Cooney Air Conditioning & Heating

Company gave an 8:30am-11am window for their service call. Technician called to inform he will be coming at 8:30am since he has to go to another service call outside town and then asked what brand of furnace. When he arrived at the house, he had already decided that he may not be able to fix the furnace even before looking at it. He went to the cellar, took off the furnace cover and pulled out a part then said he can't do anything about it, we need a new furnace and his boss will call for the estimate. Billed us $165 for the 5 minute "non-service".

Two weeks after, still haven't heard from them regarding the estimate for a new furnace. Very unfortunate experience with this company. They service my church so I thought they can be trusted but it was a costly mistake on my part. It's a less than 1 star for me.

Cooney has always been very responsive, timely and professional. We live in a renovated factory, and Cooney understands our unique needs when it comes to heating and cooling. At the start of the season our AC unit was blowing warm air. Called Cooney and a technician arrived in the time they said he would (a few hours later). He was very thorough, and explained what he found. He fixed the issue in under an hour. He was very professional.

I have had my boiler serviced by this company for approximately 2 years, the boiler was not working this fall properly and I have been spending money consistently over this winter season. I have spent well over 2000.00 dollars and still have no consistent heat. I would not recommend this company as they obviously do not have skilled techs to diagnosis or fix the problem. Save yourself the headache and find a more qualified company that's what I plan on doing.

They charged an elderly couple $700 in April 2021 to repair a motor that could not have cost more than $100. That motor failed in January 2022 after just getting out of the hospital, they had no heat. Cooney wanted $300 to look at it and that conclusion would have been the same as the last time, another $700. If they had suggested to replace the 30 year old furnace instead, it would have happened back in April, but they chose to take the quick money instead.

The system is being replaced this week with high efficiency equipment. Cooney lost a long term customer. In response to Cooney's request to contact them, they can check with the owner, Scott to check his messages left prior to my review. I gave them a chance to work through this, but they never returned my calls. My name is not in their records, but in my detailed message they will see who I am representing; a long term customer and what the issue was. If Scott would like to call me, he is more than welcome and he has my number.

I just purchased a house, and recently found the gas furnace in my house is not working, so i called Cooney, The technician came found out that the wiring of new AC installed by previous owner of the house is messed up, it makes the furnace not function well, so the technician went up and down stairs, outside and inside the house like 20 times to rewire furnace and AC, explaining everything I asked, finally solved the problem, good and experienced, trusted company.

After discovering that my furnace was not working we called in the professionals "Cooney air conditioning and heating". The service technician who came to assess the situation informed me that my furnace was a safety hazard and that it was beyond repair and I would need a full upgrade including furnace and water heater. He also informed us that my. chimney, which we currently use as venting for the furnace and water heater, would need to be repaired as it was in an unusable state.

They quoted me $10,500. given the amount of money I was looking at spending I reached out to some connections I have in the facilities world. An HVAC specialist that some of my connections work with regularly and.

My central air unit wasn't working. I called Cooney and they sent a technician out to look at the ac unit. The technician promptly fixed the problem and had the unit running. He also cleaned the ac unit and checked to make sure the ac was blowing out the cold air at the correct temperature. I couldn't be happier with Cooney AC & Heat. I'll definitely have them come out in the fall to clean my furnace and make sure it's running properly.

I decided I wanted a ductless-split system installed in my home. I called Cooney Air Conditioning & Heating for an estimate. Ron Stevens (Systems Specialist) met with me at my house to discuss the matter. Ron was great. straight-forward, personable, and professional. I decided to go ahead with the installation based on my conversation with Ron. The install team, led by Brian, were also personable and professional.

Everything was installed cleanly and I am very much enjoying the ductless-split system over the window AC units that I've used in the past. The ductless-split system cools down my house within minutes and is very quiet. I love it. Thank you Cooney!

Had a great experience with the tech who came to our home to install a whole-home humidifier and do an a/c inspection. He was courteous, did the job professionally, and explained everything to me as he worked. He also shared additional information regarding our heating/cooling system and duct work to help save money. Cooney air-conditioning and heating is simply the finest establishment you can do business with an upstate New York. One of its managing supervisors Ron Stevens came to my home in the middle of a heat wave when my central air conditioning went and gave me a credibly reasonable estimate to do it from Mendez amount of work over 2 1/2 day. The amount was almost half of one another air-conditioning place wanted to charge for half the amount of work. Cooney is the finest in the area.

They did the work over 2 1/2 day. Extensively extensively redid my ductwork put booster fans in my ducks and a 3 ton air conditioner and the place is like a refrigerator now it's wonderful. The technicians Mike and Scott were absolutely wonderful and cheerful and trustworthy I left them in my home for three days and nothing was touched I went to a hotel.

They were wonderful and kept in touch with me and kept me apprised of all things concerning the unit and its installation at all times The managing supervisor Ron Stevens also kept in touch with me and let me know what the progress was and what the estimate would be. The final bill was astonishingly low and very fair. The work of quality is amazing!

I have never seen such a professional job done. They did not leave any stone unturned I did every detail perfectly then they explain to me all of the system and how to work everything. They even came back when I forgot something about the system and we're cheerfully back within an hour of my arrival at my home If you want great service fast service the finest service at a reasonable price with kind people or empathetic and understand your needs go with Cooney air-conditioning only nobody else they are the only ones in Central new York who will do the job right and for the right money with great service!

I all the doctoral degree, and I am a lawyer of 40 years, and a law professor 32 years at Syracuse University. I have never had service like this in my life they are absolutely the greatest. Don't go anywhere else!

Cooney Air Conditioning & Heating recently designed and installed a new variable speed heat pump / AC system in our new build and we could not be happier. I first met with Scott before construction began and he helped design the system. This involved a lot of measurement and planning. Scott then helped to insure the duct work was installed properly and then they installed the system.

The Cooney team is extremely professional, very knowledgable, neat, courteous and always on time. I can't say enough about how great they are. We now live in an unbelievably comfortable house with the ability to heat or cool perfectly balanced zones. The system Scott designed has resulted in an incredibly efficient/low cost operation of our HVAC system. Highly recommended!

Cooney refused to give the information need to complete the $500 rebate from National Grid. They stated they are not engineers. These figures are the computations used to compute the size of the unit needed for your floor space. Cooney is listed as a signed participant of the program and the unit installed is part of the program. Five hundred dollars may not be a lot of money to some people but to a retired couple on a fixed income it is considerable.

I would highly recommend this company professional, courteous and truly strives to help the customer. I was without heat due to complications with water lines to my furance. We had them install a furnace and air conditioner and humidifier in June, 2019. The installers did a perfect job. Everything was neat and clean and precise. When they were done everything worked perfectly and we enjoyed a very quiet air conditioner in a very hot July. Now in November we are enjoying a two stage furnace that is keeping the house very comfortable with controlled humidity. Ron Stevens did a great job in designing improvements to our duct work to make it more efficient too. We definitely would recommend Cooney Heating and Air Conditioning.

Ron was great and kept me informed since Saturday when I called your after hours number and scheduled us first thing Monday morning and Brian did a wonderful job installing the new water heater. Had Charles our today to do some work. John came out along with rain Patton. I had 3 different things that needed to be done. John went around and 2 of the items I thought needed replacing just were tightened up and no need to replace. He did not want to just replace something for no reason. He left as Brian was replacing a faucet. He did an excellent job and he even replaced everything in the vanity to where it was before. I couldn't believe he would do that to begin with but he put everything back where it belonged after the faucet was replaced.

With Cooney you will always get a professional job done. From the first meeting and till the end of project. Workmanship bar none is nothing but the best! We have been using them for over 20 years.

Our air conditioning stopped working. We have been working with Cooney for the last couple of years and they told us they could make it between 6 and 8 and it was important because we have animals that require cooler areas. Well guess who never came and we called again to say we need them and it felt as though they made every excuse not to come out and help tonight.

But we will call again in the morning to try and get them to come out. Despite being there for our yearly check up 2 weeks earlier and letting us know everything was great! Umm. Even if it was great at the time, The Grand attempt to avoid coming out is having us really question our loyalty to Cooney.

Do not use these people. No customer service. They had to order a part showed up to my house with the wrong part. Unable to fix unit and still charged me $200. I now have to wait at least another week for the right part to come in and I was told it's my fault that the vendor mailed them the wrong part. Disgusted with their lack of integrity. It was made clear that my annoyance with their lack of service was not their problem because they had other customers to tend to.

I called in an emergency air conditioning service to be repaired last night. The tech came out installed the wrong size capacitor and said it was a temporary fix and told me he would be back the next day with the correct size and charged me for the material, labor and service of $314. The next day I received a call from Mark at Cooney telling me I would have to pay a labor fee for them to come back and insert the correct size.

I told Mark this was never mentioned to me or my husband or written down on the quote he then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't want my business because I told him that he should have mentioned there would be an additional cost. I do not recommend this company to anyone!

Was tailgated and then double passed today on a double solid yellow by a Cooney driver. I have no idea what the quality of work they do is (could be stellar) but this is enough for me to never call them if I have trouble with my HVAC. (Even though perhaps they'd be the first ones there?) very unprofessional.

They replaced a drain piece inside my furnace this morning. I have no reason to question the quality of the work they did, but they gouged me for labor. The appointment was for 7:30. They called shortly before 7:30 and arrived about 7:37. They left at 8:40, and the elapsed time included time for them to leave to purchase additional parts at a hardware store - common fittings I would have expected to be on the truck.

But I was charged 1.5 hours labor. After I protested to the tech, he slammed my door when leaving the house. When I called the office to complain about the charges, I was told I am paying for their travel time (they hadn't told me this when giving the estimate), and that the quote was for 1.5 - 2 hrs, which evidently gives them the right to charge as much as 2 hrs.

Both the tech and the guy in the office indicated they were doing me a favor by charging only 1.5. How long it actually took was irrelevant to them. But the clincher was the office claimed their GPS proves the techs left their offices at 7:13 and arrived at my house at 7:15. Apart from the fact they actually arrived shortly after 7:30, their truck must have wings because Google maps indicates it is 5 miles and 12 minutes between their shop and my house - and that's when there is no traffic. Maybe the actual work is fine - time will tell - but the lack of integrity will drive me elsewhere next time.

They responded on a Sunday morning even though we were not an existing customer. We had a new furnace within 24 hours. We had to pay for the initial service call on Sunday but do not pay for the new furnace until all the work is complete so they have to come back to finish up the details. Ron the service guy and Ron the sale guy are both easy to work with and seem to really care. It was nice when you have no heat and it is cold out.

I was in need of a new furnace and I'll be honest I've always used another company but this guys had helped out once in a time of need very late at night so I decided to get an estimate from them in addition to my usual company. Ron did the estimate and discussed everything and some potential problems and solutions the estimate was delivered in time as promised.

The price was very competitive and included work that the other company did not include so I went with cooney The install process was great met the installers the first day and let them go about thief work. No issues at all I wasn't even there when they did the work. I had no concerns about not being at the house while they worked. Everything was installed good and the place was cleaner when they left than when they started So looks like I've got a new hvac company!

Top notch service from very professional people. My furnace finally died and Cooney came at 9pm to set up installation of a new one. They were able to do it the next day and the whole process was over in under 24 hours. Everyone involved was extremely professional. They were so clean that other than the new furnace, you couldn't even tell they were ever there.

Wonderful service. Skilled technicians, personable office staff and reasonable rates. I've used them for years and they always meet my expectations.
