Brake Max Car Care Centers

Had two tires that were not holding air. Went in and they repaired my tires in about an hour. They said there was no charge for the repair, just that they hoped I'd be back if other services were needed. I absolutely will be back for oil changes and other service needs that may arise.

Sam and Nigel were knowledgeable and patient with me. They explained the work thoroughly and the job was done in a reasonable amount of time. I have not had other work done here, but I observed other customer interactions and they are knowledgeable about other repairs and service. The staff does not appear to be out to hose anyone, but rather to make the appropriate recommendations and build repeat customers.

Very disappointed. I always use Toyota dealer for all my car services. But this time after seeing so many good reviews decided to give BRAKEmax in Oro Valley a try. I was very disappointed. I came for a simple oil change. After 45 minutes of waiting I was informed that they broke the oil filter housing and I need a new one. Of cause they blamed the previous mechanic who over tighten it.

After two hours of waiting I was told to pay an additional $100 for the part they broke. I looked up the price of this part online and it was $39 at Toyota dealership and $30 in every other store in town. When I asked why the price is so high, Jeremy, the store manager told me that they do not buy their parts at Toyota dealer or online. If this is true, why would they buy parts from the place that charges twice more than a Dealership?

Big question! Then Jeremy decided to give me a "discount" and dropped the price to $69.99 for a $30 part. What a scam. Looks like they are in the business of taking advantage of Oro Valley residents by reselling the parts with three-fold profits, not to repair their cars. That's such a shame. I always try to give my business to the companies located in Oro Valley. BRAKEmax will not be one of them.

Awesome service. They stayed in contact with me on all needed repairs and changes in cost really helped us out. Great guys all around!

My tire had a nail in it. Called at opening, 0730, asking if I could bring it in. They said come on down. The patch job took 20 minutes max, and they didn't charge me for it. Customer service was great, and they made it a painless, convenient process.

These people were awesome! They serviced my car and saved me a lot of time and grief. They gave me piece of mind. All of the staff were amazing and they did a wonderful job. Props to the manager and staff!

I won't be going back here. First, they misdiagnosed the problem with the engine running rough and recommended all new plugs and wires, along with some other things. $1500 later and the vehicle did not run any better when I picked it up. They told me that the 'chems' needed to go through the system for a couple of days. After 2 days it wasn't any better.

I left it the next day, and they replaced an ignition coil. Another $400 (but they told me they gave me $50 off for my trouble. Some research later shows that the ignition coil for which they charged me $349 is available for $172 AT THE DEALER, and as little as $30 for after-market! I told them how I was unhappy with the local dealer, and was looking for another mechanic.

They will not be it. They should be ashamed for the blatant part price gouging. Aside from this review, I will make sure to share this story personally with at least 100 people. Update 04/15/2022: After the original review was published, the management contacted me. They refunded the difference between the dealer prices (not after-market) and the prices they charged me for the parts.

They stated that their pricing in the computer 'glitched' and that the personnel at the location aren't in control of the pricing. I can't confirm this, but when I originally questioned the price of the spark plugs at $39 each (before the original review), the location personnel stated, "We use OEM parts". My conclusion is that the location personnel have at least some knowledge of how much parts should be, and how much they are marked up.

The tune-up I received was unnecessary, and they should have offered a complete refund for that as well. Management was apologetic, respectful, and diligent in attempting to contact me. I'm glad that they refunded me almost $600, but I still will not be going back.

I was bringing my truck there for oil changes and I ended up needing a tuneup they charge me $1300 which I guess was about right for what they said they did but they took out two coils they say we're not working there's a coil on each cylinder and did other work but never saved any of the parts to show me so I said OK and I went in one final time to have an oil change and they told me my oil pan gasket was in need of replacement because it was leaking and my rear differential gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced for a total cost of about $800 I took it to another place Aarons affordable automotive when they got it up on the lift they showed me that the oil pan was not leaking and did not need replacing and they charge me $100 to replace the differential gasket I would not recommend Brakemax.

I did not have an appointment, it was an emergency walk-in fir a tire repair. Unfortunately, the tire could not be repaired and I was shown the reason. I agreed to replace the tire for a new one and the work started. The mechanic was very efficient and I was out of there within the hour. Very professional and efficient business. Highly recommended.

Was told by Royal Mini that I needed rear brake pads. As some issues in the past, took to BrakeMax for a second opinion They said pads were okay - and maybe replace in a year What a pleasure to find an honest car repair service. I give them a YAY!

My battery went dead in the Target parking lot a hundred yards from their store. Their technician Jacob walked over with a jump kit and started me after which I pulled into a bay. My new battery was installed in just minutes. It was an unbelievably good experience. Tony at the desk ran the show. I simply cannot imagine a better experience. I was very impressed with their service. I thought I had an oil leak and they took a look at it and shared that it was probably a sloppy oil change. Clean the bottom of my car and told me to keep an ion it. There were no charges. I felt that they were very very honest and we go back to them for any other repairs. Really appreciated Carlos Chavez the shop manager going above and beyond to replace my brake rotors under the intent of the warranty even though it was several weeks past the actual warranty expiration. I should also note that I have brought my wife's car here in the past for new brake pads (which the Kia dealership was adamant needed replaced immediately) only to be told by this Brakemax that not only did they NOT need to be replaced immediately, they didn't even need to be replaced for another year! These guys have integrity and stand behind their work and I will continue to bring my vehicles here in the future.

We are traveling this winter with a motor home and tow car. We picked up a nail in the tow car and needed to have it fixed. As this was a moving day we needed to get it fixed that day. I walked in and they said it would be 2-hours. 30 minutes later I walked out the door and to beat all there was no charge for a flat tire repair! Kudos to BRAKEmax tire and service for making what could have been a frustrating experience a pleasure.

I set an appointment to fix a slow leak in one tire. The online appointment scheduler was easy and Carlos at the shop promptly confirmed the time and date. At the shop the service was prompt and the staff was helpful, courteous and professional. The shop was clean and well organized. This is a good place to have your vehicle serviced.

Tire had a big screw in it. They took the car back and did the repair quickly. Took about 30 minutes, which was much faster than the 90 mins max I was quoted. No charge, either! Service: Tires

I dont recommend going here if youre a solo female looking for an oil change. Tried to charge me $100 for a synthetic oil change (lol). Good thing my brother is a mechanic in another state so Im familiar with the true price of oil changes and I told them I wouldnt be paying that price. Of course after being called out, they give you "discounts" which is really just what the price should have been originally.

I felt grossed out by the whole situation so when I got home, I looked at my receipt from the last time I let them change my oil and carbon air filters. Turns out they charged me an extra $20 for "air filters" on top of the $40 for the "carbon air filters". Unfortunately my boyfriend picked up my car that day so I never noticed the receipt. Long story short, just dont go here unless you want to be ripped off. Youre better off elsewhere.

Didn't like having to pay for new brakes or tires, but alas that was all necessary. Despite that, Brake max and their employees made everything swift, easy, and painless. Will definitely go back there in the future! Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes

After find out i couldn't get my tire fixed from another tire place after getting a nail in my tire. I realize I need new tires. I call several places with not much luck to get it fixed that day and most tire places had a long waiting list. I am handyman contractor and need my truck every day so need it fixed asap. I was just about to give up but saw on Google brake max so I called them. what impressed me the most was they answered right away and they had my tire in stock and could fit me in that day which was awesome I would highly recommend everyone to them. Today I went in for an oil change and to have my front end looked at. BrakeMax took care of the oil change then took me to my vehicle to show me what needs attention on the front end. Javier, manager at this location, was awesome. He took the time and patience to go over what was wrong with my front end. It needed to be fixed and sooner than later.

I bit the bullet to repair it. I wanted to wait because it was going to be a big hit to the wallet, but the more I thought it through, the more I knew it was for the safety of the vehicle. I also ended up having my windshield replaced. And that process was just as easy. No complications. They shuttled me to and from my home. This is not how I wanted to spend my weekend but the guys there made it a nice experience. The whole team today was just awesome. Javier, Carlos, and Aaron are wonderful people. I had an appointment but when I got there I was told they were backed up and couldn't look at my car. They ought to have called me before my appointment to cancel it rather than have me drive to the location and tell me then.

A/C was intermittently working so brought it to these guys. They were quick to fit me in, polite, and took a look but couldn't find any issues as it was currently working. Appreciate that they did not try to charge for or recommend any repairs without a clear diagnosis.

This place is honest and wonderful! Gary is super nice and I had to take my car in to get the air conditioner fixed. When Gary gave me my price quote, I ran it by a friend of mine who is a mechanic and the price turned out to be straight! They also got the repair done in great time!. I will definitely be going back here to get my oil changes and my tires done. Thank you guys!

When it comes to working on your vehicle it can be difficult to know where to take it. Do you take it to the dealership and overpay for service? How do you know if the job was done right, the first time? How do you know you're not overpaying for a service? All very good valid questions. My experience, Brake Max will not disappoint. If something needs replacing, they'll tell you.

If it doesn't, well, they will tell you that too! The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are not trying oversell you on work which does not need to be done. The staff here go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is well taken care of. If your vehicle is going to take a while, they offer shuttle service to take you home or wherever you need to go. This place can get busy, so be sure to make an appointment when servicing your vehicle. Staff here has health and safety measures in place.

As of 4/30 still waiting to hear from someone per that managers reply. A lot of words, no actions from the people at BreakMax. Just shady people and a shady business. I also want to note that while I was cleaning out my car this week, I found some large piece of grey plastic in the glove compartment that wasn't there before. I'm anxious to find out where it came from, in case I'm looking at something they broke that could cause me further issues later on as someone also posted in another review.

Came here to have my car inspected I do Uber and Lyft and the gentleman was extremely kind. He gave me a 2-1 special and was kind and fast. Great service will definitely be back!

Excellent work and costumer service. These guys take the time to find what's really going on and will try to do everything they can to get the job done and save you money by not trying to sell you things you don't need. Highly recommended!

I have always had a bad feeling about this place but twice now I've gone and my bill has "accidentally" come out higher than it should be-when I pointed it out they quick fixed it but I'm pretty sure this is a policy to try to overcharge you and then walk it back when you call them out. I have had $1300 in repairs here over the last few months. So far I am happy that my car is running well and I am happy to have found a car repair shop near my house that can work on my '08 Prius. After a $900 repair I needed more work done on my car after only a few months. I think it's because my car is old. When I found that I needed the 2nd repair I called and THE rudest man answered the phone.

He talked to me as if I was 5 years old and hung up on me! I eventually spoke to someone else but don't be surprised if you're a women and get treated like an idiot by the repair men. I give 5 stars bc the manager was much nicer. Maybe they should keep their service repair workers off the phones.

Took my 2010 Ford Fusion to BRAKEmax at 3245 N. Swan Rd, in Tucson, Az. I had hit a speed bump and all of a sudden the brakes weren't working right. They looked it over and offered a ton of services, which I never expected. It took days to discover all the issues, and the staff at the site put up with my incessant nagging, but when I picked up my car today and reviewed all they had done, I was overwhelmed by the thorough work they did on my car!

They not only fixed the brakes, but the valve cover gasket, did the entire brakes including master cylinder, fuel injection cleaning, and the list goes on and on. And at such a reasonable price that I left there feeling so grateful! Great job guys! Thank you so much!

Brakemax has been a solid place to get my hybrid oil changed. I used to use another company but they failed to meet my needs on several occasions.

This is the best auto repair business. I've brought my 2002 Kia Sportage here since 2003 and have been more than pleased with their expertise and professionalism. Gary, the manager, is so nice and accomodating when I've had to leave my car for more than a day. Kevin, one of the mechanics who works on my car, is extremely proficient and professional. You'll not go wrong taking your vehicle for service to BrakeMax #8!

Had some horrible noises coming from the driver's side wheel well when I turned to the right. but only after driving for longer than 10 minutes. (NOTE: When reading this review, it is important to know that the shop was a SHORT distance away from my home and it was about 40°F) Initially, they couldn't find anything wrong with car. Everything looked good underneath and the noise couldn't be replicated.

I happily hopped into my car and drove away. The noise suddenly started again after I drove for about 4 miles, I called and Ricardo recommended I immediately return to the shop and pull directly into the back. ALL of the technicians heard the noise when I arrived. They found the problem almost instantaneously. A rock from our beloved Tucson roads was hiding between the brake rotor and backing plate.

The rock would drop down after the system warmed up and cause the awful, screeching cacophony. It wouldn't do it when the system was cold. Honestly, I blame myself for not driving further before taking it in on such a cold day, as that was the only time the issue arose. Gary and Ricardo were extremely helpful and nice. The technicians were great as well!

They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I was not charged for this entire inspection or process! I highly recommend this establishment! Thank you so much for fixing the issue!

Gary at Brakemax is v good. Unfortunately the rest are not willing to understand your problems and are just guided by dumb policy. i had my escalade serviced with them since two years. last servuce was like two weeks back- wife took it for service. I knew battery is upfor renewal but they dudnt mention anything about it. 15 days later, battery went dead in am and i knew it needs replacement - tried to jump it but caught sparks so i was afraid. went to them to come help me as i stay right opposite at summerlin villas - guess what - we cant help u, get it towed here was their answer! i went straight to breakmasters in grant and columbus and they sent a tech with me who jumped my car and brought it back to have my battery replaced. i have three cars and i had switched my first car- a crosstour to them after they could fix a problem no one including brakemax could fix. now i am switching my crv and escalade to brakemasters at grant and columbus as they are fantastic.

I mistakenly took my truck here instead of Brake Masters. I provided the part for my truck and asked them to install it and change my oil. I was quoted at Brake Masters it would be around $50 to fix what was needed on my truck, that was them providing the part and labor. Here at BRAKE MAX, they charged me $48 just to install a part I provided. I guess I learned my lesson, I'll NEVER go to a BRAKE MAX again. UPDATE:they gave me a lower price because of this post.

To the manager, my facts are straight. I shouldn't have to bitch about $10. But when it is more than the other place with them providing the part and labor. I'm going to bitch.
