Our Furnace went out and we had to call one of the Techs on a weekend. He arrived on time, checked the furnace and informed us that there was nothing wrong. He then politely explain it was more than likely our thermostat. He was able to test it and install a new one in no time Service: General repairs

The service tech Alex came to my moms house and did an awesome job. Her furnace wasn't working, and he ended up thoroughly explaining to my mom what was wrong and how he ended up fixing it. He was very polite and professional. Definitely would recommend Alex and Fahnestock! Service: Heating system repair

Dustin installed a tankless water heater and a kitchen faucet for me. Both were done expertly, efficientlly, and with a smile. Fahnestock also services my heating and air conditioning with the same efficiency. I would not hesitate to recommend Dustin or Fahnestock. Services: A/C system maintenance, Water heater installation, Faucet installation

Another great experience with Fahnestock. We recently had one of our HVAC systems replaced. This was our second time using Fahnestock for this type of work as they replaced our other HVAC system in 2016. The overall experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Everyone was very professional and punctual and we were kept well informed through the entire process, and the value was outstanding.
We contacted 3 other vendors for quotes but it was clear from the beginning that Fahnestock was heads and shoulders above all of them. Hopefully this will be my last HVAC replacement at this house but if not I will certainly use Fahnestock again.

They were quick and professional in terms of the service. I can't stress it enough, in terms of providing repair or services, they are great. However, I took two stars due to a severe lack of communication. Leaving out a number of details in relation to me being an ignorant new home owner and ultimately paying a bill that I thought I was not going to have to pay due to warranty coverage, the communication with this company was spotty at best.
When paying my bill, there were no notes in there system regarding my past interactions with them which could have led to a smooth customer experience. I paid the bill because they fixed my HVAC problem, but I did so reluctantly. Word of advice if you use this company, make sure you are informed to the best of your ability and keep records of your own communication.
The bill was not painfully expensive (less than $200), but by the time it came down to where communication would have been valuable, I felt it was either pay the bill or take a hit to my credit score. I will likely use this company again, but in a less trusting manner. Good luck to everyone out there.

I knew my 35 year old HVAC system had to be replace. I spoke with 4 other companies and tried to tell them about the air flow problems in my house. Franestock was the only one that came up with a solution. They. installed a larger return drop. I'm now able to open all my vents and I no longer have hot and cold spots. The installation crew was very professional. I also like having the peace of mind knowing I have a company I can depend on for service.

We had Fahnestock install a new AC and Furnace in May 2018. Our AC went out on July 1, 2020. The refrigerant line was leaking due to a faulty connection on the copper line during the installation. They fixed this error for free but the compressor went bad as well. This was apparently unrelated to refrigerant leak and claimed to be from the screen on the outside unit getting too dirty in 2 years. So a $5,500 system two years ago needs a $1,300 labor repair now.

Fahnestock is fabulous! Every single person you talk with- from scheduling, technicians, billing- everyone is nice and professional. They go of their way to make sure you're taken care of and truly have the highest standard of customer service. Having a service plan is reasonable, has saved us so much money plus they automatically schedule to come out twice a year. I rarely write reviews- but in their case it's so warranted. Great job!

Used Fahrenstock when our house was built 18 years ago. A wiring error on their part caused problems for Playmonths until it was discovered 6 months later during a seasonal check up. Fast forward to now. The house has 2 HVAC systems and both were showing their age. They were using large amounts of electricity, noisy, and running rough so we decided to replace them. Fahnestock had a sale going on so we thought what the heck - can't have bad luck twice - so we bought two top of the line Lennox systems.
The larger 4 ton system has run ok but the 2 ton system has broken down 4 times since being installed a month ago. It displays a big red error symbol on the thermostat and shuts down. When the service tech came out the first time he said these systems were "touchy". It needed to be reset and he checked it over and found nothing wrong. Next week same thing - I reset it.
Week later same thing - I reset it. Today same thing. Called Fahrenstock and am waiting for the tech. Ten thousand dollars for a touchy system? During the installation the person setting up the computer thermostat had no idea how to do it. I had to show him how to access the installer settings, connect the WiFi, and do the basic set up. His partner said he usually just pushes buttons till he gets what he wants.
Avoid this company. Update - The service tech has been back out twice now. Last time he said the refrigerant pressure was off and adjusted it. Also that Lennox had a new circuit board that also addressed the issue. Today he came out to replace the circuit board. He did it and checked that the system would start up and left. 30 minutes later we checked upstairs and HOT air was coming out of the registers and the temp had climbed 6 degrees.
Shut it down and called Fahrenstock again. To be continued. Next chapter - the service manager (Zach) himself came out along with James, the tech. Yeah we're on a first name basis. Zach through his laptop and phone was in touch with the Lennox regional rep as they were walked through the checkout and setup of the new circuit board. Something that should have been done before being installed.
They did it, fired it up AND error message after red critical error message came up and the system shutdown. Lennox had given them the settings for a different model. After that mistake was fixed the system put out cool air and stayed running. It's 3 weeks later now and no new problems. Temps have hit 100 plus and both systems are doing good.
I have to give Fahrenstock credit for staying with it. Thanks to James and Zach for their persistence. Suggestion? Get your people properly trained on new systems BEFORE they come out to install or service them. After all this I would still recommend Fahrenstock to others but Lennox -?

We called to get the cost of a standard 50 gallon water heater and have it installed. The cost of a 50 gallon no-name tank was a little more than $1000 plus $400 for installation. Shocked at the cost, they did say they could install one that we purchased at Lowes ($320) for $400. Past experience from other plumbing companies have been able to install tanks that are pre-drained of any residual water in 60 to 90 minutes. Fahnestock took 4 hours plus the area was left quite filthy.
When the bill arrived it was for $500 not $400, big shock. We really thought Fahnestock was a better company than that but apparently not. We will not be using Fahnestock in the future.

I'm an easy-going guy and not hard to get along with. I give most everyone the benefit of the doubt, but expect to be treated fairly and with respect and common courtesy. I called for service on a Wednesday because I couldn't get my regular A/C tech to clean my unit. I specifically asked for a cleaning of my unit as well as to check to see why it was short-cycling.
The cleaning was more important to me. The Fahnestock representative told me they would come out the following Monday Afternoon. I received a call from their office slightly after 4 P.M. on Monday and they advised me that they could not do a 'spring service' and clean my unit, that they would have to schedule another service call for that but they still wanted to come out and check to see why I was getting a 'no cool' whatever that means. Whoever I spoke with was rude to me and cut me off.
I tried to tell her I specifically needed a cleaning and she told me that she wasn't going to argue with me and then rudely asked me 'do you want us to come out or not?' I am getting cold air, it just shuts on and off repeatedly. I am sure it's because the unit needs cleaned. I don't understand why they didn't listen to begin with and why the office help had to be so rude.
I was only trying to give them my business and they treated me poorly. I can't do business with them for this reason, so I cancelled the service call. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Two things happened to convince me that this isn't a company I will want to return to as a customer. Firstly, I ended up with a bill for $300 for repair of a water heater that was under warranty that Fahnestock installed last year. The repair-visit charges were not explained to me up front and I was "surprised" with a larger bill than expected at the end of the visit. (I expected nothing for an item under warranty.) When I complained, the bill was reduced by one labor hour and I was promised a refund.
It arrived well over a month later. Here is the kicker. I am female, I met the plumber on my own. I paid the bill with a check with my name on it. I complained about the charges myself. The refund check was made out in my husband's name and sent to him. Hello Fahnestock, it's the 21st century. Women pay bills too! I prefer fair, nonsexist companies.
