For over 100 years, Spring Brook Ice and Fuel Company has been part of the community fabric of Central Maine. In the third generation of local ownership, we have evolved from selling ice and coal to supplying heating oil, propane, and diesel fuels. Despite accelerating change, our values have not wavered. From its beginning, Spring Brook Ice and Fuel Company has maintained certain core values that have guided relationships with its customers, superb workmanship, honest treatment, dedication to the community, and quality products at a fair price.

Robert L. Ervin was a Colby College graduate, coach, and business owner. He did not have to look far to see the sound commercial potential in the Kennebec River. It had become the source of "frozen gold" for entrepreneurs shipping ice all over the world. Ervin's new business became the Spring Brook Ice Company, taken from the name of the crystal clear brook on Drummond Avenue that he dammed and harvested every winter.
You want your heating and cooling system to take care of you. That requires diligent maintenance and occasional replacement. It also requires the full knowledge of emerging technology and product design features to maximize efficiency. Energy systems cannot waste dollars. Whether a simple furnace cleaning or a full boiler replacement, Spring Brook expects quality work. We understand that the finished product is a reflection of the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. The Company expects quality work.
Spring Brook is a family-owned company, not a corporate environment. If you are looking for a small-town Maine business that has served Central Maine for three generations, these employment opportunities are for you! Wages are commensurate with experience. Full benefits include Health Insurance, Retirement Plan, Clothing/Boot Allowance, Cell Phone, Service Vehicle, and Vacation.
We offer incredible specials on fine Rinnai appliances. Price includes installation in most circumstances. The above price is based on an average use appliance and could be less for a lower capacity unit. One of our technicians would be happy to look at your home's needs. Why pay for electricity to heat your hot water continually when you use hot water infrequently?

Carl is the ONLY reason Springbrook functions properly and they would be at a total loss without him. We always do the prepay because it's cheaper (hopefully unless the price of oil drops by winter) and it has worked out every except once. Do not get me started about the office staff because they are useless and I have no idea why they are still employed. They are the reason I'm taking off one star.

I have used springbrook for a few years, but recently found a much cheaper oil company to go thru. I called them and asked if i could have my kvcap voucher switched to this company and was told i could not by the woman who answered the phone. I then called kvcap and inquired with them and they told me it was a fairly easy process, i just needed to send an email with some details.
I did that on May 19th. The following week i called kvcap to see if they recieved the email and they stated they did and sent it to Springbrook on Monday the 22nd and had i believe 10 days to send back the money. Here it is June 5 and i still can not get oil. Thank you Springbrook!

Knowledgeable, detail-oriented, courteous, timely, considerate, respectful. These are just a few of the words that come to mind as I tried to describe how much I appreciate this company. These people treat their customers like family. Their service people are top notch, and they're willing to work with you.

I was a customer for years. I hired the furnace repair man from Springbrook. It was a disaster. He quoted me wrong, he left my house for hours then when he came back, I asked him where he went, and is he going to charge me for the hours he was gone. He told me to; 'stop my b&*&*&ng'. He was a big guy, he became belligerent, I told him to leave, and he refused.
I called Springbrook and told them to get him out of my house or I was going to call the police. I went outside my house for safety. He left, I went and checked on my furnace and it was leaking horribly. I called Springbrook back and made them send someone else who fixed it and left. When I turned the hot water on it was scolding hot and burnt me.
They had turned the hot water up so hot it was dangerous. I believe that guy did it out of spite. Springbrook manager told me I was not going to have to pay for the 3 hours that the man left, when I got my bill guess what? They charged me for the 3 hours that they guy left my house. They overcharged me by over 300.00. The bill was suppose to only be 150.00.
They were charging me 450.00. I did not pay the 450.00. I paid the 150.00 and told them to shove it. I now put a video camera in the furnace room if someone works on my furnace. I should have sued them. Prior to this, I would order 100 gallons and they would put in more in my tank than what I ordered and it was always when the prices were high. Scammers too.

Despite that review, we've now had constantly lousy service. Spring Brook service men have consistently incorrectly installed our wood pellet stove. They've even charged us for full days work for guys that just stood around looking at the stove rather than fixing the obvious problem. Despite being customers for years and now having written letters of complaint, we've never heard from them except their bills. We're through with them. I wish it weren't so, but I'd recommend finding another company to work with.
