This post is long overdue, a year ago when my AC went out in the dead of the summer Gorman Mechanical came out and replaced our entire unit. Not only were they above and beyond great customer service, they give us a heck of a deal! I am finally leaving this review because because I'm calling them out to complete another job for me. Sorry I was so late to leave them a review. They did not hesitate when it came to helping me out!

Michelle worked us into their busy schedule as we had water dripping from our ceiling! Jesse came out, was professional, and worked to solve the problem with good dialogue back and forth to ensure we were on the same page! Both of our AC Units have been updated in the last 3 years. Critical: Professionalism My grandmother used these folks for a few years. She really loved arranging things with David, but he is no longer there. They canceled twice on showing up. Way to leave an old lady hanging. If I knew how to fix it I would. Luckily we had a wonderful company come out and keep there word and give us quality customer service.

Since my review posted in 2021, Gorman Mechanical has really stepped up and been VERY responsive to meeting my needs to make sure that they sold me the proper sized unit. A big shout-out to Carl, their new service manager was instrumental in getting rid of the cancer within their organization and providing excellent communication since he was brought on in mid 2021.

Avoid this company at all costs. I used Gorman for other repairs because they were included in my home warranty for my new home purchase. Well my heating went down in the middle of January so I gave them a call to come look at it since they were familiar with my system. They sent two techs to look at the system and it took them about 45 minutes to tell me I needed a new blower motor.
They quoted me $1,150 to replace the motor including labor. I decided to get a second opinion from a more well known company in Fort Worth since the quote seemed a bit high from Gorman. One of the technicians from the well known company arrived and figured out the issue in about 3 minutes. It had nothing to do with the blower motor and was a small coil fix of about $170.
The tech even showed me the system and explained that the blower was fine and showed how it worked if he bypassed the coil. Save yourself some money and go with a different company before you overpay for something your system doesn't need.

I made the appointment to get our A/C unit cleaned. The tech was very thorough and recommended that we clean the outside of our unit every 3 months ourselves. He showed us the proper way to do this. We hired Gorman Mechanical to perform maintenance services for our home. Gorman Mechanical was quick to charge us to come service the units but then never showed on 2 occasions. After calling them again today, and reading these reviews, I felt compelled to leave this review. The customer service level is lacking. Their sense of compassion is 0. The owner (or so he claims) wouldn't even let me get a word in.
I asked for a refund and was told no as well. So much for this stand up company. I would remove the Christian symbol from your website because believe me, that's not how you treat people in a Christian like manner. All I see is scam written all over it!

I purchased a new AC unit 8/31/2020 and have had nothing but problems since! Gorman sent two men to install and I have had to call them 3 times since because the AC sounds like a freight train! They have replaced 3 main components to the TRANE AC unit in the last 3 months.
AC compressor unit still making that noise! Now I am being told its the panel in my attic & of course its not under warranty!!
I was told I would receive a call back from office manager and still waiting! Horrible customer service! Left message for owner Michael Mushegan. Hopefully the owner will make this right! If not, will be contacting TX Licensing Agency.

Gorman Mechanical took care of me when I had to 3 ton AHU that were not cooling. They found that the evaporator coils were corroded and leaking freon when my home warranty company sent them out to diagnose the issues. I was able to get two new high quality Air Handler Units at a very small cost versus replacement of the evaporator coils. The new AHUs came with a 10 year warranty each so the decision to pay the small extra charge was a no brainer. I would recommend this company to anybody in the future. Very prompt, professional, and courteous.

I purchased 2 new Trane variable speed complete systems from Gorman Mechanical. My first 5 ton unit was a great install and that's what convinced me to install a 2nd unit for my upstairs and this is where the issues began. The unit did not perform at all and they spent the better part of 3+ months trying to fix and ended up replacing my inside air handler and thermostat; which did get the unit working to it's best ability.
This is when I learned that they sold me an undersized unit and as per my salesman that Trane doesn't make 1/2 size units so they were going to upgrade me to a 4 tons unit because my previous unit was a 3 1/2 ton. 10 months later the upstairs unit continues to struggle to keep my house cooled and the relative humidity to a comfortable level. My old 15 year old unit ran better than this one.
The 2nd issue is Trane only provides a 2 year labor warranty, so I purchased an extended labor warranty to match the 10 year parts warranty. To this date I have not received my extended warranty paperwork for either Trane unit that I was sold over a year ago. Gorman Mechanical service and dispatch department have been very responsive and helpful but when it needs to involve the service manager or owner they are non existing.

5 Star Review for Gorman Mechanical. Our 20 year old AC died. Rather than patch it back up we decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new unit. After 5 bids we selected Gorman Mechanical. They had the best price and lowest pressure sales process (Michael). They installed our 5 ton 16 SEER Trane system the very next day. The installers, William and Robby, were fantastic.
They let my kids talk their ears off all day and even cut a door into the huge cardboard box for them to play in. I couldn't be happier! Highly recommend Gorman Mechanical if you have AC or furnace needs.

We had our entire central system changed out July 1st. These guys came in and did it in under 4 hours. Amazing! My attic is a crouch only space. Didn't slow them down at all. I work outside myself in all weather, but not in attics. They have my full respect for what they do. My system is perfect, and coooooold! I had several quotes. David beat my best one. Totally pleased! Awesome job guys!

We started off having a very bad experience with the tech sent out from Gorman Mechanical. A manager David was supposed to make sure everything was taken care of properly. Shorty after, the next tech came out we were still having the same problem. I was told if I had any issues to reach out to David. When the air went out shortly afterward, I reached out to David and was told he was just the service manager and to call another number to see if someone could help.
After another day without air, another tech came out and things were left in a dangerous situation and not fixed. Part of the equipment (a shroud) which is a large piece was not even put back, electrical wires were left sticking out, bolts not secured and more. A new company had to be sent out. We were told the other tech damaged our equipment, left pieces out and didn't properly replace the fan motor etc. which caused other blade issues and more problems.
He said someone could have gotten serious hurt or worse with the wires left out. In addition, the huge drain line charge we paid for recently was not done properly since it had to be done in the attic line to clear things. We were told it wasn't done which we also observed how it was done by Gorman and today. There are parts that now need to be ordered and we have been left with major problems and no air again.
We have elderly and people with health issues in our home. This has not only been terrible service but poor quality techs who did not do their jobs properly and caused more problems. Pictures will be attached if possible.

We just had our upstairs A/C unit replaced by Gorman. Gorman also replaced the downstairs unit in 2016 by the home's previous owner. They worked with us on the price and service agreement. The unit was replaced in less than a day. The crew of three was professional and cleaned up after they were done. The crew lead Curtis helped me set up the WiFi enabled thermostat. Professional and friendly customer service. All-in-all a very positive experience

Still didn't get a itemized PO then I found out that there was a rebate after the fact. Seems fishy. So new system is finally working right after the guys came out for the 6th time to fix their mistake. They glued a plug in the main drain line. ( leaking water into my attic) Yes you read that right. Poor management and dishonest. If you are a nations home warranty unfortunately you are stuck with these guys.

This company is out to get your money. The told me my entire system would need to be replaced. Ended up being a cheap fix. They also try to scare customers about the government stopping production on a certain type of Freon, but other companies can convert your unit to the new Freon for a couple hundred bucks.

I purchased a home in Denton in June and was given this company's name to call from Nations Home Warranty for routine seasonal checkup. Jesse did a complete and very thorough checkup on the two HVAC systems and took the time to explain it to me. In October I decided to purchase a custom air filter from HiTech Air Solutions and needed a A/C repairman to install it.
I called Gorman Mechanical and paid them for the work. Jesse and Curtis did a great job installing it. Most recently I decided to have a furnace added to my upstairs unit as it was only A/C. Again I chose Gorman Mechanical to do the work and they exceeded my expectations. The work was excellent and the price reasonable. They explained the process well and I felt confident using this company. I'd like to add the same technician (Curtis) returned to address a high-pitched sound coming from the new custom air filter and helped me troubleshoot it quickly.
He used a little silicone to repair two tiny cracks that was allowing air to flow through. This company has become my local HVAC service company of choice. I'll be calling them for a new until soon as I'm expecting to need to replace it in a year or two as it is 26 years old!

We had our AC go out on a Thursday. Talked to David and he took extremely good care of us. Had our whole new system installed the following Tuesday. David was in contact with me every step of the way. Installers were polite and professional. David even checked in with me days after the install was complete to make sure everything was going good. I'm happy to say that my house has never stayed so cool and comfortable. These guys are amazing. You will not be disappointed. We called Gorman for a quote on a new unit as ours decided to go out in this Texas heat. The Sales Director David Hart was fantastic and we had our new unit installed in one day. The installers, Felix and Brandon did amazing and were extremely professional and on time! Additionally, ever person we spoke to were very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. So this post takes the place for the call back that I was promised? Of course this all sounds good on your part. The problem is that I was never given the option to replace the problem, I was only quoted for a new complete unit and I expresses this to you on Saturday. Where you then assured me you would have look into my file and call me on Monday which never happened.
This makes it seem like I never attempted to question this before now, however I did inform you of my previous attempts and your office as well as Nations insisted there was nothing they could do. Also Nations insisted that you guys came back the next day and I was charged a service call which also never happened, they came the first day and installed everything no one ever came back another day.
So therefore your company got paid for another service call that never happened I had to get that corrected on my account which the lady in the office agreed it was error on Gorman, would fix it and reach back out to me which but she never did. I gave up and contacted Nations to have that resolved.

My experience is close to the other comments listed. Came out and really didn't diagnose the issue with the AC being out, but was quick to say it was ok and suggested $4000 in upgrades to make it run more efficient. Whe Looking at 2nd opinions as Nations will only work with Gorman. Response to David: we actually spoke directly before I posted this review, and I think we agree that upgrades were suggested by you. I'm not discounting your explanation of the upgrades. However, my review is merely that I believe that the service was inadequate due to the AC still not working and I believe my experience is quite similar to the other feedback you have received on Yelp. Since Nations segregates their customers to only using Gorman we decided to invest in a 2nd opinion outside of Gorman to perform another diagnosis of the unit.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I Just had Gorman Mechnical out to my house to do a standard maintenance call on my Air Conditioning unit. This was the MOST unprofessional service visit I have ever experienced. He shut off all of my Air Conditioning and told me there wasn't anything he could do to help me. He left me without any cooling and I live in Texas where it is VERY hot.
When I tried to resolve this with there office I was told they would not come out to correct whatever they did to turn off all of my Air Conditioning units. This was a referral from a warranty company and I put in a complaint on the company and I have another company coming out tomorrow but today it feels like a furnace in my house and I have no way to cool it off. Thanks for nothing Gorman. STAY AWAY from this company. If they come out to work on anything at your home you will live to regret it.

They were called by our home warranty company. They offered to come next day but came second day after my call at my request. Quickly showed me the issues with our AC unit and went over our options. We decided to replace our air handler and outside unit. This was all on a Friday, they were able to perform the installation next buiness day on Monday which went fairly quick and smoothly.

Do not use this company and ensure that your home warranty company does not use them as a vendor. Our home insurance warranty company used them to repair the the HVAC system in our new home when the inspector found the Air Conditioner wasn't working. Gorman did a "bandaid" repair on the system to get it running long enough for us to close on/buy our home.
The week we moved into our new home the air conditioning ran for about two hours and then stop running. We called our realtor and insurance company (Nations) Who then called Gorman to come back out and look at the system. The technician told my husband. Point blank. That he was the one who had done the "Band-Aid repair" (his exact words) on the system so he knew that in order to make it run we were going to need either a) a whole new system for $10,000 or b) new coils for $3000.
The coils were complete rusted through and all of the coolant had leaked out. So basically. This brilliant technician is confessing to fraud. Doing a crappy superficial "fix" to get some money out of the seller. knowing full well that Nations would just call them back in to fix/get MORE money from the buyer (us) at some point down the line. We complained to Nations who said "sorry. that is the company who does all of our repairs". so at this point.
We have no choice but to submit to getting screwed by this abhorrent company. I don't know if Nations is also in on the scam but it is disgusting that I have to allow these "gentlemen" in my home today. Beware of Nations and Gorman. I am somewhat convinced that my realtor/the seller were not complicit in this so I will not mention them.

I called Gorman Mechanical on a Saturday to repair my A/C unit during a very cold night, especially considering I have small kids. Unfortunately, they are not open on Sat's unless you elect to pay an additional fee. No problem! I agreed to pay the addtl fee. Upon the tech arriving to my home, he made a diagnostic and communicated to me that he needs to purchase a part to repair my system, however, the supply store is closed on Saturday.
He stated he will have the office call me on Monday to schedule another appointment. I called the tech for additional questions approx. 2 hour following his departure. At that time he communicated that I could have paid an additional amount for the supply store to open on a Saturday. I asked the tech to help me to understand why this was not communicated to me during his visit?
His reply was, "Well most clients don't want to pay extra just for the store to open!" I replied, that I would have GLADLY paid an additional amount in order for the store to open because my small kids cannot sleep in a cold home. Finally after hearing from Gorman Mechanical on Monday, they scheduled another appointment on Tuesday with an alternate technician.
Per this tech, the initial tech ordered the incorrect part and my family will be without Heat for an additional 2 days until the correct part is in the office. This would have resulted in me NOT having heat for 5 days, even after they charged me over $100 for emergency service. I elected to cancel! Called another company who successfully repaired my heating unit the same day at a competitive cost. I will never ever, NEVER call Gorman Mechanical again! Total rip-off! I was charged full price despite my several complaints due to lack of service. Very poor service!

Finally after hearing from Gorman Mechanical on Monday, they scheduled another appointment on Tuesday with an alternate technician.
Per this tech, the initial tech ordered the incorrect part and my family will be without Heat for an additional 2 days until the correct part is in the office. This would have resulted in me NOT having heat for 5 days, even after they charged me over $100 for emergency service. I elected to cancel! Called another company who successfully repaired my heating unit the same day at a competitive cost. I will never ever, NEVER call Gorman Mechanical again! Total rip-off! I was charged full price despite my several complaints due to lack of service. Very poor service!

Recently purchased a new Trane AC unit on June 25, 2015 from Gorman Mechanical., air stopped working July 11. Called them on Monday July 13 due to AC not working, failing to reach cooling temperatures during the day. They did send someone out on Tuesday, July 14 to fix the problem. After working on the unit AC began working. When I pressed him to determine the cause of the problem, he shrugged it off as a computer problem.
Guess what, on Friday July 17, 2015 at 5:21pm, my AC stopped working again.they close at 5:00pm, so I reached the answering service who said Gorman will contact me on Saturday.today.to be continued.so far after spending thousands of $$$ we still don't have air, I am still positive they will resolve this issue without them putting a tech on site to fix it every weekend.

The technician misdiagnosed a problem with my air conditioning unit as an electrical issue. After having another company come check the issue, it was determined to be an AC issue and was resolved. I called Gorman four separate times to let them know that the issue was misdiagnosed, leaving several voice mails for Chris, the manager (who did not return any voice mails), whose only response once I finally got a hold of him to my complaint was, and I quote, "Nobody's perfect".

We have been getting Gorman Mechnical services for the past six years. We have had our air handler, outside compressor, and duct work replaced by Gorman with no problems. Every year, through our warranty company, they come out and check up on the HVAC system and make thoughtful recommendations about our needs. In addition, the technicians that come out are helpful and honest. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing HVAC repairs.

Gorman Mechanical installed a new heating and AC (Heat Pump) system in 2010 and we have regular maintenance checks performed every Spring and Fall. Scheduled the service call and was able to get the first call of the day. Stacy arrived at the scheduled time, was thorough, informative, professional and knowledgeable. In 6 years we have had numerous techs service the unit, but none have provided the level of information that Stacy provided. Will ask for him for future calls. Thanks Stacy, thanks Gorman.

Update 11/3/17: David at Gorman contacted me last night about my issue with my service. I explained the circumstances, and he did some digging. We came to a reasonable agreement, to get another tech out to fix my heat and AC. And that they did! Bravo David. In spite of Nations Home Warranty, they did. That review that says its posted by Chris McGlasson was not.
It was posted by me. Raymond Taff. Screwed over royally by Luke, Gorman Mechanical and Nations home warranty. My wife and 4- yr old grandson are sitting home with no heat, air conditioning or circulating air thanks to them. Another AC company is coming tomorrow. Don't use Gorman. Its a crapshoot!

I found Gorman through our home warranty program when we moved to Dallas and I'm so glad we found them! Superb service every time, discussions about the right solutions for us at the right time, not strong arm tactics to just sell the most expensive solutions - they really are the best and I would highly recommend them (and have) to my friends and family in the area.
