UDATE Hot day in June 2022: Called Mon morning for down AC unit. Tech came at 1:30pm to unclog drain which fixed the problem. Glad it wasn't something broken. Fast response during very hot weather. Earlier in 2022 semi-annual maintenance checkup found a 10yr old HVAC system was getting close to failing. Company provide several options to repair and replace and we decided to replace just the AC unit as furnace was still good. 1st rate HVAC company run by Bobbi Pappas who I first met at the Prestonwood Business Networking Group; http://prestonwoodnetworking.com/.
Great way to meet residential service providers when shopping for talent to work on home. Tech are very knowledgeable and courteous in their semi-annual house calls. Take advantage to sign up for their maintenance plan which saves $$$ on parts and labor. They replaced both HVAC systems as they wore out over the years. While installing one the tech step through the sheet rock ceiling making a big hole.
Air Mechanix got a repair man that day to fix the problem at no expense to us. You can't tell after the repair that someone stepped through ceiling. We have been customers for years and great to do business with them. UPDATAE May 2017. Upstairs A/C went down, repair tech showed up in less than 24 hrs, fixed problem short term, to return next week with replacement part at no charge (warranty).

Being a former employee of this company my opinion of Bobbi and her boyfriend are very negative. The boyfriend actually seems to like to prey on new employees. He found out how much I was getting paid and actually told a customer how he felt about it. The customer told me out of the boyfriends presence to watch him. Sure enough certain jobs just mysteriously started having things go wrong after I left them. Bobbi is a control freak, period.
I almost fill sorry for her boyfriend because he has to answer to her. She actually lied about my unemployment, tried to make me look horrible so she wouldn't have to pay it. Fortunately her attempt didn't work. Overall Bobbie and her boyfriend are bad people and I would never recommend working for them. BEWARE. If you work for them don't say I didn't warn you.

Air Mechanix was great! My AC went out and it was 80+ degrees in my home. Kelly was very nice and scheduled a technician to get out to my home with a sense of urgency. Blake and Alyssa arrived and were very friendly, professional and informative. Not only did they make the necessary repairs but they also took the time to sit down and explain to me my options and why they were making the suggestions. They had me up and running within a couple hours of my initial call. Thanks to the entire Air Mechanix team!

I work for an HVAC company out of Chicago and we sub-contract Air Mechanix to service and maintain locations in their area for one of our largest accounts. They respond right away, get to the calls in a timely manner, and are fair with their pricing. Their technicians are skilled and provide detailed explanations of the calls they run for us and of any repairs needed.
In my four years of working with Air Mechanix, I do not recall any call backs or any issues with poor work done. We have entrusted Air Mechanix with one of our most important accounts and we will continue to do so for years to come.

Very professional. Did thorough job of doing semi-annual checkup and correction of issue found. Very friendly and explained the inspection and work done to clear a problem. Identified need to replace severely rusted drain pan but absolutely no pressure to do it immediately. Technician took pictures and used them in showing me what was inspected and what should be corrected. I feel the company is very honest, technically excellent and customer oriented. I will continue to use them without question.

Bobbi and her team of HVAC professionals were great to work with and I highly recommend them. They came in to detect a leak that a previous company wasn't able to find. They offered various solutions to our AC problem and we are very happy with the outcome! Everyone from the Craig (tech) to the install team and Dale, was knowledgeable and took care of our home during the install. If you're looking for a reputable company that delivers top notch service, give Air Mechanix a call.

We had an 2002 air conditioning unit that was leaking Freon and after a pressure test by Air Mechanix found it was leaking from 6 areas and recommended a unit replacement due to the new regulations on freon on old units. We decided to replace the unit. Bobbi Pappas quoted us several different units at different price ranges. After we selected the new unit, it was immediately ordered and we received the unit a few weeks later. Installation was scheduled and their install crew was awesome.
They protected our newly laid hardwood flooring with slip proof runners and dismantled the old furnace in the walk in attic and hand carried each section out to the front of the house for proper measurements for the new furnace. Everything they did was first class. Dale was on-site with the crew and Bobbi stopped by to see the progress on installation of the furnace.
The installation, from start to finish, was very professional and they cleaned up afterwards leaving the attic area spotless. We like Air Mechanix so much that we signed up to have them perform our annual maintenance on our 3 AC units. It is extremely hard now-a-days to find good honest people who have a strong work ethic and professionalism. If you are looking for a company that DOES NOT do sub-par work and stands behind their company's reputation and commitment to consistently perform great work, you'd want to contact Air Mechanix!

I have used Air Mechanix for a few years now, however, I will NOT be using them again. I made an appointment for our yearly maintenance, and they gave me a 2 hour window of time for the technician to show up. At the end of the first hour I had to leave for a physical therapy appointment, and my assistant and my housekeeper stayed at my home to meet the technician.
He arrived apparently a few minutes before the second hour was over, and did not ring the doorbell. Kelly, in the Air Mechanix office, said he knocked, but no one in the home heard the door. That is very common in our home that if you are in the back of the house or upstairs you will not hear a knock at the door. My assistant said she saw the van from upstairs, but since he never rang the bell she didn't know he was there outside.
The technician left. They attempted to call me, but I was in a private physical therapy session and had my phone off--why I left two people at home to tend to this appointment. We rescheduled the appointment and the technician, Sam, came to my house again another day at the end of the two hour window, at which I was home. He was very nice and it was a pleasant experience.
He even said his wife is a big fan of Real Housewives of Dallas, the show I am on, and we spoke about that. I inquired about the bill when he was done and he said it would be emailed to me. When I got the bill I was SHOCKED to see a trip charge for the day prior when the technician did NOT ring the bell, and no one knew he was there. My assistant called Kelly at the Air Mechanix office thinking this would be easily resolved and the charge removed from the bill (since we were sure it was a mistake), as that is what I would have done as a business owner with a recurring and consistent customer, but they refused to do it.
I then called a few days later and Kelly in the office told me that the owner would not remove the trip charge, EVEN AFTER ADMITTING it was THEIR POLICY not to ring doorbells due to babies sleeping during the day. In the 2-3 years I used Air Mechanix, this policy was never told to me. So, I will not be using this company again due to how they handled me, a loyal customer, when a mistake was made on their end.
I should not be asked to pay a trip fee when they never rang my doorbell. And, by the way, I had to pay two people to be at my house waiting for this appointment that never showed the first time--and I had to pay another two hours to my assistant because the technician was late by 2 1/2 hours the second time we had an appointment. We were getting ready to install a huge job and the technician had pretty much sold us on them doing it, but since this is how they handle repeat customers, I don't want anything to do with this unethical company!
They were rude on the phone when I called to explain the situation, and made no effort to correct this mistake on their end, or take any blame for it being their fault. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone who doesn't like sneak attacks on bills. Look elsewhere for a company who doesn't practice nefarious business, and for a company whose owner actually has a moral compass. Truly disgusted by how I was addressed and treated by the office.

My air conditioning unit stopped working two days before a major surgery. I was completely devastated and desperate. I could not praise them enough for their responsiveness and professionalism. Sam was our technician yesterday. He was excellent. I addition to being polite and a pleasure to talk with, he kept me totally informed of where he was in diagnosing the issues we had with our unit. He was great to work with and was a true professional. He also, was sure I had the information I needed and my happiness with the service was very important to him. Sam was a great representative for Air Mechanix. I will request him in the future!

Always quick to respond and offer solutions. We have an annual contract so they are very familiar with our system. They maintain it beautifully - usually able to identify potential issues before they are issues. When stuff comes up they get to us quickly. Very customer focused! Service: AC maintenance

This family-owned business reaffirms my belief that there are still quality, trustworthy companies that exist. We've been working with Air Mechanix for several years. Their technicians have been honest in diagnosing our unit and making minor adjustments to extend its life. When we recently upgraded our thermostat and a breaker blew, they immediately came out to repair it (late on a Saturday).
In less than an hour, it was repaired. He knew exactly what was wrong. The owner truly cares, calling personally to assure us when we were less than satisfied, showing us integrity still exists -- a rarity in today's market.

We have used Air Mechanix for over 10 years for our AC and Heating service and cannot say enough good things about their work ethic, character, and customer service. We had a wonderful experience years ago in our previous home when our heater died during a really cold winter and began using them for regular service from that point on. This week the AC unit our current home died (which we knew was due to be replaced when we bought the house).
They were able to fit us into their already packed summer schedule and get us fixed up with a new system really quickly. I highly recommend Air Mechanix and do not plan to use any other company in the future!

I am thoroughly impressed by this company! I came home Thursday evening at about 4:45 to find my AC was out. My property management company called Air Mechanix at 4:50 and they were at my house within two hours. Sadly it wasn't an easy fix and a new compressor needed to be ordered. They said they would be here Saturday morning and it would be approximately a four hour job.
They were here before 9:00 and done before noon. Cory, who came the first day and Dale and his crew who were here today were all amazing! They were respectful, courteous, friendly and efficient! I would recommend them to any and everyone. I can't thank them enough for getting me cool air for these triple digit days!

I am a general contractor specialized on hi end wine rooms. Air and humidity control are vital to keep wine from going bad. Some times the vine collected by my clients turns into a very important investment and could amout into the tens of thousands. I have done this for many years and since the beginning I have trusted the refrigeration to the guys of Air Mechanix.
I will neve work with another company. The guys at Air Mechanix takes real pride on their job and every time delivers nothing short of perfection. They are knowledgeable and experienced, in fact, most of what I know about wine conservation was taught to me by them. Thanks Bobbi and Dale for many years of satisfied customers.

We will NEVER use this company again and would never ever recommend them to anyone. Run fast, don't do it. Find another company to work on your air conditioner. So, my experience starts here. My husband called these guys to come out and replace a fan motor in our A/C unit. Why he didn't call the usual A/C company we use is totally beyond me, but oh well. So, he finds this company, calls them, and they come out and replace the fan motor in the unit. OK.all is well.for about 3 months and then the unit stops working again.
The fan motor is dead. Well, you know what happens next -- we call them and tell them that the motor they just replaced has gone out. So, they come back out and replace it with another one. Now, at this point, we're at the end of the season, rolling into late fall so that A/C season is over. Fast forward through the winter (when we're not using the A/C, btw.) So, now it's Spring in Texas and time to turn the A/C on again.
We turn it on and guess what - the motor works, but it is loud, VERY loud - like, you can hear it in the house loud. I call our usual A/C guys and ask them to come out and look at the unit Air Mechanix worked on and tell us what's wrong with it (btw, our original A/C guys replaced our other A/C unit motor about 1 month to Air Mechanix replacing the 2nd unit motor - and no, we haven't had any issues with their repairs whatsoever - none!).
The good A/C guy tell us that there's a problem with the motor Air Mechanix put in. So, there you go.another bad motor from Air Mechanix. My husband calls and speaks with Bobbie at Air Mechanix. She's the owner and doesn't mind telling you that. She gives him the run around for 3 weeks - says that they will come out and look at it, but that they're busy with other customers, blah, blah, blah.
My husband speaks with one of her technicians who happens to be her husband. The result is the same thing, different person. Now, I'm at the end of my rope with these guys. So, I call and speak with Bobbie. She tells me that they came out and replaced it once and that they can't come out again for free. They will have to charge us to diagnose the problem.
My question is.when you came out to replace it the first time, why didn't you diagnose it then? Seems reasonable, huh? - particularly given that you're having to redo your own work. Then she starts telling me over the phone that it is probably an electrical problem. Really? Since when can someone diagnose an electrical problem over the phone?
She goes on to explain that they're a small company, working full days, now it's heavy season and they're busy, blah, blah, blah.and oh, she doesn't take well to people calling her telling them that they need come out and fix a problem for free (totally omitting that she never fixed it to begin with, but clearly kept the payment). So, as I stated in the beginning.
We will NEVER ever ever use this company again. We paid them more than $700 to replace a fan motor with a new one (which should have been half that price) and all we got was a bad motor and then it was replace with another bad motor. You tell me - would you call that good service? Beware!

I'm always nervous having strange people in my house tracking mud on my carpet, messing with my shit, and telling me how much money I need to pay them. Not the case with these guys. We recently had some drippage issues with our A/C that our warranty is being a little bitch about and refuses to pay for anything. The warranty folks sent out some technicians who basically came in here and were like "whoa, it all needs to be replaced, " left a huge mess, and charged us $89.
After lots of back and forth with the warranty people, we decided to get a second opinion and were recommended the Air Mechanix guys. A guy named Jason showed up and was super nice. It was raining outside so I was terrified of mud but luckily he had some booties for his shoes that he was very diligent about wearing in the house even though he had to go in and out a bunch of times.
He opened our unit up and inspected it much more thoroughly than the other guys. He noticed that the glue on our primary drain was no longer sticky so he reglued it for us after he cleared it out. I had gathered a bajillion questions over the few weeks we had been dealing with the warranty people and he answered every one very honestly. He showed me exactly what was wrong with everything and even did some extra tests for me just to physically show me how everything was working.
He explained our options to us and it was clear that he wasn't just trying to get our money like the other guys. We now know exactly which pieces have issues and what the risks are if we fix it, clean it, or just let it be for now. He also offered for us to call him at any time if we had more questions. AND he completely cleaned up after himself and made sure everything was the way he found it.
He told me it was nice to meet me and wished me a good weekend. Is it so hard to be friendly, other businesses? I would definitely recommend them if you need A/C guys, this is how a professional business should be run.
