Horrible local company that I would not recommend to anyone. Let's start off with the sales person that pushes you to get the most expensive systems that do not make much logical sense. Here's one of his ideas: use one split-air unit in the master bedroom and open the doors to all bedrooms to share the cool air. What about privacy, genius?
To the technician that came to my house and asked my father why didn't he kick me out of the house since I'm old enough to live on my own. well hello there, it happens to be my house and I happen to be a responsible daughter that looks after my elderly parents. To the service manager who came to my house and deemed it "unsafe" to service after I called out how crappy a job his technicians did after installing my central air system.
But it was perfectly safe before they installed the unit and when they took my money. How bad was the installation? Just think of it as one room feeling like a wind storm while another room felt like a walk in Death Valley. And a leaked ceiling to boot. If I had to do it all over again, I would NEVER use this business. They are horrible and do not care about their quality. All they care about is money.

Jeannie was wonderful and cooperative in making an appointment, reconfirming a few days before and calling when the technician was on his way. Kyle arrived, wore his mask as requested and went straight to work, answered all my questions with non-technical jargon, cleaned up after himself, reminded us to change the return vents (and to reset the thermostat to heat!) and was on his way. Kudos to everyone at Carjon for keeping us warm in winter and cool in summer for over 25 years.

Jason V. came out recently with a colleague to tune up our AC system. He was able to diagnose a problem we were having with mold forming on ceiling around AC vents, which turned out to result not from the AC system itself, but rather from excess humidity in our home in the summer months. We were impressed both with Jason's expertise as well as his eagerness to address our concerns. He laid out steps that we should take if the problem recurs this summer, and provided a very thorough write-up of his analysis. First-rate service.

My furnace died on sunday morning and we had a carjon svc rep assess the situation sun morning with pictures. This led to discussions w service team and replacements parts were found locally and repair appt was made. However that morning we had the horrible news from our vet that we had to euthanize our 12 year old dog - the Carjon folks re-arranged our svc appt and we had our furnace back running by the end of that day.
Outside temps had dropped to below freezing so we were very appreciative of the Carjon team. Thank you guys and gals and you can be sure we will continue our relationship ongoing.

Horrible company. I waited three hours and they didn't show. I called and they said I cancelled. I did not cancel. I took the day off just to be here and I run my own business. I get that mistakes happen. However the woman said they would never have done that. Zero accountability. And their answer? I can get next available.another month out. Tired of these big companies. Stay with locals. These other companies simply don't care about losing customers.

A Carjon technician was here for our annual spring air conditioning service and, again, we have nothing but praise for the company. Knowing how busy they get, we made our appointment months early and several days ahead they called us to reconfirm, checking to be sure no one in our house was ill and reminding us to wear masks. On the appointment day, they called to let us know Steven was on the way, and he arrived minutes later. Patiently, courteously and efficiently, wearing a mask, Steven went about his work, asked some questions, asked if we had any, cleaned up and was on his way in next to no time. Friendly, helpful, efficient - you cannot ask for more, but if you did we are sure Carjon would go out of their way to provide it.

Avoid this company! They installed new central AC to my house and they didn't seal the whole where they installed the ac line. Very cheap work and unprofessional crew put my family in danger because their irresponsibility. Two months after they left we found a mouse in the house living with my 2 babies. We hired a professional company to take care of this matter and they found that Carjon crew didn't do the correct job leaving holes unsealed.
They sealed and corrected all Carjon mistakes and resolved my issue. When we contacted Carjon they were rude and tried to tell us that the company we hired lied to us. Stay away from unprofessional people who charge a lot to install an AC because your gonna end up paying thousands for a pest control company.

CARJON does not disappoint! Since purchasing my home in 2015, I called CARJON to use their yearly maintenance services. They always remind you of your yearly inspection, provide excellent customer service and show up on time! I called for an inspection and found some issues with my heating wiring. Justin was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and performed the job today with high professionalism and care. The cost of the job was very fair and well below the competing rates. I would highly recommend CARJON!

CARJON Installed my air conditioning system 12 years ago. Their work was performed timely and neatly. They were very professional and courteous. They have maintained my system with a reasonably priced service plan that provides for them to service and check the system in the spring before the air conditioning system is needed. The annual service maintenance has always been done timely, professionally and as scheduled. I have not had any service problems while under their annual maintenance service plan. Thank you CARJON! I used Carjon in 2018 to install a mini-split, and was very happy with their initial service. They were responsive and prompt, and I was quite happy with the work done during a busy time of year. Since I have had the initial installation, I have found it much harder to coordinate maintenance. Originally, I was contacted by Carjon to go over potential service options. However, after I replied I did not hear back, and another follow-up email didn't result in a response either.
I wind up thinking that it's not a big problem in the scheme of things, and would use them again if I needed something installed, but it was somewhat disappointing. Overall, their work was good quality and they were helpful in my decision making process.

Waited weeks for a salesman to come out for a quote on central ac for my home. Requested a quote for a ducted United and the Mitsubishi ductless. Then weeks go by and no quote so I call to follow up. Finally got the quote with some computer error excuse but there were two quotes for ducted systems. I called back and left another message requesting the ductless quote we talked about still waiting for for this elusive quote.
The sals rep was a my house the end of September. I guess they don't need the business. I have moved on to other Mitsubishi diamond dealers who have had no issues getting me a quote on the spot or within 24 hours.

Update 5/25/18 We moved into another house which had electric baseboard heating that cost us $1k/month to heat over the past winter. I called Carjon to come over and give me some options. Rob Lanni, the same rep that took care of us many years ago, actually remembered us from the old house. Rob is awesome. He recommended an electric mini-split system that is super efficient.
He took the time to evaluate the home and design a system that would maximize airflow and at the same time be aesthetically pleasing both on the inside and outside the home. He also pointed out major flaws with a quote we received from another plumbing and heating company. After visualizing a plan, he went to his van, brought in his laptop, books, manuals and a printer, sat at our counter and like a wizard, hammered out a detailed quote right then and there.
The quote came out to be about $1k less than our other quote. Again, the install was prompt and professional. 2 full days of specialists sweating buckets in the attic and running lines. Even Rob was there getting himself dirty. As they were wrapping up, they made sure I was satisfied and all my questions were answered. About a week after the install, I received a packet of all the necessary paperwork for a National Grid rebate. I would highly recommend Carjon with any services they provide.

Recently had my boiler system replaced with a high efficiency model; it was a big job, requiring all new piping, and existing lines to be moved. Carjon did an excellent job, and made sure everything was done correctly, neatly, and efficiently. The were very professional and friendly, and made sure to answer any questions or concerns I may have had.
When they began work, they made sure to lay down tarps to keep the floor from getting dirty or damaged, and made sure to vaccume and clean up when all work was done. They even provided me with space heaters for the couple days where the heat would not be functional while the work was completed. The crew was a pleasure to work with, the equipment is working great!

After 10 years of working with Carjon for various home needs, I can no longer endorse them in any way. Avoid this company at all costs! Since we moved to Smithfield, we identified Carjon as a reputable local plumbing and HVAC company to rely on for standard home maintenance and service. They installed our central Air. They serviced our furnace multiple times.
They have done other various plumbing and HVAC services in our home.one of which was replacing our Hot Water tank. They installed a Bradford White tank with a standard 6 year warranty in February 2012, on September 13, 2017 the tank's pilot light went out. I took the normal steps of inspection and trying to restart it, to no avail. I called Carjon.
They sent a technician out who looked further into it and said "The tank is unfortunately going and needs replacing. We installed it in 2012, so it is still under warranty. You will have to pay for labor/installation, but the tank will be replaced at no additional cost. Unfortunately, I checked the schedule and we are not free to come back until next Wednesday (9/20); you shouldn't be out of hot water that long so I can give you the name and number of another plumber we subcontract out to who can honor the warranty and hopefully do it sooner." I thanked him and replied, "Excellent, if they cannot do it sooner, then I will call the office and have you guys come on Wednesday.
You have always done great work for us and I would rather have you replace it with the same quality of service and expertise." I called the other plumber who stated they couldn't get there until the following Friday, so I called Carjon back on Friday morning.this is where things took a turn. Michelle and Carissa from Carjon emailed and called us multiple times with excuses and explanations that range from ridiculous to condescending.
Eventually we agreed to the installation price, provided a credit card number and they were to install a new tank on Tuesday morning. On Monday evening they called and cancelled the service entirely stating they were concerned we would give them bad reviews. They refused service on an under warranty product they installed because we might not like their service and give a bad review. The logic fail in this is so strong it is ridiculous. Avoid at all costs.

I cannot give good feedback, since my experience with this company is not a good one. I made an appointment on June 19, knowing that I would not have a technician at my house till July 7th, and in the mean time would run my upstairs unit to cool the whole house. I told the office staff that it might need a refrigerant charge, and the units have not had a charge in years.
The tech came and serviced the unit for the first floor, he was paid and he left. I came home from work and the unit was on and there is no cold air coming from the unit, just 75 degree air. I did not call the office of "Carjon", since we were going away for the weekend, and I did not want to schedule another visit since it still wasn't operating properly.
The office called me on July 11, and she kept insisting I schedule a maintenance visit. I explained to the office that it wasn't working and that I needed to talk to my husband to see what he wanted to do. The woman in the office stated that my units refrigerant was very expensive and would be unavailable in 2020, and that our units were old and we needed to replace them. REALLY?
At 10K a piece, and we have two units. My husband called "WESCO", they were at my home the next day. The tech fixed the unit and it did not need a refrigerant charge, but did need some maintenance, that was done while he was at my home. I would have been happy to have Carjon fix my York unit, but it didn't happen.

Thanks for wasting our time and money carjon. We recently moved into a new home that has a newer HVAC system. We are uncertain about a few things with how our system is running. We asked carjon to come out to give us a list and quote to help troubleshoot some issues. (Obviously it coasts money for them to come out to take a look)The technician told my husband to rip out this relatively new system and for them put in a brand new one. I'm sorry, the system is NEW. why don't your technicians learn how to trouble shoot through the issues! Instead they are trying to make a quick buck. not impressed. very unsatisfied customer

Stay away! Incompetent installers! Wish no stars are possible. First of all they did not do manual J calculations and install 80000 Btu furnace after I said that it looked to me that the old furnace was quite over sized for the size of my house! The new furnace cycles around 20+ times an hour- depending on the season- it means a waste of electricity to run a blower and discomfort because it is very over sized and my climate is mild.
As it turns out my house furnace should be 36 000 BTU. In addition, they insisted that I need a humidifier at a cost of $500 Do not be so gullible as I was- just new to the area and a half a mile from the ocean- a year round humidity is my problem and gas furnace produces its own humidity as its burns gas - quite a lot! I did not need humidifier after all and as a matter of fact had to install the whole house de-humidifier!
Money out of my pocket and into CarJon's. They installed my high efficiency gas furnace - and used black steel pipe as a part of acidic condensate line leading to a pump! Guess what- the metal pipe corroded after a few years and pieces fell into my condensate pump and broke it- had to be replaced- still dealing with the remnants of metal pipe embedded into plastic condensate line coming out of furnace - could not disconnect the metal pipe tail -embedded into plastic connector - in order to replace it. P.S Wrote this originally in January.
The owner promptly responded and tried to confirm that I was legit. I provided my information. The owner responded again confirming that he indeed found me being their customer. That was it! Never heard from him again. Just realized that my review was put on hold by Yelp as I have not confirmed my E- mail address- maybe this is the reason - it is easier for the company to ask new customers to write a good review to offset the unfavorable one- be aware- it is not over until you as a homeowner will realize that you have a problem, caused by the improper installation- even a few years later, so I hope that my honest review will serve as a public service announcement - stay away from Carjon.

In Dec'16 Carjon installed central air on time, on budget. Very courteous, efficient and knowledgeable crew : 5 stars. So when I had a heating issue with my gas boiler in 3/17, they were the first company I called. Experience was 1 star at best. First, I told them the boiler was messaging a faulty stack sensor and just assumed they would bring the part.
They didn't and need to return ($). They costed the part and replacement at $425. They refused to break down part and labor insisting it's a fixed price. After a few calls I purchased the part locally for $38 and then called another licensed service company to install - it literally took the technician 30 seconds. ( The sensor is readily accessible on the outside and no need to even open the cabinet ( no tool needed).
I then used the technician's time to clean the heat exchanger and due a tune up which Carjon said needed to be done which they priced at $560. It would have cost almost $1000 to use Carjon - I ended up paying about $275. //. My experience - it was like dealing with two different companies. Great A/C installation - heating service not so much.

After 10 years of running my AC system with no problems, I thought it wise to get a tune-up, and and check the system. I have changed AC air flow filters myself. I called Carjon, a local Smithfield company. After waiting 5 weeks, on May 20, 2014 a Carjon serviceman came out to do a tune-up. Following his checking on whatever is checked during a tune-up, he said refrigerant was a little low and added some. Invoice shows "system operating normally at this time".
We get some hot weather about 2 weeks later, so we ran the AC. Not cooling. I called Carjon, who sends out a different serviceman. He now says there is a leak somewhere in the system, but they don't know where. In a conversation with the owner of Carjon, he confirms that the cost for a leak search is around $800. Since we have the name and model # of my AC system, I asked about what parts might be the issue, and if we could check on availability of the most likely things, like coils, etc.
He said he would, but I did not hear back from him about that. During subsequent conversations with the owner, he seemed more leading in the direction of installation of a new AC system. Now I am headed into July and August with a broken AC system, with nothing addressed by Carjon. I have lived in Smithfield for 36 years, and have dealt with all local companies for house repairs, remodeling, maintenance contracts, and new installations. NEVER have I experienced this kind of careless customer service with such arrogance, as I have at Carjon. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and if it does break call a company other than Carjon.
We get some hot weather about 2 weeks later, so we ran the AC. Not cooling. I called Carjon, who sends out a different serviceman. He now says there is a leak somewhere in the system, but they don't know where. In a conversation with the owner of Carjon, he confirms that the cost for a leak search is around $800. Since we have the name and model # of my AC system, I asked about what parts might be the issue, and if we could check on availability of the most likely things, like coils, etc.
He said he would, but I did not hear back from him about that. During subsequent conversations with the owner, he seemed more leading in the direction of installation of a new AC system. We used Carjon Heating and Cooling (Cumberland, RI) to fix a gas furnace in February, 2014. A previous contractor had told us that many expensive parts would have to be replaced and we might as well buy a new furnace. The Carjon technician spent a lot of time troubleshooting in a cold attic and found that the problem was a high temperature limit switch that had shorted out. Kudos to that technician. Prompt, courteous and knowledgeable.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. Carjon was top notch. I had 4 other companies compe out to give quotes for a replacement heating/AC system. Carjon was the most thorough and professional they took the time to properly size the system and give options that would best fit our home. There quote, although no the cheapest was the most detailed.
They answered all my follow-up questions very thoroughly. After deciding to go with them they scheduled installation about a week later. The installation crew was very professional and the quality of their work showed. I am very satisfied with my new system, and was very impressed that Carjon followed up with the necessary rebate paperwork and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. They have defintely made me a loyal customer and would defintely recommend them to others.

Had a central AC system installed on the 2nd level and a ductless system installed on the 1st level (open floor plan) in March 2016. Install was super clean in just one day. Technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly and willing to answer tons of questions. The AC worked extremely well throughout the summer as promised. The condensing units are right outside the window near where we sit to watch TV every night and you cannot hear them running at all, just as was explained to me by the salesperson, Rob, who was also excellent to deal with and made himself available by cell always. 1 year in and the equipment is still just as good as the day we got it. Extremely pleased with CARJON. Recommended them to two coworkers who were in need of AC this upcoming summer.

Recently had my boiler system replaced with a high efficiency model; it was a big job, requiring all new piping, and existing lines to be moved. Carjon did an excellent job, and made sure everything was done correctly, neatly, and efficiently. The were very professional and friendly, and made sure to answer any questions or concerns I may have had.
When they began work, they made sure to lay down tarps to keep the floor from getting dirty or damaged, and made sure to vaccume and clean up when all work was done. They even provided me with space heaters for the couple days where the heat would not be functional while the work was completed. The crew was a pleasure to work with, the equipment is working great! I would definitely recommend them for their excellent work!
