Took down my review after the request of Gene to remove. He promised that all errors and problems would be resolved immediately. That was on the 6th of June. As of today I have absolutely no resolution and no documentation as promised. That was to be done immediately since there had been nothing but problems since the first day they stepped foot onto my property. Needless to say I am sorry I removed my initial response, and am very sorry that I used this company and allowed them into my property.
I have a heater with no information as to what it is or how to use it, and I have yet to receive a receipt for my payment that they received. I would not recommend using this company as you may be left in the dark as I am.

NRG Technician, JOHN G. came out was incredibly nice, informative and honest about my system and it's needs. Just needed them to check out my system for the summer months. I had them come out for a routine maintenance on my Heating & AC unit. He suggested that my AC unit needed to be cleaned because of all the dust and dirt from the backyard.
He explained very easily why it needed and how it would be beneficial for the life of the unit and how in the long term I would save my own money. Thank you for taking the time.

I couldn't be more pleased with the services NRG heating & air conditioning has provided. John G is an expert technician who does a great job! He provided an excellent, detailed explanation of what was needed and future recommendations. John's work was quick and efficient, and he is personable, yet professional. I highly recommend NRG for your summer ac and winter heating maintenance.

I called NRG to fix a noise problem in a mini split they had installed three years earlier. the technician came but could not fix the issue and said he will have the manager call me. I paid $85.00 for the visit even though the issue was not resolved. I heard nothing back. I called a few days later and was told they had called and left the msg for me the same day.
I had no messages in my VMB. they then sent someone else who tried to fix the issue but the noise got louder after he apparently replaced a pipe to fix the issue. He then told me he will have the quality manager Cynthia call me back. I never heard back. knowing they were not able to fix the problem of their own installation, I called the manufacturer, Daikin, and was referred to one of their own qualified Daikin specialists. when the technician came, within less than 10 minutes he diagnosed the problem and two days later the repair was scheduled and completed.
A loud noise I was dealing with for over one month in waiting for NRG, is now entirely fixed. According to the technician from the qualified company, the installation had major flaws which had led to the noise issue only after three years of use. I called NRG back and asked them to refund the $85.00 I had paid them, the customer service Rep said "the system shows we called and left a msg for you to schedule repair". they had never called me.
I told him this was not the first time they were claiming they had left a msg for me when my phone showed no calls from them. He then raised his voice, interrupted me and yelling said they had called at such and such time. I was shocked at how a service company Rep could yell and speak so aggressively to a customer without any provocation what so ever. according to him (while yelling) the quality control manager, Cynthia will be calling me when back from lunch.
I am yet to hear from her. I know it will be the same as the other two times in the last month when they claim they called and put a note in their system but never in reality make the call. THEIR DISHONESTY IS WORSE THAN THEIR INCOMPETENCE!

I would like to thank Allen for coming out and sharing his vast knowledge with the Owner and myself in regards to what he felt needed to be done. He gave us vital information to a subject we both knew nothing about at the time, I have no complaints about our experience with Allen and NRG Heating and Air Conditioning. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with AC/Heat repair issues.

Even though I did not use them, their price was the lowest, they were extremely helpful in answering questions, and most importantly provided a very detailed quote. Even when they came out to provide a quote, the tech explained everything. If I did not really want a different brand, I would have hired them.

Eli, and John before hime are masters of their trade. My problem is that I'm so cheap, I think their prices are too high. I expect a lot of this has to do with the overhead involved in running a top tier company like NRG, but my current financial position makes me put off til next year, or the next upgrades and services I would have preferred to purchase during the pandemic.
I have great admiration for NRG and its staff, I just wish I could afford them. I will repost after I try doing some of the repairs myself, and then we'll see if I'm as smart as I think I am.

DON'T CALL THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF. Called them this past week because my unit wasn't turning on. The technician came out and told me my breaker was tripped, flipped my breaker and the unit turn on. After looking at my unit he "recommended" more like up-sold that I add a booster and replace my contactor. The total price was close to $1,300!
I Google the price of the part and it's $11 and they were going to charge $750. The other part is $25 and they're charging $280! I understand mark up, even double the price of the parts is understandable when they are this cheap but 90 times more the part is just wrong.

I am really disappointed in this system. I am also really disappointed in the staff with the exception of Max. I purchased this system last year in July.less than 9 months ago. It stopped working less than one month after I purchased it. The technician came out, refilled it with coolant and it worked for the rest of the summer. I tried to use the heater, and the heater worked fine.
I tried to turn on the AC about 1 month ago. They sent a technician to come out. He got it to work, and I thought that it was fine. I get a call from Cynthia, who tells me that I need to get a tune up. I told her that I would not get a tune up on a system that is not working. I reminded her that this system stopped working 3 times in less than 1 year and that something was wrong.
She insisted that a tune up would fix the problem. I told her no.that the system needed to be replaced. A younger, inexperienced and unprofessional female called me a couple of days later trying to alarm me regarding the importance of maintenance and a tune up. I told her to send me an e-mail. Less than 1 month later, my AC stopped working.on a Wednesday.
I called them back, they were not able to send me a technician until Friday. The temps were close to 100 degrees in the valley. I had to wait 2 days. When the technician, Max, came out.he found the problem. There was a hole in the system. He said that he would ask to get technicians out here as soon as possible. The system stopped working again less than 10 minutes after he left.
I called the office back, hoping that they would reach Max and send him back. Cynthia calls and leaves me a message that someone would not be back here until the following Monday. Please avoid this company at all costs. I have 4 dogs that are panting and are hot. I have an almost 16 year old that does not do well in cars or in the heat. I hope he does not die.
I have contacted two law firms regarding possibly suing to get my money back so that I can purchase a system from someone else who can provide more timely customer service. I will also be putting in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and looking at what state agencies may be able to help me.

I have been an NRG customer for close to 10 years, and I have been very happy with the installations of both my prior home, and here in my current condo residence of the past 2 years. The technicians that have serviced my units have been very professional, and even when they have dirtied my attic entrance opening, or put a greasy palm / hand print on a door or wall, I happily used my 409 cleaner after they had finished and left.
I feel for some of the clients that left a 1-star review with NRG, for their stories of bad service that may have been warranted, but it was nice that NRG actually apologized and attempted to remedy the situation following these comments / complaints. One cannot make every one happy all the time.

NRG i have so much to say about this company I can't seriously give one star. The only good thing, some of the people were nice. But EVERYTIME something had to be changed or added, was crazy. Unfortunately I fell off the cliff believing everything they said. Yes thousands of dollars were spent for a new a/c then new tubing then I had rat infestation (no I did not) removing my whole attic insulation that even wasn't that old because they now said the rats were going to eat through my brand new ducts that cost thousands I could barley afford.
While I am still making payments on my new air conditioner. Omg they scared me to death.sleepless nights thinking an infection of rats were crawling around my ceiling. They NEVER sent a rat technician to investigate the problem they just took the word of the guy who came on a routine to check my filter which he didn't even check. Yes there was a rat that got into the attic but it never came back.
They charged me over six thousand to remove all the insulation and rat tech and replace the insulation. BUT THEY NEVER SENT A RAT TECHNICIAN UNTIL AFTER THE REMOVAL. The rat tech said they should have called him first. THEY DIDN'T it was the routine guy who came to check the filter that made the call. Do you smell something here? He SCARED ME into believing if I didn't do it they would eat into my over 3 thousand ducts I had just had installed 3 months ago.
There is so much more here but my hands are crippled and it hurts to type. One last thing NOW my thermostat nest is not working; it was, before all the BS now they want to charge me 95 dollars to send someone out. By the way someone did come out 3 days ago got it running, now it's not. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY i can't take anymore of their kindness, because they are killing me. I'm physically sick everytime I have to communicate with them my heart palpitations are insane.
They need to stop doing business like this I trusted this company but no more. So now it looks like I will have to call another company for second opinions, this is how it has to be. I trusted now I'm ruined because now I am fearful of money grabbers trying to take what little I have. I will never recommend this company for anything.

I considered getting a cleaning of my attic and decided to wait. I called to cancel. Ever since then I have been harassed with phone calls trying to get me to reschedule. I asked them not to keep calling. They ignore me and persist by peppering me with solicitation calls. Folks, stay clear of this cult like mentality. They are extremely unprofessional.

NRG's technician, JEREMY, came to my house and did a great job inspecting my HVAC system to get it ready for the summer months. The suggestions he made for replacing the filter and having the whole system cleaned seemed very fair and honest. He showed me exactly just how dirty my condenser coils had gotten. He was very respectful and responsive and answered all of my questions and was really great with my giant puppy. :- The only reason I took one star off this review is that when I made my appointment I specifically told the appointment setter the size of my filter because I knew it was an unusual size.
I wanted to make sure that they had it in stock or could get it when the appointment was set. While the agent on the phone me to set the appointment was very courteous, I don't think he was experienced and didn't make a note of that. Otherwise great experience.

Had an initial great experience getting some help with my thermostat and they indicated I needed a new furnace since it was old and potentially unsafe. I appreciated this advice, signed up for their service plan, and asked them to come back to either service or give me quote. The other technician came over and confirmed that I should get a new furnace since my current one was just too old. However, we had just had our whole house painted and he left a big mess of black marks and scuffed paint when accessing the attic.
I reached out over email and phone to see how they would handle it. I got a call from the tech but he was too busy but he would come back later to clean it. Nothing after that. I emailed service with pictures and they said they would look into it. I got a call from a manager wondering if I was ready to move on the quote but she had to leave for the day and then nothing.
I keep getting outmated texts and emails to give reviews which is annoying, since I'm just looking for them to simply clean up the mess and pay for repaint. At this point I don't trust NRG to do a good job so moving on and having the ceiling repainted. Too bad since my initial experience was good but they feel too big and unresponsive.

Complete rip off! Stay away! They tried to charge me over $3000 for unnecessary repairs! This company is very corrupt. The tech they sent out was absolutely full of it. He tried to convince me that my HVAC was about to give out and needed over $3,000 in repairs, when I've had 0 issues with it. Obviously they are trying to upsell and rip people off.
For 3K most people would install a new system which would cost about $9,000. I moved into my condo about a year ago and my HVAC has been running great but with summer coming up I wanted to get it tuned up. The tech they sent out didn't even tune up my system, instead he performed a "maintenance and safety inspection" then tried to rip me off!
See the attached estimate. After researching myself what parts cost I realized this was a complete rip off. They wanted to charge me over $300 for a capacitor and $2,000 for a $200 motor. I wish I could say it was just a dishonest tech but the service representative I spoke to on the phone was pushing hard on their prices. I called them out on the mark up of the the parts and he said they have to charge that much for their parts because of the quality.
They came back with another estimate that was only a few hundred dollars lower. I told them $1,500 is the most I was willing to consider and he said there's no way. Then he told me if I'm handy and can buy the parts and install them myself (rude and a strong arm tactic). For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure I could install a capacitor myself but I would rather pay a professional with experience that won't rip me off to do it.
So I decided to get a second opinion and I'm so glad I did! I called up Service Genius and they sent out a real honest and professional technician. He told me my system is running great despite the age. He told me the startup system could be upgraded but he didn't try to upsell me on that. He told me he could replace the capacitor instead of installing a new startup system that same day.
Total cost was about $250 for tuneup, new capacitor and labor. He said my blower motor was good and the cooling power of my system was great, with regular maintenance my HVAC could last a couple years. I know this is true because the at the time of purchasing my condo I had another tech tell me the same. I ended up signing up for a membership plan with Service Genius! That is how you earn business, by respecting and being honest with your customers.

I received a quote from American heating and air for 48k - what a joke. NRG did my solar which was fantastic and now have received quote and having them do my work at a fraction of the cost. They fixed my AC so didn't need to be replaced and are now replacing the downstairs heat and entire house duct work for under 8k total - love them and trust them

When it comes to my heating and air needs I think that NRG HONESTLY cannot be matched. I was looking for a local and reliable company to help me with quotes to redo my whole system in my house from the 1960s and I called many different companies all were either over priced or they were just trying to rip me off. NRG came in and made the process super easy from start to finish, when I booked my call the customer services people were extremely fast and attentive.
The tech that came out was super knowledgeable, kind, explained everything is detail and knew exactly what I needed without too much Mumbo jumbo! I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable, consistent, and knowledgeable heating and air company. Oops forgot to mention install was pretty quick and efficient too which is dope! Well that's all folks! Thx NRG FOR KEEPING ME WARM THIS SEASON!

This fall my husband and I decided it was time to upgrade our Heating and Air Conditioning equipment. We immediately began setting up appointments with different companies. After getting several quotes we continued our search and found NRG. The process to set an appointment up was easy, we spoke with a representative who was very patient and answered all my questions, she explained the process very well and sent a service technician out.
The technician who came out was very professional. He wore a mask the entire time and actually took the time to explain the many different options that we had. In the end we did decide and wanted to say Thank you NRG for the new equipment. We are extremely happy and will definitely recommend you guys to the rest of our family and friends.

Run, don't walk! Do not use NRG Heating and Air Conditioning! Firstly they charge you $159.00 booking fee to clean air conditioning ducts, which they refuse to refund, even if you never use their services. I had to cancel a week after making an appointment due to contracting Corona virus (Omicron) and they were unwilling to refund me. Initially they told me it was no problem to get a refund and they wished me well and said that a refund check would be mailed.
When the check didn't arrive, I called again and was told that the lady who writes the checks was at lunch but she would call me back when she returns. She never did. I called the following day and was told that the lady who writes the checks is out of the office and that they are running on a skeleton staff due to Omicron. They suggested I call back the following week on Monday when more people were back at the office.
Finally they called me back and suddenly their tone changed and the rude woman told me that they never give refunds, not even for covid. So here is the lesson: if a company asks for your credit card information before arriving to do the work, that is fine, AS LONG AS THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD AFTER THE SERVICE HAS BEEN PERFORMED! It is unethical to charge a customer for doing nothing. This is a huge red flag. Never pay deposits or fees for work that has not yet been done. Terry B

Terry B

Although they are advertising a chimney sweep (even the imagery suggests it) for $99 they only inspect and clean the lower part. If you want a proper chimney sweep, they will charge you $259. In addition, the guy they sent to us, was rude and calling us liars for pointing out they are advertising a chimney sweep.

Night heating and air conditioning came out and within 5 minutes figured out what was wrong with our heater. We had another company out 6 times and could not find the problem. I would definitely recommend NRG for all your heating/air conditioning situations. Joe U. was the tech who figured what was the problem, very professional, no mess, even cleaned up marks on the hatch to the attic. Way to go NRG and Joe.

In this day and age it is refreshing to see someone take pride in their work. A part in our furnace was defective. The manufacturer told NRG that it would be 3 months (!) before a part could be available. When Adam Nasser, the tech heard that he did not just accept the answer but found a solution. He said he would be back in a week. He was back in a couple of hours! He fixed it, checked it, made sure it worked and explained everything he did. NRG - you have a great employee there. He is who I will use from now on.

I hired NRG to replace one HVAC system (A/C unit and furnace), clean a second HVAC system, and install a vent from an interior bathroom fan to the outside of my house. The technicians who did the work were generally professional in nature. And as far as I can tell, the work they performed was of good quality, including the HVAC system replacement and bathroom fan vent installation. However, I had a few issues. NRG has email and text confirmation and reminders for service appointments, which is convenient, but due to miscommunication and missed expectations I had to reschedule numerous times.
The bathroom fan was marked up in price significantly, and the unit installed was too small and required drywall patching. One of the technicians also left a few small oil stains on my wood floor. Lastly, I was initially charged for another part that was never installed, but was ultimately refunded for the cost. I was unhappy with the service due to the issues above and complained. My complaints were escalated to a senior manager, who took the case very seriously and called me directly. I appreciated their attempt to work it out.

We lived in our home for 20 plus years and haven't use the chimney since about 20 years ago. My daughter in law wants to use the fireplace for Christmas this year and I needed to have it cleaned and looked at for many reasons. Jeremy was knowledgeable, clean, professional, respectful of all my questions, and worked done in a timely manner. He was straight forward with the price and was able to get me a first timer discount.
I would highly recommend NRG for work and plan to use them to clean my air conditioner ducts in the near future after completion of our kitchen remodel. I give a 5 star rating on all levels.

Get a second opinion! We were having an issue where our second floor was getting no air flow, so we called NRG for an evaluation. A technician looked in our attic and told us we needed to have all new air ducts installed and gave us an estimate of almost $3k. Luckily for us, our home warranty company only covered up to $500 and we didn't want to shell out $2500, so we decided not to use NRG.
There was some serious confusion in getting our deposit back (another story!), but ultimately they did refund our deposit (the reason for 2 stars). Fast forward to last week, we had another company come look at our unit. The technician comes down and tells us that the tubing that connects to the second floor vents was disconnected. He simply reconnected it and sealed it and it made all the difference! Here's the kicker: The solution was so SIMPLE, he didn't even charge us!
So when NRG's technician came to our house, 1 of 2 things happened: 1) the technician didn't realize the tubing was disconnected and should probably get more training in this field. OR 2) the technician DID see that the tubing was disconnected, knew it was a simple fix, but decided to try to charge us $3k on an unnecessary installation anyway. In other words, always get a second opinion!

We have had a terrible experience with NRG Heating and Air. They LIE! This company has terrible customer service! They sold us on a deal for a new AC Unit ($7000) and had someone come out to "service our current unit and replace a filter"? We'll just look at the quality of work they pride themselves on just before they try and gouge you for more money.
Look at how it's installed all bent and shoved in. It wasn't even put into the correct tray! The tech said he'd clean everything inside and out and he failed to do that. The smell was terrible when you started the AC. It smelled dirty in the house. My kids had been breathing this air! We trusted NRG and their technicians to come to our home that cared enough about quality and honesty.
This is clearly NOT the case. Please look at the pictures and read the emails that went back and forth. Not only will they not pay us back our deposit for absolutely NOTHING DONE, but the Assistant Manager even THREATENED to send us to collections for more money! Yes, he had the audacity to even claim that we still owed them for NOTHING. They didn't even step foot into our home to do one single bit of work on a new unit.
He ALSO claimed that they knew the filter wasn't put in correctly and was the wrong size but they were going to change it when they came back for the "bigger job". ANOTHER LIE. They don't take ownership of a horrible job their own worker did. We didn't even approve the job and the quote until a few days later, so please tell me how did they know they would replace the filter!?
This is utter bull. We could've declined the offer at this time for a new unit and your technician would have never come back. This complete and utter embarrassment on behalf of their owners and his manager. We'd like a refund for the deposit as well as the terrible job done prior. DO NOT HIRE NRG HEATING & AIR.

NRG reached out to me shortly after my initial review and informed me that they are changing the contract to remove the no-bad-reviews clause. (I believe I spoke with Gene on the phone, but I have an e-mail from Michael.) For some reason I cannot find the updated contract terms. Anyway, I am happy that they took my concern seriously so I am upgrading my review by one star.

I just finished using NRG for the second time in the last three months: first was a major redo of the whole house air conditioning system with two FAU's and compressors. They performed the work very quickly very cleanly and I'm very satisfied. The second was just finished a few days ago. It was the installation of four mini splits in a 100 year old house.
I couldn't use whole house heating and air conditioning because I didn't want vents everywhere. NRG designed and installed the work and stood by solving every problem that came up in the way. I am extremely satisfied and would look to them first on any HVAC type of work.

Our house was built with poor air circulation. During the hot summer months, out daughters' rooms get super hot, and to get any airflow to their rooms our master bedroom would essentially become an icebox. NRG came in and analyzed the house and gave a proposal that I was a bit leery about, because they were proposing to replace a dual-zone (2x3 ton) units with a single 5 ton unit, with 3 zones.
Fast forward, not only did they replace the ducting to increase airflow to the rooms that were lacking it, they were able to evenly distribute the airflow through the rest of the house, adding a 3rd zone, and scaling back to a 5-ton unit making the power usage much more efficient. We even turned the unit off to let our daughters' rooms get hot.
We turned the unit back on to see how quickly it would take to cool them down, and they cooled very quickly and efficiently. Plus, in the middle of the night when my wife went into the baby's room for night feeding, she said the room was chilly. Those rooms have NEVER been chilly in the summer. The crew that came in and installed the unit were very professional, they explained everything they were doing, and didn't take any shortcuts. We are extremely happy with the new system and love that it is efficient and keeps our home at the temperatures we want/set. I highly recommend NRG!

I'm heartbroken to have to write this review. I wanted to have our HVAC improved because our airflow was not great. I have no complaints about our first job with NRG. Alon came out, was very respectful, drew me a diagram of what he was going to do, and the team did just that. No issues whatsoever. Everything is still working great. I did have to have the invoice amended as it had typos, but that is not a huge deal.
When I'd called about the ducts, I'd asked about having our AC inspected. I had to wait until it was at least 75 degrees outside. When I set up this appointment, the person on the phone offered me a filter. I passed, because I don't want a free junky filter in lieu of my Filtrete allergen filters. Remember this for later. Adam showed up late, parked in our driveway without asking (very presumptuous), and immediately wanted to go into the attic.
I didn't want anything done in the attic, I just wanted the outdoor unit inspected. He insisted, and also asked me if I wanted him to repair our thermostat, which is not flush against the wall. I asked how much that would be, and he said $300, since a 15 minute job would require a 2-hour minimum. Cool, let me get out my checkbook. He went outside, never telling me what he was doing, and then asked me to pay.
Due to his complete incompetence, my card was declined, and he rolled his eyes when I told him he'd incorrectly entered the expiration date. I asked him if he was going to tell me anything, or what. He said that I should have the condenser chemically cleaned and that had I been hosing it down MONTHLY for the last 6 years I wouldn't be in this predicament.
He also tried to sell me some garbage air purification system for the attic, saying that it's necessary for Canoga Park (another eye roll). Finally, he offered me a filter that was the wrong size, and I told him I didn't want it and had told the person on the phone this. He rolled his eyes again and said it was free. Why would I want a free filter that does not fit my system? Adam made me feel extremely uncomfortable, was rude, unprofessional, and wasted my time and my money.
I doubt he would have treated me this way had my husband been home. I am not an idiot. When someone performs an inspection, he or she should tell you WHAT they are inspecting. Once I got the report from Donna, it made more sense--but why be rude and gross? I called NRG immediately and let them know i'd be following up with feedback and that I was very upset.
True to form, I received ZERO response. I am no longer their customer, and I expect that Donna will chime in with a "we can't find you in the database and why don't you give us a call and we've been in business for over 35 years" nonsense. I was really looking forward to having an HVAC servicing company in the neighborhood. I guess on the plus side I'm only out $35.

We need some work and requested an estimate. These guys came (a half hour late) and they came to my house in a work van that had a "blue lives matter" flag on the roof and a large QAnon sticker across the hood. The technician came out and I asked him what the qanon sticker meant and he said it represents his concern about child sex trafficking by certain powerful people. I just told him that I thought this kind display was very unprofessional and that I wouldn't be comfortable with him coming into my house. So bye bye!

We used NRG about 4 years ago and the service was better. They pretended to care. We're just used them last month. The work was incomplete no follow up no one knows what anyone is doing do there is no accountability. You have to call and call and they will eventually get back. HOLD THAT FINAL PAYMENT UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE. We will never use them again.

$125 later and nothing got fixed. my heater doesn't work and Adam said the thermostat had to be changed. At that point it was going to cost around $600. mind you the cost is $100 at Target for the thermostat but oh well I guess the installation is included and what can you do. I'm not a technician. As he proceeded to install the new thermostat to "fix" the issue. this did not solve the problem.
He went back up on the roof and came down with images of a bit of condensation in the HVAC. and blamed it on that. I said "you saw water before but didn't mention it and decided to switch out our thermostat". his answer was "correct". I'm like ok?! So you're saying that's the problem? He said my HVAC was missing a diagram to show how everything's connected and suggested to just switch out the whole HVAC.
I was like "Let me get this straight. your answer to everything is to just replace it? What's to say it's going to work? You replaced the thermostat and it didn't work." Well he had no answer. And that was that. so still no heat at my house and the only good thing I guess was he didn't charge the $600+. But seriously. I don't understand how anyone can call themself a professional but not really being able to diagnose what the problem is. The answer to everything can't be to just replace it!

LOL. Just wasted 5 minutes of my life talking to a senior project manager (Quality Manager Michell was not available) as Donna alluded below in her reply to ccontact them. Basically, she said she understood my concern but the service was for "safety inspection and maintenance", the air filter could not be refunded because it was "free". She will raise my concern to another level of manager.
What a joke! Don't forget, please check their work as air flow is critical to HVAC system. If filter is not installed properly and the system is not getting enough air, it could reduce the performance or the HVAC system or do damage to your system (not feeding enough air and the system needs to work harder). This is done in my own google research.
I guess Donna didn't read my review completely. I called and gave them a chance but I was told the appointment needed to be cancelled because the tech took the wrong size of filter. If I keep waiting and not changing the filter myself, it could be months before the issue will be resolved. If Donna is reading, please just refund me my money.

If it were possible to give less than one star I would do so. I leave it to the yelp user to read the dispute and determine the inexcusable lack of professionalism displayed by this entire organization. Hello Michell, Per our conversation on the phone, attached please find photos regarding damage, mess left by the crews, and timestamped screenshots of security footage of the crews not working causing additional delays to this project. 1.
To begin, this project was quoted to be by Fred to take 2 days and was to include: a new combination unit on the roof cutting one new vent into the master bath (this was not possible per the crew) removing all the insulation replacing all the ducting installing new insulation 2. Fred assured me when selling me on this service that the entire project would take only 2 days.
I have tenants, and operate a business from home. The lost revenue as the result of my inability to work in my home office is significant, in addition to the cost I incurred by having to pay for my tenants to have a place to stay while I resided in the ADU. 3. Larry, the apparent account manager, constantly insisted that he was "new here" and "trying his best" to work out completing this job in the time frame promised.
He did not. He didn't call me back several times when he committed to, most recently yesterday 9/14/20 when we spoke at 9:29am. He told me he would call me back to have the trash removed and he did not. 4. As you can see by the paint damage and filth in the attached photos, I also incurred cleaning and repainting costs for that area of my home. 5. Additionally when Fred sold me this project I was assured that I would receive photos and documentation from your staff along with completed paperwork so I could receive the rebate from LADWP.
I was told all I would have to do would be sign and send the forms into LADWP. I have received none of this. 6. I paid the deposit of $900 on 8/26/20. Today is 9/15/20 and there remains trash in my driveway, the job is STILL not completed. Overall, I am completely unsatisfied with this process. Everything that was promised when I agreed and paid the deposit for this project was not fulfilled.
I have incurred significant personal expense in needing to relocate tenants, and significant loss of business revenue as the result of not being able to work in my home office. Following this exchange I was promised by Michell Tapping for a return phone call within 48 hours, and received a return call SEVEN WEEKS LATER only for them to request I pay the balance on the account.
None of my concerns were rectified, I was left in my home during the highest recorded temperatures in Los Angeles without insulation, working ducting, or the ability to cool my home after consistent neglect and lack of professionalism. I implore you to see the photos below, and do not hire this company. Furthermore, they never made any offer to repair any of the paint or damage they left. Do not recommend.

My technicians were Dave & Steven. I just inspected the work done to add an additional return on my AC unit. The duct added is not the same size as the inlet on my AC unit, it's about twice as big, so half of the tube is pulling cool air from the return and the rest is just hot air being sucked in from the attic. I will update this post when/if the job is completed successfully.
The parts and labor are both under warranty. ***Update: I called Sunday, and again on Monday. Later on Monday I got a call back that they would contact me Tuesday. On Tuesday they asked if they could come Thursday. After seeing how the return was installed initially and the lack of urgency to finish the job I had a hard time letting them work on my home again and decided to redo the install myself.
For almost a year my family has been breathing in insulation dust, which you can see in the photos attached. We thought it was a bad year for allergies - nope, it was dust being circulated by my AC unit due to a lazy installer. NRG was defensive from the outset about the 1 star review, saying they wished I had given them the opportunity to fix the install before leaving a review.
This 1 star review is a reflection of the unfinished job after paying to have the AC return added to my home, not their ability to remedy the problem. If the issue was a properly installed return that had failed, I would happily welcome them in to honor their warranty. Unfortunately that is not the case, as the problem is an install that went lazily unfinished using the wrong parts. Hiring a crappy contractor is one thing, you can hire another next time, but when a company willfully disregards the quality of air a family breaths you have the right to be angry. There are many HVAC technicians in Los Angeles and I recommend that you choose wisely when selecting one. I did not.

My husband and I were referred to NGR Heat & Air Conditioning by another resident of our Condominium Complex. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the NRG Technician Benji that gave us the Installation Bid and then
today Felipe and his coworker came and installed our Air Conditioning units, they were very polite and did the work in a very timely and professional manner.
We would definitely recommend them and NRG Heating and Air Conditioning to others especially those that live in an HOA multi level complex. We definitely appreciate having a cool place now during our heat wave here in Southern California.

When I called NRG for an appointment, a repairman came the next day. He was able to fix my AC unit in one visit, he seemed very capable and experienced, and had brought spare parts to increase the chance that the problem might be fixed right away (& it was). He took his time while diagnosing the problem, and then he checked twice to be sure the machine was working before he left. I will definitely use NRG again and will recommend my friends.

NRG replaced my old AC and it was a big job. They had to cut up the ceiling and gut the old furnace from a closet. We ended up with more closet space. Since they moved the furnace to the attic and they cut a great attic door in. Now we have a way to store items in the attic. Who knew they would be so accommodating. The kept everything so clean and were extremely conscientious of floors walls and our comfort. If you need heat or ac work done call them quick.
