Critical: Responsiveness about 10 years ago they installed new central a/c for part of my home. job well done. called them 6 weeks ago and left message with receptionist for quote on install/upgrade on my other central a/c unit. no response. went with a competitor out of Brookfield. In 2015 Total Comfort installed my heat pump and have maintained it yearly to perfection. This year during the heatwave my system had an issue and didn't work. I have my 83 year old father living with me so I was concerned. I have spoken with the office staff kathy and Debbie many times. I was so impressed to get a call from kathy, making sure we were ok in the extreme heat. All the staff and technicians are wonderful, but I will say Kathy is top notch. Something very rare in this very busy world we live in.

Bizarre people, avoid. I initially disregarded their rude demeanor to my detriment. They then proceeded to make it sound like they were doing me a favor to service and repair non-functioning heating and AC units because they were "really busy" and booked "5 weeks out." They sent a guy who came 2 days later, but did nothing except turn off the AC so it could be assessed later after it hadn't been running for a while.
He was supposed to return the following day. He he never did. Then the lies started. First they said the house was locked and he couldn't get in when he tried to come back. Then I explained that was impossible as the house was wide open with a small army of contractors working in various parts of the house. They responded with initially dismissing my claims as impossible.
Then they completely changed the story and said he came by and spoke to the contractors, but without the owner there (to escort him around the house he had already visited) it was company policy to not enter the building. Never heard of a contractor who requires you to be present in person at your house while they do any work! So after completely losing faith in their integrity by being lied to, then I reflected on every single rude conversation I had with them where they implied they where doing me a favor by serving the units that they installed, I called another highly recommended AC guy in the area who offered to come out this afternoon! I should have initially made excuses for these people and allowed them to waste my time and give me brain damage from every interaction.

10 STARS! I've have only good things to say about Kevin and his outstanding technicians at Total Comfort Inc., Danbury. They installed a new system in our home and it works perfectly -- cools down our house in about 5 minutes. Not everything goes perfectly with a new installation on the first day but they were extremely responsive in fixing the glitches during and after the installation About 3 ms after the installation, We couldn't get the A/C on.
We left a message and they called us back at 11pm and there was a technician at my door at 8am. (It was our programming error after all that!). They have all been communicative, easy to work with and empathic I highly recommend using Total Comfort as your heating and a/c provider. I finally found a company who is honest/ fair and values great customer service! : )

I had a great experience from John on the initial sales call, then with Joe and Scotty during the installation and follow up. The gals in the office are courteous and professional as well. The price was fair and I was given options as well as good advice. I'll be doing my service through them and highly recommend you consider them for your needs.

I chose them because I heard they were the best - always see their trucks in the area at many of the top end properties. They were not the least expensive out of the 3 bids we took. Their presence in our town was such that I knew they would be reliable and great. The install team was excellent, which overall, counts for a lot. The only thing that went wrong was some of the follow up On a special Wi-Fi control that I needed on one of the split units - apparently it's not very common and Total Comfort were the ones who suggested it.
A great option for me because I travel a lot and need to control AC remotely. All companies, large and small (I have a small company) need to do their best and take Apple computers customer service as an example. Follow Through. These guys did not at first, which was a bit of stress. But they made good on their promise and we will work with them again on our future expansion. And our units work beautifully. and Quiet!

I have lived in this town for 36 years and have had many different experiences with a plethora of service providers. Without a doubt my experience with Total Comfort, it's management and their workforce has been outstanding! Great products but most important totally focused on customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend this organization to any in need of their services.

John and his team are awesome. I used them this winter to fix my heat and the repair guy knew exactly what was wrong and didn't try to tell me I needed a whole new furnace. They just repacked my central AC and once again they did an amazing job. Both men were Friendly and took only a couple hours. Also Johns prices were a couple thousand less than anyone else. I would 100% recommend them!

I am in the process of getting estimates to replace my furnace. I have called this company TWICE within the past month, the same secretary takes the info, telling me that someone will call me the next week, as in 4 business days later. Unbelievable! Fast forward, and never any follow up phone call. Guess they are doing so well, that they don't need my business. I've moved on to their competitors, they've lost any possible business from me. Awful way to run a company.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Total Comfort installed our system 2 years ago we have had nothing but problems. When we call in for a service call we are treated poorly and have to wait six days for a service call. We call a local Ridgefield Business and they fixed the issue right away the same day.

Total Comfort installed the air conditioning system throughout my house last year after my having used noisy window a/c units for many years. I am giving Total Comfort 5 stars for installing an excellent system that provides a well balanced cool temperature throughout my home and is whisper quiet too. The entire installation process was carried speedily and with great efficiency and I highly recommend this company for their sheer professionalism.

Absolutely ridiculous experience. - one technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable, the one we worked with the last time however showed up three hours late (I took half a day off for nothing) and then snapped at us during the appointment. - Parts had to be back-ordered - after not hearing for about three weeks we found out that they forgot to put in the order (we had no AC during this time). - they quoted us replacement devices for $95 each which RETAIL at Amazon for $25-30. - made follow-up appointment for which technician showed up two days early - the receptionist handling orders and appointments for us managed to make this experience a disaster from A-Z.

Total comfort was hired by the site manager, Ken Deleo, when i had our home built in 2008. I requested a hydro air system and was talked out of it by the " experts". I have had nothing but trouble with the sub standard system that was installed here. Found out later that the entire system was discontinued well before it was installed in my otherwise beautiful home -- seine made money on that and it sure was not me.
This rip off effects my family everyday summer or winter with the possible exception of the 5 stellar days you can open the windows in fairfield county and the SYSTEM IS OFF.

Wow. Surprised by the 3 other reviews. Total Comfort installed our system in 2009 as part of new construction. Hired by our builder, but we have contacted them twice each year since for fall and spring tuneups (i.e. system check, filter changes, etc.). Granted, our system is new from 2009, so no major issues, but no complaints about customer service.
Phone person always pleasant and helpful, and appointments always timely. Also, technicians have always been on time, quick and pleasant. In fact, we had squirrels in our attic, and they chewed some of the HVAC piping. Total Comfort was there the next day, gave the system a complete check, replaced the damaged piping, and retested the system. Again, very responsive and at a reasonable cost.

From the initial phone contact to the salesman and to all installation technicians, all Total Comfort employees were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. The estimate was for 3 days and they were done in a day and a half. Everyone showed up on time and proposals from Total Comfort sold us a reasonably priced system that fits our home and geographic area and not Florida summers.

Person who came to fix my heater was very good. The receptionist on the other hand is the RUDEST woman I've ever spoken too. This woman needs to be fired. The first call I made to them I thought maybe she was having a bad day, but that wasn't the case. Every time I called she was the same. I just had a problem with my air condition unit and I called a diff. company.
They were so pleasant. I will NEVER call Total Comfort again and I will make sure to spread the word! I'm giving this post 4 stars for the Tech not the receptionist.she gets no stars!

Update to this review: Monday morning the guys showed up at the house ready to fix the problem. They have been very apologetic and by the end of the day the problem was fixed. I am happy that the business owner took this review seriously and I appreciate their apology. Overall I am still concerned that we didn't have A/C for three weeks and it took a 2nd opinion to get it fixed but I'm happy the situation has been resolved.
These guys are absolutely terrible. They came in and put a replacement unit in (around 8K) and missed two previous appointments. Three weeks passed since the NEW unit was installed and still no air conditioning. I repeatedly called the office and their receptionist was rude and unhelpful. Finally I got tired of waiting since they kept sending tech's out (who never showed up on time) and got a 2nd opinion.
The 2nd opinion advised me that not only did they install the unit incorrectly but charged for work they never did. After calling them out on their incompetence they sent a tech out on a Saturday and confirmed they installed it incorrectly. Get this though its 100 degrees and the tech says the owner doesn't do weekends. I have called 3x an no calls backs.
Their answering service informed me they ARE on other jobs likely screwing other people and are too busy to fix their mess. So if you are looking for incompetence, lack of customer service, and being billed for work not done these are your guys.

Terrible and arrogant customer service! I am frankly surprised that they are a 'Premium' Lennox dealer. Whatever you do try to avoid speaking to a monster called 'Kathy' in the service department. I can only imagine her workstation.a beast chained to a post! I had the misfortune of speaking to her about repairing a Lennox unit under warranty.
She was extremely rude. She did not let me complete my sentence and instead interrupted me with incorrect information about the age of my home. She abruptly challenged me about the age of my Lennox product, gave unclear information about 50 degree days and not being able to determine the problem with the compressor. A nightmare person!
