Service is important to us whether it is on a job that we installed or repairing an existing system installed by someone else. We have a fleet of service trucks ready to service our customers should the need arise. Our knowledgeable technicians have had many hours of factory instruction in servicing and repairing most major brands of air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment. But to avoid costly service calls, Rowan Heating & Air Conditioning recommends that a customer purchase a maintenance contract.
A blower door test and Aeroseal are the best ways to find and seal leaks. We offer both these services, but if it's not feasible at this time, here are a few tips on how to save money on energy bills without breaking the bank. Keep hot air out, caulk and/or put weather stripping around doors and windows that leak air.
Check the breaker at your electric panel to see if it is tripped. Sometimes the breaker can trip so make sure to flip the breaker off and then flip it back to the on position. There may be approximately a 5-10 minute delay when turning the system back on. Set the thermostat on "warm" and raise the temperature in the room a few degrees to see if the system will come on.
Why is it, when it's the hottest day in the summer or the coldest day in the winter, the heating and air conditioning system breaks down? Instead of worrying, sign up for Rowan Heating and Air Conditioning's maintenance policy. We will come out and check your system is working properly. Below is a list of things our technicians will check during the bi-annual maintenance service call.
Our courteous and experienced office staff are trained to coordinate your calls promptly and efficiently. Rowan has its own sheet metal shop to custom fabricate any ductwork that may be needed on a job, thus preventing any delays in work and time. Industry standards are adhered to or surpassed in most of our design work. Our shop is set up to handle residential and commercial plan and spec designs.

My experiences with Rowan Heating and Air have been poor. It is a family owned business run by the mother. They have a billing and collection department which is wholly incompetent. Nearly every task they have done for me had to be repeated. While some of the kids who work for them are pleasant, find a professional firm to deal with. # not worth the aggravation

We have been very happy with our service contract with Rowan. The technician that performs the service visits is very thorough! Recently, my husband called in when our smart thermostat powered off unexpectedly. Nick helped my husband troubleshoot the problem over the phone and saved us a service call (which would have happened later that day :) Thanks, Nick!

They replaced my HVAC system and a neighbor's at a reasonable cost and time. Excellent work. Dean was the lead tech on the job which encompassed the installation of two complete systems. I have been dealing with Rowan for over thirty years and have recommended them to others, who in turn have recommended them. FYI, this is the second system that Rowan installed for me and my neighbor, the first being in 1996!

We have used Rowan Heating and Air Conditioning for 20+ years and have always been pleased with their service. But we recently had an AC problem and Nick came out the same day we called. He stayed late to correct the problem. Nick was extremely courteous and professional. He even noticed a problem with out hot water heater and corrected that also. He gave us tips and ideas of what we should check for. We strongly recommend Rowan. They are very reasonable and respond immediately.

Rowan HVAC has done service on our old HVAC system and installed a new system for us recently. They are, by far, some of the more fun, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and reasonable contractors we have had do work for us. I've seen a past review talking about how 20 minutes of work translates to $114, think about minimum hourly rates (usually a 2-hour minimum).
Think about travel time, usually 1-hour. When you factor in any of those scenarios, $114 to repair a problem you couldn't fix yourself that's reasonable. Just saying.

We returned home from vacation late at night to a house that was 60 degrees during the "Bomb Cyclone". It was so cold, but one call to Rowan H&AC and they helped us over the phone immediately so that we could get the heat back on temporarily. Then the very next morning, they were at our house to look at the system in person. It was fixed within an hour for a really reasonable fee. Highly recommend these guys!

Can't say enough about Rowan. Nick recently came out to do a routine check up on my system as we just moved into a new house. He found my humidifier was filled with mold and mildew and we decided to remove it. When the water valves were faulty he just cut them out and installed a new section of water line no problem! He cleaned continuously and my unit looks brand new inside and out even though it's 12 yrs old.
After talking with him about my concerns of the efficiency of my house he went and got a blower door unit out of his truck and hooked it up. He walked around with me and showed me everywhere my house was leaking and made suggestions on how I should go about improvements. He even crawled around with me in the attic and showed me ways I could really seal up major air leakages to make my home healthier and efficient.
He made suggestions on future equipment changes that would end up saving me money on my energy bills but in no way tried to "sell" me or push anything on me. If you want a company that loves what they do and genuinely cares about you and your home, I highly recommend Rowan!

This was our 2nd time using Rowan Heating & Air Conditioning. The technician clearly explained the problem and solution. He even gave us tips to prevent future disasters from occurring. We just moved to our home one year ago and it's an older home. This company is now our "go to" company for all things Heating & Air conditioning.

Starting from the phone call to the in home assessment, everything was fantastic! Cindy was had amazing customer service, and Nick was very professional and knowledgable. I just had my A/C Spring service check-up done. Outstanding service provided by Jake Mulhern. He called and said he would arrive in one hour. In exactly one hour he was at my doorstep. His service was done in a most professional manner and utmost politeness. I have had Rowan Heating & Air Conditioning Company service my home in over 20 years. At my request back then, they converted my "all electric" home to natural gas.
The best decision I ever made to my home. Their professional service could not be topped. All their employees are truly Professionals among Professionals. I would recommend them to anyone.

The Rowan family has been taking care of my family's heating and cooling needs in two houses since the summer of 2007. We are very satisfied. The technicians are courteous, thorough, very professional and knowledgable about oil and gas furnaces as well as electric cooling systems. They do all the analytical work to make sure the systems are working efficiently and that flus are drawing properly.
They keep detailed notes so all tests are documented and available for review. When we have had emergencies they have been quick to respond. I recommend without any qualification.

We have used Rowan Heating & Air Conditioning on three occasions -- always emergencies. The first time our furnace failed on the coldest day of the winter. BG&E said they couldn't service us for at least 4 or 5 days. Rowan came out the next day. Yesterday, our air conditioning stopped working on the hottest day of the summer. We called Rowan around 9 pm last night and someone: 1) actually answered the phone; 2) was helpful in telling us what we should check on the a/c until someone could come out and service us; 3) Jake, the service tech who came out, was professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and just a great guy.
He had us up and running before noon today! I love this company because they understand what their customers are going through when the heat and a/c aren't working and they care enough to try to help ASAP. I also love Rowan because they are a family owned business. Every last person I've dealt with at Rowan has demonstrated more empathy and professionalism than I've ever experience with a giant company. Their owner Teresa rocks too! I won't call anyone else for our heating and a/c needs.

I had an awful experience with this company. Use them at your own risk. Rowan sent a technician that came and checked my forced air heating unit in middle of winter. He claimed to be their best tech but had only been out of school for 8 years. Red flag #1. After checking the unit he claimed to have seen a large crack in the heating exchange and he turned off the gas claiming as a whatever heating association membership credentials he was obligated to do so.
Red flag #2. (I can't believe I let him do that.he had no legal authority or responsibility to do so.) Let me add that Rowan didn't test for flue gas escape so there was no basis for his actions, let alone he had no legal authority to do so as I just said. He quickly followed up in a day, though with an estimate of almost $10 grand for a new unit.
See where this is going? I got another opinion from another heating firm that said visually sizing a crack and turning down a pilot because of that finding is simply a judgment call.one of the oldest scams in the AC and heating repair industry.business. Without additional testing, Rowan nor any other firm can tell you definitively if a malfunctioning unit is a hazard for CO2 poisoning. When I complained, Rowan said they would refund my charges. To this day, they still have not. Buyer beware. You've been warned.
