I contacted John Henry plumbing to install a new faucet. An installer came out and quickly installed a faucet, however, it was a fancy faucet. I asked if he had a simpler one, but he told me that was the only one in his truck. He told me to "play with it for a few days" to get used to it. He took my old faucet, did not leave me the box for the new one.
The warranty paper he left was not for the faucet that was installed. He gave me a bill for $834 and I was shocked! I am a retired senior citizen on a fixed income. I contacted the office for an itemized bill so I could find out how much the faucet vs labor cost, I never got an itemized list. I called their office and told them the faucet is too complex for me, I was told they would see what they could do, maybe a check for $50 or $100, They eventually sent me a check for $50. I felt they took advantage of a senior citizen. I will not recommend them to anyone.

JH replaced my 2 AC units and furnace late 2021. Tradesmen did a good job. Wish could say same about office personnel. We scheduled work on 3 different occasions. JH no showed all 3 times (they did call to cancel 1 time, rescheduled but no show that time). Then there's the time JH ofc folks messed up the special financing they offered. Burned too many times so we're not going to be using JH ever again.

We discovered that our 30 yr old furnace had a cracked heat exchanger on 3JAN. After getting 2nd opinions and quotes from some other contractors I went with John Henry's to replace it. They said it would be the early afternoon of the day of the installation and it was, they put up with my asking questions occasionally over the few hours they were here about the heater, how it worked vs the old one, things to watch out for with routine maintenance, etc.
They were fast, relatively quiet considering that they had to remove the furnace and rebuild ductwork around the stack. They tested blower pressure and temperatures at the furnace and in the house afterward. While I don't relish having to do it again anytime soon they were the most upfront with their pricing and the most responsive with quotes and supporting documentation to send to my HO insurance policy people. Justin R and Jacob were great.

I made the mistake of calling John Henry's Plumbing, Heating and Air and it's easily one of the worst decisions I've made in choosing a company to enter my home and trust to make repairs. I feel like I've been violated, but as I was told by a manager at John Henry's Plumbing, Heating & Air, they "have a big enough client base so I can complain online all I want." #FJH

I called John Henry's for an appointment last Thursday, soonest they could come was today (Monday) sometime between 8 am and 4 pm. When no one had come by 3:30 I contacted them, they said someone would be out "this afternoon." Two hours and 45 minutes later (10 hours and 15 minutes total time spent waiting) they called to say someone was "on the way." I told them not to bother, and that I'd be hiring one of their competitors tomorrow.

If Yelp would allow me to give a no star rating I would. I paid $95 for a tech to come out and attempt to sell me a new water heater. Then when I talk to the "Manager" Brian he stated that I was given multiple options to fix said water heater(which is less than 5 years old) even tho the tech said they wouldn't work. Brian then attempted to sell me a water heater when I was disputing the labor charges. If you want water heater salesman call John Henry's. If you're looking for a plumber, call literally anyone else.

Had new A.O. Smith 50 gal water heater installed by John Henry's on 12/19/20 first thing on this Sat. morning. Did a good job removing old and installing new unit. Here's why I gave them only one star. On that same day the heater stopped working sometime in the night. I called them on Sunday morning and told woman answering phone that their brand new heater wasn't working.
She said they would get someone out on Monday. I said that was unacceptable. She argued with me. Finally got her to agree to send some one out around 11:15am. Very knowledgable and personable tech told me the brand new heating element was defective. I said great replace it. He said their warehouse doesn't open until Monday morning. They didn't get out with the part until 2pm on Monday.
No hot water for 3 days. They are very stubborn people to deal with. No apologies or owning up for their defective product nor discount for this problem. Try taking a cold shower in winter and you will understand my frustration. Won't be using them again.

Do not do business with these people. Two years ago, they came out to snake our upstairs tub. They broke the pipe, causing a major leak that destroyed the ceiling of our living room, which is above the upstairs bathroom. They blamed the old pipes. But before they snaked it, I asked them if it would do any damage to the pipes. They said, "we're pros.
We know how to be careful." That evening, thinking all was well, my wife and I look up sitting in our living room and water is pouring forth from above! John Henry's refused to own up to it. having me in their grip, I paid them to repair the damage, then had to have the ceiling repaired (including new plaster and taping etc.). They promised that the tub would no longer have drainage problems "because of the new technology of our piping system." The tub backed up again.
I called to tell them that I wanted them to come and fix it and reminded them of the promise. The tech came (a lovely young man--I don't hold him account; even tried to tip him for his time--) but he said I need to pay the service call and pay for the snaking. I refused, citing the promise that they said that their work was so good that it wouldn't get backed up. (oh, I forgot to mention that they nicked the tub in a few spots and since the finish has slowly pealed away).
Just got a bill for the service charge, which I was told I wouldn't have to pay. I called the accountant and they insist that I should pay for the service call. Not gonna happen. Luckily, Select Plumbing is right upstairs now fixing the problem. Wish I had called them in the first place.

I contacted John Henry Plumbing to repair a problem caused by a RotoRooter employee. Originally I hired RotoRooter to unclog my main sewer line because I had used them the last time I had a clog. The employee was polite but seemed a little disgruntled. He did not use a camera to diagnose the problem instead he just inserted his auger line. The auger line became tangled in the main drain and could not be dislodged.
The employee said that RotoRooter would send out a professional to look at the problem. I waited but no one came instead I received a call from RotoRooter saying that it would be between $6000-$8000 to make the repair without even coming out and looking at the issue. I freaked out and called John Henry Plumbing for a second opinion. I spoke to Matt, who was home sick, and he explained what needed to be done.
They were able to use the camera and saw that the RotoRooter auger line was tangled around an auger line that had broken off in the main drain. They provided an estimate of $3000+ and explained what they would need to do and why the price could vary. Matt expedited my job to the next morning at no extra cost. Matt and his crew arrived right on time and began working immediately.
My brother-in-law said that he'd never seen such an expert excavator, you could not tell that a repair was done except for the new clean outs they installed. The final cost was within the original quote and I had working bathrooms. After having a very bad year, John Henry Plumbing and Matt went above and beyond to help me out and I can't express enough gratitude. I would highly recommend John Henry Plumbing/HVAC to anyone interested in honesty and integrity.

Dislikes: 1) They called at 6:15am showed up at 3pm. Girlfriend waited all day. 2) Very overpriced ($301) to replace a $20 shower valve cartridge and approximately 30 minutes labor. But to be fair he stated the price up front and my girlfriend accepted. If I would have been home I would have turned him away. I should have done it myself. Likes: 1) Job was done correctly and works properly so I gave an extra star. I won't use John Henry's next time.

Set up an appt for monday, person said gary would be here 9-930, then got a call on Monday telling me he couldnt make it but somebody else would come SOMETIME today, i asked for a 1 hr notice as i work nights and needed to sleep, i told the caller exact instructions on what we needed and did not require an in house visit. My wife got a 25 min notice and since she was out of residence, didnt have time to make it back.
I was already in bed sleeping so when doorbell rang it took me a few minutes to respond, by the time i got up and went to the door he was gone. Horrible customer service, will not call again. It was a $6000.00 project, guess they dont need the money.

I have an older house and live in a neighborhood with lots of trees. It's pretty common for our sewer line to get blocked up due to tree roots. When this happened recently, I knew exactly what was wrong and gave John Henry's a call. I asked them for a quote over the phone. The lady just said they had a $50 diagnostic fee and that would be applied toward the service if we chose to have them do the work.
The technician came out a few hours later. I told him I just needed the tree roots cut out of the sewer and wanted and estimate. He looked at it and said the exact same thing: $50 diagnostic that they would apply to the hourly rate of $95. He first walked into my house at 9:10 and finished up work at 10:15. He then ran his tools to the van and came back in to get paid.
He did not show me an invoice, but told me it was $178. In a moment of stupidity, I didn't question it. I just wrote the check without thinking. He then left, but sat in his van in front of my house for almost 20 minutes. Later that day I contacted John Henry's for a detailed bill. They said their GPS showed the van was at my house for 1.5 hours, so they were charging me for an hour and a half or labor.
When the technician was done he just casually mentioned that my t cone plug wasn't sealing super well so he had replaced it for me. He never asked me if it was ok and since he was so casual about it I assumed it was something they were maybe throwing in for free. Turns out that little plug was $25.66. I found the EXACT some plug on amazon for $12, and I'm sure they don't pay nearly that amount for theirs.
In conclusion, the guy basically took a break in front of my house once the service was done to apparently run up the clock. Also, they installed a part that wasn't absolutely necessary, without asking me then charged and insane amount for it. I contacted them with my concerns and they said they felt the charges were fair. I've used John Henry's in the past for some major things: new AC, heater, and water heater. They have now lost a customer for life.

We always go to John Henry's for plumbing, a/c and such. We switched to them about 6 years ago and never looked back. They installed and service our dual a/c systems, our water heater, our furnace, cleaned our ducts. Their personnel are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and pleasing the customer is their top priority. Really a model company for how to run a reputable business.

A/C goes out on one of the hottest days of the year and John Henry's saves the day. From Leanne taking my call and being so helpful and positive to Weston being considerate and professional, explaining everything as he made the repairs, I was well taken care of. No surprise that they have earned the BBB Integrity Award. twice.

They installed a sump pump in my house that failed about 3 months later. My basement was flooded once again and there wasn't much to be done about it. I went out and bought my own sump pump as a replacement instead of calling them and complaining which was my mistake. I never paid the bill and was going to call them and tell them why, but I never did. they kept charging me additional money on top of what i owed them and I ended up paying them just to make it go away. ugh, I know it wasn't their fault I never called and complained but i was so upset after it failed 3 months after install and my basement was flooded i didn't want to deal with them ever again.

I received a call from John Henry's months later asking about the amount due on this account. After explaining the situation and clearing up issues from both sides, they offered a discount and explained the person responsible for the epic failure was no longer with the company. Thank you for owning up and moving forward. Lindsay was really polite and professional.
I can't imagine this happens all the time with these guys. perhaps it was just an isolated incident. I give them 4 stars, not for the work they did, but for the brass and integrity it takes to accept responsibility and to make things right. I respect that!
