Have a second home in Flagstaff and found ourselves in need to replace the heater and add AC to our home. I have used Cactus Mechanical in the Phoenix Area and to my surprise was willing to do our install in Flag. I can not say enough about the professionalism of this company. In todays world of supply shortages and help issues they performed stellar!
They advised us on where to install the compressor for minimal visual impact as well as noise restrictions imposed by the HOA. That were here when they said they would and completed very quickly. I recently shopped around for a new a/c unit before summer and went with this company. They stood out by being the most transparent, thorough, and competitively priced for the service. The install was fast, friendly and clean. The paperwork and payments were also handled in a courteous and professional manner. The installed unit is performing well.

My father in had not had AC for three days? I got involved and found this company, Lisa was so great and understanding. Now get this, two companies had been out there before, said sir you need a new AC unit. My father was baking, They sent Pete out, he fixed the problem in one hour! Well done, highly recommended!

Awesome overall experience. Even though I came to them with the intention of purchasing a new unit, they insisted on having one of their techs verify that there was nothing more that could be done to repair my current unit. Once that was confirmed, they used a consultative approach to selling me a new unit. Very detailed and thorough communication, and set realistic (even though not ideal due to supply/demand issues) timeline expectations. Highly recommend.

I want to compliment Cactus Mechanical, Inc. They were at my home today for about 6 hours to install a new A/C unit. I live in Peoria and the home I am leasing is about 2400 square feet and has 2 units. The original unit had to replaced. The 2nd unit is only 4 years old. The original unit was as old as the home.20 years old. The realty company who handles my lease contracts Cactus, and I am very glad for that.
The appointment was for 6:30 this morning. I had a truck there about 15 minutes early. Travis runs the crew and I greeted him. Minutes later 4 or 5 more trucks arrived. The crew was professional and extremely courteous. The attention to detail was impressive. They took care of the home like their own. When leaving, there was no mess at all. All of the crew was friendly.
In the future, if I purchase a home, I know the company who will handle my heating and cooling issues. I also met one of the owners. Mark was at my home with his team. I told him personally how satisfied I was with the entire installation process. A great start to my weekend! Great job!

We used these same guys when they were also known as Desert Sands LLC. We found these two brothers at the home show years ago. We had them replace our original AC unit in our Scottsdale home, which was a lot more work then they bargained for. When they replaced the old unit in the attic, they had to rebuild the area where the new AC unit would sit.
They really went above and beyond and never charged us extra for the time, labor or materials. We have since then moved to East Mesa and bought a new house. We had them come out a year ago in May to add an additional AC unit in the garage, so we could work out. This was during Covid, so we were building our own gym since all gyms were shut down. We got a few quotes first.
Some quotes were crazy high. I did some research before hand and knew what it would cost or should cost. Catcus Mechanical's quote was right in the ballpark. I also knew they did great work, so I wanted to hire them again. Once again, they did great work for a fair price and didn't disappoint me. However, last month the AC in the garage was not cooling off like it should have.
It was slowly progressing until it just stopped cooling the garage at all. Unfortunately, we were a month over our 1 year warranty. They came out very quickly and told us there would be a service fee just to come out. Who knew how much it would cost to fix the issue, but we needed it done regardless. Apparently, there was a slow leak that was causing the problem.
The technician spent a few hours fixing the problem and said he would only charge us the service fee, since we were so close to the year warranty. We were so happy and grateful. We left for vacation a day later for 3 weeks and then started working out in the garage when we got back home. It seemed to take the garage a few hours to cool off, which was much longer than last year in record high temperatures. So, we called them to come back out. Again, they were out within a day and it was the same guy who fixed it a month ago.
He ran diagnostics, which were fine and he called the AC manufacturer and they said it was running the way it should. The issue was due to the humidity. We had a very dry summer last year, but this summer is very humid. They said we would have to let the unit run a few hours to get the desired temperature in the low 70's. They didn't charge us for another service fee or diagnostic check, which again was great customer service.
We have let the AC unit run longer in the garage and it did seem to circumvent the problem. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone. They have great customer service, have family values, and great work ethics. I will use them again if we ever need our AC worked on in our house or garage in the future.

After having 8 local and national companies come out and give ridiculous quotes for a new AC/Heater Pump, we were referred to Cactus Mechanical by our roofer. Thank God! They were the only company in town that sold us only what we needed and not the most expensive unit they could hook us into. And I tried. After our quote I set the bait and trap mentioning I had extra money budgeted and what if we upgraded to.
I was told "you don't need that, I'll gladly sell you that, but your needs don't warrant that unnecessary upgrade". Could have got me for an extra $6000 dollars and didn't. Ethics! Love it! Installation and removal of old unit went great and so far, so good, on my new ac/heat pump. Many thanks to Cactus Mechanical for making our AC/ heat pump replacement a stress free experience. Will definitely refer to others. Cheers!

These guys are PRETTY GOOD at what they do when it comes to getting the job done right. Mike Windle figured out the problem with my AC unit very fast, went to get what was needed to fix the problem, fixed it and everything is all good now. Mike is very good at what he does, professional, quick, doesn't beat around the bush about what is needed to fix your AC problems. Thanks Mike. Hit 100 this week and of course my AC goes out. After calling two other companies who wanted to schedule me a day out I called Cactus and Lisa scheduled me service the same day! On a Friday! Mike came out and within an hour my AC was working. Turns out it was the condenser motor, thank goodness it wasn't the entire unit. I am more than pleased now and will recommend Cactus to whoever needs a good company and people to help.

I ha e been using this company for forever. They have installed an evap cooler, a new gas pack/ac unit then another larger evap unit when my old one does after over 15 years. My father used them in his real estate business was and my daughter also used them for her new A/C unit. Best prices and honest people to work with!

I called for my yearly ac service and Lisa scheduled me right away and made it convenient for me to be home. Pete arrived on time, checked out the unit and informed me a few parts needed to be replaced. He stated he would order those parts immediately and would schedule an install date. 1 week later (again very convenient for me) Louie came out on time with the new parts, installed same and tested the unit in 1 hours time. The guys did great job! We have been using Mark and his company for years and they have always done a fantastic job of keeping the ac running when we need it most.

Scheduled some service for a listing of mine a week in advance. An hour before our scheduled appointment, they called me to ask if it would be possible to schedule it for another day. I had explained that I had gone to great lengths the day after Christmas to make sure it was done on this day, which is why I had scheduled it a week in advance. They said okay, they would come at our scheduled time, which was 1:30.
At 2:30, they still haven't come, so we called to see what was going on. They said they would check, and call me back. A few minutes later, a technician called me and said he was "on his way" but was 45 minutes away. So basically, they were going to be about 2 hours late for our appointment that they had confirmed an hour before the scheduled time. I don't do business with companies who don't do what they say they are going to do.

Had a different company out for a general service. Everything was working great at the time. I just wanted to make sure everything was inline for the summer. They gave me a list of about $1500 worth of repairs. I sent them packing. My neighbor told me to call Cactus Mechanical for a second opinion. I'm glad I did. They came out and serviced the unit.
The tech was very nice and professional. He found that the unit was working properly and only needed 1 of the 5 parts that the other company said. I am very happy I called them as I might have blindly spent $1500 for parts I didn't need. I ended up spending just a little over $200 for the service and repair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I was super impressed by this company. They were able to come out next day and were a lot less than the other company that I called. I appreciated that their markup price wasn't ridiculous like the other company I called. I work in property management and Cactus Mechanical is my main vendor for AC issues on the homes we manage. I truly can't say enough good about this company. They respond quickly, don't charge me rush or emergency/weekend fees and I trust what they tell me. I need to be able to trust my vendors because they are my "eyes" in the field. When I have had to get a second opinion because of an owner request, not only is the issue exactly what Cactus said it was, their estimates always beat the other vendor. I have referred them too many times to count and have never had anyone complain about my referral.

I cannot tell you how much I regret hiring Cactus Mechanical to work on my AC in mid August. The only reason I called this company was because the Cactus Mechanical name and phone number were on the thermostat and I thought this might be the problem when the temperature of the house started going higher and higher. Had I had time to research this company, I would have noted that there are little or no positive online reviews and I wouldn't have scheduled an appointment.
I was told when I called that the service fee was $84, but would be waived if they did the work. That fee was not waived and was simply, a lie. Greg and Mike (co-owners of this small company) were both polite, but to be told by Mike that the repair could could have been $2000 and that another company would have charged much more and that the next thing to go might be a $400 fan and that even though the repair parts were guaranteed for a year, I would still have to pay a service fee and labor if something went wrong with the parts.
This was intimidating! Cactus Mechanical was one the worst AC companies I've dealt with. Even when I tried to contact them through the "contact us - comments" section of their website, it didn't go through and when I asked to be sent a more detailed invoice of the work that was done, they said they couldn't. Hoped to support small local businesses but this didn't seem to happen. I won't use Cactus Mechanical again.

I made an appointment with Cactus Mechanical last week to have my AC unit checked/tuned up. I was told they would call me 30 minutes prior to their arrival, so I needed to take a day off work to be home. The day of the appointment arrives and instead of getting a call saying, they were on their way they call to tell me they have to cancel because of a high level of broken AC units.
I completely understand and appreciate they are focused on getting AC units back up and running before doing any regular tune ups. However, they should have called a day earlier to inform me they had to cancel so I did not have to take a day off work. Potential customers call a day before your service to verify Cactus Mechanical will show up. Otherwise, you may be sitting at home for no reason.
