These people are honest and good. They honored our warranty and replaced what needed to be fixed on an air conditioning unit. A month later I thought it was broken and it turned out there was sledge in a pipe. They charged us nothing. They are good hard working people who have taken care of us for years and I so appreciate them. Thank you for being kind and fair.

I have called this company for the last 5 years every time i have a problem and they have always been very professional and affordable. I will continue to use them for all my ac and heat needs. This is above an beyond. New custom home in Brock Texas, 3 different trades dropped the ball and put a critical project behind schedule. This wasn't Southern Air and Mechanical problem, yet Clint the owner got a full team out at 6:30 pm on a Friday night to power up a system! I asked the team lead, what Clint did to bribe you and to get you out here tonight, he says, Honestly Clint treats us right if he asks, we do it. Folks, in this economy all the trades are slammed. On the positive side the dispatcher and technician was very efficient and courteous, and they came out the same day I called. They charged $99 plus parts to replace a capacitor, which is a total of 10 minutes worth of work. Pretty standard. What surprised me was that they charged $250 for a part you can get for $35 on Amazon, and their cost for that same part is less than that.
I know they have to make money, but a 700% markup on parts is a little high. When I complained they reduced the cost of the part to $150, so I give them some credit for at least listening to the customer and working with me. On a 102 degree day I didn't have a lot of recourse (if I sent them away I would have still been out $99 AND my system would still be broken).
I understand the many costs that go along with running this type of business, but I feel like the price mark-up on parts is out of whack. I will probably look elsewhere next time.

I had Southern Air come out to look at my A/C unit and apparently it just had a dirty air filter. I had a new one still in the package so the tech replaced the old filter with this new one that I already owned and charged me $70 to replace and the entire visit cost be $230 and they were here about 10 minutes. I guess this ensured that their commission would be higher if they charge for basically nothing. I will never used their service as long as I need A/C and being in Texas that's a long time

First visit, the AC guys immediately blame the plumbers. OK. We show them a knick in the line and they say oh maybe it's the AC but check with the plumber. OK. Plumber comes out and says nope nothing is clogged and we took apart the p-trap to make sure everything was OK and this is an AC problem. Call Southern Air again and they send Phillip. Phillip appears to be on meth and is tweaking violently as he rudely says "call a plumber".
This is my third service call in 2 days, we just need a resolution. Every time we talk about how everything unfolded Phillip interrupts and says call a plumber. Phillip also says he fixed the issue and we will not have the issue any longer but it's not an AC issue. Absolutely deplorable customer service by the AC technicians. I've always had great service with Southern Air until now.

If you want prompt honest service DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have been waiting for a service man to come for almost 24 hours with no air conditioning, he told me last night that he would try to make it by noon, i waited until 2 pm and finally called, he said they tried to call me, ,, i think not, , now they are going to charge me overtime rate, ,, i told him come anyway and i would deal with the fee on monday with this office!, he then told me he wasnt going to come anyway because i was hostile! besides he was two hours away and couldnt promise anything! i have no issue with paying for service, but dont make promises and then lie!, by the way, ,, cheers to j and s air in arlington!,, i called them and they were here in 30 minutes and the service call was $40 cheaper! thanks for nothing sir!

After using three others, we now know we have some people we can count on to take care of our air conditioner/heater! Clint and ALL the people at Southern Air have been just what we've always wanted. They are extremely knowledgeable, considerate, fast, and do MORE than expected. They installed a new inside unit in Nov, 2008 and a new outside unit Nov, 2010. We have had nothing but GREAT experiences with them. Thank you, Southern Air, for being so kind to us "old folks!"
