Steve came out to diagnose what was going on with my AC system. The timeframe for his arrival was between 10 and 12, and he showed up right at 10, which was very nice! He was polite, professional and informative about what was going on. I really appreciated how thorough he was with investigating the problem. Steve was knowledgeable about my air conditioning unit and what was causing it to not cool down my home. He was also open about pricing and options! Very happy I called Vredevoogd! My house is finally cooling down and not taking hours and hours to do so.

The 2 men who came and installed are AC unit and new furnace worth fantastic. They were extremely informative and helped me to understand every working part of our new equipment new equipment. Vredevoogd is amazing! I had my furnace replaced, a/c installed, water heater replaced and the electrical was upgraded all in the same day. They are so professional and did an excellent job. From the estimate to scheduling and through the installation, they were so helpful in explaining the options and process. They also explained all of the new equipment, answered all of our questions, and made sure everything was set up how we wanted it before they left.
This just builds on our positive experience from a previous repair they did on our old furnace. I 100% recommend using Vredevoogd and am so grateful for their service and care.

Vredevoogd has been performing regular maintenance on our systems for a few years. They are always prompt & communicate well. They're more than willing to answer all questions & helped walk us through our new equipment when we moved. We recently used them to replace our very old AC unit. Very professional and knowledgeable. I am new to Michigan and Vredevoogd was recommended. The technician walked me through all of the systems (per my request), checked the furnace for leaks because of some exhaust smell, and then performed maintenance on the air conditioning. I think he went above and beyond the usual perimeters of the service to ensure I felt comfortable with the heating and air system. I definitely recommend.

Everyone I worked with was professional and very helpful. Installation was thorough and fast. Very impressive team! Yesterday was just a thermostat check. I had some questions, they came out promptly and my questions were answered. Steve came out yesterday to check my thermostat and he did a very thorough job, figuring out the problem. I would recommend him any time! Elton was the technician but I didn't see his name on your list. He was very thorough, efficient and professional. I was very happy with his work.

The team came in to replace our furnace and AC. They were very professional and worked around our work schedule. The following day, the pilot had gone out on our hot water heater and the crew came back and had the warm temps back without a fee for service. I am sure it was related to having the natural gas off the day before, but I felt reassured they came back to inspect the work and solve the problem without being charged.
The heat is on, the water is warm, and we have the peace of mind that the work is guaranteed. I am very happy with the service, the communication, and the flexibility of response. Thank you!

Greg was very personable, and I enjoyed talking with him when he came out to quote a furnace/AC/humidifier replacement. He was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. I was beyond impressed and would highly recommend! We called first thing in the morning when our water heater stopped working. They had a technician out the same day and were even able to install a new unit the same day as well! All the staff were incredibly kind, easy to work with and efficient. This was our first experience with this company. I called first thing after they opened and was greeted by a very pleasant lady. They scheduled the repair the same day. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the issue after a thorough investigation and was able to resolve our issue the same day. Don and his helper were super nice and helpful. They replaced my garbage disposal and fixed the issues I was having with my toilets very quickly. I called today and originally got scheduled a week out. I got a call about a half hour later that they had someone have an opening in their schedule later today and if I was available, they would be willing to come over.
Very glad I called when I did. Don and his helper found that the water lines that were attached to my sink were 1/4 turn from spilling water all over the place. They were very professional all around. I highly recommend using these guys! Thank you thank you thank you!

They arrived in a timely manner at 11 PM. Our thermostat was not working properly and we had no heat and the temp outside was very cold. We have a 10 year warranty on our furnace so it didn't cost anything which was so wonderful as we are seniors on SS. Steve S. Fixed the thermostat quickly and was on his way. I had David come in to do tune up for my furnace. He was very friendly and professional. He was on time and best part was after he was done with everything I asked him questions and he listened and answered all my questions. Afterward, I told him about issue with not getting enough air in one of the room, he went out of his way to check and adjust the speed even though he was done with tune up.
I really appreciate his help and I would highly recommend Vredevoogd. In the past I had few other local companies look at my Furnace and AC unit and no one came close to David and his Professionalism.

Michael is just another fine example of Vredevoogd's wonderful and professional service. My furnace was being examined for its 6 month check and discovered a leak. One of the PVC pipes had a fracture. Michael did not have the piece of pipe needed in his truck, so he drove all the way back to the shop and returned with the needed equipment (1 hour round trip). Awesome customer service. 5 STARS

I have left a review for Vredevoogd before, but have to give Lucas his own shout out because he goes above and beyond! Not only is he punctual and professional and gets the job done, but he is courteous and kind. He went so far as to put a little decorative sign that had fallen back up for me and let me know my kids had dropped something behind my car that I might not have noticed before driving them to school.
Truly appreciate him! I have always been happy with my Vredevoogd service and always recommend them. I think this is the only company I have left more than one positive review for!

My wife and were very satisfied from start to completion with our very first furnace and a/c installation. They were professional, friendly and took the time to explain everything thoroughly with the financing and the details of the work performed. Very fast service and great customer service. 3 year customer on AC and 1 week customer on furnace. We had a miscommunication on an issue but, it was corrected within a half hour of learning of it. A service technician came to check on why my furnace was making noise. After inspection he told me I needed a new exhaust fan. He quoted me a price of $988. Needing the furnace fixed due to nights getting cold I agreed to have the repair done. An hour later the furnace was fixed and running fine. The technician was polite and professional. After the technician left I went online to see how much the fan motor sold for.
I was shocked to find out the fan could be purchased for $160. So.add $160 for the part and $99 for the service call we have a total of $259 which means I was charged another $729 for the installation. I realize Vredevoogd has expenses to cover such as labor charges, vehicle charges, etc to make a profit, but for me I think charging $729 for installation is a little steep.
I was stupid not to get a couple of additional quotes so I can only blame myself, but if you are considering using Vredevoogd to do work for you I suggest you look elsewhere!

We got a new furnace & A/C, and they laid it on thick about the superior performance of the most expensive one they sell. The sales rep made claims that the A/C could reduce temp & humidity independently. False. We have been happy with the cooling, but our humidity this summer has consistently remained 65-72%, so our woodwork, cabinets, & doors swell & stick.
Might sound petty, but you can't close the bathroom door! Once it reaches/holds at the temp you set, the dehumidification stops even with the fan running 24/7. The only way to get the humidity lower is to cool it to 60°, which is miserable. OR, after paying $22K for our furnace, A/C, & humidifiers, they suggest we buy a dehumidifier. Don't let them upsell you. Lesser units can work as well or better.

Josh was very professional, timely, friendly and very knowledgeable of his job. Our cat met him at the door and she liked him right away. He said he also has a cat that he adopted from a shelter. After inspecting and cleaning our heating system, he explained everything he did including taking the initiative to modify the pump reservoir to make it a little easier for the next technician.
I was very impressed with his demeanor and professionalism and was a very nice young man. Vredevoogd has very high standards and wish Josh well with his career. I would highly recommend him for any job Vredevoogd would have him do.

Very polite people but don't know what they're doing. Every visit even for simple checkup requires 2 visits. 1 to check your equipment, the next visit, typically a week later, is to fix what they broke on the first visit. This has happened to me several times and I have a new home my HVAC system is new as well.

We have used them several times and highly recommend. When our furnace went out during the pandemic they were so kind and brought bunch of space heaters to get us through the night. As a stay at home mom I hate having technicians in the house; All of them have been very professional and courteous. Also have had good luck with calling them and getting appointments set up quickly.

I love how professional this company is. I used them on recommendation of two of my neighbors for a furnace tune up. Andy M. Let me know he was on the way and he showed up right on time and looking very professional. I decided to see if there were any yelp reviews while he was working and I was a little frightened by some of the bad reviews. Andy suggested a new humidifier filter, which hadn't been replaced in quite awhile and I'm sure I needed it.
Other than that he just gave me information and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I got a heating system evaluation checklist, that I appreciate. I would definitely use them again.

My A/C unit was freezing up over the weekend and I have used Vredevoogd several times over the past 8 years to have tune ups and a couple of repairs. They have always been professional, fair and fast. I called the phone number on my magnet on my fridge on Sunday. I spoke with a real person who asked if it was emergency, I said no and he said scheduling would call me first thing Monday.
They did indeed call. I told them the issue and I was put on hold to look for next available appointment. When the person came back she told me because of the age of my unit that they had no one available to service it. I asked.the same unit you have been working on the last 8 years? She said yes, and have a nice day and hung up? Really, why? If they would have come out and looked at it and seen that it was not fixable, I would have gotten an estimate from them to replace. It is sad that they no longer want my business. The tag with my name says San Fransisco? I do live in Rockford Michigan

Short story: I got a second opinion and found that the service technician had severely misdiagnosed the issue with my furnace. It was recommended that I buy a new furnace entirely ($4k - $5k) to solve the issue when all I needed was a new thermostat ($30). Long story: I recently had a technician come over to evaluate my heater. The technician came over during the work day so I was unable to ask questions and observe the evaluation.
I was recommended by the service technician to buy a brand new furnace as my current one was old and had a crack in one of the heat exchanges. I was told this was a serious issue and that the gas and electric needed to be shut off for safety reasons. I took the technicians word for it and asked for a write up of all the issues and quotes for possible solutions.
The tech advised I purchase a new furnace entirely as opposed to fixing the crack itself, which would cost around $1200 to fix. A mistake I made was not asking for a photo of the crack in the heat exchange. The tech then advised I purchase a brand new furnace system because of the severity of the issue and the age of the furnace. This service call costed $99.
After relaying this info to several family members, I decided to get a second opinion from another heating/cooling company. I was home during this tech's visit and I am thankful I was. The tech showed me that there was no cracks in any of the heat exchanges. In fact, there were zero signs that the tech removed anything internally to confirm the "crack" that was claimed to be present in the furnace.
After running the furnace through a few cycles the tech found that my thermostat had some previous wiring issues. We bought a new thermostat, did some rewiring, and our heat works perfect with zero issues. We were very disappointed with them and felt they tried to take advantage of us. They came out in August as part of our participation in their program to annually check our AC. The system had been working perfectly. They did their inspection and told us everything was fine. Less than 2 hours later it stopped working. When we called them back two days later they told us the blower motor was shot and it would be $1000 to fix, or we should get a whole new AC system.
They claimed it wasn't their problem. We got a second opinion from Michigan Building and Mechanical who told us that it was a simple part to replace. $200 later we have a system that's working fine. GLAD WE DIDN'T FALL FOR VREDEVOOGD'S SNOW JOB!

I am a club member.which means I pay a monthly fee to get VIP service. I've been happy with their service until now. I spent half my morning with a tech who insisted I needed to replace this and that part on my furnace. 700 dollars later, tech has left and the furnace will not even turn on. Worst part of all of this is I cannot get anyone to come back out until this afternoon. After 8 years of being a customer and paying a monthly premium to be "VIP" I can say this is shoddy, at best.

I am so surprised by the poor ratings on Yelp! We have had nothing but excellent service over the years by Vredevoogd. The service person is always prompt and courteous and explains any issues with the furnace or air conditioner in terms we two senior citizens can understand. We wouldn't call anyone else!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called for service on an air conditioner they previously came to fix. It was not fixed and they additionally broke something else. The tech that came back was rude, explosive, denied there was a problem. The office staff I complained to answered my complaint by saying all their service people are the best. Is that why they have a two star score?
I too was presented with a $400. bill for them to stop by, and it was the same scam others described. Also, they try to talk you into to paying $16. each month which lowers your cost on future service calls. Very clever, they dont fix anything, so they can keep coming back. Do not let polite office staff fool you. This is as bad as it gets.

Our furnace was found to be leaking Carbon Monoxide. A new system was delivered the next business day. They provided portable heaters to keep us warm. Installers handled the installation in an excellent fashion even tho running into challenges imposed by our home. They secured more help to make sure it was done in one day. They were friendly and worked very neatly. Our house was on great shape when they were done and they went over the new system with us completely before they left. Very happy.

Great customer service and friendly, thorough tech. Customer service with a smile does not a good heating company make, however. They could not fix my 20 yr old, Goodman furnace, whereas a second company could (and did!). The tech spent more time cutting into my furnace and inspecting the furnace's ceramic rings with a hi-tech camera to "prove" that my furnace would be unfixable than actually trying to fix the machine.
I would really watch the integrity of this company and the nature of their sales pitch (it is filtered through the tech talking to his manager via text/email). Get some other estimates and observe.they thought I was a sitting duck and gave me an estimate literally thousands over the competition. If not, you may be paying a pretty price.

The technician was very nice and dressed professionally, but I think I agree with Bill T. I figured I would give them a try, it was just my yearly service. I was told that I needed to replace my failing blower capacitor(?) and that it would be very bad for my furnace if I did not replace it.($99). He was also trying to get me to buy a Surge Protector for $396.00(which I did not buy).
I felt like I was at Uncle Ed's. Kept trying to get me to buy stuff I probably didn't need. He was also stating that I should have better filters and they could send them to me direct at $25.00 per filter.

Had a great experience with this wonderful company. My furnace went out in the middle of the night. I called them and they came out to my cold house with in the hour. A full hour before their scheduled time. They expertly diagnose the problem, and went over all my options. Repair or replacement. Since my furnace literally caught on fire, I opted for replacement.
They gave me more than a competitive quote with very high quality products. They came in and covered up my floors, and replaced my furnace within 5 hours. They left my house cleaner than what it was upon their arrival. I would highly recommend this very professional and impressive company.
