Services
Jason Parker and John Eader got together and started Bloomingdale Coal in the late winter of 1937. They rented property at 2509 Druid Hill Avenue in Baltimore City and built a small office there pictured to the left. Mr Eader, who was handicapped and worked out of his home calling customers by phone.
At Parker, we pride ourselves with providing the best service possible in Maryland. We don't cover the whole state, which allows us to provide a better service. Chances are if you have a problem we already have a service techinican in you neighborhood. Our service technician's attend continuing education programs to keep up with the lastest technology.
Terms like SEER, AFUE and HSPF are commonly used to describe efficiency ratings in the indoor weather industry. Also, find out if the dealer is a member of a local association such as the Air Conditioning Contractors of America. This, in itself, is some indication of reliability. 2. Ask the dealer about his training and experience.

Parker Fuel has went down hill, We have been with Parker Fuel for over 40 years always great but recently we had a tree take out half of my home, we called Parker to come over to drain our boiler but because husband mis spoke and said our home was condemned, they would not help us So when I called to complain and mention that we pay for a service plan When the man called me from Parker he was very Loud And very Rude But husband did it himself Guess when we move back in will need different Fuel carrier Terrible customer service

We've been having a lot of problems with our furnace this winter and have an annual service agreement with Parker. They performed maintenance in the fall, and we have had three service calls due to the furnace not working. After frustration, we had another company take a look and they immediately found the clean out for the oil burner was completely clogged despite annual service and three different Parker technicians troubleshooting over the course of 8 weeks. Recently, I decided to check up on some things and the whole home humidifier is a mess and probably hasn't actually been cleaned ever. Pictures below (the cleanout is supposed to be completely clean) and the second picture is the cartridge inside our humidifier. When talking with management, these problems seemed to be an inconvenience for them despite going multiple nights with no heat when it was below 20 degrees outside.

I am really appreciative of the company. We ran out of oil and they found someone to come on the same day to us. Everything was done well, fast, and professional. Except for one thing, the driver did not wear a mask when he went into my house to prime the heater. Our state is in the state of emergency and mask wearing is a requirement indoors. Please make sure your drivers are aware.

I have gotten oil from Parker in the past. My Oil Burner shut down and when I contacted my provider, they said they do not have any service people, all three had quit. The voice (man) on the phone told me that they do not service other providers. I told him I was "between a rock and a hard place". He told me "Too Bad" and hung up. Happy New Year to you Bud. Not a very nice guy.

Parker has been supplying our fuel for close to a year. They have also installed a new boiler and helped us prepare our heating system for basement renovation, so we've worked with them extensively during the past few months. I'm puzzled at the number of people who have written one-star reviews here. I've consistently found Parker staff to be helpful, pleasant and honest.

I have a tech making a minor change to my boiler system right now, and he just volunteered to help with my air conditioner condensate pump while he's here. I have NO plans to shop for a new fuel supplier. Thanks, Parker!

I used Parker for the first time on March 22. I had an emergency but had a previous appointment that I could not cancel. Parker worked with me, called to see if I was home from my appointment, and arrived in less than 1/2 hour after the call. Brandon provided outstanding service and took time to explain the problem, and mechanics of my boiler. A lever on the boiler malfunctioned after the pipes were bled and I had to call Parker to access the problem a week later. Again, Parker arrived within 30 minutes after I called, and Jim accessed the problem, explained what happened, and used oil to unstick the lever. I am so pleased with the service I received both times, the patience the technicians took to explain the problem and how it was resolved, and their honesty.

I have used Parker Fuel for several years and have always had a great experience. I called them this morning at 7:00am because we didn't have hot water, and the truck was here by 7:30am. A great local company that I highly recommend!

My experience wasn't from a customer, but rather someone walking by while someone's house was getting serviced. I was on a walk with my son and my dog. My son is almost 4 and obsessed with trucks. The service guy took an extra minute do you show my son all the parts of the heating oil truck. He was very friendly and even had a box of dog treats in the truck and gave one to my dog. This is the type of community service that is lacking nowadays. Good for you guys!

I moved to the "country" a few years ago and had to rapidly get acquainted with fuel oil heating. When I moved in, the house had one boiler, two furnaces, and a oil-fired hot water heater. I got rid of the oil-fired water heater and went with a heat pump on that, but the oil-fired heating units were going to be really expensive to replace. So, I decided to live with them for a while and see how that would go. Petro had been delivering oil and servicing the units for a long time according to the service tags, so I went with them for a little over a year.

I was not pleased. Petro's techs didn't clean or adjust the units very well, so efficiency suffered (I only found this out later after switching to Parker). They also ran me out of oil once when I warned them 3 days in advance I was running out of oil. So, this time, I did my homework and asked the neighbors of my little hamlet what company they used.

The majority winner was Parker for both their service and their oil delivery. Parker charges a solid amount for service contracts, but they have paid off. One year, they completely replaced the smoke pipes on all units--all included. Any emergency failures short of a heat exchanger are covered, no additional charge. The units run cleaner and more efficiently than they ever have, and Parker's techs are thorough.

They leave a little print out of the combustion gas analysis every time to prove their work. Their algorithms are good at predicting my oil amount, and they have always been accommodating when I have asked for an additional delivery for a margin of safety. My only quibble is their odd front office hours (closed by 4 pm) and their lack of online payment options.

I call every month and just tell them to charge the card on file. it's a small nuisance and I understand they are a small company. So far, I'm very pleased with them, for two plus years now.

I have been a Parker customer for a while and recently had an interaction with their customer service and Account manager who were incredibly rude and borderline aggressive on the phone. I tried to understand why I was being charged for expecting them to prime/restart my oil furnace after they re-filled it (at ~$815). The way they came across over the phone, sounded like providing customer service was a bother to them (maybe they were feeling overwhelmed who knows?

But defintely not an excuse to display that level of rudeness. I dont know how they remain in business but I'm glad there are other service providers out there. I took my business elsewhere. My only regret is I wish this had happened before my tank was refilled.

My dad has been a long time customer and did a lot of law work for Jason Parker. The home we purchased also has oil and had an existing account with Parker so it was a natural choice to continue. They have always been courteous from the reception/office end to the fuel technicians/specialists. We had a servicing where they cleaned our furnace and oil tank this past September, and more recently this past Sunday we had an emergency oil delivery need.

The fuel gage was broken and of course during the coldest weekend/week of the year we ran out of oil and hot water. My husband spoke to the answering service Saturday but something got lost in the translation despite him saying emergency service. However Sunday we received 10 gallons and got an additional 20 of diesel fuel to tide us over until the regular drivers would be back on their schedule.

Today we had 2 techs repair our leaking fill pipe (which also contributed to our rapid loss of oil), replace the gage, and another tech who filled us up. They were timely, courteous, and efficient. Great to see a family business that's been around for so long dominate in the area.

We buy our heating oil from them so it was a natural choice to call them when one of the ducts of our central air conditioner got disconnected from the air handler. Simple fix, but they were courteous and efficient on a day with temps in our attic close to 120 degrees. I'd use them again in a hot minute.
