessment. Charged me another $160 for a pound of refrigerant and left. I basically got robbed. But at least now my Ac works and I know who not to use again

There was leak in my laundry room. A. J perry schedule the appointment at 3PM. After several call they came at 9PM that too with some hot discussion. Without checking anything he told me to change the water heater. I told him but water is coming from dry wall and not from water heater. then he opened the drywall and found the leak. These guys just want you to charge in any sense.

Then he was asking me for service call fee which was $120, i told him this call is scheduled by my pipeline insurance company they will pay you whaterver your amount will be. then he was asking for $65 as a mandatory fee. I was like whats going on and asked him to call his supervisor for further discussion. After discussion with his supervisor he gone. This is very bad company and they will charge you hefty amount.

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY! Basically the same story as all those below. Quick estimate of problem concludes the entire unit is shot. Then salesman comes by in 2 hrs (good cop bad cop) to give $13k estimate. It was a bracket on a motor in a duct housing. RIP OFF. Really hard to see this as anything but a setup racket.

Do NOT trust their evaluation - get a second opinion! I paid $105 a tech come out to evaluate my AC which had stopped working the night before. He examined the condenser and air handler, and said, "your whole condenser is shot.it's crumbling from the inside, you need a whole new unit." They sent another representative to my house to go over pricing of a new unit.

He also said, "you know your condenser is shot, right?" He quoted us $15,000 to completely replace the entire AC unit; condenser and air handler. But of course if I booked with them right then and there the price would go down to just under $12k. I said I wanted a second opinion. Today, AirOne came to evaluate my AC system. He found my 55/5 capacitor was defective, and once replaced, the condenser worked fine.

It cost $150, literally ONE HUNDRED TIMES LESS THAN WHAT A.J. PERRI SUGGESTED. Even if this was a temporary fix, it gives me time to shop around and save up money for a new unit. I see from other reviews that this is their pattern.

I had AJ Perri come out for their advertised AC tune up and was told I needed to add Freon and replace the TXV valve; the $2k cost of the repair was at a point that it would make more sense to install a new system since my ac is nearing the end of its average life. The $50 tune-up was now turning into a $16k replacement. I hired another contractor for a second opinion - I needed no Freon and I do not even have a TXV.

My system may be old, but it is working perfectly. They diagnosed that I needed to replace a part that my system does not even have and that I needed Freon when I don't. Look up AJ Perri fines - clearly, they have not learned their lesson. SCAM ARTISTS!

I had new central air installed in the fall for over 10k dollars. I was told I get a 300.00 rebate, which is in writing on the receipt. I called about a month ago, and was told they were backed up. This is seven months later. I was told that she would e mail me the paperwork to submit and I still have not received it, over a month later.

Thier customer service is very polite and friendly. The install guy were on time clean and friendly as well. The price was within reason. The only issue we have is with the repair. We've had a few guys out here so far but after our new equipment was installed we are not getting the same air flow. Our 30yr old ac unit put out way more air and was more cost efficient.

Since our new ac our bill has gone up over 100$. And it takes hours to cool our house down. We've had repair guys out here 3 times and last 1 was for a duct cleaning which never happened. They try to do good by us which is fine but we just want our system back to normal operation.**update aj perri sent out thier guys again and they fixed it Jay and Paulson two very experienced guys definitely ask for them they did so much and got our system operating to how it was we thank the aj perri team for keeping us updated with our equipment very good customer service. The equipment is prestine and they wrighted any wrongs performed.

We made an appointment to have them come out Monday. Made the appointment Sunday. Monday they call and tell us Jersey City is not a part of their service area. Actually its listed as their service area. They cancelled same day after we'd taken work off. When asked if they could refer us to someone, they just said 'check Angie's list' and it definitely wasn't their problem. Waste of a day, my prob is unfixed. Make sure and double check all your appointment times and confirm everything.

My 83-year old Mom called AJ Perri to look at the central air. Their salesman, Luis Raventos came and told her she needed a whole new system. The part that's broken is critical to the system, he says, and that part isn't even manufactured any more. One part. SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. I call a buddy who does HVAC. He looks at the system.

Guess what? They still make the part. I had it there the next day, and the job was done for a lot less than SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. More like $150 bucks. Parts and labor, tax included. So barely a year after pleading out to scamming elderly people, they're right back at it. AJ Perri are con men. Keep them away from your home.
