We were told they will water heater drain. after the drain they told me that the valve has started leaking and will cost $400 and no hot water till tomorrow. we went to home depot bought ghat valve for $11 and changed ourself in 5 minutes. note :i received call from the owner and told me that he will make some changes in future. that shows that owner is responsible man and follow up if there is any complaint and trys to improve it.

We regret that we must inform others of the service failure we experienced with J & J Services. On October 1st we had a representative from J & J Services to our home to replace a part on our hot water heater they had deemed broken at a past visit. To change out the part, the hot water heater had to first be drained. Their service provider set up his equipment and extended his hose out to our lawn where he had planned to empty the water from the heater.

A few moments after he began, I started hearing water dripping, but thought it must be coming from the actual hot water heater and since the repair person was there with it, everything must be going as planned. Unfortunately, I realized that the water was no longer a drip, but a pour and it had to be coming from somewhere other then the closet that holds the heater.

Upon inspection I noticed water in the hallway on the opposite side of the house which led me to find the source. Once I entered one of the bedrooms, which we use as an office, I realized the gravity of the situation. Water was draining from the air conditioner vent, as well as the ceiling fan and down through the light switch on the wall. I ran outside to let the gentleman know what was happening and he immediately turned something off that stopped the flow of water coming from the ceiling except for the remnant trickle remaining in the attic. J & J Services representative and I rushed to get buckets to catch the dripping water, and I put towels down in the hall where the water was pooling.

I then started removing items from my office that were not directly under the flowing water, to prevent them from getting ruined. While I was trying to salvage my things, J & J started to collect his equipment before he even wanted to see what the reason for the flooding might be. Once he got guidance from his company, he asked to go into the attic to investigate.

The entrance is in one of the bedroom closets, so I had to empty it hastily before he could even set up his ladder. Once he poked his head into the opening of the attic, he said that he was going to have the repair crew come out and take a look, because he was too big to fit through the small opening and too old to crawl around up there. I did not question him about that knowing that he is a qualified hot water heater service provider and I know nothing of the sort.

He did inform me before his abrupt departure, that we would be without hot water for the entire weekend because it was Friday afternoon, and he wouldn't be back until at the earliest Monday. An inconvenience for sure, but after watching the water that had just poured from my ceiling, I wasn't sure we would even be able to stay in the house let alone shower.

Not long after the first J & J employee bolted from our home, the repair team arrived. They were extremely nice and empathic to our predicament. They got right up into the attic, looked for the reason of the flood, inspected the damage it had caused, and even made sure we had hot water again. At no point had we heard from the owner of J & J or a manager, we simply worked with the representatives that were there.

Lucky for all involved we know someone who is a Restoration Specialist who deals with flood and fire damage as a profession. He came out that evening with water moisture readers and took readings of every area of the room, including places that we were sure were not affected just to get an accurate idea of where the damage is located. He also started placing air mover fans and dehumidifiers throughout the hallway and room to try and prevent mold from growing.

We lived with the fans going 24/7 for a week and a half and had moisture readings daily to track the progress. All of this to ensure that the room was not a total loss, and still no one from J & J reached out. We are so fortunate that so much was salvaged, but of course not everything could be saved. We finally had to contact the owner of J & J Services ourselves to see how they wanted to proceed, either privately, or if they wanted to make an insurance claim. Unfortunately, our request to get their help has been met with complete denial of any wrongdoing.

It is unacceptable and disappointing that now we must take additional steps to try and resolve this problem. We are simply seeking replacement of the damaged items, such as carpet, the now bowing ceiling, the still wet wall, etc. We now feel as though we are left with no choice but to seek assistance from the Contractor's Licensing Board, Better Business Bureau, perhaps legal advice, and social media.

This review was for J&J Heating and Air in Pleasanton. Please ignore the following review for J &J Services. NOT FOR J&J SERVICES-I requested a bid to replace all my ducting, new furnace and air conditioner. The bid was excellent and less than many other contractors. I would have selected J&J Air but the requirement was 50% payment at contract signing.

I mentioned this was against the Calif State contractor's law. The pre-payment is 10% or $1000 whatever is less prior to contract signing. The sales person said they are instructed to obtain as much money from potential customers as possible up-front. Many people are not aware of this law and felt they were taking advantage of many unsuspecting people.

I did not select them for this reason because not sure what other tactics maybe used during the installation process. They have an excellent value proposition i.e. price and product but not complying Calif. contracting law is does not give me a great feeling.

Called them a few weeks ago and they had someone come out the next day, cool. Whoever they sent out turned off my whole unit (didn't tell me that he did) He told me that the wiring was bad and that's why my ac wasn't working and wasn't turning on (thought that was weird because my heater was just working but I let him go on) he said that I would need a whole new unit installed because it was so old and that's why it wasn't working (all I needed was a new thermostat but I let him go on lol) They sent me an estimate for repairs, for them to re install my wires or install a new unit which I did not need.

One total came out the $900 and some change and another $11,000 and some change. When all I needed was a new thermostat my dad called someone else to come out and that's when I found out that whoever they sent over turned my whole damn unit off, nothing was wrong with the unit and all I needed was a new thermostat. Solved my issues within 10 mins. Thanks for turning off my shit off without telling me

I won't use anyone else! J & J is the best heating and air company around! Most importantly they are honest and fair. As a single woman and home owner, I've been taken advantage of countless times by other companies. It's heartbreaking what some people will do for a buck. With J & J- I know and trust what they tell me and they've saved me money. Carlos called before he arrived, was on time and did a great repair job. They needed access to our attic to make a repair to our AC unit, so I set up a catwalk and lights in our attic to make it more accessible for them, and they still stepped between the rafters and fell through our ceiling right in the middle of our kitchen. now our new freshly painted house has a huge repair patch in the center of our living space. On top of that, they didn't even notify us that this incident happened, we didn't get a service report showing that the repair was even made, they didn't clean up all the attic insulation that fell into our house and the mess from the drywall they cut in our driveway, and our AC unit won't even connect to the thermostat now so we can even use it!

And now they're fighting with us because they don't want to pay our painter to retexture and repaint our ceiling that they damaged. It also took them over a month to even make the repair to our AC in the first place, supposedly because the part was on back order, but then they got the part in and never notified us until we called asking what was taking so long. Be careful who you hire

We have a home warranty but they were unable to get out to service our AC for over a week. Called J&J HVAC based on recommendations. They were able to come out in 2 days and got our AC up and running. Carlos was very professional and explained exactly what was needed. It cost us about $100 more than the home warranty company would have charged us but well worth it.

We received service from a local company and we feel more confident in the service we received then from an out-of-area company. Thank you J&J HVAC for the excellent service.

Absolutely love these guys! I had a couple of quotes from some big name companys and let me tell you the big name just meant a bigger commission for the guy selling the service. I knew I needed a whole new system, heating air conditioning and duct work. When I called J&J and had them come out they told me they could either save me quite a bit of money by doing an equivalent system or I could stay at the same price and just upgrade to something way more efficient.

Not really a hard choice since summers here are quite miserable and expensive if your system is inefficient. Upgrade for sure. I was already planning on spending that much since it seemed like I didn't have a choice until these guys came by. It's not cutting corners since permits are involved and inspectors have to come out after. They are the same inspectors for the big companies.

Now I have an extremely efficient system for years to come and I am not one bit worried about those 105 degree days. Not only that but they live up to the V in HVAC. They also installed some much needed bathroom fans and hooked up the over the stove microwave while they were here, where all the big names said they don't do that.are you kidding me?

How do you call yourself and HVAC companie and not do ventilation fans? Thank you guys for all you hard work and quick response! We couldn't be happier with our new system.

I am a little late writing this review but last year when our AC went out we called a few people and they were charging a lot more money than we expected. My husband called J&J and they came out free of charge, detected the problem and quoted us way less than the other companies. The owner was very professional and friendly. We were very happy with the service provided. I recommend anyone looking for service to call J&J.

Not sure about pricing since our property manager had to foot the bill BUT they were great. Arrived on time, friendly, fast and professional. When I do buy a home I will keep them in mind and I highly recommend.

Very professional and Fast!, I called and they were able to fit me in within and hour. The previous company I called could not figure out the reason why a newly installed water heater wasn't working? Within 30 minutes the technician located the problem. He was very patient and thorough. Taking the time to show us exactly what the problem was. Excellent customer service, caring for the needs of the customer as, (there had been no hot water for over a week!)

Should have written this 5 months ago after the tech who came out (Mike?) saved us over $3000. We called a company our neighbor used & the tech was really nice but spent about 2 minutes looking at our system before saying "it's $3,700 to fix the problem or $14,000 for a whole new system which is a better investment seeing yours isn't as efficient as the newer modern models".

They called every day to ask if we were ready to have our system serviced and/or upgraded; it was quite annoying & getting hot due to know air conditioner so a day before we decided to use them, I called a few friends to ask for any referrals. Two suggested J&J so we thought we would at least see if they would come out (we live pretty far from Galt) The tech from J&J spent over 20 mins on our fan/blower that no longer turned.

He was able to get it running again after using whatever spray he had & manually moving it back & forth. Then he told us the computer board part that sends signals to turn the fan on was broken, and he ordered one & drove back the next day to install it. We were elated this tech spent the time to fix our unit rather than just telling us an exorbitant amount was needed.

Why the first company wanted to charge almost 6x as much is beyond me. I'm thinking big company-big charges? At this point I'd call J&J and wait weeks for them to check my system instead of using anyone else. Honesty over a fast EXPENSIVE fix any day!

I had an unpleasant experience with a J&J HVAC Co. from Lodi/Galt area. Service tech was rude and flippant. I responded unkindly to his attitude and when he left I no longer had heating to my home whereas I had had heating immediately prior to his arrival. Coincidence or retaliation? 3/14/16 Update: I have received a couple of communications from a 'Jason' regarding this rating, he states there is another heating and air company in Galt with a similar name.

So let me clarify that the owner of the home I was buying contracted the services of said company, his real estate agent told me the company name and the service techs name was Jason

The service Tech Showed up in a well marked van and uniform and I was very impressed with his professional knowledge and bieng able to explain it to me so I understood him. When he gave me the quote to fix my heater I was very happy to see it was a very fair price compared to ther companies I called. I will call them from now on for all my needs.

I have a hard time believing any of their workers are trained or certified. That might be a good thing to find out next time their called for service. i had J & J out to replace my "old and inefficient" air conditioning system out this summer with a newer york system. After about two weeks of complaints from me did they finally get the problems right (while blaming it on their "good house keeping awarded equipment." At least in the long run my house was cooling ok. Very frustrating. I feel if you call yourself "factory trained" you sure better be it.

Air conditioner quit cooling in the middle of the last heat wave. Always hard to get service when everyone is so busy, but Jason came out right away, diagnosed the problem and returned in a couple hours with the part. Working great now. The prices are also great too, since we had the same part replaced 3 years ago with a different company for much more.

I am very pleased and happy I called J & J Heating & Air. I called several companies and they were the only ones that could come out the same day. My unit was making a funny noisy. The service tech Mike was professional, figured out the problem and explained to me the need for regular maintenance. I was expected a large bill and I was surprised on how reasonable the bill was.
