Was looking to have AC installed at my home and Hussey Bros was recommended to me by another company that only does maintenance and repair. The person Hussy Bros sent to provide me a quote was unresponsive, unknowledgeable, and unprofessional. I ended up going instead with Shepherd's Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning who ended up being much more knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. I would highly recommend going with Shepherd instead of these people.

Worked with Kyle in the initial proposal phase--which was competitive and more reasonable than the other quote. Once we accepted their proposal, they completed everything in three and a half days. The installation crew was professional and courteous, really liked their can-do will-do attitude, they worked around the house constraints well.

The most wonderful customer service and staff I have ever encountered with a business. I called Hussey and spoke to Edith. She was very pleasant and scheduled a time the following week to have Kyle come out to look at our old furnace. Kyle was prompt and efficient in accessing our needs for a replacement. To my surprise, he let me know that there had been a cancellation in the morning for the following day and asked if I was available to have my new unit installed then. Unfortunately, I had to work.
He replied "No problem, you can leave a key and we will do the work for you". What a pleasant surprise! I came home that night and my system was installed and working! I had asked if it could be hooked up to my Nest system, but upon arriving home it wasn't. I called Edith and she got in touch with my installer and unfortunately my Nest was not compatible and that I could remove it.
I replied that I did not know how to remove it and put the new one up. She said "No problem, we will send the installer "Mike" back out to do it for you. I was so impressed because most businesses will either charge you for them to come back out or simply say it is the owners responsibility to remove. The customer service was 150% from start to finish! Since the weather had been wet and cold, I was beyond appreciative that they got it installed and up and running. I highly recommend Hussey Bros., Inc.!

Needed to have my aging heating system checked out, including the ductwork in the crawl space. Hussey Brothers was recommended to me by another HVAC company. Hussey Brothers' courteous office staff scheduled an inspection right away. Their tech arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection. He then provided a clear, credible explanation of the current condition of the heating system. It turns out no work is needed at this time. Whenever repairs/replacement are needed in the future, these are the people I will hire.

Hussey Bros had installed a heater for me at another place 7 years ago. So when our heater at our current house went out of order in late Jan, I called Hussey Bros; their tech came promptly to diagose the issue and provided quotes for both repair and new installation. Due to COVID, there was long wait for many service providers and parts. I went with Hussey Bros because of their good track record and that they can come to install the heater quickly.
I was happy with the installation. My Hussey Bros experience did not end there. The past weekend when I tried to change the filter, a vacuum cleaner attachment fell into the duct above the heater; I called Hussey Bros & they were able to dispatch a tech promptly to resolve my problem. As a consumer in this community, it is inspirational & comforting to know that one of the finest family-owned businesses in this area is taken care of by the young generation, and that upholding the traditional culture of excellence in product, service and technical know-how is company-wide (from front office to the backend technical staff.)

We were recommended to use Hussey Bros. by another HVAC vendor. Our experience with them has been superb. We worked with Kyle to get an estimate on a heat pump. (Side note: the reason we wanted a heat pump instead of only an air conditioner is because we're concerned about climate change, and our furnace was already 20 years old. We no longer want to generate more carbon into the atmosphere. Moreover, we expect that the price of natural gas might increase in the future if there is a price on carbon someday) Kyle quoted us a very good price on a Mitsubishi 3.5 ton heat pump.
He did a quick visual inspection of our setup and thought that it would accommodate the heat pump. However, when his team came to install it, they realized that our townhouse, which was built more than 20 years ago, was not set up so that they could easily install the Mitsubishi heat pump. It needed two insulated lines (pipes carrying the refrigerant) because Mitsubishi reverses which line is cold and which is hot in the summer versus the winter.
For our townhouse, in order to insulate the other line, they would have to probably break down some walls to run those lines properly, which would have cost more money and more delay. They came up with a creative solution: they could install a different heat pump that did not require both lines to be insulated. However, the next problem was that the heat pump they wanted to install used an air handler that also needed a 220-volt electrical line, and we were out of space on our electrical panel. So, Kyle and his team came up with yet another solution: they could install a regular furnace, which used a regular 110-volt electrical line, but which would simply act like an air handler and only burn the natural gas in cases where the heat pump would fail (which should ideally be never). So, we definitely give hats off to Hussey for their creativity.
On top of that, however, they were willing to absorb the extra cost of the equipment. They provided us a 20-SEER Amana heat pump instead of the original Mitsubishi one which was 16-SEER, but they didn't charge us extra because they wanted to take responsibility for not anticipating the complications. So, in our eyes, they went way above and beyond their normal obligations and provided us a great solution. We highly recommend them!

Hussey Bros technicians were always very professional and friendly, always arrived on time and did a great job installing our hvac units. The office staff communicated regularly with me and always let me know when the technicians were coming to my house and the status of the job. They coordinated with my contractor to make sure everything was done on schedule. Thank you Hussey Bros!

Hussey Bros has provided excellent follow-up service for their work, even across changes in ownership of the property. I also want to call out that especially Michael, a technician, went above and beyond in helping me sort things out. Context: I recently bought a condo that had just gotten AC installed. My neighbor told me it seemed like maybe my AC unit was not properly attached (it turns out that it was fine).
So I contacted Hussey Bros (whom the prior owner had hired) to see what they could do I was a little nervous, especially since I wasn't the person that hired them originally. I was happy when they informed me that their customer service extended across ownership, and were more than happy to check it out. I think I ended up calling them a zillion times because I kept forgetting to ask for things (e.g. copies of the original invoices, manuals for the unit, history of the work).
Through it all, they were very patient (I might have been annoyed if I were on their end!) and always helpful. Michael, the technician, was great. He texted me to let me know when he was coming. One day, his vehicle wasn't started, but was sure to text me to let me know and asked for a better time. Because the AC unit is located in a place that is only accessible through my neighbor's unit, I asked for, and Michael sent me, a zillion photos of the work.
He carefully walked me through and explained how the unit was correctly bolted in. He helped me clean up a bunch of debris in the area (it's on the roof), and even came back to add noise dampeners at no cost to me. Great service, thank you Hussey Bros!

Hussey Brothers installed our original system and it worked well. We started having some trouble after 10 years when the Heater wouldn't switch on. I checked the error code and called Hussey to have them come out. Problem 1 - The appointment was for 8 AM. I called them at 8:30 wondering why they hadn't shown up. They then said that the appointment was for a later time then 8:00.
The tech showed up at 8:45 The tech, Tien, I think his name was, quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad control board. He took down my email and said I would receive a a receipt. Problem 2 - At about 2 PM I called having never received a receipt OR a quote to repair the system. Problem 3 - The quote was high, and didn't break out the labor and parts cost.
I had the work done by another firm. It took them one hour to change out the board and I saved about $400.00 Bottom line - Sloppy administration and follow thru and their quoted repair cost was on the high side. The tech was good and professional. I'm not so much impressed with the others that I dealt with.

Derek and Haini completed our full ac+furnace replacement with skill and care. Great communication at all times, and they just got on with it with no fuss. Masks and face covering were always worn, they used drop cloths to keep our indoor floors clean. They even finished the job before the scheduled date, which was a nice surprise. A very thorough tidy up before they left, too. Installed equipment works great. Recommended.

5 stars for sure for Jose's service. My ecobee reported a few alarms for my AC system in the morning, a few weeks ago, and I called Hussey Bros to take a look. I had an immediate answer and the same day service. Jose came to my house as scheduled, carefully examined the full system, and reported all the problems he found. Fortunately, nothing serious, and he quickly fixed all of them, as well as some potential future ones. Today is very hot and my AC runs like a charm, so I come back and write this review for him.

We called Hussey Brothers yesterday for help with a commercial HVAC problem in our 60,000 square foot building, and I got a response almost immediately. The speed of getting back to me was impressive all on its own. One of their technicians already paid us a visit this morning and rapidly found the issue and fixed it while he was here. I have never had such fast, professional service. Paul was the technician and was very professional and friendly. This was our first time using these guys, and I am so happy we did! I would totally recommend them.

Great Communication, and on time for all parts of the job. My HVAC install took 2 days and now my house is cool and comfortable just in time for the next heat wave. The installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves when done. They were also available in a short time frame, which was great.

I installed my first A/C unit (Mitsubishi ductless) in the upstairs room. It's made a huge difference. Temps were consistently getting into the mid 80's to mid 90's during the summer prior to the new A/C. I couldn't be happier. Installation was very smooth and well done. The overall sales process was easy and straightforward. I had multiple quotes. I made the right decision in going with Hussey Brothers. They've been attentive, informative and competent. They were also the most competitive.

I phoned Hussey Brothers to come out to take a look at my air conditioner. Paul came out, troubleshot it, couldn't find a leak but tightened the service valve caps saying that a small leak was probably the issue. At this point in time, my thought was that he didn't seem to want to spend the time to do a thorough job to find the problem (I didn't like his attitude either).
He then charged the system but within a week or two the Freon leaked out causing the unit shut down again; I paid $525.78 for this. I then phone Hussey Brothers again. They sent out another technician. His name was Thien. He tried to find the leak but only spent about 10 minutes investigating. I told him that there has to be a big leak but he said that his detector didn't detect anything and that he didn't have enough nitrogen to perform a thorough test.
For what reason was he sent? This was a waist of his time and mine. He did however, decide to quote me repairs that had nothing to do with the Freon leak. He said that the fan, contacts and service valve needed to be changed estimating the cost to be $2,194. He also quoted a new system at $6,857. That was a big increase in cost and it seemed suspect.
For this reason I called out another company. The tech found the leak, repaired it, evacuated the system and charged it. The cost was $500 and the unit has been operating for about 6 weeks without any issues. I then contacted Hussey Bros to explain the situation and asked for a full refund. They offered credit for future repairs. I said I didn't want them back and with good reason.
To resolve the issue, I offered a compromise to credit me half of what they charged me since I didn't want to hassle with taking them to small claims court. They said that I should have phoned them a 3rd time to see if they could repair it. I told them that after the two service calls and a huge increase in cost, I didn't have confidence in their ability to fix the problem and that they probably would have wanted to charge more to investigate the problem further. Buyer beware is my take on this.

Had a great experience installing our new Norlake walk-in cooler, from beginning to end, with the team at Hussey Brothers! Erica and Corinna helped get the quoting process and installation appointment set up over the course of a few weeks while we waited for the equipment to arrive. Paul would be our installer and is their master refrigeration tech.
He brings over 30 years of experience. The unit was supposed to arrive in two pallets on Monday and our install appointment was Tuesday. We didn't give more cushion because the equipment would be left outside our location overnight and we didn't want it to potentially be outside for multiple days due to safety reasons and rainy weather. And then, of course, the terrible thing happened. FedEx made an error with our freight delivery. we only got the cooler box on Monday, and our compressor was declared lost according to FedEx.
We went through a lot of potential options including waiting to reschedule for another day, but we had already planned to close our restaurant on Tuesday and gave our employees the day off. Not to mention Hussey Bros cleared their schedule for an all-day install with us. It would be hard to get customers on their calendar and they would have missed out on some revenue.
But Paul stayed calm cool and collected, suggesting that we could keep our appointment and install the box, then if the compressor showed up on Tuesday we can put it up. but if not, when it shows up he'll come finish the job. We really didn't want the latter to have to be the case, but forced ourselves to be ok with it if that's what would end up happening. Fortunately, the compressor showed up on Tuesday morning and Paul was able to get the job all done in one day as originally planned.
He did an excellent job and we were so happy we went with Hussey Bros and Paul for our refrigeration needs. Definitely will put them on the top of our list for future maintenance and issues with our walk-in and other fridges. Thanks again Paul and team!

I will not let anyone but Hussey Brothers work on my heating and air conditioning units. Their technicians are top notch and I know I am in good hands with them. Most recently they did my bi-annual tuneup and also replaced a very old thermostat. I am all set for the summer season. If anything comes up, they make every effort to get out to help as quickly as possible.
They charge a little more than some of the other companies, but it is worth it because they will not try to sell you something you don't need. And the quality of their work is very good. So happy I found them!

Can't thank these guys enough for such a quick turnaround in installing a Mitsubishi split unit. We were able to survive the last few weeks in comfort. The guys that came out to install were great and knew what they were doing. I would definitely recommend! Prices by far were the most reasonable for what we were getting done.

This is a company that believes that they are working for me! After getting four quotes for installing a mini-split system, we chose Hussey Bros based on their reasonable price and the outstanding customer service provided to us by their Comfort Consultant JJ. JJ met with us several times during the quote process to answer all our questions and to help us problem solve the unique challenges our Eichler home offered.
During installation, Scott and David and their team treated our home with great care and answered the numerous questions that my wife and I had on details. They made every effort to accomodate all our preferences. They completed the job ahead of schedule. They trained us on how to operate it and it works great. I proudly recommend Hussey Bros to all my neighbors.

We have needed to call Hussey Bros over the last 14 years for occasional issues with our AC and furnace. Each and every time they arrive on time, are very thorough, fix the problem and charge a very reasonable price for their time spent with repair, are polite, and clean up after themselves. Sometimes they are super busy, but if an opening comes up they always call to say they come earlier if wanted.
They even take time to answer questions we have about our system and how we can try problem solving/fixing on our own in the future. We've never been disappointed and will continue to call them for future service needs.

Excellent for companies. Our backs were against the wall when our hired person did not show-up for work. I frantically called all over -- no one works week-ends -- including Hussey Bro's! But Steve then asked me for details on the project, and even though it was 3pm on a Friday, said he'd ask his team to see if they'd be willing to come-out on their week-end.
No extra charge save for usual over-time. His team did. They worked their SAT so we could install a fan for the incoming inspector. Covering for the company that didn't show-up. Even with overtime it was less than the bad guy. :p We passed inspection. Our company then continued using Hussey Bro's for AIR CONDITIONING. I like their approach; he gives us the low-end and high-end of fixes, and then let us choose what worked best within our budget.
Only downside is they're very busy. Even with such a busy schedule however they do squeeze you in. They'll let you know if it's a quick can-do - or exactly how much time it'll be before they can get to it. Top notch professional. I've weighed the rates with other locations and for our company this one is cutting edge at the time of this review.
We'd asked our handyman to replace our existing thermostat with a Nest (something he told us he'd done many times). He did so incorrectly and actually caused our heat to stop working completely! After doing a quick search in our neighborhood group list archive, we saw recommendations for Hussey Brothers. We called Hussey at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, and I'm so impressed that they were able to send someone out that same night! The technician (Johnny) found the problem, explained it well, and had us up and running quickly. He was wonderful.

Found these guys because they're listed as a Nest Certified HVAC company. My experience with Donna over the phone was very pleasant. I needed them to install a common wire to resolve a power sharing issue with my new Nest thermostat. My boyfriend was at home when Johnny, the HVAC technician, arrived, on time. He had nothing but good things to say about Johnny.
Very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Johnny reviewed the labor rate with him before he started working. He ran the common wire from the furnace, through the attic, and through the existing hole in the wall by the original thermostat so no additional holes were needed, which was a relief. My new thermostat is now up and running and I no longer have to wear 7 hoodies and sleep on a heating pad like a new puppy. Will definitely work with Hussey Bros again should any HVAC issues arise.

I had a Groupon special for duct cleaning. When they were at my house, they told me my furnace had dog hair in it and was a fire hazard, and gave me an estimate of around $600 to do everything it needed. Skeptical, I called Hussey for a 2nd opinion. Guy came out at the appointed hour, gave my furnace a good cleaning/servicing. Turns out there was no fire hazard, but I feel a lot better now that my furnace has been tuned up. Oh, and the $600? Hussey charged me $140. Am I satisfied? Ummm - YEAH!

Our furnace fan would not shut off; it kept blowing cool air despite the thermostat being in the "off" position and the fan being in the "auto" position. We had one company come here. Their solution was that the blower motor needed to be re-wired at a cost of $1200. Since the unit was over 10 years old, they recommended that we install a new furnace at a cost of $3,000-$4,000.
Then we called Hussey Brothers. Tim came here and spent about 20 minutes testing some of the connections. He determined that the flue had been improperly vented when the unit was installed. The system had been recognizing the air flow problem and automatically resetting a switch so the unit would continue to operate. The switch finally could not reset automatically, and thus the fan would not shut off.
He reset the switch, re-taped the flue, and the furnace started up normally again. Total cost - the basic $89 service charge! He did recommend that we have the flue properly vented through the roof, and gave me a ballpark quote for the work. We will definitely be using Hussey Brothers for this work, and all other HVAC work that we need done in the future.

Found Hussey Bros on American Standard website. Scott and Rodney came out and they were not only friendly and professional but they went the extra mile to do a great job and make sure I was happy with the service. I put in a new drip pan since my old one was poorly constructed, they improved my duct work to a couple areas that didn't get much air.
I had them put in a smart controller I had purchased. Finally, they moved my outdoor unit and my indoor controller to better locations. If I need any repair or maintenance service now I know who to call.
