Make up air units are designed for use in commercial & industrial building spaces to provide building HVAC and efficiently establish and maintain a slightly positive air pressure condition in the building by delivering heated or cooled outdoor air. Slight pressurization is desired for increased comfort through reduction of unwanted air infiltration from building seams and cracks or from windows and doors. Typically make-up air is used in large, open industrial and commercial spaces, and the supply air can be distributed with or without ductwork.

RAPID 8500D-Series are indirect-fired air handlers that can be designed to heat, pressurize or cool. The units are available in three different configurations: The Make-Up Air configuration (MUA) supplies 100% outside air for direct replacement of building mechanical exhaust. The Fixed Recirculation configuration (FR) provides a manually-controlled mix of return air and outside air.

Equip the air handler with a coil section and pair it with a 3200 Series Condensing Unit. A condensing unit is one part of a split system used to cool an occupied space and is installed outside of your building, usually on the roof or on a concrete slab, and paired with an indoor air handler.
