I got the impression that Steve does not really want to install a generator at my location. He has warned me that he is not an authorized dealer for Generac. He has also warned me that his price will be higher than an authorized dealer. I will give him 3 stars for honesty and take away 2 stars for not being cost competitive. I also had Walton Heating & Cooling install my geothermal system.
They did a custom installation that included zoning. I have 4 zones connected to 2 geothermal units with a propane backup furnace. The system works great and has saved me from burning a lot of propane. The crew was excellent that installed the geothermal systems and the hvac systems have been very reliable. I would like to give 5 stars for geothermal installation and 3 stars for Generac standby generator installation. That makes my overall rating a 4 for them. (I had another company that was an authorized Generac dealer install my standby generator at a much lower price.)

I have been a geothermal owner in the north Lansing area for about 25 years, and have relied on a reputable local company to maintain and repair them. When the company I had worked with for about 20 years closed their doors, I was worried, especially when one WaterFurnace went down over the holidays. Walton to the rescue! Steve is personable, professional, and knowledgeable.
Not only was he able to quickly diagnose the problem and order the warranteed parts, but when they arrived early, he came right down to get them installed. Follow up has been great with a couple of messages just making sure everything was working properly. My systems are in great working order again, and I am confident that if anything were to go wrong, Walton will be here to fix it in a flash.

Steve and Mike installed a new Geothermal Waterfurnace Series 5 in January 2021. They were great to work with on the install and took the time to ensure my auxiliary boiler heat (heats basement floors) was tied to the system properly for backup heat. Not to mention they got me a good price on the unit as well. Fast forward. With the colder winter in 2022 I ran into some icing on the condenser coil this week so reached out to them.
They came right out the next day and reviewed the entire system, calling Waterfurnace as well to confirm their thinking and set me up with an easy fix. I have an older and probably smaller field for the fluid to cycle through in the yard so the newer furnace is more efficient than the older field. Probably more complicated than that but that is why icing happened. Resting the field let it warm the fluid back up.
Problem solved. Just have to monitor occasionally and if I see ice rest the system briefly during extreme cold weather. Good to know and I appreciate the education. Thanks so much!
